Moscow mystery: CIA sources disappear
US officials say US intelligence remains 'in the dark' when it comes to Putin's intentions ahead of November's midterm elections, following the 'silencing' of Russian intelligence sources who 'went underground, but most likely were not killed.'

Trump renews attack on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, claiming 'real corruption goes untouched'
[ABC] President Trump lashed out again at Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying he lets "real corruption" go untouched while special counsel Robert Mueller's team is "having a field day."

Trump appeared to be responding to an unusual statement by the attorney generals this week defending himself against the president’s attacks, with Sessions saying: "While I am Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations."

The president shot back in a tweet Saturday morning that Sessions "doesn't understand what is happening" beneath him. The tweet reiterated the president's attack on the special counsel probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election as politically motivated and a distraction from "real corruption."

#1  He's got a point. Sessions job was to fix the Depart of Justice. Instead he has been a typical swamp rat Sentor, sitting there with his thumb up his ass while the beltway bureacrat democrat machines screw conservatives and coddle progressives.

Sessions must go - and we need someone in there that will shake it up massively, starting with firing anyone that showed political bias, and going hard after them in court, starting with Lerner, Mueller, and others for the IRS and Benghazi debacle.

Impeachment for Dummies
[PJ] At the very moment the GNP is humming along at 4.1 percent, the S & P is at record highs, and unemployment is at record lows (for blacks and Hispanics too), the infantile buffoons in the Democratic Party and their mainstream media lackeys are calling so loudly and incessantly for the impeachment of the president you'd have to be on the North Col of Everest not to hear them. And even then you'd have to be wearing the most expensive noise-canceling ear muffs extant.

And of course they are screaming equally loudly, "Russia-Russia-Russia" when anyone with an IQ within spitting distance of triple digits knows the real problem for the USA has been China by roughly 400X for the last decade or longer.

If you're looking for someone to impeach, how about Dianne Feinstein who, we just learned, had a Chinese spy as her chauffeur for twenty years, even while she was chair of the Senate Intel Committee? At virtually the same time ‐ 2010-ish, when Obama was president ‐ close to the entire U.S. spy network in China, several dozen people, were apprehended by the Chinese on their soil in an unprecedented intelligence disaster. Only a few survived. Connection? Perhaps the New York Times or the Washington Post will investigate (as if).

The amount of corruption is what disturbs me however.I have no fear because they are out of money and will always run out of money. They will always have to go begging to the Russians, Chinese or whomever has the money to throw away. Something they have always done. What I will enjoy is seeing the Democrat kiss up to their traditional base they abandoned.

South Africa's Ramaphosa disappointingly slow to embrace private sector
[News24] President Cyril Ramaphosa has been disappointingly slow to embrace the private sector in SA, political analyst Daniel Silke said on Friday.

He was one of the presenters at an international retirement seminar hosted by Sovereign Trust SA in Cape Town.

"There is an opportunity for the SA government to embrace the private sector. Ramaphosa promised in his State of the Nation address to institute a process to have a presidential economic advisory committee and to take decision making beyond just the ANC. We have not seen much of that. It has been extremely slow," said Silke.

"If there is one thing Ramaphosa can do, it is getting on with the job of moving beyond the myopic Soviet just-ANC vision and rather reaching out to the private sector regarding the economy."

He had not seen much evidence of Ramaphosa trying to rope in the private sector for much-needed efforts to bridge the gap between rich and poor.

Northeastern Prof Warns: Male Military Veterans ‘Reinforce Hegemonic Masculinity,' Sexism
[PJMedia] A professor at Northeastern University recently published an academic study warning that military veterans “reinforce hegemonic masculinity,” and ultimately contribute to “men’s dominance over women.”

The study, titled “How Military Service Members Reinforce Hegemonic Masculinity in Talk,” was published in the Western Journal of Communication on August 10. It was written by Northeastern Professor Bobbi J. Van Gilder.

The other noteworthy fact about her research, in addition to the small sie of her sample base, is that she did not interview a similar number of female current/former service members, not to mention a similar number of civilian males. This is not science, and the lady should move her august self to a less rigorous profession — marketing, perhaps, or catalog sales.

Manafort juror's message to Trump: Pardon would be 'big mistake'
(Reuters) - A juror who voted to convict Paul Manafort and who is also a supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump has some advice for Trump if he is considering whether to pardon his former campaign chairman: don’t do it.

Paula Duncan is so far the only juror to speak out since Manafort was found guilty of 8 out of 18 counts of financial wrongdoing on Tuesday.

"He should absolutely not pardon him. I think it would be a big mistake," Duncan, 54, told Reuters after an on-camera interview on Friday, adding that she believed it would be a mistake from both a moral and a political perspective.

"If President Trump pardons him without him doing any time at all it would look like President Trump was saying it’s OK that you broke the law. It’s not OK to break the law."

Trump weighed in on Manafort’s plight while the jury was still in deliberations, calling the tax and bank fraud case against him "very sad" and lauding him as a "very good person."

U.S. official says EU aid for Iran sends 'wrong message'
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top U.S. envoy on Iran criticized a European Union decision to give $20.7 million in aid to Tehran on Friday, saying it sent "the wrong message at the wrong time," and he urged Brussels to help Washington end the Iranian threat to global stability.

"Foreign aid from European taxpayers perpetuates the regime’s ability to neglect the needs of its people and stifles meaningful policy changes," Brian Hook, the U.S. special representative for Iran, said in a statement.

"The Iranian people face very real economic pressures caused by their government’s corruption, mismanagement, and deep investment in terrorism and foreign conflicts," he added. "The United States and the European Union should be working together instead to find lasting solutions that truly support Iran’s people and end the regime’s threats to regional and global stability."

The EU decision on Thursday to provide 18 million euros ($20.7 million) in aid to Iran was aimed at offsetting the impact of U.S. sanctions as European countries try to salvage the 2015 agreement that saw Tehran limit its nuclear ambitions.

President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the nuclear deal in May and is reimposing sanctions on Tehran, even as other parties to the accord are trying to find ways to save the agreement.

French Open to ban Serena's 'catsuit'
[Reuters] The French Open is introducing a dress code for next season, with an official pointing out three-time champion Serena Williams as a prime reason.

French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli said the "catsuit" worn by Williams during this year’s tournament would be out of bounds going forward.

"It will no longer be accepted. One must respect the game and the place," said Giudicelli.

Williams wore the skin-tight black catsuit for her opening match at Roland Garros this year, saying it made her feel like a super hero and dedicating it to new mothers.

"All the moms out there that had a tough pregnancy ... have to come back and try to be fierce, in (the) middle of everything," said Williams, who was returning from a long layoff after the birth of her first child.

The new rules weren’t released, but Giudicelli says they won’t be as restrictive as Wimbledon’s all-white policy.

Dem Rep Green: Trump Doesn't Need to Commit a Crime to Be Impeached ‐ 218 House Members Decide
[Breitbart] Thursday on "Democracy Now," Rep. Al Green (D-TX) said President Donald Trump could be impeached without having committed a crime.

Green said, "This is a very sad time in the history of our country. This is not something that I enjoy talking about, nor is it something that I would like to do. But I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that the president will have two options: One, he can resign from office, or, two, he can face impeachment. Impeachment is something that the Framers of the Constitution provided for a time such as this and a president such as Trump. The president does not have to commit a crime to be impeached. In fact, the president is not likely to be indicted, which means he’s not likely to be found guilty of a crime while he’s sitting, which means that if this comes before the House, it won’t come before the House as a president who has been found guilty, but rather as a president who is alleged to have committed certain offenses that are onerous to the Constitution and that harm society. And what this president is doing is harming society."

He continued, "More specifically, what Mr. Cohen stated in court‐he had a lawyer. He is a lawyer. He says that he and the president of the United States conspired. He didn’t use that exact word, but that’s what it means when you say the president directed you, and you followed through. So they conspired to commit an offense. The president may never be found guilty of it, but he can be impeached for it. It’s my opinion that the Judiciary Committee is not doing its job. This whole impeachment investigation is being outsourced. The Framers of the Constitution intended for the Judiciary Committee to do this‐gather information, make decisions, move forward. If the Judiciary Committee doesn’t move forward, then I think it’s incumbent upon the 435 members, each of whom have the opportunity to bring articles of impeachment, to consider doing so. I will surely consider doing so."

So, Why Has U.S. Life Expectancy Declined Now Two Years In A Row?
BLUF:
[Hot Air] So, what’s going on? Ans: A number of things, some passing, some apparently systemic.

Reuters reports it’s a combination of factors starting with a particularly vicious cycle of flu seasons, which is especially deadly among the elderly. Many population cohorts like baby boomers are aging and succumbing to diseases that often claim the elderly like pneumonia, cardiovascular and Alzheimer’s diseases.

In the U.S. a major reason for the life expectancy decline came from younger generations, people in their 20s and 30s who died from the ongoing epidemic of drug addiction and overdoses.

One study’s lead author is Dr. Steven H. Woolf of Virginia Commonwealth University. He said:

A leading cause is fatal drug overdoses ‐ fueled by the opioid epidemic. But we make a mistake if we focus only on the drug problem.

Woolf also cited what he calls "deaths of despair," fatalities stemming from alcoholism and suicide.

That study also uncovered a growing midlife death rate from numerous diseases of the lungs, heart, lungs, digestive systems and other organs and rising death rates during pregnancy and early childhood.

The specific reasons for the increase in deaths caused by drugs and alcohol, particularly among white Americans, Woolf said, is "unclear, complex, and not explained by opioids alone."

He added, "Something far-reaching is affecting the health of Americans in the prime of their lives."

Yep. Where I live premium + deductible have reached 500% of pre-ACA levels but that's not apples-to-apples as what's left is a crappy HMO and what 20% of the cost of the HMO bought before was a gold-plated low deductible plan. There's now a grand total of one seller of individual & small business plans. No coverage is available that covers issues that occur outside the state and the better health care providers in urban areas within the state are not available to residents of rural areas. The ACA is very literally killing people where I live.

A lot of good medical people, MDs, are quitting or going to cash-only.

And there is a nursing shortage thats only gotten worse: retirement understaffing and burnout are costing us the most experienced RNs. And to top it off, the millennials are not getting into the field in sufficient numbers to even come close to partially replace them.

Its the payoff for Soros, Clinton, Obama, Reid, Pelosi and progressives, designed to produce more depression so they can push for bigger more controlling government that they can run.

[Hot Air] The debate he and Martha MacCallum have in the clip below was so predictable that MacCallum didn’t bother to bring on a right-wing opponent to have it out with him. Why bother? She could easily handle it herself. Every time an American citizen is killed by an illegal, intentionally or not, the conversation proceeds the same way. In sum:

Geraldo: This is a tragedy but we mustn’t blame the entire illegal population for the terrible acts of one monster.
MacCallum: I’m not blaming all of them. But the fact remains that Mollie Tibbetts’s death was avoidable because the killer shouldn’t have been here.

Geraldo: What about all the American citizens who murdered people this week?

MacCallum: Like it or not, those people had a right to be here. Tibbetts’s killer didn’t.

Geraldo: This is a murder story, not an immigration story!

Eight women open up about being on the pill
[BBC] Some 500 million women around the world have used the birth control pill at some point in their lives, including four out of five sexually active women in the US and seven out of 10 of all women in the UK. Since their introduction in 1950, oral contraceptives have prevented billions of unwanted pregnancies around the world. They’ve also ushered in a social and economic revolution.

But for some women, the pill has had a downside: though many users report no side effects from the pill, others have the opposite experience. Recognised potential side effects include everything from depression to blood clots like deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Increasing attention about these risks may be part of the reason why, in the UK, the number of women taking hormonal birth control has been declining in recent years, with women turning to non-hormonal or long-acting reversible contraceptives instead.

Eight women around the globe ‐ from the US to Nepal, Venezuela to Tanzania ‐ tell us about how the birth control pill was for them... and why they decided to go off it. Watch the video, above, to hear what they have to say.

This story is part of the Health Gap, a special series about how men and women experience the medical system ‐ and their own health ‐ in starkly different ways.

Do you have an experience to share? Or are you just interested in sharing information about women's health and wellbeing? Join our Facebook group Future Woman and be a part of the conversation about the day-to-day issues that affect women’s lives.

Is it too late to Jail John Brennan?
[American Thinker] If you were alive in 1940, for an even dollar (or for 83¢ if you were an annual subscriber), you could have bought a copy of Fortune magazine and read the results of its July 1940 survey that shed light on the prevailing political views of your fellow Americans. If you had done this, you would have learned that 37.8 percent of respondents thought communist sympathizers should be jailed or deported.

As Americans fought in World War II and then in the Korean War, staunch anti-communist sentiment continued. In 1954, 71.8% of Americans thought communists should not be allowed to make speeches in their communities, and 93.6% thought communists teaching at American colleges should be fired.

While in the 1940s and 1950s, one might have expected a public debate about whether we should jail or deport communist sympathizers, limit their speech, or fire them from their teaching jobs, today, these notions seem a bit over the top.

Instead, today you can be a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America as well as a self-proclaimed communist and still graduate from our military academies. Just ask Spenser Rapone and his mentor at West Point, Professor Rasheed Hosein.

Today, not only can you work for the United States government as a communist sympathizer, but you can even become the director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Just ask John Brennan.

Americans should not be surprised by any of this, as far-left ideologies have become the mainstream. Today, the majority of Democrats, 57%, view socialism favorably, while only 47% of them view capitalism favorably.

This massive shift within the American polity will no doubt manifest itself the next time the Democratic Party takes power of the federal government. Just ask the DSA member and the Democratic Party's nominee for New York's 14th Congressional District, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

So to answer the original question as to whether it is too late to jail John Brennan: yes, it is too late. We are about 75 years too late to jail Brennan...for being a communist sympathizer, that is.

But for being the "puppet master of the entire scheme to violate the civil liberties of Donald Trump and his [campaign] team," we very well may be just a couple years too early.

China-Japan-Koreas
Chinese Communist Party Funds Washington Think Tanks
[Free Beacon] China's Communist Party is intensifying covert influence operations in the United States that include funding Washington think tanks and coercing Chinese Americans, according to a congressional commission report.

The influence operations are conducted by the United Front Work Department, a Central Committee organ that employs tens of thousands of operatives who seek to use both overt and covert operations to promote Communist Party policies.

The Party's United Front strategy includes paying several Washington think tanks with the goal influencing their actions and adopting positions that support Beijing's policies.

"The [Chinese Communist Party] has sought to influence academic discourse on China and in certain instances has infringed upon‐and potentially criminally violated‐rights to freedoms of speech and association that are guaranteed to Americans and those protected by U.S. laws," the report says.

"Despite the CCP's candid discussion of its United Front strategy, the breadth and depth of this issue remain relatively unknown to U.S. policymakers."

The report said the Johns Hopkins School of Advance International Studies, a major foreign policy education and analysis institute, has received funding from Tung Chee-hwa, a vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the party group that directs the United Front Work Department and includes a member of the Politburo Standing Committee, the collective dictatorship that rules China.

The funding for Johns Hopkins came from Tung's non-profit group in Hong Kong, the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation, which is a registered Chinese agent.

In addition to Johns Hopkins, other think tanks funded by China and influential in American policy circles include the Brookings Institution, Atlantic Council, Center for American Progress, EastWest Institute, Carter Center, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Palestinians clash with IDF on Gaza border; 189 said wounded
[IsraelTimes] Protests come amid reports Israel is in advanced talks with Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, via UN and Egyptian mediation, for a long-term truce

Some 5,000 Paleostinians protested Friday along the border between the Gazoo Strip and Israel, according to Paleostinian reports.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gazoo said some 189 demonstrators were maimed in festivities with IDF troops, including 50 who were hit by live fire.

The army said rioters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at troops.

According to Paleostinian reports, Israeli snipers opened fire on two groups of Paleostinians who tried to breach the border at two different locations.

One incendiary kite sent over the border from the Strip caused a fire in the Sha’ar Hanegev region.

The festivities came hours after Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman denied involvement in talks on a long-term ceasefire agreement with Hamas in the Gazoo Strip.

Reports have proliferated that Israel is in advanced talks with Hamas, via UN and Egyptian mediation, for a long-term truce in the Strip.

At least 171 Gazooks have been killed by Israeli fire since the start of the festivities, according to the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run health ministry. An Israeli soldier was shot to death by a Paleostinian sniper. Hamas has acknowledged that dozens of the Paleostinian fatalities were members of terror groups.
Al Jazeera adds more in the latest post on their on-going Gaza Protests blog:
Approximately, 5,000 people attended Friday's demonstration, the 22nd Friday of rallies.

"There are fewer people here this week that we've seen in recent weeks," said Stratford.

"Some ... think that one of the reasons why the protests are being [attended by fewer people] this week is because we are expecting the resumptions of the talks being mediated by the Egyptians in Cairo, between Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and Israel.

"Israel denies that there is any direct conversation going ... but we do know the Egyptians are being very keen and are working very hard to get both parties to agree to some sort of lasting ceasefire," he added.

Google blocks accounts in ‘influence operation’ linked to Iran
[IsraelTimes] Move by tech giant comes a day after Facebook and Twitter announced shuttering of pages tied to Iranian misinformation campaign

Google said Thursday it blocked YouTube channels and other accounts over a misinformation campaign linked to Iran, on the heels of similar moves by Facebook and Twitter.

Google said that working with the cybersecurity firm FireEye, it linked the accounts to the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran Broadcasting as part of an effort dating to at least January 2017.

"We identified and terminated a number of accounts linked to the IRIB organization that disguised their connection to this effort," Google vice president Kent Walker said in a statement.

"Actors engaged in this type of influence operation violate our policies, and we swiftly remove such content from our services and terminate these actors’ accounts."

Google became the latest online service to crack down on misinformation efforts stemming from Russia and Iran, with the apparent aim of sowing discord and confusion ahead of the November US elections.

The tech giant said it blocked 39 YouTube channels that had racked up to total of 13,466 views in the US
Golly. What an effective project.
on "relevant videos" and disabled six accounts at Blogger and 13 accounts at its Google+ social network.

"In addition to the intelligence we received from FireEye, our teams have investigated a broader range of suspicious actors linked to Iran who have engaged in this effort," Google said.

The internet firm added that it has updated US politicians and law enforcement about what its investigation uncovered, including associated political content.

Google also said it has blocked state-sponsored phishing attacks in which deceptive messages were sent to users of its free email service in an effort to trick people into disclosing information such as passwords.

"In recent months, we’ve detected and blocked attempts by state-sponsored actors in various countries to target political campaigns, journalists, activists, and academics located around the world," Google said.

The Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,-based internet giant added that in the past year it has also intensified its defenses against "actors linked to" the Russia-backed Internet Research Agency (IRA).

Google has removed 42 YouTube channels and a Blogger account as a result of watching IRA activities, according to the company.

A FireEye report released on Thursday detailed its findings and expressed confidence in attributing influence campaigns to Iran.

Evidence turned up in the investigation included phone numbers, website registration information, and promotion of content in sync with Iranian political interests, according to the report.

"The activity we have uncovered highlights that multiple actors continue to engage in and experiment with online, social media driven influence operations as a means of shaping political discourse," FireEye said.

"These operations extend well beyond those conducted by Russia."

Israel: Doctors Without Borders nurse shot at troops on Gaza border
More on this story from yesterday.
[ARABNEWS] Israel said an MSF nurse shot at troops on the Gazoo border this week, a charge the medical charity said Friday it was investigating as it confirmed the death of an employee.

"Doctors Without Borders (MSF) confirms that one of its employees, Hani Mohammed Almajdalawi, was killed in Gazoo on Monday, August 20, 2018," the organization said in a statement.

"MSF is working to verify and understand the circumstances regarding this extremely serious incident, and is not able to comment further at this stage," it added.

COGAT, the Israeli defense ministry body responsible for activities in the Paleostinian territories, issued a statement late Thursday slamming MSF as "Terrorism Without Borders."

"Hani al-Almajdalawi, who tried to infiltrate through the security fence in the northern Gazoo Strip while he was armed with a rifle, opened fire toward military forces and even threw an bomb at them," it said.

COGAT said Almajdalawi was "a nurse who worked for the international organization Doctors Without Borders."

MSF has around 200 local and foreign staff in Gazoo and in May the charity condemned Israel’s use of force in border protests as "unacceptable and inhuman."

It described the army’s policy as "shooting with live ammunition at demonstrators, on the assumption that anyone approaching the separation fence is a legitimate target."

Forest fire in area laden with unexploded munitions prompts evacuations near Berlin
[RT] A huge forest fire is burning outside Berlin, where hundreds are being forced to evacuate, authorities say. Efforts have been hampered by unwent kaboom! munitions located in the forest. Some blasts have already been heard.

Some 600 firefighters are currently battling the wildfire around 50km outside the German capital, Brandenburg Interior Minister Karl-Heinz Schroter said, as quoted by local media. Helicopters and water cannons have been deployed at the scene.

Unexploded munitions in the forest are also complicating the firefighting efforts, officials say. "We know there is ammunition lying around in the forest," local politician Guenther Baaske said, adding that some blasts had been heard in the area.

Entire populations in the villages of Frohnsdorf, Klausdorf and Tiefenbrunnen have been ordered to evacuate. "We’ve had forest fires before but never of this magnitude," Treuenbrietzen Mayor Michael Knappe said. More than 500 people had already fled their homes due to the heavy blaze.

Raimund Engel, the Brandenburg commissioner with responsibility for forest fires, described the situation as "dramatic." He said that the blaze had developed into a "full fire" that spread into the treetops.

The Berlin fire service said that smoke also blanketed the German capital and urged city residents to shut their windows and doors. It added that, due to the smell of burning, the firefighters were responding to "a great many emergency calls and reports of fires."

Scott Morrison is new Australian PM as Malcolm Turnbull ousted
[BBC] Scott Morrison has become Australia's new prime minister after Malcolm Turnbull was forced out by party rivals in a bruising leadership contest.

Mr Turnbull had been under pressure from poor polling and what he described as an "insurgency" by conservative MPs.

Mr Morrison, the treasurer, won an internal ballot 45-40 over former Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton - who had been Mr Turnbull's most vocal threat.

Mr Turnbull is the fourth Australian PM in a decade to be ousted by colleagues.

"It has been such a privilege to be the leader of this great nation. I love Australia. I love Australians," he said on Friday.

10-year-old Narail girl fighting for life after being inhumanly abused
[Dhaka Tribune] A 10-year-old girl is fighting for her life at Narail Sadar Hospital after reportedly being physically abused in an inhuman manner during her employment earlier as a domestic help in Dhaka.

The bed-ridden girl, Roksana, is being provided food, oxygen and other amenities through artificial means as her body is not being able to sustain treatment naturally, said the doctors.

Her relatives alleged that her eight-month stint as a domestic help in Dhaka was filled by medieval abuses by her employers.

Roksana was recruited through Saleha Begum, an acquaintance of her family, who took her to work at the house of Asadullah and his wife Sonia on Tipu Sultan Road in the capital’s Wari.

The child was reportedly subjected to various types of abuse, including sexual abuse, without any provocation or reason.

When her physical condition deteriorated on August 17, she was admitted to Dhaka's United Hospital, after which she was handed over to her family. They took her to Narail Sadar Hospital two days later.

Sadar Hospital’s Resident Medical Officer Dr Mashiur Rahman Babu said Roksana's body bore all the evidence of severe physical abuse and she was still not out of danger.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, Buford bit the snake and Eloise began speaking in tongues...
the child’s father Rasel Sheikh filed a case on August 22, Wednesday, with Lohagara cop shoppe, accusing Asadullah, Sonia and her brother Ibrahim for abusing Roksana.

The family only wants Roksana to recover and punishment of those responsible for the barbaric torture on the child.

Lohagara police OC Prabir Biswas said an investigation slip has already been dispatched to Dhaka's Wari cop shoppe and Munshiganj’s Louhajang and Sirajdikhan cop shoppes to trace the accused, who are reportedly on the run at present.

Narail’s Superintendent of Police Jasim Uddin (PPM) said the accused would not be spared and action would be taken against them accordingly for the barbaric acts on the child.

John McCain to discontinue cancer treatment
[RT] After a year of battling aggressive brain cancer, Senator John Maverick McCain
... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump...
(R-Arizona) is discontinuing further medical treatment, his family has announced.

Since he announced the news of the cancer to the American public, "John has surpassed expectations for his survival," the senator’s family said on Friday.

McCain, who is just days shy of his 82nd birthday, left Washington in December 2017 and has not been back since. He chose not to resign from the Senate and have the governor of Arizona appoint a replacement.

Though absent from the Senate floor, McCain has continued to co-sponsor bills and initiatives. At the beginning of August, he joined Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-New Hampshire) Bob Menendez (D-New Jersey), Ben Cardin (D-Maryland), Lindsey Graham
... the endangered South Carolina RINO, fellow maverick of Honest John McCain...
(R-South Carolina) and Cory Gardner (R-Colorado) in sponsoring the "Defending American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act of 2018," an anti-Russian sanctions bill.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Suspected gunman who fired at luxury high-rise warned: ‘I’m about to shoot somebody’
[NYPOST] The man suspected of firing gunshots at a luxury high-rise in Manhattan from Roosevelt Island wrote about shooting "somebody" on his Facebook page weeks earlier.

"This summer is trash. Im bout to shoot somebody," Farris Koroma posted July 14 on his social media page, where he also says he’s a member of the Crips gang.

Koroma, 22, allegedly fired bullets near his home on Roosevelt Island around 1:10 a.m. Saturday ‐ hitting apartment windows 1,400 feet across the river, on a luxury building between East 72nd and East 73rd streets.

Security footage shows the suspect blasting a weapon over the river from a waterfront park, accompanied by a woman ‐ his girlfriend, according to a police source.

Koroma turned himself in to police Thursday night after someone who recognized either him or his girlfriend or both from the video called the cops, sources said.

Koroma’s neighbors in his Main Street residence said they were shocked at the news. They say he had previously attended college upstate and his mom works at the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
over the river, like many residents in the building.

"I am so, so disappointed. I don’t know what’s wrong, maybe he is trying to join a gang, I don’t know. But he’s a good kid," said one resident, who wouldn’t give his name.

Koroma has also posted several photos of himself inside the UN on Facebook.

#1  Reminded of this for some reason...

In the empty immensity of earth, sky, and water, there she was, incomprehensible, firing into a continent. Pop, would go one of the eight-inch guns; a small flame would dart and vanish, a little white smoke would disappear, a tiny projectile would give a feeble screech--and nothing happened. Nothing could happen. There was a touch of insanity in the proceeding, a sense of lugubrious drollery in the sight; and it was not dissipated by somebody on board assuring me earnestly there was a camp of natives--he called them enemies!-- hidden out of sight somewhere.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
-led Resolute Support Mission released a video which shows the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces suppressing the turbans involved in mortar attack on Kabul city during the first day of Eid al-Adha.

"During a 30-minute period, more than 30 mortar rounds were fired by approximately nine armed ISIS-K terrorists. Five were apprehended by the Afghan National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS)," NATO said in a statement.

The statement further added "Deploying within minutes of being mobilized, Crisis Response Unit 222 arrived on-scene and began clearing compounds, while Afghan Air Force MD-530 helicopters engaged and killed an attacker firing mortar rounds from the back of a truck."

According to Resolute Support Mission, two attackers barricaded themselves behind a vehicle and began firing at National Directorate of Security responders. The MD-530s killed one of the barricaded attackers with a precision strafing run, while Crisis Response Unit 222 later engaged and killed the remaining terrorists. Crisis Response Unit 222 continued to clear compounds in the vicinity, although the area was declared secure.

MoI front man Najib Danish had earlier said the attack was likely carried out by three turbans using two vehicles loaded with several rockets.

Danish further added that two security personnel have been slightly maimed during the festivities with the krazed killers.

in Mpeketoni, Lamu West, on Wednesday evening.

Confirming the arrest on Thursday, County Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Paul Leting said the man had already been interrogated but will need to be taken to Nairobi for further questioning.

"It is true. We have arrested the man who has been posting messages on social media about how he engages in sexual relations with children.

"We arrested him in Mpeketoni. We are moving him to Nairobi where we believe he belongs to a bigger syndicate of cybercrime and child molestation," Mr Leting said.

He called on members of the public and social media users to be alert and report such individuals to the police so that action could be taken against them.

In most of his pictures that have gone viral on social media, the man, who is a guard at a local security firm, has been boasting that he is untouchable by police.

In the photo captions, the man describes how he lured his victims, including a Form Two girl and a small child aged between five and six years, and what he did to them.

Thomas Cook evacuates 300 from Egyptian hotel after couple’s deaths
[ARABNEWS] Britannia’s Thomas Cook said it was evacuating all 301 of its customers from a hotel in Egypt’s popular Red Sea resort of Hurghada as a precautionary measure after two of its holidaymakers died in circumstances it said were still unclear.

Local officials said on Friday both deaths were from heart failure, but Egypt’s public prosecutor said the cause was still not yet clear.

John Cooper, 69, and his wife Susan Cooper, a 63-year old who worked for the holiday company in Britannia, were staying at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel and died within hours of each other on Tuesday.

Thomas Cook said it had received further reports of illness among guests at the hotel, without elaborating.

"Safety is always our first priority, so as a precautionary measure we have taken a decision to remove all our customers from this hotel," the company said.

The hotel said there had not been a rise in cases of illness.

The incident comes as Egypt is trying to revive tourism, a crucial source of income, while the economy is still struggling from the years of turmoil that followed a 2011 popular uprising.

A statement from the Red Sea provincial governor’s office, entitled "normal death of an English old man and his wife," said both had died of heart failure.

John Cooper suffered a "circulatory collapse" and died at the hotel. Susan Cooper was taken to hospital after fainting and died there, it said.

Egypt’s public prosecutor later issued a statement saying the cause of the deaths would be revealed as soon as it became clear.

The couple’s daughter Kelly Ormerod, who was on the same holiday along with her three children, also said the cause of death had not been established.

"Mum and Dad were fit and healthy, they had no known health problems," she said in a statement to British local radio station 2BR. "We have no cause of death, a post mortem is underway."

"Dad never went to hospital, he died in the hotel room in front of me. I went to hospital in the ambulance with mum where she passed away," she said.

The general manager of the Aqua Magic, which is a franchise of Frankfurt-based Deutsche Hospitality, said the hotel was deeply saddened.

"The doctor’s preliminary report indicates that death was due to natural causes," Dieter Geiger said in a statement. "There are no indications to support allegations of an increased incidence of illness at the hotel."

Thomas Cook said it would offer customers alternative hotels in the resort or the option to fly back to Britannia later on Friday.

The company said it had last audited the hotel in late July and it had received an overall score of 96 percent.

He is now Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Senior Fellow in National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. He has written for numerous publications such as The Weekly Standard, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times, and he has also authored books of military history.[2] Boot's most recent book, 2018's The Road Not Taken, is a biography of Edward Lansdale.

Boot was born in Moscow.[3] His parents, both Russian Jews, later emigrated from the Soviet Union to Los Angeles, where he was raised.[3][4] Boot was educated at the University of California, Berkeley (BA, History, 1991) and Yale University (MA, Diplomatic History, 1992).[1] He started his journalistic career writing columns for the Berkeley student newspaper The Daily Californian.[5] He later stated that he believes he is the only conservative writer in that paper's history.[5] Boot and his family currently live in the New York area.[1]

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
UN official: Palestinian refugee issue can’t be wished away
[ARABNEWS] The head of the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees suggested that the US slashed his budget early this year to punish the Paleostinians for their criticism of the American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but he warned that the Paleostinian refugee issue will not go away.

The comments by Pierre Kraehenbuehl came amid signs that the US, with Israeli support, is aiming to abolish UNRWA in an apparent attempt to remove one of the most contentious issues in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict from the negotiating agenda.

"One cannot simply wish 5 million people away," Kraehenbuehl, commissioner of the UN Relief and Works Agency, said in an interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

In January, the US, the largest donor to the agency, slashed some $300 million from its annual contribution to UNRWA, prompting what Kraehenbuehl called an unprecedented financial crisis.

Although he has made up some of the deficit by raising money from other countries, the agency still lacks over $200 million. It recently laid off over 100 people in the Gazoo Strip and cut back the hours of 500 other employees. The upcoming school year for hundreds of thousands of Paleostinian children across the Middle East has been threatened.

Kraehenbuehl said he was caught off guard by the American decision, which came just weeks after he had held what he described as a successful meeting with Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...

#2  Why not an UNRWA for Syrian refugees, that will provide food shelter clothing health services and education for all Syrian refugees and their descendants for ever?
UNRWA has been such a success for Palestinian refugees, in keeping them cooped up in camps. Hey how about doing it for the Rohinga refugees?
And you could give control of the new UNRWA's to the militants among their residents. That's sure to help.
Surely the Europeans will be happy to pay billions each year for these blessed UN organizations.
That way you could get them out of Europe. Or maybe the camps should be set up in Europe.

Turkey says military solution for Syria’s Idlib would be a disaster
[ARABNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s foreign minister said on Friday it would be disastrous to seek a military solution in the northern Syrian region of Idlib, a rebel-held enclave which the Syrian government says it aims to recapture.

Idlib is a refuge for civilians and rebels displaced from other areas of Syria as well as for powerful Death Eater forces. It has been hit by a wave of air strikes and shelling this month in a possible prelude to a full-scale government offensive.

Turkey has backed some rebel groups in the region and set up a dozen military observation posts. It is trying to avert an attack by forces loyal to Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

, who is backed by Moscow.

"A military solution here would be a disaster, not just for the Idlib region, but a disaster in terms of Syria’s future," Mevlut Cavusoglu told a news conference in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

The two ministers met in Ankara 10 days ago and Cavusoglu then gave a similar message, saying it would be a "massacre" to bomb Idlib, even though there are gunnies there.

"Where will some 3.5 million civilians go to?" Cavusoglu said on Friday.

"It is important for all of us to neutralize these radical groups," he said. "But we have to distinguish the civilians from the terrorist groups."

Idlib is controlled by an array of krazed killer groups, with Sunni Moslem gunnies believed to be the dominant force there.

Lavrov told the same news conference that tens of thousands of gunnies were trying to obstruct Turkey’s efforts to separate them from more moderate forces.

He said further talks on Idlib would take place in Moscow later on Friday involving the two countries’ defense ministers and intelligence services.

Turkey ready to help Moscow eliminate Idlib militants -- FM
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

is ready to work together with Russia in Syria’s Idlib province to eradicate bandidos Death Eaters in the region, Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint presser with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on Friday.

According to Cavusoglu, it is also important to make sure that the fight against bandidos Death Eaters does not threaten the civilians in the region.

Lavrov noted that Moscow and Ankara "are interested in establishing conditions for Syrian citizens’ secure and decent return to their motherland."

Speaking about the establishment of the Syrian constitutional committee, the Russian diplomat said reports about a disagreement between Russia and Turkey on the issue are false.

Italy clashes with EU over migrants stranded on rescue boat
[ARABNEWS] Italia’s populist government said on Friday it would cut funds for the EU unless other states take in boat migrants colonists stranded in an Italian port, earning a rebuke from Brussels for making unacceptable "threats."

Diplomatic sources told Rooters a meeting of EU state envoys in Brussels found no agreement on how to deal with the 150 mostly Eritrea

n migrants colonists on board the Diciotti, an Italian coasties ship docked in Catania since Monday.

More than 650,000 people have reached Italian shores since 2014 and Rome has begun to take a rigidly anti-immigration line, saying it will not let any more rescue ships dock unless other EU states agree to take the people in.

"There has not been a deal on Diciotti," one diplomat said after the Brussels talks.

Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who heads the anti-immigrant League party, has said they will not be allowed ashore until other EU states agree to take them in ‐ prompting a criminal investigation into whether the migrants colonists are being held against their will.

Salvini’s government ally, Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio, who leads the 5-Star Movement, has said his party will not approve next year’s European Union

funding if there is no action soon.

"The soft line does not work, the hard line will be to withhold funds if they don’t listen to us," Di Maio said.

Rejecting the Italian threats as unacceptable, the EU’s executive European Commission said a solution to the Diciotti case was its "main priority."

"Unconstructive comments, let alone threats ... will not get us any closer to a solution," front man Alexander Winterstein told a news conference on Friday.

The issue of how to handle migrants colonists has bitterly split the EU, although arrivals are down dramatically from their 2015 peak of more than a million.

Italy threatens to pull EU funds over migrant boat crisis

[Dhaka Tribune] Italia's deputy prime minister has threatened to pull the country's EU funding if the bloc does not come to the aid of 150 people stranded aboard an Italian coastguard ship.

The migrants colonists have been blocked at the Sicilian port of Catania on the Diciotti vessel since Monday night because the Italian government is refusing to allow them to disembark without commitments from the EU to take some of them in.

A meeting of high-level representatives from around a dozen EU member states is due to be held on Friday to discuss the issue, according to the Commission.

"In recent months we have had the chance to see how a soft line with the European Union worked and how a hard line works," Italia's Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio said in an interview published on Facebook on Thursday.

"If tomorrow (Friday) nothing comes out of the European Commission meeting, if they decide nothing regarding the Diciotti and the redistribution of the migrants colonists, I and the whole Five Star Movement will no longer be prepared to give 20 billion euros ($23 billion) to the European Union every year."

EU figures for 2016 say Italia contributed just under 14 billion euros to the EU budget -- less than one percent of its gross national income -- while the bloc spent 11.6 billion euros in Italia.

Di Maio, who heads the anti-establishment Five Star, said Italia didn't want the "mickey taken out of us by the union's other countries" on the distribution of migrants colonists.

"The EU was born of principles like solidarity. If it is not capable of redistributing 170 people it has serious problems with its founding principles," he said in an interview with state broadcaster RAI.

Republican declared winner of Ohio special congressional election
Apparently this little by-election of ours is deemed important enough to notice in faraway Egypt.
[AlAhram] Republican congressional candidate Troy Balderson on Friday was declared the winner of a hotly contested Ohio special election that served as a final test of his party's ability to hold off an anticipated surge of Democratic voters in the November elections.

After two weeks of counting additional ballots in a district that has historically provided easy victories to Republicans, Balderson was declared by Franklin County officials as the winner over Democrat Danny O'Connor, who said on Friday he called to concede to Balderson.

In the final vote count Balderson received 104,328 votes, or 50.12 percent, and O’Connor had 102,648 votes, or 49.32 percent, according to Franklin County.

"I'm humbled by the support I've received from voters and look forward to representing Ohio's 12th Congressional district in Congress," Balderson said in a statement. "Danny O'Connor ran a hard-fought race but I look forward to earning the support of voters for a fourth time."

The special election was viewed as a referendum on Republican President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's leadership and a last chance to gauge Democratic strength ahead of November's midterm elections, in which the Republicans are trying to retain majorities in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.

Despite the loss, Democrats are hoping to parlay continued enthusiasm among their base into victories in November. Republicans are using the narrow victory as a warning that many congressional seats could be lost unless candidates invest heavily in their campaigns both through fundraising and campaigning.

The special election was called to replace former Representative Pat Tiberi, who resigned from his seat earlier this year to take a job with a business group. Because the August election was only to fill the remainder of Tiberi’s term, which ends in January, another election, again with Balderson and O'Connor, will be held in November to elect a representative for the new term.

"We went door to door, we went house to house, we made our case for change, and the grassroots army we’ve created is not done yet," O'Connor said in a statement. "In fact, we’re just getting started."

China-Japan-Koreas
Trump calls off Pompeo's planned trip to North Korea
[AlAhram] U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
said on Friday he had canceled Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s planned trip to North Korea because "we are not making sufficient progress" toward the goal of denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.

Trump said in a message on Twitter that Pompeo's visit, which was set for next week, now would likely not take place until after Washington has resolved its trade dispute with China. Trump said China was no longer helping on the North Korea issue.

It was a dramatic shift of tone for Trump, who had previously hailed his June summit with North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
as a success and said the North Korean nuclear threat was over.

"I have asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo not to go to North Korea, at this time, because I feel we are not making sufficient progress with respect to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," Trump said on Twitter.

Negotiations have stalled since the June summit in Singapore. Pompeo is pressing for tangible steps toward North Korea’s abandonment of its nuclear arsenal while Pyongyang is demanding that Washington first make concessions of its own.

Trump's statement came just a day after Pompeo announced he would again visit North Korea and would take his new U.S. special representative, Stephen Biegun, with him in an attempt to break the deadlock.

But Trump asked Pompeo not to go to North Korea during a meeting at the White House on Friday afternoon, a senior White House official said.

"Because of our much tougher Trading stance with China, I do not believe they are helping with the process of denuclearization as they once were (despite the UN Sanctions which are in place)," Trump tweeted.

"Secretary Pompeo looks forward to going to North Korea in the near future, most likely after our Trading relationship with China is resolved," Trump wrote. "In the meantime I would like to send my warmest regards and respect to Chairman Kim. I look forward to seeing him soon!"

PA forces said to thwart West Bank bomb attack against Israeli troops
[IsraelTimes] Large bomb found near road frequently used by IDF soldiers, Ynet reports; bomb's characteristics match MO of PIJ, Hezbollah

Paleostinian security forces this week thwarted a West Bank bombing attack against Israeli soldiers intended to hamper ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, in Gazoo, the Ynet news site reported Friday.

Sources told Ynet the PA forces discovered a large bomb composed of gas canisters, explosives and shrapnel near Route 443, on a road frequently used by IDF forces. The bomb could have potentially caused a large number of casualties.

The road connects the Paleostinian villages of Beit Liqya and Beit Anan. PA forces defused the bomb and notified Israeli authorities, the report said.

The sources noted that the bomb’s characteristics matched the modus operandi of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, as well as Leb’s Hezbollah terror group. Israeli security forces were examining both possibilities.

They added that the planned attack was likely imminent, in an attempt to destabilize ongoing negotiations on a long-term ceasefire in the Gazoo Strip between Israel and the Hamas terror organization.

In January PA security forces discovered and dismantled 12 improvised bombs, each weighing between 20 and 30 kilograms, on a road near Tulkarem. They were apparently intended for use against IDF military vehicles passing the area.

The PA later tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
seven Paleostinians in connection with the planned attack. They were affiliated with Hamas and some had previously been arrested or interrogated by the PA security forces.
Update from Ynet at 12:30 pm:
Hamas condemned on Friday a thwarting of a serious terror attack over the last few days by the Palestinian security, involving the use of an extremely powerful bomb on Highway 443, which was intended to blow up an IDF convoy in a bid to sabotage efforts to reach a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The terror group issued an official statement saying it is "surprised at the continued security coordination, in light of what the Palestinian people are going through because of Israel's policies."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
UN Court Will Hear Iran's Challenge against US Sanctions
[AnNahar] Iran's legal challenge against renewed sanctions by the United States goes before the UN's top court Monday, as Tehran seeks to avert painful punitive measures that could hurt its still fragile economy.

Tehran filed a suit against US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's decision to reimpose economic sanctions at the Hague-based International Court of Justice last month.

After unilaterally pulling out of a historic hard-won deal aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear programme in May, Trump slapped a first round of sanctions on the country in early August.

And a second round is set to come into effect in early November, this time blocking Iran's valuable oil and energy sales.

But Tehran argues that Washington has no right to reinstate such measures and is calling on the ICJ to order the US to "immediately suspend" them.

It is also demanding compensation.

The ICJ is expected to take a couple of months to decide whether to grant Tehran's request for a provisional ruling, while a final decision in the case could actually take years.

International sanctions against Iran were lifted in 2015 when it a struck a landmark accord with the US, Britannia, China, La Belle France, Germany, Russia, agreeing to rein its nuclear ambitions.

- 'ONE-SIDED DEAL' -
But Trump described it as a "horrible one-sided deal (that) failed to achieve the fundamental objective of blocking all paths to an Iranian nuclear bomb."

And even though all of the other parties pleaded with him not to abandon the pact, Trump pulled out and announced he would reinstate sanctions.

Tehran -- which argues that the move violates a little-known Treaty of Amity and Economic Relations signed by the two countries in 1955 -- says that the new sanctions are already hurting its economy. And its currency, the rial, has lost around half its value since April.

A raft of international companies -- including La Belle France's Total, Peugeot and Renault, and Germany's Siemens and Daimler -- have already suspended operations in Iran in the wake of the US move.

Washington "is besieging Iran economically, with all the dramatic consequences that a siege implies for the besieged population," Tehran said in court papers.

Iran "requests that, pending final judgement in the case, the Court indicate... that the USA shall immediately take all measures at its disposal to ensure the suspension of the implementation of all the May 8 sanctions," it said.

Eric De Brabandere, professor of international dispute settlement at Leiden University in the Netherlands, said that the support of many European states for the nuclear deal meant that "Iran's position is strengthened."

And the publicity generated by Iran filing a lawsuit at the ICJ could work in Iran's favour, the expert suggested.

"One of the objectives is to publicly denounce the acts of the United States," De Brabandere told AFP.

- 'MALIGN' ACTIVITIES -
In his executive order, Trump argued that the sanctions would turn up the financial pressure on Tehran to come to a "comprehensive and lasting solution" regarding the activities that the international community regarded as "malign", such as its "ballistic missile programme and its support for terrorism."

But earlier this month, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appeared to rule out any immediate prospect of talks, saying "there will neither be war, nor negotiations," with the US.

Meanwhile,
...back at the laboratory the smoke and fumes had dispersed, to reveal an ominous sight...
both the US and close ally Israel have called on European countries to do more to pressure Iran.

A separate 2016 complaint lodged by Iran against the US for freezing around $2 billion of its assets abroad is due to begin in October, when the United States will argue the ICJ has no authority to hear the case.

Spengler: War of Attrition Against President Trump
[PjMedia] Precisely how does Bill Clinton's main legal fixer turn up as Michael Cohen's attorney in a plea bargain with a special prosecutor?

If you put that kind of plot line in a political thriller, the public would laugh you off the newsstand book racks. Nonetheless, we now have Lanny Davis, special counsel to the president for Bill Clinton during 1996-1998, declaring to CNN: "It's my observation that Mr. Cohen has knowledge that would be of interest to the special counsel about the issue of whether Donald Trump, ahead of time, knew about the hacking of emails, which is a computer crime." On Tuesday Davis told MSNBC that Cohen knew about "the possibility of a conspiracy to collude and corrupt the American democracy system in the 2016 election."

There you have it, boys and girls: None of this has anything to do with paying off floozies who claimed to have done the dirty with a presidential candidate. No one cares about that. It's about using the legal system to extract "confessions" from Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen that will keep the Black Legend alive of a Russian hack of the 2016 elections. Cohen has no more knowledge of this, I am ready to wager, than he does of space aliens colonizing Chicago. Nonetheless, the swamp and their pet jackals in the media will spin new allegations until the public gets dizzy.

...There's no collusion, no smoking gun, no high crime or misdemeanor in all of this: There's no secret at the bottom of the garbage pile that will bring down the Trump presidency. It's not a criminal investigation. It's a war of attrition, intended to distract and ultimately exhaust the president.
Of course, this particular president may thrive on such war

's Ghaseet Pura RB-69 area on Thursday evening, area police said on Friday.

According to an FIR registered on behalf of the state by the Balochni cop shoppe ‐ in the remits of which the incident took place ‐ the dispute took place at 7:30pm between a group of youth belonging to the Ahmadi community residing in the area and another group from which one person's cycle of violence allegedly hit a chicken belonging to the former group.

A heated argument ensued which soon blew out of proportion, according to the police report, which further describes that slogans were raised, shots were fired, stones were pelted, and a nearby Ahmadi place of worship was damaged and set on fire ‐ all in the presence of police officials ‐ causing panic among the residents. Thirty-one people were maimed as a result, including six belonging to the Ahmadi community.

Saleemuddin, a spokesperson of the Ahmadi community, told Dawn.com that what began as a verbal altercation "was given a religious colour" and soon turned into a full-blown fight.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, while addressing a presser, described the incident as a "personal conflict" and " a law and order situation" between two groups.

A police vehicle on routine patrol received word from Rescue 15 about the fight. The situation was later defused when the superintendent police (SP) and the district police officer (DPO) arrived at the scene and took control. No arrests were made and as many as 70-80 unknown people from either side are on the run, said the police report.

The injured were taken to Allied, Civil and THQ Khorianwala hospitals.

The police recovered 10 spent bullet casings and five spent bullet cartridges from the scene along with burnt materials from within the place of worship as evidence.

#2  Hunter will still win

It seems as though Hunter has some problems. It's very disappointing. But voting for a Democrat is not the answer.

What bothers me the most about all this is that it's coming out now, just before the general election, instead of last spring before the primary when Republicans might have nominated somebody else. It doesn't smell right.

But I still think, as bad as he might be, he can't be as bad as a Democrat.

Russian prosecutors brand US group Pacific Environment ‘undesirable organization’
[RT] The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has included US NGO Pacific Environment (PERC) on a list of undesirable foreign organizations after determining the group’s work can threaten Russia’s security and constitutional order.

"After studying some materials it had received the Prosecutor General’s Office on August 24 decided to recognize as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation, the work of foreign non-government organization Pacific Environment (PERC) from the USA," chief front man for the agency, Aleksandr Kurennoy, was quoted as saying by TASS on Friday.

"It has been established that the work of this organization creates a threat to the foundations of Russia’s constitutional order and the security of the Russian state," the official added. The order to put the group on the list of undesirable organizations will now be forwarded to the Justice Ministry where it needs to be registered to come into force.

Founded in 1987, the Pacific Environment group states its primary objective as protecting the living environment of the Pacific Rim. In Russia, its activists have instigated public opposition to several major mining and energy projects in Siberia and the Far East.

Mexico's Lopez Obrador says military to keep crime-fighting role
[Al Jazeera] Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Mexico's president-elect, says he will not order the military off the country's streets but continue using them in the efforts to stamp out organised crime.

Mexico deployed its armed forces to fight drug trafficking in 2006.

Since then, the military has enjoyed some successes but the overall crime rate has not been improved. Soldiers have also been embroiled in several rights scandals, including the extrajudicial killings of gang members.

"Without the aid of the army and the navy, we would not be able to solve the security problem," Lopez Obrador said on Friday, outlining his plan for when he assumes office in December.

"We are not in a position to pull out the armed forces, because that would leave the populace unprotected."

In the lead-up to the election, Lopez Obrador had proposed to rewrite the rules of the drug war, suggesting negotiated peace and amnesties for some of those who are currently being targeted by members of the security forces.

"The failed strategy of combating insecurity and violence will change," Lopez Obrador said in his victory speech on July 1.

Iraq
Two Iraqi soldiers wounded in bomb blast, northeast of Diyala
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Two soldiers were maimed in a kaboom, northeast of Diyala, a security source from the province said on Thursday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today website, the source said, "explosive experts from the army found a bomb near al-Islah village, at the boundaries of Jalawla town, northeast of Baquba. While detonating it, another bomb went off, leaving two soldiers maimed."

The army, according to the source, combed the region fearing presence of other blasts.

Security reports indicate that the turban group still poses threat against stability in the country. The group still has dormant cells, through which it carries out attacks, across Iraq like it used to do before 2014.

Anbar antics: commander kaboomed, 5 turbans cross their wires, US troops reinforced, 3Iraqi troops kaboomed

Iraqi commander killed, 2 bodyguards injured in bomb blast, west of Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A commander from Anbar police was killed, while two others of his bodyguards were wounded in west of the province, a security source was quoted saying on Thursday.

In remarks to BasNews, the source from Anbar police said, “a bomb, placed on the side of the international highway at the Kilo 120 region, west of Anbar, went off as Col. Akram al-Fahdawi, commander of the external roads protection division, was passing in a patrol, leaving him killed and two of his bodyguards seriously injured.”

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said, “troops headed to the accident spot and combed the region, fearing other bombs that could target security personnel.”

Five Islamic State members killed while booby-trapping road, west of Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Five Islamic State members were killed while trying to booby- trap a main road, west of Anbar, a commander from the mobilization troops in the province said on Thursday.

‘Security troops managed to kill five Islamic State members, as they were booby-trapping the road which links Wadi al-Qathf to the kilo 160 region in Rutba town, west of Anbar,” Col. Fadel al-Eissawy, a commander of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) of Ameriyat al-Somoud region, told Almaalomah website.

“The troops noticed the militants and began firing, which left them killed, without casualties among the attacking fighters,” the source said, adding that troops took strict security measures.

Last week, five Islamic State members, including an Uzbekistani leader, were killed in an operation against an Islamic State pocket in the desert of Qaim town.

U.S. troops reinforce deployment without clear reasons in Anbar: Source

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A security source from Anbar province has indicated growing deployment of U.S. troops in the western regions of the province without clear reasons.

Speaking to Almaalomah website, the source said, “U.S. troops enhanced its presence in regions of Suddet Haditha, Fousfat al-Qaim, Ain al-Assad airbase and near the border regions with Syria in west of Anbar.”

Those regions, according to the source, “witnessed ongoing increase of troops, unlike the situation before, as preliminary estimates show that more than 11,000 soldiers and advisers deployed there and moving freely.”

The number of personnel is growing, “despite end of military operations and declaring victory against Islamic State,” the source said, adding that the reasons behind this are not clear.

A security expert was quoted, last week, as saying that Washington seeks increasing the number of military bases from nine to 12 bases. This came after the U.S.-led Coalition said U.S. forces will remain in Iraq, so long as there is a need for that, which is contrary to the U.S. promises to withdraw from Iraq after Islamic State was defeated.

Last month, a senior Iraqi army officer said Iraq started expanding Ain al-Assad airbase in Anbar province and that the expansion is likely to receive more U.S. troops.

Arab pilgrim commits suicide at Grand Mosque in Makkah
[ARABNEWS] :

An Arab national did away with himself by throwing himself off the roof of the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday morning, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

"Two other pilgrims who were maimed in the incident are in a stable condition in hospital," said Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Mansouri, front man for the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques.

Security authorities are investigating the incident, he added.

It is not the first such incident. In June, a Frenchie did away with himself at the Grand Mosque.

And last year, a Saudi tried to set himself on fire in front of the Kaaba ‐ the square stone building at the center of the mosque compound ‐ but was stopped by security forces.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
US cuts aid to Palestinians by more than $200 million
[ARABNEWS] The Trump administration has decided to cut more than $200 million in bilateral aid to the Paleostinians, following a review of the funding for projects in the West Bank and Gazoo, the State Department said Friday.

The department notified Congress of the decision in a brief, three-paragraph notice sent first to politicians and then to news hounds. It said the administration will redirect the money to "high priority projects elsewhere."

The move comes as President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and his Middle East pointmen, Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt, staff up their office to prepare for the rollout of a much-vaunted but as yet unclear peace plan for Israel and the Paleostinians.

"At the direction of President Trump, we have undertaken a review of US assistance to the Paleostinian Authority and in the West Bank and Gazoo to ensure these funds are spent in accordance with US national interests and provide value to the US taxpayer," the department said. "As a result of that review, at the direction of the president, we will redirect more than $200 million ... originally planned for programs in the West Bank and Gazoo."

"This decision takes into account the challenges the international community faces in providing assistance in Gazoo, where Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, control endangers the lives of Gazoo’s citizens and degrades an already dire humanitarian and economic situation," the notice said, without providing additional details.
