#1 The same type of people who left them free to carry out whatever they may be planning want to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay.

#2 I hope these culturally over-sensitive dipwads don't forget about alerting airport security personnel to require the removal of all burqas at boarding gate checkpoints. How pathetic that the release of these new suspects' names actually represents a huge leap forward in their law enforcement practices.

#3 Opposition MPs said it was clear control orders could not protect the public.

Damn right - but I think that internment could help. Sometimes I think we deserve a 9/11 here in London - just hope it's not in this part of town.

#4 Nobody deserves a 9/11, Howard. But a car bomb or some grisly murders wouldn't surprise me. And yes, Security would be wise to forbid burqas and face veils in public until the War on Terror has been decisively won (although of course we're no longer using that term -- 'cause if we don't name it, it isn't happening).

#6 Early afternoon, surely, Howard UK? What odds your new PM will be less gentle and understanding than dear Tony?

#7 Gordon Brown will roll over like a poodle for the Islamofascists. However, the Tories under Cameron will be little better - they're completely mired in PC rhetoric these days.

#9 Howard should brush up on his Spanish and his gardening skills...then he could come to the US...

#10 The last time I visited the States it took nearly 12 hours to convince the nice men at customs to let me in. I have family on Long Island - fancy being the deckchair assistant on Jones Beach. Mmmm.

#11 I see the "control orders" in Britain work as well as our technique here in US when dealing with illegals. They appear in court and are told to come back in 60 days to determine if they will recieve deportation orders. Of course, they all willfully return to court. None do. And yet, we can't seem to change this little technique of enforcment. Even a child of five playing a game, wouldn't release someone after they were caught.

#13 "Catch & release" is one of the key strategies dedicated to losing the War on Terror, both domestically and abroad.

They're not expected to show up. It's all done with a nod and a wink. By design. If by some twisted miracle someone did show up, it would throw the whole court into a tizzie. The butchering of the great nation proceeds apace.
