#5  White mittens only, natch.

Also... the "one" finger figures prominently in "monkey's bunghole tat" meme. "Two" suggests not just peace, but the pacifying scissors of castration. Yoiks! "Palm" equals paper, specifically the Constitution that enables and enforces systematic oppression. "Fist" sounds just like "kissed." "Satan hand" obviously depicts a white rabbit. It's almost like the whole world is pregnant (EEEEK!) with symbolism.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
How US authorities tracked down the North Korean hacker behind WannaCry
[Zednet] US authorities put together four years worth of malware samples, domain names, email and social media accounts to track down one of the Lazarus Group hackers.

On September 6, the US Department of Justice formally charged a North Korean programmer for some of the biggest cyber-attacks in recent years.

According to a 179-page DOJ indictment, the US believes that Park Jin Hyok, a 34-year-old North Korean, is one of the many individuals behind a long string of malware attacks and intrusions, such as:

- The WannaCry ransomware outbreak of 2017;
- Attempts of hacking US defense contractor Lockheed Martin in 2016;
- The 2016 Bangladesh Central Bank cyber-heist;
- The breach at Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2014;
- Breaches at US movie theatre chains AMC Theatres and Mammoth Screen in 2014;
- A long string of hacks of South Korean news media organizations, banks, and military entities across several years, and;
- Hacks of banks all over the world from 2015 through 2018.
Also: Free, easy to use, and available to anyone: The powerful malware hiding in plain sight on the open web

The DOJ says Park was an active member of a government-sponsored hacking team known in the private cyber-security sector as the Lazarus Group.

But in reality, officials say, he was also a government employee working for a government-owned company named Chosun Expo Joint Venture (Chosun Expo hereinafter).

Investigators say that Chosun Expo was founded as a joint venture between the South and North Korean governments, and was meant to be an e-commerce and lottery website.

South Korean officials pulled out of the deal, but the North Korean government continued to manage the company through various individuals, branching out in different online services, such as online gaming and gambling. The company had offices in North Korea and China, and Park was sent to work for many years in the company's Chinese office in the city of Dalian.

There, investigators said he worked under titles of "developer" and "online game developer," listing the ability to code in Java, JSP, PHP, Flash, but also Visual C++, the language in which most Lazarus Group malware was written in.

Ohio State employs 88 diversity-related staffers at a cost of $7.3M annually

Ohio State University employs nearly 90 diversity-related administrative employees, which costs taxpayers in the Buckeye State about $7.3 million in salaries and benefits annually, according to an analysis by The College Fix.

The 88 administrators receive an estimated $7.3 million in total compensation, which includes $5.38 million in salaries and an estimated $1.89 million in fringe benefits.
And they all need to produce results to justify their paychecks.

Beto's Campaign Tries to Get a VFW Hall to Take Down Their American Flags
[TEXAS Senate Race]
The campaign team rented a VFW Hall for a rally & insisted the veterans take down their American flags before the rally

Bob O'Rourke, Ted Cruz's Irish-American opponent who has culturally appropriated the name Beto to sound hispanic, has been in full defense of protestors taking a knee to the national anthem. Now he's going directly after the American flag.

O'Rourke rented out a Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Navasota, TX to hold a campaign rally. According to VFW Post 4006 Commander Carl Dry, O'Rourke's campaign insisted the VFW Hall take down its American flags.

“I do not normally attend rental events, but I attended Saturday to make sure things ran smoothly,” said Dry, who noted there were only two requests he could not allow at the VFW Post. “They wanted to open the doors (to the Flight Deck Lounge) and I couldn’t allow that and they wanted to take the flags down, I didn’t only say no, I said hell no, you don’t take the flags off the wall. I can’t believe any American would ask us to do that and I don’t know why he wanted them down or what he was going to put up instead.”

This seems to be a pattern with O'Rourke. He supports protesting the national anthem, he wants to take people's guns away, and his campaign team sees no problem asking a group of veterans to take down their American flags so he can have an American flag free rally.

This is an instinct thing, folks. When your campaign staff does that, it is a reflection of the candidate himself. It is more and more clear that Bob O'Rourke is not just okay with protesting our flag and national anthem, but he's okay with getting rid of them altogether.

Child Soldiers Still Being Recruited in South Sudan, UN Reports
[Bloomberg] Children are still being forced to join armed groups in South Sudan, even as others are released and warring sides make steps toward ending the five-year civil war, a United Nations envoy said.

"We are not seeing any progression," Virginia Gamba, the UN special representative for children and armed conflict, told reporters Friday in the capital, Juba. She said about 1,200 minors were recruited by unspecified groups last year and such activity is continuing in 2018, although about 900 have been freed.

Both South Sudanese rebels and pro-government fighters have forced more than 19,000 children to take up arms since the conflict began in December 2013, according to the UN Children’s Fund. The UN has repeatedly accused both sides of committing atrocities. The main warring parties signed a series of peace deals over the past month.

Is Menendez Too Crooked Even for New Jersey?
[NR] His Senate seat hinges on whom Garden State voters hate more: him or Trump.

This election is a tale of two chambers. In the House, Democrats are primed to make large gains, sweeping into a majority thanks to suburban voters who are sick of President Donald Trump’s antics. In the Senate, on the other hand, the Republicans appear to be in good shape, thanks to a highly favorable map that includes such GOP pickup opportunities as North Dakota, Missouri, Florida, and New Jersey.

Wait . . . New Jersey?

No, that is not a typo, nor is it a fever dream of a conservative deeply invested in the idea of keeping Chuck Schumer in the minority. New Jersey may very well be in play this year because the Democrats have renominated Senator Robert Menendez, easily the most crooked member of the upper chamber today, and one who must rank in the top tier through its whole history (which is really saying something!).

Last year, Menendez went on trial for corruption over his cozy relationship with Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida ophthalmologist who is himself serving a lengthy sentence for defrauding Medicare to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. The specifics of Menendez’s alleged crimes are too unseemly to be detailed on the e-pages of what is a family magazine. Suffice to say that he was accused of doing favors in government for Melgen in exchange for personal luxuries and kickbacks.

Menendez managed to escape the slammer thanks to a hung jury in his trial, and more generally the inevitable problem that prosecutors face when they take corruption cases to court: What is an innocent friendship in politics, and what is a quid pro quo? Menendez’s fellow senators, mind you, were not so epistemologically hamstrung. They can tell a crook when they see one, which is why he was "severely admonished" by the bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee and ordered to pay back the cash value of some of the gifts he accepted.

Even by the standards of New Jersey ‐ hardly the most ethical of state political systems ‐ Menendez’s defalcations are pretty eye-popping. If he were running for reelection in virtually any other state or any other cycle, he’d be deep in the hole. But this is New Jersey, where crooked pols go hand in hand with Springsteen anthems. And it is 2018, when voters appear to be less than enthusiastic about electing Republicans.

Gunman in Cincinnati bank shooting that killed 3 identified as 29-year-old Ohio resident
[ABC] Authorities have identified the gunman who allegedly killed three people and wounded two others at a bank in downtown Cincinnati as a 29-year-old Ohio resident.

Omar Perez, 29, acted alone when he opened fire at the headquarters for the Fifth Third Bank near the Fountain Square, Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac said in a press conference Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 9:10 a.m. local time about an "active shooter" at the bank, Isaac said.

Perez. of Northbend, Ohio, is not a former or current employee of the bank, Isaac said. It is unclear how he got to Fountain Square, but he entered multiple businesses before going to the bank, according to the police chief.

The suspect had opened fire in the building's loading dock before continuing into the lobby area and firing more shots, Isaac told reporters at a press conference Thursday morning.

Update at 8:30 a.m. EDT from Cincinnati.com:
Cincinnati shooting: Omar Santa Perez had a history of employment troubles

Police said they believe Santa Perez has been in Cincinnati since at least 2015.

Santa Perez's family was shocked at his actions. A former colleague remembers a quiet worker who never showed anger. His neighbors saw a man that was becoming increasingly bitter after struggling to keep a job.

Santa Perez is a U.S. citizen born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, family members said.

Yudy Martinez Perez broke down crying on the kitchen floor of her Forest Park home Thursday afternoon when she learned that her nephew was the shooter who took three lives at the Fifth Third Center.

Santa Perez, 29, used to live in the basement of his aunt's house. Martinez said she was his godmother; her sister is Santa Perez's mother.

Social media indicates he may have attended Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, but school officials could not be reached to confirm this.

Records show he lived all over the country. There's a trail of activity in South Carolina, Florida and Ohio. He most recently lived in North Bend locally.
North Bend is a suburb of Cincinnati.
Santa Perez's aunt said her nephew held various jobs and was currently working, though his aunt and her family did not know where.

“He was very quiet,” said Martinez, who speaks only limited English. “I do not know why. I do not know why.”

His record is a smattering of low-level offenses: entering or refusing to leave the premises in Greenville, South Carolina; marijuana possession in Palm Beach, Florida; traffic offenses in Lake Worth, Florida; traffic offenses in Deerfield Beach, Florida; disorderly conduct in Coconut Creek, Florida. He also has a traffic violation in Cincinnati in 2015 for driving with an expired license plate.

In North Bend, police searched an apartment complex where Santa Perez reportedly lived.

Santa Perez also has hopped from job to job. Records show he's been let go from companies at least twice.

Santa Perez filed a lawsuit in 2017 against CNBC Universal Media LLC and TD Ameritrade Holding Corp., alleging that the companies uncovered his identity and published private details about his life after extensive investigation of his personal devices.

On June 25, 2018, Federal Magistrate Karen Litkovitz in her recommendation to dismiss the case wrote that Santa Perez's allegations were "rambling, difficult to decipher and borders on delusional."

Several residents here gave similar accounts of their interactions with Santa Perez, describing an increasingly bitter and reclusive man.

He moved in about six months ago, according to Steve Conner, but never returned Conner’s pleasantries.

Conner often saw Perez “walking down the street, looking pissed off at everybody.”

Christina Fischer, another resident at the apartment building, said Perez rarely talked to anyone.

“He kind of would hide when you’d come up the stairs,” Fischer said. “He didn’t want anybody near him.”

Multiple residents said Perez’s green Subaru had broken down months ago, and he’d occasionally make a three-mile trek on foot into the nearby village of Addyston, where there’s a bus stop into Cincinnati.

Novichok dose 'could have killed 4K': Security officials reveal Russian assassins' perfume bottle had enough nerve agent to cause 'significant loss of life'
[MAIL] The perfume bottle full of Novichok used to target Sergei and Yulia Skripal contained enough of the nerve agent to kill 4,000 people, it was claimed today.

A security official said the two Russian agents accused of carrying out the Salisbury attack had brought enough Novichok to cause 'significant loss of life'.

The UK's envoy to the UN yesterday accused Moscow of 'playing dice' with British lives after the finger was pointed at Vladimir Putin and the GRU.

The attack left the Skripals critically ill and led to the death of British mother Dawn Sturgess, but the nerve agent could have cost thousands more lives, The Times reported.

And security sources have also claimed the police and secret service are probing whether the novichok hidden in a high-tech perfume bottle entered Britain in a diplomatic bag then smuggled into the Russian embassy in London.

#3  The names Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirovs appeared on the passports but are thought to be aliases. As P2K said "You have the method, but you don't have the means. The manner of delivery is the critical part." It would seem that the delivery is uncertain at this time. It is thought it was put on the doorknob. Did anyone see these two putting Novichok on the doorknob? Any video surveillance video? It would seem that there would be some risk to Petrov and Boshirovs without some minimal protection to handle the stuff and apply it without killing yourself in the process. I'd say we still have bupkis at this point in time. I've always been suspicious of this story and it hasn't gotten any better with time.

Charlottesville Jury Fines Man $1 for Punching White Nationalist
[Rolling Stone] Jeffrey Winder was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in February for punching white-nationalist organizer Jason Kessler in August 2017. On Tuesday, a jury ruled that his punishment will be a whopping $1 fine.

Kessler attempted to hold a press conference in Charlottesville, Virginia, the day after Heather Heyer was killed by a white supremacist who drove his car into a group of people protesting the white nationalist rally organized by Kessler’s "Unite the Right" group. Winder was among the protesters who showed up to stop Kessler from making a statement, punching him in the back of the head as others booed and shouted over him.

Winder faced a maximum possible sentence of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine for the punch, which was caught on tape by the local NBC affiliate. He appealed his misdemeanor assault conviction, and while the jury upheld the guilty verdict, they determined that he should serve no jail time and should only be fined $1, sending a clear message that Winder was justified in lashing out at Kessler.

Winder’s attorney, James Abrenio, argued that Kessler brought the punch on himself by holding a press conference while the city was reeling from the so-recent death of Heyer, arguing that he was "going out of his way" to "profit off tragedy"

The Democratic Socialists of America and Their Anti-Semitism Problem
"Like most American Jews, I was raised with the delusion that Israel was a safe haven for me," Julia Salazar wrote on Mondoweiss, an anti-Semitic hate site, while denouncing the Jewish State.

Salazar’s rant had appeared on a racist site whose creator had complained that his publication had been banned from DailyKos because of "my repeated insistence on talking about the large Jewish presence in the American establishment and the importance of Jewish money in the political process" and one of whose editors had declared, "I do not consider myself an anti-Semite, but I can understand why some are."

In reality, Salazar had been baptized as a Catholic, her uncle was a Jesuit priest, and her brother made it clear that no one in the family was Jewish. The Jewish part of her past was as fake as the rest.

And it was this biography that the Democratic Socialists of America candidate was running on.
Because as a Jew she can get extra points by attacking Israel? Would it really balance the points she'll lose from "Afro American", "Hispanic", and "educated" voters?

Pat Buchanan: Regime Change -- American Style
[Toenhall] The campaign to overturn the 2016 election and bring down President Trump shifted into high gear this week.

Inspiration came Saturday morning from the altar of the National Cathedral where our establishment came to pay homage to John McCain.

Gathered there were all the presidents from 1993 to 2017, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Vice Presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney, Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Henry Kissinger, the leaders of both houses of Congress, and too many generals and admirals to list.

Striding into the pulpit, Obama delivered a searing indictment of the man undoing his legacy:

"So much of our politics, our public life, our public discourse can seem small and mean and petty, trafficking in bombast and insult and phony controversies and manufactured outrage. ... It's a politics that pretends to be brave and tough but in fact is born of fear."
The fear of the "deplorables" who see themselves slowly, but surely, becoming second class citizens - while still expected to maintain their betters standards of living?
Speakers praised McCain's willingness to cross party lines, but Democrats took away a new determination: From here on out, confrontation!

Tuesday morning, as Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court began, Democrats disrupted the proceedings and demanded immediate adjournment, as scores of protesters shouted and screamed to halt the hearings.

...Wednesday came leaks in The Washington Post from Bob Woodward's new book, attributing to Chief of Staff John Kelly and Gen. James Mattis crude remarks on the president's intelligence, character and maturity, and describing the Trump White House as a "crazytown" led by a fifth- or sixth-grader.

Kelly and Mattis both denied making the comments.

Thursday came an op-ed in The New York Times by an anonymous "senior official" claiming to be a member of the "resistance ... working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his (Trump's) agenda."

...For what is afoot here is something America specializes in -- regime change. Only the regime our establishment and media mean to change is the government of the United States. What is afoot is the overthrow of America's democratically elected head of state.

...The methodology is familiar. After a years-long assault on the White House and president by a special prosecutor's office, the House takes up impeachment, while a collaborationist press plays its traditional supporting role.

Presidents are wounded, disabled or overthrown, and Pulitzers all around.

No one suggests Richard Nixon was without sin in trying to cover up the Watergate break-in. But no one should delude himself into believing that the overthrow of that president, not two years after he won the greatest landslide in U.S. history, was not an act of vengeance by a hate-filled city that ran a sword through Nixon for offenses it had covered up or brushed under the rug in the Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson years.

...So, where are we headed?

...2019 looks to be the year of bellum omnium contra omnes, the war of all against all. Entertaining, for sure, but how many more of these coups d'etat can the Republic sustain before a new generation says enough of all this?

Arabia
Twenty-Six Wounded as Saudi Intercepts Yemen Rebel Missile
[AnNahar] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
shot down a ballistic missile fired by Yemen's Houthis on Wednesday, with shrapnel leaving 26 people maimed, a Riyadh-led coalition fighting the Death Eaters said.

Two children were among the maimed from the missile that was intercepted over the southern Saudi city of Najran
a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen. It is the capital of Najran Province and a favored target of Houthirocket forces....
, said a coalition statement published by the Saudi state media.

The Iran-backed Huthis have in recent months ramped up missile attacks against Saudi Arabia, which Riyadh usually says it intercepts.

The Huthis' al-Masirah TV said Wednesday's strike was targeted at a Saudi National Guard camp in the border city.

The attack brings the tally to more than 185 rebel missiles launched since 2015, according to the coalition, which that year joined the Yemeni government's fight against Houthis.

Yemen Peace Talks in Balance as Parties Trade Ultimatums
[AnNahar] Scheduled peace talks in Geneva between Yemen's government and Houthis hung in the balance Thursday as the two sides traded ultimatums and a U.N. envoy scrambled to mediate.

The rebel delegation, still in Sanaa, insisted the U.N. meets three demands before it travels to Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
, prompting government representatives already in Geneva to give the Huthis a 24-hour deadline or threatening to leave.

U.N. envoy Martin Griffiths, who earlier said the planned meeting offered a "flickering signal of hope" for an end to the years-long conflict, had to postpone the start of the talks.

The Geneva talks are meant to be the first since 2016, when 108 days of negotiations between the government of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi and rebels failed to yield a deal.

The Huthis control the capital Sanaa and much of northern Yemen, while a Saudi-led coalition which backs Hadi's government controls the country's airspace.

Led by Foreign Minister Khaled al-Yamani, a Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
government delegation arrived in Switzerland on Wednesday.

But on what was meant to be the opening day of talks, the rebels issued an ultimatum from Sanaa, saying they would not join until the U.N. meets three conditions that it had already agreed to.

They want the transportation of maimed rebels to Oman for medical care, the repatriation of rebels who have already received treatment there, and a guarantee that the Huthi delegation will be allowed to return to Sanaa after the Geneva talks.

The government delegation said Thursday it would wait only until midday (1000 GMT) on Friday.

"We have this scheduled meeting since two months ago ... Today we are alone," delegation member Hamza Alkamali told journalists in Geneva, and claimed the rebels clearly "don't want peace."

Clearance for a flight carrying rebel delegates and maimed was "issued three days ago," he insisted.

"We want them to come, and we are pushing them to come," Alkamali said. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
"we will leave, if they don’t come... in the next 24 hours.

Griffiths had told journalists he would begin informal consultations with the government team while the rebels make their way to Switzerland.

If and when the two parties do eventually meet, he said, there would be no "formal negotiations", merely exploratory talks on how best to get everyone around a negotiating table.

All previous attempts to resolve the Yemen war have failed.

Griffiths is the U.N.'s third Yemen envoy since 2014, when Huthis overran the capital and drove Hadi's government into exile.

The following year, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and its allies formed a powerful regional military coalition to back Hadi.

The conflict has left nearly 10,000 people dead and pushed the Arab world's most impoverished country to the brink of famine.

On Thursday, the Saudi-led coalition acknowledged there may have been "collateral damage" from August 23 strikes the U.N. said killed 26 children south of the port of Hodeida.

On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia shot down a ballistic missile fired by Houthis, with shrapnel wounding 26 people including two children, the coalition said.

Apartheid in black and white: survivalism, not racism
[WND] Monomaniacal Westerners ‐ they have one thing on their minds: it begins with an "R" ‐ have come to think and speak of apartheid as a theory of white supremacy.

It was not.

The South African policy of "separate development," as it was admittedly euphemized, was not a theory of racial supremacy, but a strategy for survival.

But first: To perceive the fundamental way in which the Afrikaner and American creeds differed early on we must first examine the former’s ideas of what a nation and a state were, respectively.

America, being a rib from the British ribcage, was built on liberal individualism; Afrikaner culture was first and foremost grounded in the survival of the Volk.
See 'Battle of Blood River.'
This is not to say that Afrikaners were not fiercely individualistic; they were, even more so than early Americans.

For the Boers, however, the nation encompassed "the land, the culture, the terrain, the people." The state, on the other hand, had no such prestige for the Boers, who regarded it as just "the coercive apparatus of bureaucrats and politicians." Against this apparatus, above all, the Boer rebelled.

The 19th century found him still resisting majority rule, by which time Americans had thoroughly submitted to it. Although the Boer’s outlook remained passionately political, his preference was for parochial self-rule.

Britain
British Jews Have Reason to Fear Corbyn's Labour Party
h/t Instapundit
[WSJ] Lord Jonathan Sacks isn’t known to throw around accusations. So when the Commonwealth’s former chief rabbi weighed in on Jeremy Corbyn, leader of Britain’s opposition Labour Party, people took notice.

Rabbi Sacks last week described Mr. Corbyn as "an anti-Semite" who has "given support to racists, terrorists and dealers of hate." He called one Corbyn comment "the most offensive statement made by a senior British politician since Enoch Powell’s 1968 ’Rivers of Blood’ speech," a vicious anti-immigration diatribe. Rabbi Sacks was referring to Mr. Corbyn’s 2013 description of British "Zionists": "They don’t want to study history and . . . they don’t understand English irony either." On Sunday Rabbi Sacks doubled down, telling the BBC that the prospect of Mr. Corbyn as prime minister was a "danger" to British Jewry.

...For his part, Mr. Corbyn claimed in an interview: "I’m not an anti-Semite in any way, never have been, never will be."

His actions and words tell a very different story. He was long associated‐unwittingly, he says, with Holocaust denier Paul Eisen. In 2012 he approved of a mural that grotesquely depicted Jewish bankers, and he did not reverse himself until earlier this year. He was long a member in Facebook groups that featured anti-Jewish conspiracies.

His worst blind spot, though, is his failure to distinguish between criticism of Israeli policies and an irrational and thoroughly bigoted hatred of Israel itself. It’s an obsession that has led him to align with those who oppose the idea of Jewish self-determination in the Levant, as well as those who have made their purpose to seek Israel’s destruction, and even those who have murdered or championed the murder of Israelis and their supporters.

In 2010 Mr. Corbyn hosted an event on Holocaust Memorial Day in which the Israeli government was compared to the Nazis. In 2012 he appeared on Iranian television to celebrate the release of Palestinian terrorists by Israel in a painful prisoner exchange with Hamas. He referred to the returning convicts as "brothers."

Study: If Trends Continue, All Men May Be Infertile By End Of Century
[Federalist] Americans are having fewer babies. In 2018, age-controlled fertility may fall to near the lowest level in our history. We aren’t alone in this: fertility rates have fallen across much of the western world, despite widespread economic expansion.

The main reasons for this are sociological: declining marriage, rising cost of childbearing, and related factors that amount to cultural norms and practices.

Recently, scientists have raised a different alarm bell: human biology may be changing. For decades, some scientists have been arguing that men are producing less sperm than they used to, but these studies were plagued by small sample size, non-randomly selected men, or other methodological problems.

Last summer, however, a research team in Israel (the country at the forefront of reproductive technology) assembled a massive dataset, combining hundreds of prior studies, creating a sample of tens of thousands of men across decades. They found that male sperm counts are indeed in decline.

While their findings aren’t universally accepted, they have succeeded in persuading a large number of former skeptics. The sample sizes are sufficiently large, the extra checks for possible counterarguments sufficiently robust, and the findings sufficiently clear in the data that it’s time to take seriously that men really may be losing some degree of their biological fertility.

AG Sessions to Examine Antitrust Violations, Censorship by Tech Corps.

Abbas Threatens to sever relations with Israel if it negotiates with HAMAS
[JP] Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas threatened to sever ties with Israel if the state makes an agreement with Hamas, Palestinian sources told Al Hayat, a London based newspaper on Friday.

According to the report, the sources said that Abbas's position caused Egypt to place the internal Palestinian reconciliation at the top of its list of priorities and to reject the "calm first" option.

Abbas said that he had met with Shin Bet director Nadav Argaman in early September. Argaman had tried to persuade Abbas not to sabotage the efforts to arrange a settlement between Israel and Hamas and to ensure a Palestinian reconciliation, according to an Israeli source on Monday. According to the report, Argaman told Abu Mazen that this is a historic opportunity and it would be a shame to waste it.

Because of this change in priories, Hamas might be forced to seek alternatives other than direct talks with Israel towards a calm agreement, including possibly reaching a truce with Israel but having PLO delegate Azzam al-Ahmad sign the agreement.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Federal Prosecutors Impanel Grand Jury in Andrew McCabe Probe
[Breitbart] Federal prosecutors reportedly impaneled a grand jury several months ago as part of an investigation into whether former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe intentionally misled investigators about improperly leaking information to a reporter.

According to The Washington Post, at least one witness was summoned to testify by the grand jury, in what is believed to be a sign that the probe has "intensified" in recent months.

"The presence of the grand jury shows prosecutors are treating the matter seriously, locking in the accounts of witnesses who might later have to testify at a trial. But such panels are sometimes used only as investigative tools, and it remains unclear if McCabe will ultimately be charged," writes author Matt Zapotosky.

Neither McCabe’s spokesperson or a representative for U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. would comment on the matter.

Pres. Trump's Tight Labor Market Wins U.S. Construction Workers Higher Wages
[Breitbart] American construction workers are seeing their wages rise in the blue collar industry as President Trump’s "Buy American, Hire American" tightened labor market forces business to find and employ disenfranchised U.S. workers, rather than importing foreign workers.

A recent report by the Miami Herald chronicled the rise in wages and business having to adapt to an economy with a tight labor market as immigration enforcement has been increased and unemployment has hit record lows.

As admitted in the Miami Herald by industry insiders, the tight labor market has secured jobs for Americans willing to do the blue collar work and won them higher wages in the process.

Atlanta Mayor Announces City Jails Will No Longer Hold ICE Detainees
[NR] Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms signed an executive order on Thursday requiring that all Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees be transferred out of city custody immediately.

"Atlanta will no longer be complicit in a policy that intentionally inflicts misery on a vulnerable population without giving any thought to the horrific fallout," Bottoms said at a City Hall news conference, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "As the birthplace of the civil-rights movement we are called to be better than this."

The announcement comes roughly two months after a previous executive order ‐ issued in the wake of the Trump administration’s adoption of a "zero tolerance" immigration-enforcement policy ‐ declared that city jails would not accept any new ICE detainees.

The number of ICE detainees in Atlanta jails has fallen from 205 in June, when the initial executive order was issued, to just five as of Wednesday. Of the 200 detainees removed from Atlanta jails in the interim, some have been released, some have been deported, and some have been transferred to various nearby detention centers.

Georgia secretary of state Brian Kemp, the state’s Republican gubernatorial nominee, issued a harshly critical statement in response to the order.

PM thanks Shin Bet for thwarting attacks 'every day, every hour'
[Ynet] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised on Thursday the activities carried out by the Shin Bet, who he said "deter and thwart, every day and every hour, those who seek to kill us."

"There is no day on which something is not thwarted. There is no day on which some action does not prevent (attacks)," the prime minister said at an event marking the new year with security organizations.

Wired Icelanders seek to keep remote peninsula digital-free
[AP via SF Chronicle] HORNSTRANDIR, Iceland ‐ The passenger boat arrives at the bottom of Veidileysufjordur, a short inlet with a long name, to drop off backpackers for a multi-day trek. A weather-beaten group that's completed the trip waits to board, eager to get back to a part of Iceland where they can reconnect with the world via Wi-Fi.

By boat, that will take about a half-hour. No roads lead to the Nordic country's northernmost peninsula, a rugged glacial horn that reaches for the Arctic Circle. Making a phone call requires walking up a mountain for a cell signal so weak, clouds seem capable of blocking it.

But internet service soon could be reaching the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, one of the last digital-free frontiers in what might be the world's most-wired nation. The possibility has most hikers, park rangers and summer residents worried that email, news and social media will destroy a way of life that depends on the absence of all three.

"We see a growing appreciation for the lack of online connection," Environment Agency of Iceland ranger Vesteinn Runarsson, who patrols the peninsula's southern end on his own. "Looking to the future, we want to keep Hornstrandir special in that way."

The area has long resisted cell towers, but commercial initiatives could take the decision out of Icelanders' hands and push Hornstrandir across the digital divide.

Brennan Praises 'Courageous' 'Active Insubordination' of Anonymous NYT Op-Ed
[Townhall] On NBC’s Thursday morning broadcast of the "Today" show, former CIA director John Brennan repeatedly praised the unknown author of the New York Times’s recent anti-Trump op-ed as a supreme example of "courageous" American patriotism. While admitting that the anonymous writer was committing "active insubordination" with the piece, Brennan justified his or her actions by claiming that because Trump is too "unfit" to be President, the writer is admirably trying to "prevent disasters" in the future.

"I think there are two major takeaways," Brennan told "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie in relation to the op-ed. "One is, what the author wrote is wholly consistent with all the reports that we have seen over the last year, the reports within Bob Woodward’s book, and other things about just how unfit, reckless, irresponsible Donald Trump is. But secondly, it shows the depth of concern within the administration, within the senior ranks of the administration, about what is happening and the extraordinary steps that individuals are willing to take, such as this op-ed, to prevent disasters."

At this point, the former CIA director openly admitted that the op-ed author’s actions constituted "active insubordination." However, Brennan then immediately praised the "insubordination" as being "born out of loyalty to the country, not to Donald Trump."

Illinois Gov. Rauner - 'I'm just tired of white people telling me what to do....'
[PJ] Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner decided in late July he won’t be giving any more money to millionaire Chicago mayoral candidate Willie Wilson’s charitable foundation, and the African-American businessman decided he’s tired of white people telling him how to spend his money.

"I was raised in the South Jim Crow days," Wilson said. "I’m just tired of white people telling me what to do. It was with my own money, all right, I didn’t use taxpayer dollars."

Wilson, who owns several McDonald’s franchises in the Chicago area, along with the Omar Medical Supplies company, also produces a nationally syndicated gospel music TV program, Singsation.

Wilson, a Democrat, is running for mayor of Chicago for the second time. Wilson ran against Mayor Rahm Emanuel in 2015, and lost. Wilson ran for president in 2016 as a Democrat and was the first presidential candidate, Democrat or Republican, to buy ads in Iowa for that election.

Rauner is running for re-election against J.B. Pritzker, and the race is much tighter than the Republican would like it to be. A June Capitol Fax/We Ask America poll showed Pritzker leading Rauner by nine points. Another 26 percent of the voters surveyed said they’d just as soon vote for an unnamed third-party candidate. Another 11 percent were undecided. So the last thing the Rauner campaign needs is this kind of aggravation.

A guess at identifying the NYT's infamous anonymous Trump insider
[American Thinker] The New York Times published an anonymous op-ed, purportedly penned by a "senior White House official" in the Trump administration.

Read the missive, and note that there are several clear "tells" in the piece ‐ clues that indicate the motivations and leanings of the author, whoever the coward is. And I will use that word, as someone with the character and fortitude claimed by the author would never write an anonymous piece, nor would he remain employed within an administration he so clearly despises. The Times has called the author "he," so I will assume a male is the person responsible

This first clue tells me that it is a member of the swamp, coming from the position that government is an entitlement belonging to an elite, never meant to be sullied by the hands of an "outsider."

He is also among those who oppose Trump's use of tariffs and opposed his taking NATO and the E.U. to task for their looting of our goodwill.

He grudgingly admits that good things have happened but immediately assigns credit to himself, not to the man who drove the initiatives, which is the hallmark of the committed "NeverTrump" and the spurned Obama holdover.

He further reveals himself by the use of such bromides as "rising above politics, reaching across the aisle and resolving to shed the labels," along with petty and unsubstantiated shots at the president, apparently claiming psychic abilities, as he claims to know that Trump "fears such honorable men as McCain."

He ascribes to himself an admirable stoicism, never missing an opportunity to inform the reader of the terrible sacrifice he is making to save us all from our evil natures, as personified in the hulking frame of Donald Trump, whom we foolishly elected, knowing not what we do ‐ a position echoed endlessly by the self-righteous Obama apparatchiks tossed unceremoniously by the will of the people last November.

"So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until ‐ one way or another ‐ it's over."

Posted by: rjschwarz || 09/07/2018 10:16 Comments || Top||

#7  Falsely confirming a suspicion could trigger a witch hunt within the Trump administration.

Different factions who would be fundamentally loyal to the admin's policy objectives would start to distrust each other needlessly.

Alternatively this really could be a plant by Trump. His adversaries have now acknowledged the existence of a permanent bureaucracy that has been operating outside the framework of the US constitution, probably for many decades.

Even Democrats who agree with this "Deep State's" opposition to Trump cannot defend this outfit's legitimacy.

Hence Warren's call for invoking the 25th Amendment. This would be a legitimate act by dissenters in the administration, while playing "Deep State" isn't.

Warren is actually disowning the resistance within the executive branch.

Well have to wait and see who has been assigned the roles of Mundt, Fiedler and Leamas in this story, and by whom.

Iraq
State Dept. Confirms Mortar Attack Near U.S. Embassy in Iraq
[Free Beacon] The State Department confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon there was a mortar attack near the United States embassy in Iraq on Thursday.

A video captured a series of sixteen explosions which can be seen lighting up the night sky.

U.S. officials confirmed a series of explosions near the U.S. embassy in the Green Zone in Baghdad.

"We are closely ‎following reports of possible explosions outside of the Green Zone in Baghdad," a State Department official said on background.

The embassy has not been impacted and U.S. staff are taking appropriate safety precautions and prioritizing the safety of Americans on the ground.

"‎The security and safety of Americans are among our highest priorities," the official said. "Host nation security and U.S. embassy security officials will take appropriate measures to safeguard personnel and visitors.‎"

Sources say the attack came from Baghdad Area Zayoona which is well known for control of Asae'b Ahlil Al Haq, an Iraqi Shi'a paramilitary group backed by Iran. The group was active during the Iraqi insurgency and in the Syrian Civil War.
From the group’s lengthy Wikipedia entry: “Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq (AAH; Aṣayib Ahl al-Haq, "League of Righteous People"), also known as the Khazali Network, is an Iraqi Shi'a paramilitary group active in the Iraqi insurgency and Syrian Civil War. During the Iraq War it was known as Iraq's largest "Special Group" (the Americans' term for Iran-backed Shia paramilitaries in Iraq), and claimed responsibility for over 6,000 attacks on American and Coalition forces. The group is currently fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as part of the Popular Moblization Forces. The group is funded and trained by Iran's Quds Force. In 2017, AAH created a party with the same name.”
The mortars used in the attack are identified as 120mm which are considered heavy mortars and could cause extensive damage.

Sources believe the Iranian-backed group is responsible for the attack.

Iranian-backed forces have long been operating in Iraq and have obtained U.S. arms. Iran continues to solidify its presence in Iraq, which it considers a key strategic location.

"I find the reaction to the NYT op-ed fascinating ‐ that people seem so shocked that there is a resistance from the inside," an anonymous senior official told Axios, admitting that some of them wished they had written the piece.

"I hope he knows ‐ maybe he does? ‐ that there are dozens and dozens of us," the source continued.

Trump wrote on Thursday that his success was driving his enemies crazy.

"The Deep State and the Left, and their vehicle, the Fake News Media, are going Crazy ‐ and they don’t know what to do," he wrote on Twitter.

Trump added that he would continue to "drain the swamp" despite their resistance to his important changes.

"I’m draining the Swamp, and the Swamp is trying to fight back," he wrote on Wednesday night. "Don’t worry, we will win!"

Paid protesters at Kavanaugh hearings? Twitter abuzz after photo shows activist receiving cash
[RT] The hearings for Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court have been mired by raucous protests and disruptions and now the emergence of photos from the scene has prompted some to ask if the protestors are paid actors.

Amid prolonged chaos and a reported 70 arrests in the first two days of hearings, rumors began circulating online that activist groups were handing out cash to protesters who would then storm the courtroom to cause as much disruption as possible with a view to getting arrested.

One such alleged paid-for actor was Vickie Lampron, who can be seen in this arrest video from inside the courtroom, shared by the Center for Popular Democracy, which is involved in the demonstrations. She was arrested shortly afterwards.

In the below photo, shared by Adam Schindler, the Director of Online Strategy for Central, Lampron can be seen outside the courtroom speaking with Vinay Krishnan, a writer for SLAM magazine and an attorney, handing what appears to be money to Lampron outside the courthouse.

Schindler later added that he spoke to the protest’s organizer who confirmed that they were handing out cash which the protesters were using to pay fines they received for breaking the law.

Winnie Wong, senior adviser to the Women's March, along with co-founders Linda Sarsour and Bob Bland were all arrested Monday for their part in disrupting the confirmation hearings.

"This is well-organized and scripted. This isn't chaos,” Wong told CNN. "It's exercising your constitutional rights.”

Wong confirmed to CNN that The Women's March had been fundraising for the planned protests via the group's email list and was paying protesters the $35 to $50 bail.

RT.com has contacted Vickie Lampron, the Women’s March and the Center for Popular Democracy for comment on what is taking place in the photo but it has yet to receive responses. It has been unable to reach Krishnan.

Levi Strauss CEO: Why Business Leaders Need to Take a Stand on Gun Violence
[Fortune] As president and CEO of a values-driven company that's known the world over as a pioneer of the American West and one of the great symbols of American freedom, I take the responsibility of speaking up on the important issues of our day very seriously. We can't take on every issue. But as business leaders with power in the public and political arenas, we simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to the issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work. While taking a stand can be unpopular with some, doing nothing is no longer an option.

That's why Levi Strauss & Co. is stepping up our support for gun violence prevention. You may wonder why a company that doesn't manufacture or sell guns is wading into this issue, but for us, it's simple. Americans shouldn't have to live in fear of gun violence. It's an issue that affects all of us‐all generations and all walks of life.

The stakes could not be higher. On an average day, 96 Americans are killed by guns, and hundreds more are wounded. Most are suicides or unintentional shootings. Our nation's gun homicide rate is more than 25 times the average rate of other high-income countries. Some shootings make the headlines; some you never hear of; but each one is a tragedy.

Burt Reynolds, Hollywood film star, dies aged 82
[Guardian] Burt Reynolds, the star of Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Boogie Nights, has died aged 82. His manager, Erik Kritzer, confirmed the news on Thursday that Reynolds had died that morning at Jupiter medical center in Florida. The star had undergone a quintuple heart bypass in February 2010 but had been working until recently; he was filming Quentin Tarantino’s movie about the Charles Manson murders, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Reynolds, who famously turned down the roles of James Bond and Han Solo, nevertheless forged a film career that marked him out as a singular talent.

A Michigan native transplanted to Florida, he was an American football player in his youth, but switched to acting after a knee injury was aggravated by a car accident. Discouraged, Reynolds started part-time lessons at Palm Beach Junior College, where his acting talent was spotted by Watson B Duncan III, an English teacher who liked the way he read Shakespeare. Reynolds would later say that Duncan was the most important influence on his life.

Booker Accuses Reporter of Violating Constitution by Asking Him a Question
[FreeBeacon] Sen. Cory Booker accused a reporter of violating the U.S. Constitution after he asked the New Jersey Democrat a question in the halls of Congress on Thursday.

During the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Booker threatened to release confidential documents relating to Kavanaugh's service as a lawyer in the George W. Bush administration.

"I understand the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate," Booker said before releasing Kavanaugh's old emails, adding, "This is about the closest I'll probably ever have in my life to an ’I am Spartacus' moment."

After the display, however, the Washington Post reported that the "confidential" emails were already cleared for public release before Booker's dare, citing both Democratic and Republican aides on the judiciary committee.
'dis Guy:

"We cleared the documents last night shortly after Senator Booker's staff asked us to," confirmed Bill Burck, Bush's presidential records representative. "We were surprised to learn about Senator Booker's histrionics this morning because we had already told him he could use the documents publicly. In fact, we have said yes to every request made by the Senate Democrats to make documents public."

When Wall Street Journal reporter Byron Tau asked Booker whether his actions during the morning session were a stunt, the senator accused him of violating the U.S. Constitution.

It is not entirely clear what Booker was referring to, but the Speech or Debate Clause of the Constitution does state that members of Congress cannot be arrested on their way to session and "in going to and from [session] ... shall not be questioned in any other Place." The prohibition against "questioning" lawmakers on their way to session, however, has generally been interpreted to apply to law enforcement, not reporters.

#5  These are the people who think they can just get on a horse and cowboy, when the horses they ride are trail horses who have been taking dumbass tourists on the same worn path for 10 years and are cared for by professional horse people.

If these people had children, they would see at first ball practice who has and who has not caught a ball, or thrown a ball, ran at full speed any distance.

One problem is the coyboys did not learn those things themselves, and cannot teach those skills even if mama let the kids out of the bubble wrap. So when their kids come across other kids whose parents did play wrestle, who did teach them how to hammer real nails at age five, they got all butthurt and lobbied to ban physical activities at schools, safe in the thought that their kids received their liberal upbringings and would excel in the classroom. They forgot physical activity focuses the mind, and they started losing there too. So now they want dumb schools with no physical activity and beta-child hate snitches.

Sorry. Spent the summer in dumbass tourist land.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Why they call it a Dodge RAM
[DailyMail]
  • Man driving a silver Dodge Ram crashed into building on North Griffin Street in downtown Dallas housing the station KDFW

  • Michael Chadwick Fry, 34, was heard ranting about 'high treason' before scattering handwritten flyers outside the entrance

  • He also left behind a suspicious bag - prompting police to call in the bomb squad to make sure there were no explosives

  • Police say man was upset about officer-involved shooting that happened elsewhere

  • Driver now faces charges of criminal mischief following the alleged incident

Police: Man who rammed Dallas station wasn't targeting media

[LongviewNewsJournal] A ranting man repeatedly rammed his pickup into the Fox television affiliate’s building in downtown Dallas on Wednesday in an apparent attempt to draw attention to the fatal shooting of an acquaintance by a sheriff’s deputy in 2012, authorities said.

During the episode, Fry also scattered papers that had information about an officer-involved shooting. Police Major Max Geron reported on social media that Fry had “mental issues” and wanted to bring media attention to the 2012 fatal shooting of an acquaintance, Roberto Hernandez, by a sheriff’s deputy in Denton County, northwest of Dallas. Authorities say the deputy shot and killed Hernandez after he rammed a patrol vehicle, and that Fry was in the car with Hernandez at the time.

One of the scattered papers shows handwritten notes on an article about the 2012 shooting. Part of the notes said “They tryed (sic) to kill me. And they missed. And hit him.”

Fry was evaluated at a hospital Wednesday before being booked into the Dallas County jail on a criminal mischief charge. While being escorted into the jail, he told WFAA that he was “mentally challenged” and had been “running for (his) life” since the shooting.

Denton County records show Fry has been booked into jail more than two dozen times since 2003 on a variety of charges, including public intoxication and arson.

Afghanistan
Taliban militants kill 8 policemen with insider help in Takhar province
[KhaamaPress] The Talibs have set on fire the dead bodies of at least eight coppers who were killed in an attack on a check post in northeastern Takhar province

Provincial police front man Asir confirmed the incident and said the coppers were killed after the bully boy attacked their check post in Khwaja Ghar district.

Asir further added that the incident took place late on Wednesday night in the vicinity of Kandahar Qeshlaq area of the district.

According to Asir, the Talibs carried out the attack with the support of one of the coppers who had links with the bully boys.

He also added that the Talibs beat feet from the area after attacking the killing the coppers and snatching the coppers arms.

The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
group front man Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed the attack and claims that nine coppers were killed in the attack.

Takhar has been among the relatively calm provinces in northeastern parts of Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban regime.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the security situation of the province has tanked during the recent years amid ongoing efforts by the anti-government armed Death Eaters to expand their activities in northern and northeastern parts of the country.
