#3 Yes, it is indeed a fascinating story. It's a shame the 'bad apples' get so much press and media coverage. American heroes like U.S. Marshall Bass Reeves deserve better.

#4 It's a crying shame that the only movie that seems to have been made about Bass Reeves was a low-budget and barely visible indy production that seems to have vanished from everything but IMDB ... while c**p fantasies like Django Unchained get the big-budget treatment from a hack like Tarantino. Seriously, Marshal Reeves has those "don't screw with me" eyes and a record that most lawmen (as contrasted with what we have seen of late) should envy and emulate.
