#1 I'm still thinking camo-type or a closet one. Definately deeply sketzzo from the business card from God.
Also Fred has he ever fired more than once at a target? Mary Lu

#2 All I've ever heard of is a single shot for each. But the ranges I've seen have been 100-150 yards - not even close to scope range.

#3 Still, although he's apparently carried the weapon in a long duffle-type bag, I'd bet it's not an AR-15.... sounds like a hunting rifle...bolt-action (amateur-profiler! take with a LARGE grain of salt)...shell casing should confirm

#4 The Brits placed over 2,000,000 videocameras throughout their country during the I.R.A. terror. Americans may have to submit to that type of invasion of privacy, if the sniper is not caught

#5 [Putting on Amatuer Profiler hat] Okay, 100-200 meters. He's shot mid and long range target work-- probably at a range. Or at least a hell of a lot of cans on a fence-rail. (which I doubt.) If he's working without a scope (unless he's got a baby-scope, the people he's killing are nothing more target practice in his twisted mind. OR (another thought...) he's shot big game in the mountains.

I wish Moose would let loose with some of the info so we could know who this clown really is. Mary Lu

#6 Said it on Quick's site yesterday and so forgive me for repeating it here, but this whole "this guy is into New Age" seems highly unlikely to me. The Death card is not indicitive of death, rather a paradigm shift. The Devil, The Aeon, or Judgement would be the appropriate card(s) if this individual had proper working knowledge of anything metaphysical. Naturally, the media has taken this detail and ran with it, but IMHO, this evidence was either planted by someone, the guy isn't even 1/4 as smart as everyone seems to think he is, or he left it to confuse and/or make an attempt at a wholly inaccurate statement that ultimately has nothing to do with the taking of a life. The media is glaringly ignorant of all things related to so-called alternative religions, so I wouldn't suggest buying into much of their crap. And if the FBI, CIA et al are using this as part of the profile, they may be barking up the wrong tree, though possibly in the right forest. Just had to vent....MP

#7 If the info is true, I agree it's not an Islamist extremist (or plural of them), but militant pagan has a point there. It's not someone who knows much about Tarot symbolism either. More likely just someone who thought using that card was "cool", or someone who thinks it will throw people off 'the scent' (ie, someone who has been known to rant against such things).

The guy also requested the media not reveal the card, so that's probably why Moose was pissed (I suspect the guy said "don't" because he wanted it revealed.)

The Islamists are superstitious enough that they think even handling Tarot cards is evil, and saying "I am God" would be so blasphemous as to doom them to an eternity of hell. So I think it's very unlikely (assuming that card was left by the shooter).
