4 Stages of Islamic Conquest
STAGE 1: INFILTRATION

Muslims begin moving to non-Muslim countries in increasing numbers and the beginning of cultural conflicts are visible, though often subtle.

- First migration wave to non-Muslim "host" country.
Appeal for humanitarian tolerance from the host society.
Attempts to portray Islam as a peaceful & Muslims as victims of misunderstanding and racism (even though Islam is not a ’race’).

- High Muslim birth rate in host country increase Muslim population.

- Mosques used to spread Islam and dislike of host country & culture.

- Calls to criminalize "Islamophobia" as a hate crime.

- Threatened legal action for perceived discrimination.

- Offers of "interfaith dialogue" to indoctrinate non-Muslims.

How many nations are suffering from Islamic infiltration? One? A handful? Nearly every nation? The Islamic ’leadership" of the Muslim Brotherhood and others wish to dissolve each nation’s sovereignty and replace it with the global imposition of Islamic sharia law. Sharia law, based on the koran, sira and hadith, condemns liberty and forbids equality and is inconsistent with the laws of all Western nations. As the author and historian Serge Trifkovic states:

"The refusal of the Western elite class to protect their nations from jihadist infiltration is the biggest betrayal in history."

Obama's Colossal Email Lie Final Test for Tarnished MSM
[PJ] That Barack Obama communicated in 2012--under a redacted pseudonym--with Hillary Clinton on the then secretary of State's permeable home-brew email server and then claimed he did not know of that server's existence until it was reported in the press in 2014 is far more than the usual politician's prevarication.

Since the fish rots from the top--and in this case it stinks to high heaven--the surfacing of this particular presidential lie calls to question the entire FBI inquiry into the Clinton server, an investigation whose credibility was paper thin in the first place and has now completely vanished.

It's time to ask that age-old question: "What did the president know and when did he know it?"

That we do know (as of this Friday's dump) that one of Clinton's own IT workers referred to her then just-announced 60-day email retention policy (who does that?) as "Hillary's coverup operation" almost (but not completely) tells the story in those three quoted words. Even though they say it's not the crime, but the coverup, in this case, it's both.

The seriousness of this crime/coverup--involving the national security of our country--makes Watergate seem like a minor kerfuffle at a sewing circle. If the mainstream media does not investigate this thoroughly, they are unquestionably the court eunuchs many of us have accused them of being. Worse, they are the enablers of the decline of Western civilization. Without a free and honest press -- some of it anyway -- not to mention adherence to the rule of law, such a civilization cannot survive. And the decline can come remarkably swiftly. We have plenty of examples of that from twentieth century Europe.

Does this sound over-heated? You could say so, but how do you avoid the conclusion, given the MSM's passivity, or is it collaboration, that they do not care a whit about the rule of law as long as their side wins?

But not to be entirely negative, I am going to offer some help to the Fourth Estate, since investigative journalism has not, for some time, been their long suit. Fortunately, via the Internet (at least for a few weeks until Obama passes us all into the censorious hands of the United Nations) we have the "wisdom of crowds" to draw upon. Yesterday, the following fascinating comment from one "susanholly" appeared under my column "What Happens When You Can't Trust the FBI and the State Department?" I have no idea who "susan" is or if her conjectures are accurate, but she has given us food for thought. I don't often quote comments at length, but this time it seems worth it:

WH fans the flames of anarchy - Protestors have 'legitimate' complaints
[Wash Times] The White House said Thursday that protesters angered by the fatal police shooting of a black man in Charlotte, North Carolina, are raising "legitimate" concerns about racial disparities in the criminal-justice system.

"Those are difficult questions that must be confronted," said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. "They cannot be ignored."

After a second night of rioting and confrontations with police in Charlotte, President Obama spoke by phone Thursday with North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory to receive an update on the situation.

Mr. Earnest said the president wants authorities to ensure the safety of protesters.

"The president also hopes that the rights of peaceful protesters will be protected," he said. "But he also believes that it should be made clear that the protests must remain peaceful, and they should not be used an an excuse to engage in vandalism or violence."

Hungary's Anti-Mass Migration Orban: Create ‘Giant Refugee City' In Africa
[Breitbart] VIENNA - The European Union should set up a "giant refugee city" on the Libyan coast and process asylum claims from refugees arriving from Africa there with the help of a new Libyan government, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban proposed on Saturday.

Speaking in Vienna after a summit of European and Balkans countries on the refugee crisis, Orban said the European Union’s external borders should be under "total control" ‐ including the Mediterranean border, in which Libya is instrumental.

Libya’s unity should be preserved, the Western arms embargo against it cancelled, the "Libyan liberation army" supported and a new Libyan government set up and brought into a cooperation agreement by the time migration picks up again next spring in the Mediterranean, he said.

Officials in Charlotte Threaten Rioters And Looters With Loss of Welfare And Food Stamps
[GP] As unrest continues in Charlotte, North Carolina, officials have issued a warning to people who loot businesses or destroy public property. Keep it up and you could lose any public benefits you receive.

The Baltimore Gazette reported: CHARLOTTE OFFICIALS TO RIOTERS ‐ ANYONE CAUGHT LOOTING WILL HAVE WELFARE AND FOOD STAMPS REVOKED FOR LIFE

According to multiple reports, city officials have announced new measures in an effort to curb the violence sweeping Charlotte since the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. Any individuals caught rioting, looting, destroying property or otherwise reacting in a violent and unlawful manner will have their government benefits permanently revoked.

According to the local affiliate WBTC, the punishment also applies to minors who might be participating in the ongoing melee. Parents of underage individuals who are captured while engaging in criminal activities related to the rioting will be held fully accountable, and could risk losing state benefits, as well as the custody of their child.

"Parents are responsible for their children. If they are allowing them to engage in lawless behaviors there will be consequences for them as parents." Charlotte City Official, Wilson Stewart, told reporters during the 30 minute press conference.

Isn’t this exactly as it should be? The business owner who has his store wrecked and looted is paying taxes which provide public benefits. Shouldn’t he or she have some recourse?

The theory being that, without government benefits, they'll have to work - and, if they work, they'll not have any time or energy to riot?

Europe
Fences and walls along the Balkan route
[DeutscheWelle] It is the third such meeting in Vienna, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
has long established herself at the head of the movement: "We have come a long way," compared to the situation a year ago, she summarizes. Back then, she embodied Europe's "welcoming culture": No one talks much about that anymore. Now there are calls for doing "as much as possible to stop illegal immigration." Merkel's Austrian colleagues report that when she addressed the other 11 heads of government at the meeting, the chancellor complained that 50,000 refugees had come to Europe along the Balkan route since February. The border, it seems, has not been sealed well enough.

A rather European solution
The meeting failed to produce any new insights; only the tone of the leaders' statements seemed to become more unified as it went on. Whereas last year there were serious differences of opinion, this year all emphasized the importance of the 1,000 new EU border patrol agents that are to be deployed as part of the Frontex border management program. Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern added that if external borders could not be protected, states would have to act on their own; that would also apply to Austria. This, he said, would have consequences for businesses, tourists and commuters.

Angela Merkel repeatedly emphasized common goals and the success of the EU-The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
agreement. She sees the agreement as a blueprint for further treaties, especially with countries like Egypt, which has now become the hub for the latest wave of migration to Europe. Pakistain and Afghanistan are also on her list, although talks are barely moving with the two countries. The goal, said the chancellor once again, was to deport all immigrants colonists that will not be allowed to remain in Europe for humanitarian reasons as soon as possible. But the EU is a long way from being able to do that.

Criticism of Greece
Greece can't do it! Once again, Alexis Tsipras had to listen to a lot of criticism - also from Angela Merkel. Currently, some 60,000 refugees are stuck in Greece, mostly because they cannot be returned to Turkey, emphasized the chancellor. Athens needs more help from the EU. The extremely slow asylum process is in fact compounding the refugee bottleneck on the Greek isles. "Can it remain the case that Greece does not send people back?" asked the Austrian chancellor rhetorically.

The Greek prime minister, on the other hand, pointed the finger at the broken promises of the EU member states: 5,000 refugees stand ready to be distributed among other EU states; to date only about 500 have been taken in. Angela Merkel stressed the fact that Germany was prepared to admit several hundred people per month from Italia and Greece. But other EU states must also do their part, she said. Yet there has been very little movement in some countries, Merkel quietly criticized, and none whatsoever in Hungary.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats grabbed for his rosco...
thousands of refugees are also stuck in Macedonia, Serbia and Bulgaria. These countries are none too happy with what the EU has offered them in assistance, either. Several heads of government, especially Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, are calling for more EU support.

Hardline EU policy
The president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, has been increasingly uncompromising in formulating his position: "The Western Balkan route must remain closed for good." Right now, the most important thing for the EU is to protect its exterior borders, said Tusk in Vienna. No more talk of admission and distribution.

As has become usual, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban used the Vienna conference as an opportunity to flaunt his anti-refugee rhetoric: He wants to build an enormous refugee camp off the coast of Libya and send all refugees that land in Europe there.
An interesting proposal...
He says that total control of the EU's exterior borders must be attained, and that includes controlling the Mediterranean. He continued that anyone fished out of the waters there should simply be dropped off in the new Libyan camp.
Very interesting. What odds it will be adopted?
Orban has firmly established himself in the role of the EU's constant provocateur. Part of that role includes the referendum against the admission of refugees to be held in early October, and for which he is busily inciting his country.

Terror Networks
War crimes tribunal for Islamic State detainees lacks support
[Chicago Tribune] War crimes Sherlocks collecting evidence of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group's elaborate operation to kidnap thousands of women as sex slaves say they have a case to try IS leaders with crimes against humanity but cannot get the global backing to bring current detainees before an international tribunal.

Two years after the IS onslaught in northern Iraq, the Sherlocks, as well as U.S. diplomats, say the B.O. regime has done little to pursue prosecution of the crimes that Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
has called genocide. Current and former State Department officials say that an attempt in late 2014 to have a legal finding of genocide was blocked by the Defense Department, setting back efforts to prosecute IS members suspected of committing war crimes.

"The West looks to the United States for leadership in the Middle East, and the focus of this administration has been elsewhere -- in every respect," Bill Wiley, the head of the independent investigative group, the Commission for International Justice and Accountability, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

Officials in Washington say that the Defense Department and ultimately the administration were concerned that court trials would distract from the military campaign. But the diplomats say that justice is essential in a region whose religious minorities have been terrorized. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the issue.

The U.S. has no legal obligation to take on the genocide of the Yazidis, but President Barack Obama
The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person...
has said that "preventing mass atrocities and genocide is a core national security interest and a core moral responsibility of the United States of America."

Stephen Rapp, who stepped down as the administration's ambassador on the lam for war crimes last year, says the administration should have moved early to help secure evidence of IS atrocities and push for the creation of special Iraqi courts to try war crimes.

"The priority for the U.S. government is to win the war against the Islamic State and destroy them," Rapp said. "It's been profoundly disappointing, because the idea of accountability has been such a low priority."

Rapp is now the chairman of the advisory board of the commission, whose Sherlocks in Iraq work with the Kurdish regional government to formally document the IS group's crimes, including those against the Yazidi minority group. They have built a case implicating the entire IS command structure in a plot to kidnap Yazidi women and girls and establish a sex-slave market.

The plan was executed by an organized bureaucracy at every step along the way, from the temporary sorting facilities -- including a prison, schools and a curtained ballroom where the Yazidis were divided by age and willingness to convert to Islam -- to the waiting buses that would haul them by the dozens across the border to Raqqa. The Islamic State group's Shariah courts soon stepped in, to settle contract disputes and ensure that its finance hierarchy got its cut of the sex slaves proceeds.

"You have members of IS who were engaged in ensuring that this system continued and that it functioned well," said Chris Engels, the American lawyer who is leading the commission's legal investigation. Without a legal documentation of their identities from the top down, many could "slide into refugee streams" and disappear.

Brazil Supreme Court okays President Temer probe
[YAHOO] The allegations were made under a plea deal by Sergio Machado, the former president of Transpetro, a subsidiary state oil giant Petrobras, which is embroiled in a massive bribe and kickback scandal.

According to Machado, Temer sought donations from Transpetro in 2012 to support the campaign of a Sao Paulo mayoral candidate.

The probe, announced by Judge Teori Zavascki late Friday, also cites several prominent policitians from Temer's Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB), his Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) allies and the Workers Party (PT) of deposed president Dilma Rousseff and her mentor and predecessor Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Based on the findings of the preliminary probe, prosecutors will decide whether to launch a formal investigation into the president.

Suspected member of 'Islamic State' arrested at Dusseldorf airport
[DeutscheWelle] Authorities in the city of Karlsruhe said on Saturday that the German Federal Prosecutor's Office had authorized the arrest of the individual at Dusseldorf airport on Friday. The 22-year-old Turkish German man was taken into custody as he arrived in Dusseldorf from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

on Friday. He is believed to have traveled to Syria in August last year and joined IS there.

He has been accused of attending a training camp in Syria and obtaining an automatic rifle and hand grenades to use in battle. "Therefore, he has proven himself willing to engage in armed fighting," the Prosecutor's Office said.

The alleged jihadist is believed to have returned from Syria to Turkey in December of last year. The unnamed individual
...Breitbart names him as Anil O., whose last name was not given in accordance with German privacy law...
is accused of having gone to Syria in August 2015 to join the extremist group.
is also believed to have tried to persuade other people living in Germany to join him in IS-controled territory.

"The State Criminal Police Office detained a 22-year-old Turkish German immediately upon his reentry. The arrest and the investigation show that [despite his success in traveling to Syria] our security agencies working together professionally and easily in the fight against Islamist terrorism," the interior minister for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia told the "Rheinische Post" daily.

Hundreds of former IS-fighters in Germany
According to estimates from security services, about 800 people have left Germany to fight with jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq. About a third of them are believed to have returned to Germany.

There have been a series of plans outlined to deal with the increased security threat perceived in Germany. Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said last month: "Germans who participate in fighting abroad for a terror militia and who have another citizenship should lose their German nationality."
As a first step, yes.
Under de Maiziere's plans, thousands of new security and police posts are to be created over the next year with spending on security raised by 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) by 2020.
The overt portion of the jihad tax, to be paid until surrender and proper jizya follows.
The minister's plans also call for federal police to establish a new division to coordinate security efforts and a new unit to be formed to draw up strategies to combat cyber-crime and terrorism.
The covert part of the jihad tax, because those people are taken from the pool that would otherwise be working and inventing, improving the prosperity and quality of life of all.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian regulars capture rebel camp in Aleppo
Syrian government forces seized ground from rebels north of Aleppo on Saturday, tightening their siege on the city’s opposition-held east as it came under fierce air strikes in a major offensive by the Russian-backed army.

The capture of the Handarat camp a few kilometers north of Aleppo marked the first major ground advance by the government in an offensive that rebels say has unleashed unprecedented firepower against their half of the city. The captured area, elevated ground overlooking one of the main roads into Aleppo, had been in rebel hands for years.

“Handarat has fallen,” an official with one of the main Aleppo rebel groups told Reuters. An army statement confirming the advance said “large numbers of terrorists” had been killed.

Dozens of people have been reported killed in eastern Aleppo since the army announced the new offensive late on Thursday, burying any remaining hope for reviving a ceasefire brokered by the United States and Russia.

Residents of rebel-held eastern Aleppo say it is being subjected to the most ferocious bombardment of the war.

Rebel officials said heavy air strikes on Saturday hit at least four areas of the opposition-held east, home to more than 250,000 people. Rebels say the strikes are mostly being carried out by Russian warplanes.

The attack has drawn on ordnance more destructive than anything previously used against the area and many buildings have been destroyed, residents say. Images of blast sites show craters several meters wide and deep.

“There are planes in the sky now,” Ammar al Selmo, the head of Civil Defense in the opposition-held east, told Reuters from Aleppo on Saturday morning. “Our teams are responding but are not enough to cover this amount of catastrophe.”

A Syrian military source told Reuters the operation announced late on Thursday was continuing according to plan.

Asked about the weapons being used, the military source said the army was using precise weapons “suitable for the nature of the targets being struck, according to the type of fortifications”, such as tunnels and bunkers, and “specifically command centres”.

A senior official in an Aleppo-based rebel faction, the Levant Front, told Reuters the weapons appeared designed to bring down entire buildings.

“Most of the victims are under the rubble because more than half the civil defence has been forced out of service,” he said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based organisation that reports on the war, said it had documented 47 deaths since Friday, including five children. Selmo said the toll was more than 100.

“The raids are intense and continuous,” Observatory Director Rami Abdulrahman told Reuters.

The Syrian army says it is targeting rebel positions in the city and denies hitting civilians.

“Every missile makes an earthquake we feel regardless of how far off the bombardment is,” one Aleppo resident said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said a revival of a ceasefire in Syria depended on all sides involved and not only on “Russia’s unilateral concessions”.

“One can only speak about the ceasefire revival only on the collective basis,” he said in an interview for the TV news show Vesti on Saturday.

Pak jet pilot dies in crash in Khyber
PESHAWAR: A flight lieutenant of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) died in an air crash in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Saturday.

Flight Lieutenant Omer Shahzad was flying F-7PG when the aircraft encountered a technical fault and crashed, said a statement issued by the PAF.

An investigation into the crash has been launched by the air force.
During his training, Shehzad was awarded "Sword of Honour" in upon best performance at PAF Academy Risalpur.

In November last year, a double-seat version of F-7PG, also known as the FT-7PGs, crashed near Kundian, Mianwali in which female fighter pilot Marium Muktiar died. The incident took place during a training mission.

Marium is the PAF’s first woman pilot to die while on duty.

F-7PGs were first inducted in the PAF in 2002 as a replacement for F-6, which were then de-commissioned. The trainer FT-7PGs came later.

The PAF had previously operated F-7Ps.

About seven or eight F-7PGs/FT-7PGs have been lost during the 13 years in service. The PAF has more than 50 of the Chinese-made aircraft in its fleet.

The losses of F-7PGs/FT-7PGs in air crashes are within limit, aviation experts say.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Is this how Hezbollah serves Michel Aoun?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] If we believe in Leb as a democracy, we accept that Christian leader Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
becomes president if he is elected by a majority in parliament. Democracy obliges us to accept results no matter what they are. It means we must congratulate the new president, give him a chance to implement his plan, and help him whenever possible because Leb - like all countries - needs a president and the regulation of institutions’ work.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
in Leb we live a different reality that does not resemble democracy at all. The era of Syrian tutelage, which long controlled the presidency, seems to go on as Hezbollah has inherited its role and is telling the world and the Lebanese people: "Either elect Aoun or there will be no president."

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem
... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies...
reiterated this stance on Sunday: "He who wants to elect a president only has one path to take, and it leads to... Aoun. Superpowers, regional countries, the UN Security Council and the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
can’t alter this path. They’ve tried to do so for more than two years now, and haven’t achieved anything... The region’s developments, whether negative or positive, can’t change this path."

I do not know if Hezbollah thinks it is serving Aoun with this provocative and snobbish approach - which does not take anyone inside or outside Leb into consideration - or whether it is adopting a policy of burning him by increasing others’ intransigence, so it eventually tells him: "We did what we were supposed to do but couldn’t achieve any results."

If Hezbollah really wants Aoun as president, it should negotiate to help achieve this goal instead of taking to platforms and defying everyone. It has even lost those who could have met it halfway. It must also soften its sharp rhetoric against Arab countries. It must not hail insults and threats against them, then ask them not to object to its presidential candidate.

Hezbollah is harming Aoun and his history of struggle and domestic and foreign relations, and pushing others to reject him. If it manages to present him as a candidate by defying everyone, not via consensus, this establishes an era where Aoun’s failures almost precede his successes. Why does he accept all this? Is he not aware of what the "me or nobody else" approach means in the history of people and their countries?

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korea denounces Japan-Britain joint drill
North Korea on Saturday denounced Japan for conducting a joint military drill with the Britain, saying that Tokyo is moving to emerge as a military giant, Pyongyang's state-run media reported. Japan and the Britain agreed earlier to hold the countries' first joint fighter drill sometime in October, in defiance of North Korea's provocations.

"Japan's moves to emerge a military giant have reached a grave phase," according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) report monitored in Seoul.

The KCNA further said "this is part of the moves of the Japanese reactionaries to convert Japan into a military giant as they are working hard to realize their militarist ambition at any cost with the backing of the U.S. keen to dominate the world."

The North argued that Japan is a war criminal which imposed immeasurable misfortune and pain, saying that it is "the only shameless country in the world which has persistently denied its state obligation to make an apology."

Three cops killed, two injured in Yala blast
[The Nation] Three policemen were killed and two other officers seriously injured in a roadside bomb attack in Yala province yesterday morning. Police believe that a group of militants, led by Hubaideela Rommeulee, was behind the attack.

The attack happened as seven policemen were traveling aboard two pickup trucks on a road in Krong Pinang district. They were gathering intelligence in the area about militants as well as a drug-trafficking ring. Police said the home-made bomb hit one truck directly, hurling it into the air and breaking it apart.

Following the blast, a group of at least seven rebels opened fire at the two police officers in the other truck as other militants stole three M16 rifles and three pistols from the murdered officers before fleeing.

In shocking footage the 23-year-old girl is seen being brutally kicked in the face by Abdullah Cakiroglu.

The thug was incredibly freed by prosecutors when he said he was following Islamic law by assaulting the woman and it was decided to classify the incident as an assault that did not justify custody.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Scales on War: A Q&A with MG Bob Scales, USA (Ret.)
[US Naval Institute] Recently, we asked LTG H. R. McMaster, USA, to host a Q&A with Fox News commentator MG Bob Scales, USA (Ret.), author of Scales on War: The Future of America's Military at Risk. Part I of their exchange follows.

McMaster: Your call for a historical-behavioral approach to military strategy and defense policy is consistent with Graham Allison's and Niall Ferguson's recent essay in the Atlantic in which they call for a board of historical advisors to advise the president to improve the wisdom of foreign policy. What is the value to contemporary affairs and why do you think it is underappreciated?

Scales: Not only do I think Presidents need historians to provide advice I believe the military does as well. War is the only profession that's episodic. Soldiers don't practice war (thankfully) as much as they study it. Thus the intellectual backbone of our profession should be the study of past wars. Sadly, it is not. Reluctance to study war among our senior leaders is, in a way, understandable. A newly appointed general has spent half his or her life (or more) actively engaged in fighting or preparing to fight a war. It's reasonable for a serving officer to question the merits of study when he's fully engaged in practicing the profession. As we witnessed with the British Army in the late nineteenth century these habits are hard to break. Imperial officers published under a pseudonym for fear of being labeled an intellectual. Conversation in the officer's mess was about sport, not tactics. And the British paid a painful price when they were unable to adapt intellectually once they shifted from a native to an industrial age European enemy. The lesson is clear. We must artificially induce our young officers to shift from the visceral to the vicarious, an unnatural act for a contemporary Army on active service.

#1  Universities have become such incubators of political correctness and "leftism," it difficult to imagine an environment that would be receptive to what Scales says regarding embedding military studies in large public and some private universities structured in the ways that he suggests. Malaysia on high alert for fleeing Abu Sayyaf rebels
[Straits Times] Malaysia is on high alert for Abu Sayyaf militants fleeing among hundreds of Filipinos to Sabah, after the Philippine military's offensive in the country. Officials say an estimated 400 are waiting for the "right time" to breach the Eastern Sabah Security Command's security cordon.

Federal police special branch director Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said, "The threat is imminent...There is only one direction that they are heading, and it is towards our shores. We will not allow them to enter. Our security forces will arrest them the minute they pass the country's maritime border."

Malaysia has deployed more manpower and assets to protect the vast maritime border it shares with the Philippines.

General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin said reports that hundreds of Filipinos seeking refuge on islands close to the Malaysian border were credible. He said, ""They are waiting to cross into Sabah and assimilate with their relatives and friends, who stand ready to harbor them."

It is thought that as many as 400 of them, including insurgents, are on the islands of Taganak and Bakkungan, hoping to make their way to Sandakan, the second largest town in Sabah. Police picked up 37 Filipinos from the waters off Sandakan last week. 18 of them were from Basilan, while the rest were from Abu Sayyaf stronghold Jolo.

Hamas should be removed from terror lists, EU court recommends
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, should be removed from the EU's terrorism blacklist, a top European Court of Justice (ECJ) advisor has recommended.

In 2014, the court ruled that the Paleostinian Islamist movement should be taken off the list on technical grounds.

Judges of the General Court ruled that EU leaders relied too heavily on media reports rather than their own investigations when they imposed asset freezes and travel bans on Hamas members.

At the time, Israel recalled Europe's treatment of Jews in the Holocaust and denounced the bloc's "staggering hypocrisy".

Iraq militants launch deadly attacks around Tikrit
Militants have killed at least a dozen members of the Iraqi security forces in early morning attacks in the city of Tikrit, according to reports. Four police officers were shot dead at a checkpoint on the west side of the city. Security forces returned fire and killed one gunman. Other militants continued north to a second checkpoint where they detonated a vehicle rigged with explosives, killing eight more police officers.

The Associated Press put the death toll in the second attack as high as 11. Dozens more were wounded.

Colonel Mohammed al-Jabouri, a spokesman for the police force in Saladin province, said the the local police chief and head of the provincial security committee were visiting the second checkpoint at the time of the attack, but both escaped unharmed.

An unverified photograph shared on social media showed two dark plumes of smoke rising into the sky near arches at the city’s northern gates, Reuters said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, the first of its kind since the city was retaken from Islamic State in April last year.

The governor of Saladin province, Ahmed al-Jabouri, accused Isis of launching the attacks and vowed to “retaliate for the martyrs by chopping off the heads of Daesh militants”, using the Arabic name for the group. Jabouri called on security forces to review their plans, and on residents to cooperate with the authorities.

Egypt’s interior ministry arrests Brotherhood members planning economic sabotage
Yes, they were Muslim Brotherhood, and yes, they were arrested. But at this point the government is just pounding deeper into the ground a group whose head never crests the edge of the soil.
[AlAhram] Egypt’s interior ministry said Saturday it has locked away
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
17 Moslem Brüderbund members while they were meeting to devise ways to sabotage the Egyptian economy.

The ministry’s raid, based on information from the State Security Apparatus, took place in Qalioubiya governorate and targeted a Moslem Brüderbund cell it said was called the "crisis unit."

The cell was planning to use recent economic decisions by the government to cast doubt on the abilities of the national economy and instigate citizens to stand against the economic development process, a ministry statement said.

The arrested include leading Brotherhood figure Shabaan El-Sayed, already wanted in a case, and 11 others in the meeting and five manning the location of their meeting.

They were found in possession of a birdshot gun and bullets. They were also in possession of $70,000 and EGP105,975.

The interior ministry said the arrested confessed on tape to their crimes, including plans to escalate the dollar shortage crisis, and have been referred to the prosecution for further questioning.

The Grand Turk
2 die in fighting between Kurd Kommies, Turks
A Turkish soldier and a village guard were killed on Saturday in separate clashes with Kurdish rebels in Turkey’s restive southeast, local media reported.

The soldier died when fighting erupted in the Lice district of Diyarbakir province between security forces and militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), security sources told the official Anadolu news agency.

Another soldier was injured while one PKK militant was killed, Dogan news agency reported, adding that operations continued in 18 villages in the province where long curfews were imposed on Friday.

A village guard was killed in the foothills of Cudi Mountain in Sirnak province after rebels opened fire on security forces, Dogan said.

He was part of a group of locals cooperating with Turkish security forces to fight the PKK, listed as a terror group by Ankara, the United States and the European Union.

Turkish war planes destroyed PKK shelters and areas where arms were stored on Friday in the Buzul mountains in Hakkari province on the border with northern Iraq, the chief of staff said in a statement, quoted by Anadolu.

Since the collapse of a two-year ceasefire in 2015, there have been almost daily attacks with no let-up since the July 15 attempted coup tried to remove President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power.

Anadolu says more than 600 security personnel and over 7,000 PKK militants have been killed during the military operations launched in response to renewed fighting. Activists claim innocent civilians have also died in the offensives.

Russian, Syrian jets continue to pound Aleppo
ALEPPO – The Syrian and Russian airforces launched several airstrikes on Aleppo City on Saturday, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, activists reported.

The airstrikes hit opposition-held populated neighbourhoods in eastern Aleppo. More than 70 civilians were reportedly killed and dozens more wounded in the air raids, that hit the neighbourhoods of Bustan al-Qasr, Ard al-Hamra and Sakhour.

“The Assad regime and Russia carried out joint airstrikes on the opposition-held eastern part of Aleppo City on Saturday evening. At least seven strikes hit the area, causing the death and injury of dozens,” local media activist Wael Ahmed told ARA News.

The raids also caused a mass destruction to residential buildings in the targeted neighbourhoods.

“So far, 72 dead bodies were found, and more than 35 others were seriously wounded,” said Saad Issa, a member of the Civil Defence Force in Aleppo.

“Our rescue teams are still searching for victims under the ruins of the destroyed buildings,” Issa told ARA News.

According to activists and medical teams in Aleppo, the Russian and Syrian airforces used cluster bombs in Saturday’s strikes.

“Most of the victims were children and women. Assad and his Russian allies committed a new massacre against the people of Aleppo today,” rights activist Sulaiman Halwani said.

“They only targeted populated areas and residential buildings, with a clear goal to force the people to evacuate their homes,” he told ARA News. Apparently the international community has given up on saving the remaining people in Aleppo.”

Kurds, ISIS swap prisoners
HASAKAH – Syrian Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) reached a prisoner exchange deal with the Islamic State (ISIS) militant group on Saturday.

ISIS has released seven Kurdish civilians and two YPG fighters in exchange for a number of its jihadis who had been captured by the Kurdish units a few months ago.

“The exchange took place in Syria’s northeastern Hasakah Governorate, under the supervision of mediators from local Arab tribes,” a source close to the YPG told ARA News on Saturday.

The released Kurdish prisoners were originally from Kobane City.

“There are still hundreds of Kurds held by ISIS in Syria,” Kurdish journalist Mustafa Abde told ARA News.

According to local sources, more than 500 Kurdish civilians have been captured by the group in Kobane alone. Dozens of others have been taken hostage by ISIS from Aleppo and Hasakah.

“Some of the Kurdish prisoners have been held by ISIS since nearly three years,” Abde said. “We hope that the YPG would put more pressure on ISIS to reveal the destiny of hundreds of other prisoners.”

Hillary Clinton Cancels Planned Trip To Charlotte After Mayor Begs Her To Stay Home
[BREITBART]
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as the Smartest Woman in the World and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Henry Clay ...
was forced to cancel her planned trip to Charlotte, after the Democratic mayor of the city begged her on live television to stay home.

Clinton aides announced on Friday afternoon that Hillary would visit the city on Sunday, but were forced to reverse their plans just hours later.

"After further discussion with community leaders, we have decided to postpone Sunday’s trip as to not impact the city’s resources," noted Clinton’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri in a carefully worded statement released late Friday night.

Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts, a Democrat who has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, urged the Democratic nominee to postpone her scheduled visit on Sunday in an interview on CNN. She indicated that both presidential candidates were considering a visit to Charlotte, although Clinton was the only candidate who had announced her plans.

"If there would be a way to delay those visits in terms of giving us a chance to get our city back to order and back to a state of normality that would probably be ideal," Roberts said in an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett on Friday night.

Although Donald Trump was also considering a visit to Charlotte after the first presidential debate, his campaign also abandoned their plans.

Roberts said she appreciated that the presidential candidates were concerned about the city, but said an early visit would stress the city’s resources.

"At this point we do have very stressed resources for security," she said. "They are working around the clock."

Clinton planned visit would have taken place the same day that Charlotte will be hosting an NFL football game, as the Minnesota Vikings play the Panthers. The event will likely be the focal point for additional protests.

...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
with the northern provinces.

Security sources confirmed the bandidos holy warriors launched the attack on northern part of Salang by targeting a vehicle of the security personnel.

The sources further added that five people were killed and three others were maimed during the clash between the bandidos holy warriors and the Afghan forces.

According to the officials, an officer serving in Pul-e-Charkhi prison of Kabul was targeted as he was travelling with his family members.

The officer has been identified as Najmuddin Anadarabi who was killed along with two men and two women in the attack.

This is the second time the Talibs have launched an attack on Salang pass within the past two months.

The group launched a similar attack on security check posts in the area late in July this year but the attack was repulsed by the Afghan cops.

The Taliban holy warriors are normally launching attack on the pass from Parwan province which is among the relatively volatile provinces in the north.

The group launched a similar attack that led to the blockage of Salang tunnel pass over a year ago.

The attack was launched on Southern part of Salang pass late in July last year which triggered shootout between the Afghan cops and the assailants.

Eighteen killed in Islamic State attack north of Iraq's Tikrit
[REUTERS] Eighteen people, including two children, were killed on Saturday when snuffies shot at a checkpoint north of Tikrit and then set off two bombs at the entrance to the Iraqi city in attacks later claimed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
It was the first such assault since Tikrit, 150 km (95 miles) north of Baghdad, was retaken from the ultra-hardline jihadist group in April 2015.

One bad boy was killed at the checkpoint after shooting dead five security personnel and two young civilian bystanders at around 5 a.m., according to police and sources from Salahuddin Operations Command, which is responsible for security in the area.

Two other snuffies continued on about 7 km to the city limits where one of them detonated the explosives in his pickup truck and the other set off an explosives-filled vest, the sources said. The blasts killed 11 people, including three members of a Shi'ite militia working alongside the security forces, and maimed 21.

Amaq news agency, which supports Islamic State, said the group was responsible for the violence. A statement circulated online by supporters said four snuffies had perpetrated the attacks, which had targeted police and "rejectionist Hashid", a the Sunni bad boys' term for Shi'ite militiamen.

Police tightened security following the attacks in the city, which already had some of the most restrictive measures in place following its recapture from Islamic State.

The city and surrounding areas have become a major hub for local and international aid groups providing assistance to civilians forced from their homes by fighting between Islamic State and Iraqi forces further north.

Europe
Muslim teacher in Sweden quits school over handshakes
[The Local] A Muslim woman has stopped teaching at a school in Sweden after she was told that she must greet her colleagues with a handshake if she wanted to continue there.

Fardous El-Sakka had been doing shift work at Kunskapsskolan in Helsingborg, southern Sweden, since August. She chose not to shake hands with her male colleagues for religious reasons, instead choosing to put her hand on her heart and bow.

When one of the male staff members took offense over her not shaking hands with him, El-Sakka was sent to a meeting with the school's principal. She was told that staff members are required to conform to the school's values if they want to work there, which include gender equality. Principal Lidija Münchmeyer said, "The man felt tremendously discriminated against by her. The school doesn’t differentiate between people or treat them differently. That’s what we advocate from our students, so the staff also have to do that."

El-Sakka stopped working there as a result and also reported the event to Sweden's Equality Ombudsman. Because she is a member of Swedish trade union Unionen, the case has been referred to the union instead.

El-Sakka explained that this was the first time anyone had been offended when she chose not to shake their hand. She added that as things stand it is difficult to see how she could return to the school in the future. She said, "It's a special school for me because I was a student there. But I don’t think I can see a way back there now."

There have been a number of similar incidents over handshaking in Sweden recently. In July, a man lost his job at a local council for refusing to shake hands with his female colleagues. The most high-profile case meanwhile was that of former Green Party politician Yasri Khan who resigned in April due to the controversy caused by his refusal to shake a television reporter's hand in an interview.

Washington mall shooting: Bad Guy in custody
[CNN] A man carrying a rifle entered a Macy's store at a mall in Washington state, rubbed out four women and a man, and vanished into the night, police said.

Authorities believe only one person fired the shots Friday night at Cascade Mall in Burlington, about an hour north of Seattle.

A search is underway for an armed man who headed toward Interstate 5 after the attack, said Sgt. Mark Francis, a front man for the Washington State Patrol.

Francis released a blurry surveillance photo of a man described as the suspect. His motive or relationship to the victims, if any, are unclear, he said.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

#8  From the Fox News article:

Island County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Hawley told reporters that he spotted Cetin near the suspect's home in Oak Harbor, around 30 miles due west of the mall. Hawley said he immediately recognized Cetin as the suspect, turned his patrol car around and arrested Cetin without incident.

"He said nothing," said Hawley, who added that Cetin was unarmed and carrying a computer in a satchel when he was apprehended. "He was kind of zombie-like."

Mount Vernon Police Lt. Chris Cammock said Cetin had immigrated to the U.S. from Turkey and was a "legal permanent resident." It was not immediately clear when Cetin came to the U.S.

Hawley said Cetin had been arrested for simple assault last year, but provided no further details on the case. The Seattle Times reported that Cetin faced three domestic violence assault charges in both Burlington and Island County, with the victim identified as Cetin's stepfather. The newspaper reports Cetin also was arrested for drunken driving.

Court records show Cetin was told by a judge on Dec. 29 that he was not to possess a firearm, the newspaper reported.

However, the stepfather urged the judge not to impose a no-contact order, saying his stepson was "going through a hard time."

Cetin was arrested almost exactly 24 hours after his alleged victims were shot at the mall Macy's makeup counter. The four female victims died in the store. The male victim died early Saturday as police finished sweeping the 434,000-square-foot building.

#9  The Daily Mail adds:

KING 5 News reported that Cetin took three legally purchased guns from his father and drove to Macy's where his ex-girlfriend once worked and started shooting before dumping the weapons and escaping on foot.

His ex-girlfriend quit several months ago, according to KING 5 News and was not at the mall at the time of the shooting.

There have been unconfirmed reports the suspect shouted a woman's name multiple times just moments before opening fire, according to FOX-Q13.

Breitbart adds:

However, according to the Cetin’s father’s Facebook page, Cetin was born in Turkey. His father met and married Cetin’s mother in Turkey and the family settled in Oak Harbor, according to the Facebook page.

Local CBS News affiliate KIRO-7 reports that Cetin had a previous brush with the law for misdemeanor assault:

In 2015, Cetin was involved in a fourth-degree assault case — a misdemeanor — in Island County. He was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation in August 2015, and that was completed as of March 2016.

There were also questions in the court file about cannabis use, but last April a judge has questions about how that related to his mental health evaluation, saying it was not a mental health issue.

In May, a judge approved deferred prosecution in that assault case — meaning Cetin was not convicted — and he was ordered not to have alcohol or drugs.

As of Aug. 25, 2016, Cetin was in compliance with weekly sessions for mental health counseling. He complied with the alcohol assessment, according to court records, and he had a deferred prosecution review for the case scheduled for 2018.

And he tweeted he likes Hillary Clinton, according to the article.

Iraqi officials dismantle ISIS cell in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Media officials in the Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday about dismantling a terrorist cell that was intending to target civilians during the holy Hijri month of Moharram, and seizing weapons and adhesive explosive devices with the members of the cell.

The officials in a statement, said, “Forces from the Military Intelligence Directorate dismantled a terrorist cell in Baghdad, which was intending to target civilians in the holy Hijri month of Moharram.”

“The security forces also seized quantities of weapons and adhesive explosive devices with the members of the cell,” the statement added.

It may be mentioned here that Iraq has been witnessing a surge in violence since 2013, while the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) has declared that more than 1,700 Iraqis were either killed or wounded in incidents of violence in different parts of the country only in August.

If Hillary loses, Democrats face a long time in exile
[NYPOST] There’s been lots of speculation about the fate of the Republican Party if (as most of the prognosticators expect and hope) Donald Trump loses. There’s been less speculation, though recent polling suggests it may be in order, about the fate of the Democratic Party if Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as For a good time at 3 a.m. call Hillary and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another John Foster Dulles ...
loses.

Certainly there’s reason to think -- or fear -- the Republican Party will change. Republicans likely won’t supply the bulk of support for free-trade agreements as they increasingly have for 40 years. Prominent Republicans probably won’t press for mass legalization of illegal immigrants colonists, as they did in 2006, 2007 and 2013.

8 wounded in Baltimore shooting
Three gunmen shot and wounded eight people including a 3-year-old girl on an east Baltimore street Saturday night, police said, adding the suspects fled and the victims were all expected to survive.

The shooting erupted outside some rowhouses about 8:30 p.m. after the three armed men converged on the group from different points, Baltimore Police Commissioner Ken Davis told The Associated Press.

Davis, who went to the scene, said the shooting was a premeditated act of retaliatory violence in response to a Labor Day weekend shooting in which a person was fatally shot and two others were wounded, including a pregnant woman. He did not immediately explain how investigators believed the shootings were linked.

Davis said the victims could have recognized the gunmen but authorities haven't immediately been able to identify the suspects and were still searching for them hours afterward.

Report: Supporters of IS Emir in Ain el-Hilweh Shift Allegiance to Nusra
So much for the terrible blood oaths they swore...
[AnNahar] Supporters of the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
Emir in Ein el-Hellhole, Imad Yassine, have shifted their allegiance to the Nusra Front, which rebranded itself as Jabhat Fateh al-Sham
...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant...
in July when it split from the al-Qaeda movement, As Safir daily reported on Saturday.

Following Yassines' arrest, groups affiliated to the detainee abandoned their homes and a state of "collapse" spread among the ranks of those who supported the Islamic State and Yassine, security sources said.

Military sources likened the scene to a similar situation that took place in the northeastern border town of Arsal when the Lebanese army fatigued the IS snuffies in the area with heavy shelling, air and land operations that compelled the snuffies to change allegiance to Nusra.

The same thing is happening today in Ein el-Hellhole, they said.

The army intelligence enjugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Yassine on Thursday following close surveillance and followup in Ein el-Hellhole's al-Tawari neighborhood.

Yassine, who is wanted on multiple arrest warrants, had been plotting prior to his arrest to stage several terrorist bombings against army posts, vital and touristic facilities, shopping centers, popular gatherings and residential areas in several Lebanese regions.

He was tasked with his missions by terrorist organizations based outside the country.

It was reported in July that Yassine had received orders from IS foreign operations chief Abu Khaled al-Iraqi to stage major "Iraq-like bombings" across Leb.

By long-standing convention, the army does not enter the twelve Paleostinian refugee camps in Leb, leaving the Paleostinian factions themselves to handle security.

That has created lawless areas in many camps, and Ein el-Hellhole has gained notoriety as a refuge for Lions of Islam and runaways.

But the camp is also home to more than 54,000 registered Paleostinian refugees who have been joined in recent years by thousands of Paleostinians fleeing the fighting in Syria.

More than 450,000 Paleostinians are registered in Leb with the U.N. agency for Paleostinian refugees UNRWA. Most live in squalid conditions in 12 official refugee camps and face a variety of legal restrictions, including on their employment.

Ahmad Khan Rahami spent time at Pakistan seminary linked to Taliban
[NJ] More details have emerged in the case against Ahmad Khan Rahami, who, according to The Guardian, spent time in a religious seminary in Pakistain closely associated with the Afghan Taliban.
I continue to stand by my contention that if something evil happens, there's a Pak involved somewhere.
Rahami, who was born in Afghanistan but became a U.S. citizen, spent time at the Kaan Kuwa Naqshbandi madrassa on his two visits to Pakistain in 2011 and 2013, a security official working for the government of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
province in Pakistain told the newspaper.

Rahami faces federal charges, including using weapons of mass destruction, in connection with explosives left at a military charity race in Seaside Park, Elizabeth and Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.

According to The Guardian, Rahami spent three weeks in 2011 receiving "lectures and Islamic education" at the school in Kuchlak, a well-known hub for the Taliban. He also reportedly spent nearly a year in Pakistain in 2013 when he also made a car trip to Afghanistan.

Rahami's father told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named in a telephone interview Friday his son underwent a personality shift after visiting Afghanistan and Pakistain in 2013.

"I found a change in his personality," he said. "His mind was not the same. He had become bad and I don't know what caused it but I informed the FBI about it."

A source told NBC New York Sherlocks believe Rahami learned some of his bomb-making techniques while taking an electronics class at Union County College, where he could have learned how to make a "triggering-type device."

Rahami enrolled in several non-credit courses, which are open to the public, in the summer of 2008, according to college spokeswoman Ellen Dotto.

Thirty-one people were hurt in one of the pressure cooker bombings in Chelsea on Sept. 17.

Afghanistan
Hekmatyar may nominate for the presidential elections
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The leader of Hezb-e-Islami party Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
... who used to be known in intelligence circles as The Most Evil Man in the World but who now seems merely run-of-the-mill evil...
may nominate for the presidential elections scheduled to be organized in 2019 as a draft peace agreement was signed between the Afghan government and the party last week.

A top leader of the party Qazi Hakim has indicated that Hekmatyar could stand in the next presidential elections.

"Although it is premature to say anything now, I do not rule out the possibility of Hekmatyar becoming a presidential candidate," Hakim quoted in a report by The Express Tribune said.

He said Hezb-e-Islami would take active part n next parliamentary elections of Afghanistan.

The signing of the draft peace agreement between the Afghan government and Hezb-e-Islami was widely welcomed by the government officials and prominent political figures.

The draft peace agreement is expected to be signed by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
and Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in the near future.

The agreement was signed after almost six months of negotiations between the Afghan High Peace Council and delegation of Hezb-e-Islami.

Hekmatyar formally endorsed the elections in 2014 and called on his supporters to take active part in the elections.

"Convey to Hizb-e-Islami members to take part in the provincial councils’ elections and support those candidates who are either related to us or have a positive view about the party," Hekmatyar said in a letter.

He also added "Hizb-e-Islami is not directly taking part in the elections due to the presence of occupation forces but will exercise the right of vote to get those candidates elected who are close to our party and ideology."

Arabia
Houthi commander dies near Soddy border
JEDDAH: A senior military officer of Iran-backed Houthi militia has been killed in clashes on the border with Saudi Arabia, a source in the Saudi-led coalition fighting the rebel group said on Saturday.

Maj. Gen. Hassan Almalsi, head of Houthi special forces, was killed on Thursday while attempting to infiltrate a squad of Houthi fighters into the Kingdom’s southern province of Najran, the source said. Houthi forces fire missiles or mortars almost daily into southern Saudi border areas including Najran, and often test Saudi defenses with guerrilla-style incursions.

Italian naval ship docks in Iran
[RFE/RL] An Italian navy ship has docked in the southern port of Bandar Abbas in the first official visit by a Western military vessel to Iran in 15 years.

The Italian Navy said the visit comes as part of the resumption of "historic and excellent relations" between the two navies. It said the ship was part of an EU antipiracy mission and would remain docked in Iran for three days before returning home.

Iran’s ISNA news agency said the visit comes two weeks after an Italian navy delegation visited Tehran. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi visited Iran in April accompanied by a 250-member delegation.

Britain
Labour Peer Quits Party Because Of Corbyn Victory
[HEATST] Labour peer Lord Mitchell
...a man of parts, forsooth!
has quit Labour following Jeremy Corbyn’s re-election as party leader.

The Jewish businessman, who has been in the Lords since 2000 and was formerly a shadow minister, told Heat Street last month that he would resign the Labour whip in the event of a Corbyn victory.

Sources close to him today said he has made good his threat.
That's ok. While Mr Corbyn recently conceded Israel's right to exist, he only did so under pressure. Jews have no place in his universe. But now, Lord Mitchell -- incidentally, you retain the title even though you are no longer a member of the party that promoted you. So very amusing to have a vote in the House of Lords that can be used as a check rein on those who drove you out -- you'll want to ponder deeply where in the current political landscape you will find your home.

The corrupt justice department will not act against her. the corrupt fbi will give her immunity.
yet it is, in your mind, the republicans who cause this problems.
without justice department cooperation, which department is under complete control by democrats, no indictment or prosecution is possible.
with the mass media press in the hands of democrats no publicity about this will reach most Americans.
any lawmaking effort by republicans relevant to this subject is subject to presidential veto and hence pointless.
Exactly what are republicans supposed to do about this?

#1  My wife's friends were forced from peaceful Basilan by Muslim rebels more than forty years ago. Since then the island has become a hellhole. The Philippine military has cleared the island on occasion, but then it has allowed the Islamists to return from nearby islands. If the military is serious, this time they will set up a base on the island and stay there.

Britain
Syrian activist barred from travel after UK seizes passport at Assad’s request
British authorities have confiscated the passport of a prominent Syrian critic of Bashar al-Assad at the request of the government in Damascus, effectively preventing her from travelling and blocking her work as an activist.

Zaina Erhaim, an award-winning journalist and campaigner based in Turkey, had her passport taken away by UK border officials when she landed at Heathrow airport. After more than an hour of questioning, they told her that the document had been reported stolen.

The complaint came from the government she has been campaigning against for years. “I expect to be harassed inside my country,’ Erhaim told the Observer. “I know that if I went home I would be killed, but now I find that Assad’s arm can even reach to the UK. This is a dictator pursuing a journalist.”

A receipt that Erhaim was given for the passport states: “Document reported as stolen.” Erhaim, who is travelling to the UK for an event with the BBC’s Kate Adie at the Kew literary festival, said it contained her name, photograph and fingerprint. Erhaim had previously used the passport without problems to travel to the UK in April, when she collected the Index on Censorship’s Freedom of Expression Journalism award for her work. She had also travelled on it without any problems across Europe.

The officials told her that they “did not get involved in politics” and that this was “our system, our rules”. The passport would be returned to Damascus, they said. Erhaim also has an older Syrian passport that she can use to return to Turkey, because it is still valid. But because it has no pages left for visas or immigration stamps – the reason she got the new document – she will effectively be unable to leave Turkey again.

“This is just the regime trying to handicap us,” she said. “They are collaborating with him. And they still wonder why Syrians are floating all over Europe seeking asylum.”

The decision is particularly painful because it was taken by a government that had given Erhaim a prestigious Chevening Award, which brings “future leaders, influencers and decision-makers” to study in the UK. “What really, really hurts me is I am a Chevening scholar, you funded my master’s degree and I work for a UK-based, UK-funded organisation,” she said. “And despite that you take the regime’s word against mine.”

The development came two days after foreign secretary Boris Johnson said a change of government was the key to peace in Syria, and blamed Assad’s government for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Syrians. “There can be no genuine ceasefire unless there is a genuine political agreement that we can have a transition away from the Assad government,” Johnson told the UN security council. “Because it is the Assad government that is responsible. That regime is responsible for the vast majority of the 400,000 deaths.”

The Home Office said Britain had to comply with the request because passports are the legal property of the government that issues them. “If a passport is reported as lost or stolen by a foreign government we have no choice but to confiscate it,” the spokesman said. He suggested that Erhaim seek consular assistance from the Syrian government, which has a well-documented history of imprisoning, torturing and killing opponents.
Nice buck-passing there, Home Office. The Syrian government wants the woman dead.
This was condemned by Index on Censorship, which invited Erhaim to speak at the event. “I am appalled and frankly ashamed at the treatment of Zaina Erhaim by the UK. This is a woman who has risked her life simply to do what every good journalist aspires to do – bring both sides of the story – in an area of conflict that is also her home,” chief executive Jodie Ginsberg said. “The message the UK sends when it takes such action is that it is not on the side of those struggling to defend human dignity amid the inhumanity of war.”

-Short Attention Span Theater-
The Culture Of The Smug White Liberal
[HuffingtonPost] I have spent my life as a Democrat which probably isn’t that surprising considering that I am African-American.
I think I see your problem.
One of the things that always attracted me to the party were the ideals of equality, fighting for the little guy and our openness to differing opinions, but lately I have seen my party take a turn that makes me uncomfortable. Somewhere along the way we stopped fighting for the little guy and became the party of the smug, educated elites who look down on those with less education and deem them unable or unworthy of being able to make personal decisions for their own lives.
A good start for this missive.
Over the last few years we have made incredible strides in diversity and inclusion, from the election twice of the nation’s first African-American President to the legalization of gay marriage, all things that I have loudly and happily cheered for and felt were a long time in coming. As an African-American professional from humble beginnings, I know firsthand the importance of giving everyone an equal opportunity to access the American Dream. I don’t take lightly the opportunities I have been given or the fact that many people, black and white, fought for and sometimes died for me to have these rights. I also have serious concerns about the lack of progress that I have seen for many African-Americans and I blame some of that lack of progress on ineffective liberal policies that are based upon wanting to help those in need, but in many instances end up causing more harm than good.
Great strides. Charlotte explodes, Chicago burns, many other cities are rioting, and all we get from the left is excuse making and blame avoidance, etc. Your "strides" are making a move to hell and beyond.
Although many African-Americans have made incredible strides in educational attainment we are still lagging behind in key indicators of success such as net worth, poverty rates, high incarceration rates and, as such, have some of the highest unemployment numbers. In addition we seem to be victims of a disproportionate amount violence. All of these issues are some of the most serious problems we face as a people and our culture of political correctness and liberalism has not only not solved them, but I believe has made them worse. I know many liberals who do incredible work to make the world around them better, and that’s not who I am talking about. Of course not.
What would be the problem with minding your own business and letting people make their own decisions as they see fit without governmental interference?
I’m talking about the cocktail party liberals, the elites, who wear the cloak of liberalism to protect themselves from criticism and so they can keep a clear conscious.
Your "culture" is ongoing assaults on the institutions of this country. It doesn't conform well with a civil society, but is congruent with a society at war with itself. You and your ilk are the aggressors.
And honey, it is the booze that clears consciences. "Daddy drinks because you are a liberal."
My problem with Liberalism is that it’s more concerned with policing people’s language and thoughts without requiring them to do anything to fix the problem. White liberal college students speak of “safe spaces”, “trigger words”, “micro aggressions” and “white privilege” while not having to do anything or, more importantly, give up anything.
"Open that wallet, will ya!"
They can’t even have a conversation with someone who sees the world differently without resorting to calling someone a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, bigot and trying to have them banned from campus, or ruin them and their reputation.
That's what the left does.
They say they feel black peoples’ pain because they took a trip to Africa to help the disadvantaged, but are unwilling to go to a black neighborhood in the City in which they live.
At least not without packing a 9mm, which liberals would never do. Icky guns, doncha know.
These same college students will espouse the joys of diversity, but will in the same breath assume you are only on campus because of affirmative action or that all black people grew up in poverty. My personal favorite is declaring with surprise how articulate a black classmate is despite the fact that we are attending the same institution of higher learning as they are.
Me, too. Totally surprised at how articulate educated blacks can be. I guess I'm raciss.
I've come to be surprised when any college student is articulate. Texting and tweeting do not encourage a devotion to proper grammar, spelling, or developing a thought at length. I'd bet that if the writer listens closely to those classmates expressing surprise, it will quickly become evident they are not qualified to judge.
The White Liberal culture encourages talking about diversity and shaming others for their alleged racism, but many times they themselves work in environments that are mostly white.
This country is majority white, so it is not surprising that work environments are likewise.
When questioned they’ll defensively state that they promote strictly on merit. Black people aren’t suggesting that we want someone unqualified to get the position, but I find it telling that they assume that we are not qualified.
Bwahaha!
These same Liberals are quick to be against school choice, while their kids go to private or well-regarded public schools. Leaving poor black children behind in underperforming schools and providing less opportunity to improve their lives is inconsequential to keeping true to their white liberal politics.
Bwahaha!
This is precisely why conservatives push school choice and vouchers.
Many people are quick to espouse the political values of liberalism without having to live with the often harsh reality of those policies.
Welcome to the real world of liberalism. I hope you enjoy your stay. I know I will.
Race, gender, religion and sexual orientation are such difficult discussions to have, and many of us don’t get it right, but my problem with some white liberals aren’t that they sometimes get it wrong, it’s their profound lack of self-awareness coupled with the smugness and self-righteousness that they use to lecture to others.
And yet, you want to beat conservatives over the head for policies that they have said repeatedly don't help anyone but government.
White Liberals have hijacked the conversation about diversity, political correctness and what topics we should be outraged about. When a terrorist attack occurs the media and liberals rightly remind us that it’s unfair to judge an entire religion by the actions of a small minority, but I haven’t heard similar unequivocal statements made in the media about the African-American community being unfairly judged by the negative actions of a few. The media lectures about intolerance of the Right, but is the first to show the mugshot of a young black suspect while showing the much more positive yearbook photo of a young white suspect.
That isn't what I have seen. How many times in the last few years have we seen media trying to beautify a black shooting victim, only to get to completely wrong? How many times more do we have to see physical attacks on other blacks that don't get publicized, unless it was a kop or a white attacker?
In fact the criminalization of African-Americans, especially men, has been turned into public policy in large part because of our negative portrayal in the media, which is predominantly filled with white liberal voices.
Really? I want some of what you're smoking.
Don't like what you see? Get together a group of likeminded, talented people, and produce something better. Then make pots of money selling it. That's how those other guys got where they are today.
For so long, as a Black American, I have been told that the problem is Conservative Republicans. While I’ll admit they may have done little to try to improve African-American lives,
...preferring to do the things that improve everyone's lives including African-Americans...
they also don’t promise to every election season like the liberal elites. Instead we have given our loyalty and votes to Democrats, who paternalistically tell us they want to help us, but we have little to show for it since blacks started voting Democrat back in the 1960’s. I have never lived in a city as an adult that was run by Conservatives or Republicans, but I live in the biggest poor city in the country, Philadelphia. A city, for decades, run by liberal insiders.
Your whole premise is wrong. It is not the job of government to "help blacks." It is supposed to be their job to ensure the starting points are equal, and to stay out of the way as jobs are created and the economy grows. But instead, we have suffered through 12 plus years of gross government interference and governmental policies aimed at "helping blacks", when the only thing they have done is hurt everyone. Just as long as whitey gets his, right?
The City of Philadelphia is going through a Renaissance thanks to the demand of young White millennials who want to live in vibrant urban areas. We have a thriving higher education community, one of the country’s best restaurant scenes and home values and rent prices are going up while 10 year property tax abatements make owning new and renovated homes in the City an attractive financial investment. We are an unapologetically liberal city and you cannot be elected in this City without black voters. But why is it that the black community is not benefiting from this same Renaissance as their white liberal counterparts?
No idea, except if blacks are waiting for the government to make their lives better, they are doing it wrong.
While the children of our liberal contemporaries attend expensive private universities, how many black men are getting pulled into the prison system because of stop and frisk searches in these supposedly liberal cities? How many so called white liberals have really fought for those civil rights violations to be ended? My own city has a stop and frisk policy in place (even after promises of stopping it), but is also a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants. It’s ironic that the liberal elites proudly proclaim the inhumanity of deportation which could break up the families of these immigrants, but they are more than happy to justify the need to send black men and women to prison for minor infractions, thus separating the families of American citizens. Where is the outrage for our families? Oh yeah, you can take the African-American vote for granted, so you don’t need to do more than pay lip service to our concerns.
Oh, you were done? Allow me to retort just as soon as I finish laughing.
White liberals posting on Facebook about #blacklivesmatter, white privilege and supremacy are not cleansed of their hypocrisy and elitism because they use the right hash tags. I would urge these same people to get off their iPhones and look around to see the issues they ignore in their own lives.
Looking up from an iPhone? The deuce you say! And BTW, blacks are even worse about their noses being buried in their phones.
If you’re one of these people, before you cry out in offense, ask yourself where you chose to live and how many of your neighbors, that you know, are people of color. Where do your kids go to school?
I'm flat surrounded by them. It's Indian country where I live and work.
I live in a middle class neighbourhood. All those around me, white, black, or purple, are middle class people with middle class virtues, except for the one Section 8 apartment complex which contains people who are as white, black, or purple as the rest of the community.
Who are your friends and colleagues? Who do you see next to you while you’re in your meeting at work? What have you done to change those inequalities?
My neighbors don't control or discipline their hellspawn. How the hell is changing that my job?
Have you recommended a black friend for a job at your company, or told them about a house for sale in your neighborhood or recommended a talented black child go to your child’s school? Answer these questions honestly and you’ll realize that you might not be who you think you are when it comes to racial issues in this country. Are you are part of the group I’m referring to as smug white liberals and you don’t even know it?

If I were to ask what issues of the Democratic Platform from this Presidential Election would address the issues of the African-American community I’m assuming most liberals would point to criminal justice reform.
Going smooth out of business would be a good place to start, but do go on.
However, the push for criminal justice reform is coincidentally occurring parallel to the epidemic of opioid abuse in white communities.
Criminal justice reform == not getting arrested == not getting your ass kicked/shot
I would argue this is what is actually driving the policy shift from incarceration to treatment, because the sweeping tragedy of drug abuse that has gripped the black community for the last 30 years, is now affecting the same liberal elites that referred to our family members as predators and criminals rather than addicts deserving of compassion.
Heh
Suggesting that blacks stop being Democrats or Liberals would be a waste of my time, but what I am suggesting is that we require white liberals to do more than pat us on the head and tell us they know better. Free programs aren’t enough, nor are they actually free for African-Americans. How many stories have we heard of African-Americans being excessively fined for minor civil infractions or misdemeanor criminal matters?
Ah yes, the peril of being poor, which hits all poor people unfairly.
Those fines are used for running a system that not only doesn’t work for our community but many times exposes us to a criminal justice system that causes us to become unemployable or financially decimates our families.
Programs that "help blacks" are extracted out of taxpayers by force. Tell me how whites should continue to support this gross violation of civil rights, while blacks complain about their status in life by committing even more gross civil rights violations against taxpayers.
Remember Eric Garner, the man in New York that died from a chokehold for selling loose cigarettes? That enforcement order was created during Democratic Mayor and Democratic Governor’s administrations. I’m sure that they believed that the revenue generated by the cigarette tax would fund important programs for the poor, but there was a real cost to African-Americans in the community who were fined, harassed, incarcerated and, in the case of Eric Garner, died over a tax. Let’s not forget the 10 year tax abatement that brings wealthy white liberals to the City, but increases the taxes for many poor home owners of color making it prohibitively expensive to stay in neighborhoods where they may have lived for decades.
Governmental edicts that affect markets are by their very nature contradictory and poor public policy.
We need results not more empty promises. We need to take a serious look at the policies that will truly make it possible for blacks to attain better job opportunities, stronger families, safer neighborhoods and better schools.
Reduce the size, scope and power of government, and stop electing liberals and Democrats is a good place to start.
If we continue to align ourselves with liberal elites that lecture about the evils of discrimination, but don’t want to see us as their boss (or even colleague), competing for opportunities against their children, or as their neighbors, then we need to look at what other groups can offer the African-American community in terms of opportunities or effective policies that will allow us to prosper.
Check out the conservatives. We're already doing the things you say you want.
If the only conversation we’re requiring them to have about us is about keeping us out of prison or getting less jail time, then we are so far behind that I am not sure that we will ever catch up.
It has taken three solid generations of these policies to get to where we are: robbing taxpayers and passing the proceeds to those who won't work, and calling it social justice
We must take control of the narratives about our issues because white liberals are talking about things that may make you feel better, but are not improving the quality of life for your family or our community. Anyone that would tell your children to do something that they wouldn’t tell their own child is not your ally. While these conversations, driven by the elites, are seemingly sympathetic, they will only keep our children at the bottom, and uncompetitive to their own children.

The truth is that Liberalism is about making elites feel better about themselves and their lives without requiring the underlying action of significantly improving the lives of African-Americans. Hillary Clinton rightly says that it’s not about what you say about problem, but you should be judged by what you are doing to solve the problem. In this election, let’s take her at her word and take a deeper look at what Liberalism is really doing for us.
Do an Alinsky on Hillary Clinton by demanding she live up to her stated standards? A brilliant idea -- you'll yet realize you have actually been a conservative all along, dear Writer.

#1  One of the things that always attracted me to the party were the ideals of equality, fighting for the little guy and our openness to differing opinions You fell for that line of B.S. Man, did you ever get suckered. Now, that your eyes are beginning to open, what are you going to do about these problems? Hope you don't join some Soros-backed lefty group such as BLM and be used as a tool. Agreed, the Pubs haven't done much either. Those in government seem to be afraid to rock the boat and yeah, they seem to be more a part of the Beltway Party with the exception of a few. The Beltway Party, if you might not have heard the term is the Party that consists of both Donks and Pubs who are more concerned with life-time jobs and getting rich off the government. The Pubs seem to be less corrupted than the Dems but this could be an illusion. Sad state, eh? Presently, the Dem Party as exemplied by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Kaine, Hillary Clinton, etc. are not looking out for you or the rest of us for that matter. These people would rather lie than tell the truth to conceal what they are really about. You might consider joining the large numbers of "deplorables" who are hopeful that they might have a champion in Trump--these are the people who are the legions of the fed up and pissed off if you have wondered. They are tired of seeing the cancerous rot gnaw at the country from the inside out. Americans are tired of being screwed and their industries and jobs being farmed out to other countries. They are tired of seeing the country and its wealth sold out to people who are hostile to us and in some cases our enemies. There are no guarantees though. The best way to stop this crap is to become involved and to be informed and to demand that your politicians actually represent you rather than special interests. In other words, do what's right for the country rather than what is good for a Party, a politician, special interests, or some hyphenated group of people in the U.S.A. Take a chance. What have you got to lose? Our country was built by risk-takers; not the timid.

#4  No amount of 'concern' or money will fix the problem until the community looks in the mirror to see why they're behind many other communities in the metrics you identify and take responsibility for their own acts that limit or destroy opportunity. BTW, do those White Liberal Democrats show as much 'concern' or shower as much money on poor whites who are just about twice the number as in your self identified community? They write off those 'deplorables', even when they've been a reliable source of votes.

#6  Two things jump immediately to mind as I read this whinge:

1) When you hear hoof beats think horses not zebras.

There is a reason that your community breeds the majority of criminals and 70% unwed parents.

2) Reynolds’ Law

The government decides to try to increase the middle class by subsidizing things that middle class people have: If middle-class people go to college and own homes, then surely if more people go to college and own homes, we’ll have more middle-class people. But homeownership and college aren’t causes of middle-class status, they’re markers for possessing the kinds of traits — self-discipline, the ability to defer gratification, etc. — that let you enter, and stay, in the middle class. Subsidizing the markers doesn’t produce the traits; if anything, it undermines them.
I dub this Reynolds’ Law: “Subsidizing the markers of status doesn’t produce the character traits that result in that status; it undermines them.”

Migrant youths' reign of terror OVER as vigilantes attack thugs in shocking footage
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] OUTRAGED locals who say they have been terrorised by migrant thugs for months have taken matters into their own hands to stop the gang.

In violent footage citizens-turned-vigilantes can be seen attacking the group of mostly Turkish youths who are said to have been wreaking havoc in the city of Zaandam in the Netherlands.

The brutal clash was sparked after the youths have continually threatened, intimidated and beaten up citizens and coppers alike.

In the savage clip, a group of Turkish men can be seen brawling with the teenagers after they reportedly had enough of their thuggish behaviour.
Turkish men versus Turkish yoots? Interesting.

Zahid: One Malaysian detainee at Guantanamo Bay may be transferred home
[THEMALAYMAILONLINE] Mohamad Bashir Lap, one of the two Malaysians being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp may be transferred to Malaysia but he will have to continue to undergo the deradicalisation process in prison, said Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said this information was conveyed to him during the meeting he had on Wednesday with Lee Wolowsky, the United States Special Envoy for Guantanamo Closure.

"This possibility is in tandem with our efforts to bring home the Malaysian detainees in Guantanamo Bay," Ahmad Zahid, who is also the home minister, told Malaysian journalists yesterday.

Ahmad Zahid had led the Malaysian delegation to the 71st session of the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
General Assembly here.

Mohamad Bashir and Mohd Farik Amin are the two Malaysians being held at Guantanamo Bay detention camp since 2006 for their involvement with the Jemaah Islamiyah holy warrior group in early 2000.

They are also alleged to have been involved in the bombing at the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta in 2003 and were detained in Bangkok that year.

Ahmad Zahid said the US Periodic Review Board, by consensus, determined that "continued law of war detention of the detainees remains necessary to protect against a continuing significant threat to the security of the United States".

"However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the United States has informed of the possibility of one of them (Mohamad Bashir) being sent back to Malaysia, but he has to continue to undergo the deradicalisation process," he said.

As such, Ahmad Zahid said, a high-level committee under his chairmanship would be established immediately pertaining to the matter.

The committee would comprise representatives from the Home Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Defence Ministry, National Security Council, Attorney-General's Chambers, Royal Malaysia Police, Prisons Department and Immigration Department, he added.

Do ‘White Lives Matter’ in Charlotte? Internet Outrage Grows After Protests Turn Violent
[HEATST] The ongoing protests in Charlotte over the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott has some outraged observers wondering if "white lives matter."

Influential finance blogger Zero Hedge, among others, have drawn attention to a video posted on social media that appears to show Charlotte protestors "beating, dragging, stripping, and laughing at an innocent white man."

Many were also outraged by witness reports that Charlotte protesters had tried to throw a photographer into a burning fire.

Other videos emerged on social media showing protesters attacking white bystanders. Users tweeted them out using the hashtag #WhiteLivesMatter.

The left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center has described "White Lives Matter" as a "racist" and "neo-Nazi" movement established in response to the Black Lives Matter movement.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Female Marine finishes Phase I of MARSOC training, but falls short of advancing to next phase
A female Marine came close to passing the first phase of Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command training.

The service member, a corporal, met the minimum requirements for all the scored events of the first phase of the assessment and selection, or A & S, process, but did not score high enough to allow her to advance to the next part in the year-long training, Marine Corps Special Operations Command spokesman Maj. Nicholas Mannweiler said Friday.

"That's a good thing for her because she's now seen it; she has an idea of the areas she needs to improve in," MARSOC spokesman Maj. Nicholas Mannweiler said on Friday.

Mannweiler declined to identify the corporal, who can attempt the training again up to two more times.

The first phase of Raider training last three weeks and requires candidates to run up to 12 miles while wearing their ruck sacks, pass land navigation, swimming and hiking tests and complete other physical and classroom instruction.

"Each of the events in Phase 1 is scored," Mannweiler explained. "There's a target score required for every event. To meet just the minimum threshold of those doesn't mean that you have the minimum passing scores to get through Phase 1 of A & S. That's to accommodate for strengths and weaknesses across different areas."

Military.com first reported that the corporal had achieved the minimum scores but would not advance to the next phase of training.

Veteran Shelly Burgoyne, a former Army lieutenant who commanded combat resupply convoys in Iraq, said she is encouraged that the corporal came close to advancing. She also said it will take patience to fully integrate women into combat jobs that had been restricted to men only.

"Yes, this particular Marine did not make it through this time but she got pretty far, and I think this is good news," Burgoyne said. "I also think it is good news that the Marine Corps Special Forces command are seemingly supportive and are being smart about integration."

"Eventually a woman will pass," she said. "For hundreds of years they have not been given access to these courses and jobs, and, especially with Special Forces, it might take time. As long as all combat jobs and schools remain accessible to qualified women, no matter the number who make it, we are going in the right direction."

Jeff Schogol covers Marine Corps leadership, gender integration, aviation, and Pacific-based Marines for Marine Corps Times. He can be reached at jschogol@marinecorpstimes.com.

Europe
Polish MP Demands ‘Pest’ Soros Is Stripped Of Country’s Highest Honour
[BREITBART] The recent deterioration of George Soros’s public image has been astonishing. Following coverage of his subversive operations across the world ‐ including his efforts to destabilise Poland ‐ now even the establishment media have picked up on his destructive activities, with Bloomberg recently covering his plan to marginalise Israel.
...spending almost $10 million there since 2001, according to the Jerusalem Post. J Street was only one of the arrows in that quiver.
Similarly, the list of Soros’s safe havens has also been shrinking dramatically. Until recently, out of all the EU countries, only his native Hungary had the courage to suggest his carefully crafted image of ’global philanthropist’ may be a smoke screen. The country’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban pointed out that Soros is acting to destabilise Europe by supporting illegal migrants colonists from the Middle East. Now his hold over Eastern Europe seems to be waning even further with Polish politicians also picking up on his suspicious activity.

Soros has really entrenched himself in Poland over the last three decades, having established the Stefan Batory Foundation (an off shoot of the Open Society Foundation) in Warsaw in 1988, which admittedly initially had some positive input in helping the Polish society out of the Communist sphere of influence.

Even though the more conservative element has always been suspicious of his real intentions, the ruling class has typically come out in his support, culminating in the former President awarding George Soros the highest Polish decoration available to foreigners.

No Polish politician dared publicly criticised Soros until last recently, when the eurosceptic MP Krystyna Pawłowicz levied a number of direct accusations at him.

Professor Pawłowicz is recognised as a close aide of Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the ruling PiS (Law and Justice) party. Ms. Pawłowicz branded Soros a "supra-national lefty troublemaker" who is "openly and brazenly financing the anti-democratic and anti-Polish element with a view to fight Polish illusory sovereignty and indigenous Christian culture". She further described his activity as "anti-Polish and violating the principles of the Polish constitution".

Stressing the covert, revolutionary activities of the global speculator, Prof. Pawłowicz went on to accuse Mr. Soros of promoting "unconstitutional and immoral derailment of the society" and of "financing of any initiatives directed against the current democratically elected Polish authorities".

Having had a distinguished legal career prior to entering the Polish parliament, inclusive of being a former Constitutional Tribunal judge, Prof. Pawłowicz has been particularly focused on the compatibility of Mr. Soros’s operations with the Polish constitution, and questioned whether his activities are in fact altogether illegal in Poland.

Convinced of George Soros’s negative influence on her country, Krystyna Pawłowicz recently called for the relevant authorities to assess the legality of the Polish activities of, as she phrased it, "this pest". She has further demanded that he is stripped of the Commandery with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (one of highest Polish honours, awarded typically to foreigners who have rendered great service to Poland) which was awarded to him in 2012 by the former Polish President Komorowski.

This marks a 180-degree turn in the sentiment towards George Soros in one of the historically most sympathetic countries.
