#1 I'm in the Global Cooling camp, myself. North America is tilting upward because of the weight of all that snow in northern Canada.

I dunno, I was thinking it was the huge mass of Chinese on the other side of the planet who were throwing the planet axis off kilter. Dynamics problem, not a GW or climate change problem.

#5 "If you have a dock that you built, the ocean appears to be going down," that is assuming you check at the same time everyday (adjusted by the almanic for high and low tide) and the water shows no waves so you can get an accurate measurement to the MM and your dock was built on cement connected to mainland so the pilings don't settle in the mud or sand.

They used mm a month instead of 12mm a year or 120 mm every decade because it defies the obvious visual non-instrument checks people are more likely to do.
