The periodic religious fervor to jihad is used by the imams and the rulers to divert attention away from their corrupt ways.

The question is: Do they run out of Sunnis/Shias before they run out of us?

#12 Either way, destroying those Shia shrines have kicked off another 2-3 decades of constant warfare between the factions. It was a big mistake on ISIS part, as now there's going to be hundreds of thousands of Shia martyrs looking to do damage. As soon as the Militia's being formed up get some training, the bloodbath will really kick off.

I just mourn for all the lost history and dead innocents caused by all this, who were tolerant of other cultures. Then again, they didn't exactly stand up to stop this either.

Something I am thankful for though is the refugee's allowed to actually LEAVE. I was sure they'd be headless corpses all over Mosul, but instead they're getting kicked out. Even if they weren't allowed to take anything(Why hadn't it been MOVED already), at least they are alive. Perhaps to return and rebuild someday.

#18 ISIS may think the Saudis have their back. Problem is, at least in most of Iraq, there are more Shia than Sunni. And that's not a smart fight to start with those militias. It's an invitation for Iran. Question is which bigotry takes precedence: Shia versus Sunni, or the basic Arab racism (vs Persians in this instance).
