#1 confused reports in the media. Kenyan forces are WHERE exactly? more info needed. seems unlikely that al-Shabaab quit that town so easily.

#2 seems unlikely that al-Shabaab quit that town so easily.
Seems they have raider. Somalia Islamists abandon Kismayo amid AU attack Al-Shabab spokesman Ali Mohamud Rage told AFP news agency: "The military command of Shabab mujahideen ordered a tactical retreat at midnight."
Speaking to Reuters, the same spokesman confirmed the withdrawal, but added: "The enemies have not yet entered the town. Let them enter Kismayo, which will soon turn into a battlefield.

#3 The thing is, jihadi groups are fond of abandoning the field when attacked effectively, then returning to torment those who welcomed the temporary liberators...or at least that is how the jihadis see the arc of history.
