#1 I once registered and voted as a Democrat. The 2 events that completely changed my thinking were:

1. The entire Democratic party pretending that "Every man of power cheats on his wife--its completely normal."

&

2. 9/11, when the Democratically-driven press fell all over themselves urging people like me not to "jump to conclusions" about the animals that committed the act (and those that sponsored it).

I've never voted for another Democrat once the 2nd of those events took place.

#2 Lyndon Johnson, jimmuh carter and Bill Clinton taught me all I need to know about Democrats. By the time Baraq Obama got elected there was nothing he could do that would surprise me.

#4 I once registered and voted as a Democrat too, Crusader. In North Carolina, where I lived at the time, you had to be registered as a party member to be able to vote in the primary.

I registered Democrat, voted in the presidential primary AGAINST George Wallace, and then re-registered as an independent.

Considering my motivation, I didn't even feel dirty.
