#2 Okay, the current method for doing AI is by doing a lot of training sets (it's why China caches all the conversations and texts of its citizens, and why Google/Alphabet keeps Alexa active, even if you tell it to shut up: doing so generates huge amounts of training sets).

If the researchers only had to use one data set to figure out there was an issue with detecting "people of darker hue", then the training sets need to be expanded.

Bug found. Bug needs to be solved.

#3 the sensors and cameras used in self-driving cars, are better at detecting ~~people with lighter skin tones~~ high contrast objects.

An obvious technical fix to to genetically modify dark-skinned people to glow in the dark.
