#1 THE Dominican Republic has decided to withdraw its 300 troops from Iraq in the wake of Spain's decision to pull out, defense secretary General Jose Miguel Soto Jimenez said. âThe armed forces' troops in Iraq will leave in a few days, in the next week,â the general said after talks with President Hipolito Mejia. They had originally been scheduled to leave in July.

#2 Another good reason for returning would-be Haitian refugees to Haiti. If they want to emigrate, let them go to the Dominican Republic. It's just a short walk and these political milquetoasts won't be able to say no.

#3 I say cut the Dominca a little slack, they provided 300 troops more than Turkey.
