#2 I wonder how many fewer crime victims and prison we would have had not the 'Great Society' displaced Big Brother for actual fathers. As in, ladies you'd better find a man to stick around and care for your kids before making them.

#5 Liberal in-laws criticize me for opposing abortion and, at the same time, opposing costly federal programs to aid poor, particularly single mom, families.

"You'd rather let those babies starve than have them aborted?" they ask.

"Yep. That way, the blood is not on my hands. But, further, maybe they mamas think twice before making them."

#7 #5, I've always said that I would support these programs if there were ever any evidence that they do any good at all. There is precious little on either side (which I think does tell us something); but the ones that exist, such as the Obama HHS' study of Head Start, seem to indicate that they are useless at best. THAT is why I don't support these programs.
