#6 Yup AlanC, that is true.

1. An example of the aftermath of the Malmedy massacre is the written order from the HQ of the 328th US Army Infantry Regiment, dated December 21, 1944: "No SS troops or paratroopers will be taken prisoner but will be shot on sight."
2. During the Civil War, Southerners hung Northern bridge burners in the Knoxville area as soon as they were found.
3. Germans during WWII who came to our shores via sub with the idea of sabotage were executed.

I hope we have not lost our will in these times.
