#2 I remember hearing that during WW2 the Germans tried to flood our nation with counterfeit $50 Bills, they were so good that the only way to tell was by serial number, and the Treasury finaly decided"What the Hell" and left them in circulation.

#3 Presumably, new tecnology would be able to ID those old counterfeit $50's now. They'd be both very collectible but also very illegal to possess...

#5 Jim: Given FDR's Fed guys' perpetual problems with getting enough currency in circulation - google the "vallar" for a mid-Thirties example - the Nazis were probably doing us a favor.
