#1 Years ago I "opted out" of the public education systems for our children, but that did NOT prevent me from having to pay the bloody property taxes for the corrupt, unionized, jobs-for-life systems and "free" nanny state breakfasts and lunches for the broods of others. No regrets regarding my decision however. None at all.

#2 Besoeker - we did the same thing with our youngest daughter from third to sixth grade. We also supplemented her education once she returned to public schools. It seems to have worked pretty well for her. She at least has read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, something most children (or adults) haven't done.

#3 Yep state "health-care" can best be thought of as the nationalisation of the bodies of everyone in the country.
