#2 It bears repeating that new Egypt's official diplomatic posture vis-a-vis the US is far more hostile than the Soviet Union's was. And at that time the Soviet Union was subject to embargo and trade restrictions. No sane politician proposed that Americans civil rights be restricted to appease communist sensitivities.
After the Morsi regime permitted the attack on the US embassy in Cairo there was no protest except for Romney's initial criticism of the embassy's statement. The political class then told Romney to shut up and he complied.
The US should diplomatically boycott Egypt until Egypt officially apologizes for the attack on the embassy, and declares that Egypt recognizes US freedom and sovereignty unequivocally and without reservation.
Others like North Korea, China, Russia and maybe even Argentina are taking notice of Western provocative weakness and total lack of self respect. This policy is dangerous!

#3 This article represents that O and Hilarity were the only active agents in the region brokering this 'truce'.
I wonder if the agreement wasn't between bigger dogs (US, Russia, Iran) wherein Egypt was traded to the Muslims (Iran) in exchange for stopping the Israeli invasion that would push the Palos into the sea, Syria or Egypt.
Morsi didn't take long after the settlement to declare himself absolute dictator.

#4 It's Debka so salt to taste but Debka is reporting that Obama promised US troops in the Sinai next week.
