Under the spooky, unstable, and (to the American mind anyhow) unfathomably complex system of Italian Parliamentary democracy, the Northern League and the Reform Party are currently running Italy under a "power sharing" arrangement. Which, considering that both parties are a little nutty, should sound bad.... until you consider the other Italian parties. Like the Communist one.

One of the problems with relying on prejudice and bigotry to drive the masses is that the instigators themselves can start believing it, and will therefore be blindsided when its predictions turn out to be inaccurate.
The leaders of the previous Reich, A. Hitler and H. Goering, made the same kind of mistake. They did not expect much from the soft, decadent, and racially corrupt Americans, and planned their war strategy accordingly. Both lived to regret it, though not for long.

In response to this Rantburg post regarding US hate murders post-9-11. To me, this suggests that you believe that murder of a minority member is a "worse offence" than that of a random person who cannot be identified with a minority. If that's not what you meant, I'd like you to clarify, please.

I posted that article. I'd have thought my observation "Justice's blindfold slips in Greece" would give away the fact that I was appalled by the judge's display of partiality.
