In their defense, August is the usual vacation month in the DPRK, where everywhere leaves the city, heads out to the country, and collects all the grass clippings and bark shavings they can find for the upcoming winter.

#5 "Ulji Focus Lens?" Who comes up with these codenames? I mean, come on! Think of the classic code names: "Overlord," "Dragoon," "Husky," "Olympic," "Torch," "Avalanche." They all have that bold, decisive quality to them. "Ulji Focus Lens" -- sounds like a cheapass third-party accessory for that no-name Pentax-thread 35mm camera you got in the duty-free shop in Ulaan Bator.

This is really tame and lame compared to the KCNA I used to know and love. I really miss the "sea of fire" and splittle-spewing rhetoric of old.

#9 Ulji Focus Lens or "UFL" as it is know in the states is an abbreviation for some Korean words. The "U" is the last name of some famous Korean warrior and I don't remember about the rest. I thought it was pretty gay the first time I heard it too....
