#1 Couldn't he have gone to Mexico or someplace? I'd give the guy asylum but if you're trying to undo the widely held belief that all pro-business and pro-trade leaders are simply puppets of Yanqui Imperialismo, this move doesn't seem to accomplish much.

#2 So now twelve people dead in a riot are "victims of genocide"? Does this mean we can charge the people of South-Central LA with genocide for the 50 people who died during the 1992 LA riots?

Or is this yet another example of the left destroying a word by using it as a club against their enemies?

#3 Tokyo Taro--His individual rights are absolute. If the people of Bolivia choose to believe he's a Yankee puppet, that's their problem, not his. Mr. Sanchez de Lozada should not sacrifice his welfare on their behalf.

#4 He is guilty. He is guilty of making a coherent proposal to stimulate their moribund economy. For this crime, he shall be sentenced to hang out in the Doll House and oggle women 1/4 of his age.

The guy tried to do something rational in Bolivia. He had to know it wouldn't work. The damn country has annointed the union head of the drug growers association as their leader. At least Noriega was in management.
