Summer holidays' kite and balloon fun
An IDF aircraft on Thursday struck a Hamas terror cell in the southern Gaza Strip that was responsible for launching incendiary kites and balloons into Israel, the IDF spokesperson confirmed.

Palestinian reports stated that an aircraft attacked balloon perpetrators east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Hamas-run Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that one Hamas officer was killed and three individuals were wounded in the strike. According to Palestinian sources, the officer killed was Abdel Karim Radwan, 38.

Personally, I would disagree. But then, I'm the sort of person who can separate pleasant hobbies like playing with kites and balloons from Jew-killing.

Maybe instead of our ineffective State Dept, we should let Hasbro and Mattel have a go at the peace processor.

Caroline Glick: Trump Was the Big Winner at Helsinki Summit
h/t Gates of Vienna
Trump met with Putin because as president, he is required to meet with the leader of Russia just as every U.S. president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt had to meet with his counterpart at the Kremlin.

U.S. national security and indeed, international security are dependent on the leaders of the two powerful nations developing cooperative relations. The ability of U.S. and Russian leaders to work together plays a key role in preventing another world war. It would have been a dereliction of duty if Trump had not met with Putin.

This brings us to the substance of the meeting, which was exceedingly positive and constructive.

...In his opening remarks, Putin put an official end to the debate over his intentions. "The Cold War is a thing of the past," he declared.

"The era of acute ideological confrontation of the two countries is a thing of the remote past ‐ it’s a vestige of the past."

If Putin’s statement of his intentions and his outlook were the only thing to have come out of the summit, it would have more than justified the meeting. But that was only the beginning.

Two critical issues, Iran’s presence in Syria and North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, were the subject of a significant amount of attention from Trump and Putin during the press conference. Their remarks on both subjects made clear just how critical the meeting was for U.S. national security interests and for global stability in the short and long-term.

...In their remarks, both Putin and Trump said that they are committed to Israel’s security. Putin said that he accepts Israel’s position that the 1974 disengagement of forces agreement between Israel and Syria must be implemented. The agreement bars Syrian military forces from deploying to the border with Israel and limits their deployment in the area adjacent to it. Trump stated outright that the U.S. supports Israel’s efforts to prevent Iran from entrenching its forces in Syria.

...The second reason that the Trump-Putin meeting was significant in the Iranian context is that it called into question the long-term viability of the Russian-Iranian partnership.

...So if Putin indicated a willingness to cut a deal with the U.S. and Israel in Syria, then the implication is that he is willing to attenuate Russian-Iranian ties in favor of Russian-American and Russian-Israeli ties. The minimal price for those ties is Israeli-U.S. acceptance of the survival of Assad’s regime in Syria. Netanyahu indicated last week that he is willing to accept Putin’s position.

...To understand just how significant Trump’s achievements in relation to Russia’s relations with Iran and its position in Syria are, it is important to notice where the U.S. stood in relation to both issues when Trump entered office.

...Obama joined with Russia in enabling Iran to become a nuclear-armed state by concluding the nuclear deal with Iran in July 2015. The fact that Trump was able to convince Putin to support Israel’s efforts against Iran in Syria after abandoning the nuclear deal in May, despite Putin’s continued support for the nuclear deal, was a major achievement.

The second area where Trump achieved a major breakthrough in Helsinki is North Korea. It is far from clear that Trump’s effort to cut a deal with North Korea can survive Pyongyang’s latest anti-American diatribes and the evidence of its continued nuclear operations. But what is clear is that none of North Korea’s efforts could continue without Chinese support. Nuclear armed North Korea is China’s most powerful ‐ and dangerous ‐ proxy.

During the previous three administrations, Russia has consistently partnered with China in relation to U.S. multiparty talks regarding North Korea’s nuclear program. But during the Helsinki summit, Putin expressed strong support for America’s goal of denuclearizing North Korea.

...This, then brings, us to the hysterical condemnations that Trump has been inundated with since Monday by the U.S. media, by former senior Obama administration national security officials, and by Democrats.

The very notion that a U.S. president commits treason by seeking a cooperative relationship with the head of Russia is absurd. Given the stakes of the two leaders’ relationship, it is also dangerous.

Statements accusing Trump of treason and calling for the military to overthrow him are terrifying. They demonstrate that Trump’s opponents are so obsessed with delegitimizing his presidency, and presumably with impeaching him that they are willing to risk a world war to achieve their domestic political goals.

When we consider the hysteria of Trump’s critics on the one hand, and Trump’s extraordinary accomplishments in Helsinki on the other, we need to be thankful that Trump was willing as he said, "to take a political risk in pursuit of peace," rather than "risk peace in pursuit of politics." The U.S. and the world benefited greatly from his courage.

Lieberman Tells N.Y. Dems to Vote Crowley
h/t Instapundit
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Twitter complaints didn’t do any good. Even though she scored an upset victory over Rep. Joe Crowley in the New York Democratic Party’s June primary, his name is still going to be on the 14th Congressional District’s November ballot.

Ocasio-Cortez demanded Crowley answer her phone calls so she could hear his congratulations and concession, and move on to win the November general election in NY-14. But she won the primary, right? Maybe she’s just being paranoid?

Maybe not.

Joe Lieberman wants NY-14 Democrats to "Vote Joe Crowley, for Working Families."
IMO, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, for as long as she'll last, is an important source of merriment.

Sarah Hoyt: The Left Just Wants to Be the Cool Kids
h/t Instapundit
The left just wants to sit at the cool kids table. They'll sacrifice everything for it: honor, principles, even self-respect.

Everyone says we're divided as a country, but I don't think anyone fully realizes how much

The problem is that to heal the division, we not only would need to be able to speak the same language ‐ doable ‐ or work together towards common goals ‐ common goals are debatable, but we might be able to identify some ‐ but ‐ and this is more difficult ‐ we would need to have the same interests in life.

Okay, let me explain. I don’t mean that we have an interest in freedom and the left has an interest in slavery.

Sure, you could say that and not be far wrong, but it’s not just that.

As humans, we come from great apes (trust me, those were the best Apes! Very great apes!) Great apes are social animals. It is normal for social animals to want to fit into the group at all costs.

Yesterday, my friend Tom Knighton wrote a post for my blog in which he explained that the left doesn’t care if it makes things up. This is true. In fact, their deceptions reach the childish level, and I’ll have more to say about that in another article. Anyway, as part of his post, there was this sentence:

After all, the American left has made it pretty damn clear that they don’t really care about the lives of people who disagree with them ideologically. They’ve taken to stalking and harassment in public spaces to try and shame conservative leadership into...who the hell knows? I guess they think they can turn the right into leftists with enough shame or something. That’s not how it works, mind you, but that’s what they apparently think.

When I heard this, something clicked. It makes no sense to us, of course. But here’s something I noticed, stalking, and harassment in public spaces (and private) do work on the left.

Haven’t we seen this played out many times in the circles of the left? It can be seen three times a week on Twitter. They decide one of their circle has stepped too far out the accepted "beliefs" and descend with the shame games. Soon enough, the creature being accused ‐ often of outrageous falsehoods, because once the victim is identified they pile on ‐ crawls back and promises to be a good boy or girl or whatever, and never again departs from the "revealed truth™".

I mean, I know this is true in our midst. Time and again, we’ve seen a leftist author accused of "bad thought" or of not being sufficiently woke. Sometimes the victim puts up a token resistance, but soon enough he or she folds and begs forgiveness and promises to be good. Soon enough he or she is defending those who attacked them.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran Nuclear Chief Says Uranium Stockpile Reaches 950 Tons
[AnNahar] The chief of Iran's nuclear agency says the country's effort to acquire uranium has resulted in a stockpile of as much as 950 tons.

Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, tells state TV on Wednesday that Iran has imported some 400 tons of the stuff since the 2015 landmark nuclear deal with Western powers, bringing its stockpile to between 900 and 950 tons ‐ up from 500 tons.

Salehi says that's enough for Iran to run its longtime goal of 190,000 centrifuge machines for enriching uranium in the future.

The nuclear accord limits Iran's uranium enrichment to 3.67 percent, enough to use in a nuclear power plant but far lower than the 90 percent needed for an atomic weapon.

However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
since the U.S. pulled out of the deal in May, Iran has vowed to boost enrichment capacity to put pressure on the remaining signatories to live up to the agreement.

Britain has identified Russians suspected of Skripal nerve attack: PA
LONDON (Reuters) - British police have identified several Russians who they believe were behind the nerve agent attack on former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, the Press Association reported on Thursday, citing a source close to the investigation.

Skripal, a former colonel in Russian military intelligence who betrayed dozens of agents to Britain’s MI6 foreign spy service, and his daughter Yulia, were found unconscious on a public bench in the British city of Salisbury on March 4.

Britain blamed Russia for the poisonings and identified the poison as Novichok, a deadly group of nerve agents developed by the Soviet military in the 1970s and 1980s. Russia has repeatedly denied any involvement in the attack.

After analyzing closed-circuit television, police think several Russians were involved in the attack on the Skripals, who spent weeks in hospital before being spirited to a secret location, Press Association reported.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Jewish nation-state bill passes into law
[Jpost] The controversial Jewish nation-state bill became Israel's 14th Basic Law early Thursday morning after it passed into law in the Knesset plenum by a vote of 62 in favor, 55 against, and two abstentions.

The law passed after a stormy debate full of theatrics that stretched more than eight hours.

Applauding the vote, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the law as "a defining moment in the history of Zionism and the history of the State of Israel.

"122 years after Herzl published his vision, we have stated by law the basic principle of our existence," Netanyahu said from the Knesset podium.

The head of the special committee that legislated the bill, MK Amir Ohana (Likud), told the plenum it could be the most important legislation in the history of the state. He said the bill had been discussed more than any of the basic laws that have been passed before.

The law's sponsor, Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Avi Dichter, turned to Arab MKs in the final address before voting and told them: "We were here before you, and we will be here after you." But he said their rights as minorities would not be harmed by the law.

Joint List MKs condemned the legislation. Party leader Ayman Odeh waved a black flag on the Knesset podium and his faction colleague, MK Jamal Zahalka, ripped up the bill.

"We are now seeing with shock the death of our democracy, which has been dying in recent years, and suffering from the racism that has hit a new peak with this bill," Joint List MK Ahmed Tibi said earlier in a meeting of Ohana's committee that legislated the bill and approved it by an 8 to 7 vote Wednesday morning along coalition and opposition lines.

The Jewish nation-state bill is a Basic Law with constitutional heft that declares Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people. It anchors in law the state’s menorah emblem, Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, national holidays and the right of all Israeli residents to preserve their heritage without consideration of religion and nationality.

The two most controversial clauses in the bill were changed.

The Diaspora clause says, "The state will act in the Diaspora to maintain the connection between the state and the Jewish people." The original version said that the connection would be maintained among "the Jewish people, wherever they are."

A clause that could have permitted one religious group to bar another from living in their community was replaced with one saying that "The state sees developing Jewish settlement as a national interest and will take steps to encourage, advance, and implement this interest."

[Right Scoop] Colonial imperialist Barack Obama was invited to Africa, and he promptly told them that their standards need to mirror that of the white European devils that enslaved them.

From the Hill:

Former President Obama on Wednesday called for women to get more involved in social movements because men have been "getting on my nerves."
"Women, in particular, by the way, I want you to get more involved," Obama said while hosting a town hall for young African leaders in South Africa. "Because men have been getting on my nerves lately. I mean, every day, I read the newspaper and I just think like, brothers what’s wrong with you guys? What’s wrong with us?"

Obama added that "empowering more women on the continent" would "lead to some better policies" right away.

Yes, I know some might object that a few non-Western nations have had a history of women leading nations, but these are few and far between. It’s the West that has largely led the way towards freedom and equality for women.

Of course I don’t have a problem with Obama trying to influence African countries to accept greater equality for women, but the way he does it just shows what an imperial pain in the ass he is.

So people should vote for women just because he’s annoyed? Eff right the hell off, buddy.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
If Not Russia, Who Is Hillary's 'Foreign Entity'?
[American Thinker] I've long said Hillary Clinton is insufficiently stupid to have believed she could operate an unsecured home server without compromising the security of any data transmitted through it or stored on it.

For just as long, it has been my contention that the server was the faucet through which she pumped information she was selling (yes, selling) to foreign entities, both public and private.

I.T. security protocols would've easily flagged attempts at intrusion if targeted toward the State Department's secure servers, through which then-secretary of state Clinton ought to have conducted business. Likewise, the transfer or copying of said information from a secure server is a detectable act with access being tightly controlled and records kept of who looked at what and when.

"Convenience," the excuse proffered by Clinton for not following even the most basic of security procedures, is, in a way, a rare instance of Clinton telling the truth, just not in the way she would have us believe.

She claims that it was more convenient to utilize a home server, using linked devices to conduct business. More truthfully, it was more convenient to offload state secrets absent the prying eyes of government I.T. security staff.

In his now infamous "exoneration presser," fired FBI director James Comey admitted that Clinton's server was "likely compromised" by foreign actors, but he also claimed there was "no evidence" of such an intrusion. During disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok's recent testimony, we discovered that this assertion was just another in a long line of brazen falsehoods tumbling out of Comey's mouth.

To drink a shot of liquor every time Comey says something that might be true might prove an entertaining parlor game for teetotalers. Beyond stating his name, there's precious little else he might say that is not suspect.

With Awan and Platte River Network remote servers (accessible by whomever was provided passwords) littered with Clinton-POTUS clandestine communications and classified documents.

Having the first black President, a presidential candidate and potentially first female POTUS, deeply involved in an international espionage ring? There must be some way these connections can be prevented from seeing the light of day.

Why Comey and Company Want Democrats to Take Back the House
[PJ] Is anyone surprised that disgraced former FBI director James Comey has joined the ranks of other never-Trumpers like Max Boot, George Will and Steve Schmidt in urging Republicans to vote Democrat in the midterm elections?

These erstwhile Republicans are hoping their clarion call will cause a stampede of "reluctant Trumpers" to give Democrats the majority in Congress in order to maintain "the nation's honor," as George Will put it.

In Comey's case, he also has a vested interest in seeing the oversight committees switch from red to blue. The GOP-controlled House Oversight, Judiciary and Intelligence committees are still investigating SpyGate, and show no signs of stopping.

In fact, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) recently expanded his investigation, referring a total of 42 individuals to the Oversight & Government Reform and the Judiciary committees' joint task force. Nunes' list includes former officials from the DOJ, FBI, and State Department, as well as Obama/Clinton officials and non-governmental individuals connected to Fusion GPS.

House investigators are seeking to learn more about the Obama administration's improper actions toward the Trump campaign in 2016, but with the 2018 midterms quickly approaching, they could be running out of time.

The Justice Department inspector general, meanwhile, is also investigating Comey for leaking information to the media.

Pres. Trump: No Confidence in Intelligence Led by Brennan, Clapper, Comey
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump said that he respected the intelligence agencies but not the former prominent figures who made their careers into criticizing his presidency.

"It’s been terrible," Trump told CBS anchor Jeff Glor, citing the names of former CIA director John Brennan, former director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, Former Director of the National Security Agency Michael Hayden, former FBI director James Comey, as well as prominent FBI agents Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok.

The president responded to a question from Glor about whether or not he felt that former intelligence agents were "out to get him." Trump said that he had difficulty trusting their judgement, as they stood vehmently against him.

"Certainly I can’t have any confidence in the past," Trump said, citing the "all of the shenanigans that have gone on" in the intelligence community under former President Barack Obama.

"Very hard to have confidence in that group," he added.

Trump said Brennan was "a total low-life" and that said that even though Clapper wrote him a "beautiful" letter when he first got into the presidency, he turned against him.

"All of a sudden, he’s gone haywire because they got to him and they probably, got him to say things that maybe he doesn’t even mean," he said.

Trump said that he was confident in the present intelligence led by his own appointees such as Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

"I can have a lot of confidence in the present and the future, because it’s getting to be now where we’re putting our people in," he said.

The same agency is knee deep in the fabricated Russian dossier. They collaborated with the FBI in attacking every key player on Trump's staff. The past head called trump a traitor, their hate is in open forum. This agency has an ethics issue at the top. The FBI is even worse. Explain to me where Trump is wrong? The leadership is attacking, lying, and misrepresenting their agency to the president, whom they swore to serve. They all need to be banished, and the agencies need to clean up their political agendas.

Non-citizens legally register to vote in San Francisco school elections
San Francisco began registering non-citizens, including undocumented immigrants, to register to vote Monday in the November election for the city school board, reported The San Francisco Chronicle.

The move follows passage of a 2016 ballot measure by San Francisco voters opening school elections to non-citizens who are over the age of 18, city residents and have children under age 19, reported the publication.

"This is no-brainer legislation," Hillary Ronen, a San Francisco supervisor, told the Chronicle. "Why would we not want our parents invested in the education of their children?"

"We want to give immigrants the right to vote," Norman Yee, also a county supervisor, told KGO.But Harmeet Dhillon, who serves on the Republican National Committee, told the station she disagrees with those assessments.

"The reason I voted against it is that I think the right to vote is something that goes along with citizenship and should be," Dhillon told KGO.

San Francisco became the first city in California to allow non-citizens to vote in local elections following passage of Measure N with 54 percent of the vote after two previous failed tries, reported KTVU.

There are concerns that the non-citizen voter registration rolls, which will be open, could be used to target people who entered the U.S. illegally, reported The San Francisco Examiner.

"Our immigrants, are they vulnerable? Absolutely," Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer told the publication. "But in San Francisco we stand strong together."

President Donald Trump and California leaders have clashed repeatedly since the 2016 election over immigration enforcement, sanctuary cities and voter fraud allegations.

Community organizations, such as the Mission Economic Development Agency, plan to meet with non-citizens to inform them of the possible risks, the Examiner reported.

Chicago and some Maryland cities also allow non-citizen residents to vote in school board elections, reported KPIX.

Several cities in Massachusetts, including Cambridge, Amherst, Brookline and others, have at various times voted to allow non-citizens to vote in local elections, but those moves require legislation from state lawmakers to take effect, reported The Boston Globe.

The San Francisco measure allowing non-citizen voting expires in 2022 unless renewed by the board of supervisors, according to the Examiner.

The deadline to register to vote in San Francisco is Oct. 22 for the Nov. 6 election, according to the California Secretary of State's Office.

Iran to overhaul, manufacture up to 800 tanks: Defense Ministry
[PRESSTV] Iran’s Defense Ministry says it plans to overhaul and manufacture up to 800 tanks as part of the country’s plans to boost its defense power.

The Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) will receive between 700 to 800 domestically-built tanks, including Karrar (Striker), Deputy Defense Minister Reza Mozaffari-Nia said, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

He said that Iran manufactures 50 to 60 tanks every year as demanded by the army and the IRGC.

Iran unveiled Karrar, its most advanced domestically-manufactured tank of amphibious mobility, in March 2017.

The then defense minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, said Karrar was among the most advanced tanks in the world because of its remarkable features.

Its firepower, precision and mobility, Dehqan said, were comparable to the most state-of-the-art of its kind in the world.

Among the tank’s features, Dehqan enumerated its electro-optical fire control system, laser-aided distance measurement capability, and the capability to strike either mobile or fixed targets in both nighttime and daytime.

Iran has over the past years made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and hardware.

The Islamic Theocratic Republic says its military power poses no threat to other countries and is merely based on the doctrine of deterrence.

Palestine Freedom Flotilla arrives in Palermo, Sicily
[PRESSTV] Activists from around the world have gathered in the Italian city of Palermo and are engaged in the final stages of preparations for this year's Paleostine Freedom Flotilla campaign, Press TV reports.

Participants engage in the freedom campaign in a gesture of solidarity designed to boost the morale of Paleostinians while highlighting to the world the dire situation in the besieged Gazoo Strip.

All four Freedom Flotilla boats arrived in Palermo on Monday. The al-Awda (Return), Freedom, Mairead and Paleostine boats are reunited after traveling more than two months sailing from Scandinavia to Sicily. They have traveled over 4,000 nautical miles and visited over 15 European ports. They will set sail for Gazoo on Thursday.

"We are just showing the Paleostinians that there are people that really care. Believe it or not, some people say we are taking our lives in our hands to go to help them, to bring some solace to them; to let them know that there are people out there that actually care about them," said Joe Meadors, a former UN navy technician and flotilla participant.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his other leg......
local activists and organizers of a pro-refugee protest have joined forces with pro-Paleostinian activists in a unified show of support aimed at emphasizing the need for further initiatives as demonstrated by the freedom flotilla.

China-Japan-Koreas
China says US dragging entire global economy into place of danger
[PRESSTV] China has once again censured the United States for its trade policies, saying Washington would be to blame for a chaotic global economy if it sticks with its "willful" decisions on trade.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Wednesday that the US was killing confidence in global economy by slapping tariffs on imports from allies and rivals.

"The US trade war is not just with China but with the rest of the world. By regarding the rest of the world as adversaries, the US has dragged the entire global economy into a place of danger," Hua said, adding that the US-driven trade war was the biggest "confidence killer" for global economy.

China and the US have imposed tariffs worth $34 billion on each other’s imports. US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, who initiated trade disputes by announcing controversial tariffs on the import of metals in March, has threatened that he would introduce further duties on Chinese imports if Beijing continues with its retaliatory measures.

Hua, however, repeated previous statements that China was fully ready to respond to any new US tariff, saying if Washington continued to be "willful," China and other countries affected by the trade policy would not hesitate to react.

"If the US continues to be willful, countries around the world will only harden their resolve to hit back," said the Chinese official.

Hungary says will quit UN migration pact before final approval
[PRESSTV] Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto says the European country will quit the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
migration pact before its final approval.

Szijjarto said on Wednesday that the accord posed a "threat to the world."

"This document is entirely against Hungary's security interests," Szijjarto told a news conference in the capital Budapest.

The top diplomat went on to say that Hungary would not take part at an upcoming meeting in Morocco.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Szijjarto said the country would also oppose the pact should it come up for a vote in the UN General Assembly.

The 193-member Assembly adopted a political declaration in 2016, in which they agreed to spend two years negotiating the pact on safe, orderly and regular migration. The accord is to be formally adopted in December.

Britain detains two for neo-Nazi membership
[PRESSTV] Two Britons were tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
on Wednesday after being convicted of belonging to a banned white supremacist group following a trial in which another defendant had earlier pleaded guilty to plotting to kill an elected MP.

Christopher Lythgoe, 32, and Matthew Hankinson, 24, were found guilty at London’s Old Bailey Court of being members of National Action, a neo-Nazi organization that claimed a race war was imminent.

The organization was banned in 2016 after it praised the murder of Jo Cox, a female Labour MP, in a frenzied street attack by a Nazi-obsessed loner, the first far-right group to be outlawed in Britannia since World War Two.

At the start of the trial, defendant Jack Renshaw, 23, admitted buying a machete for the purpose of killing another Labour MP, Rosie Cooper, as well as making a threat to kill a female police officer.

Prosecutors said the aim of National Action, which was formed in 2013, was to start a race war. The group had said it wanted to free white Britannia from Jewish control and the spread of ethnic minorities.

Lythgoe was its self-appointed leader and the court heard he continued to keep it active after its ban, using a makeshift gym where members could train for race war. He was tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
for eight years while Hankinson was given a six-year prison term.

Iran builds new rotor factory for centrifuges
[PRESSTV] Iran’s nuclear chief says the country has completed the construction of an advanced factory specializing in the manufacturing of centrifuge rotors in order to enhance its uranium enrichment capacity without violating the limits set by the 2015 nuclear deal.

Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), told the IRIB on Wednesday that the project became operational in line with a recent decree by Fearless Leader of the Islamic Revolution
...Iran's doddering head theocrat...
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
...the successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and the actual dictator of Iran...
to reach 190,000 SWUs (separative work unit) of uranium enrichment capacity.

Salehi said instead of completing the project over the next seven or eight years, the country had been building the facility in the course of the negotiations that led to the 2015 nuclear agreement with world countries.

Knesset revokes Israel PM’s power to declare war alone
[PRESSTV] The Israeli parliament (Knesset) strikes down a law passed earlier this year, which would enable the regime’s prime minister and minister of military affairs to declare war on their own.

The politicians on Tuesday rescinded the law, which had cleared the Knesset in late April, with 77 votes to 16.

The legal amendment would allow the duo to forgo a full-cabinet approval before ordering war or a major military operation that could lead to war.

It would enable them to take such decisions in "extreme circumstances," without specifying those situations.

Israel’s parliament approves a controversial law that allows the prime minister to declare war by consulting only his minister of military affairs.
The clause, which has replaced it, now says that such a decision has to be made "by as wide a panel as possible."

Lawmaker Ofer Shelah of the Yesh Atid party hailed Tuesday’s vote, saying that it was "inconceivable that a decision to go to war could be in the hands of one person, without consultation with cabinet members."

The Israeli regime has a long history of waging wars and occupying sovereign states.

The regime, under hawkish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has escalated its attacks against the Gazoo Strip to a scale unprecedented since its last war against the Tel Aviv-blockaded Paleostinian territory in 2014.

Tel Aviv has also been conducting sporadic aerial assaults against Syria in what is widely viewed as an attempt to support the terror groups operating against the Damascus government.

Israel has, meanwhile, been threatening Leb with a new military offensive in recent months.

Iranian general criticizes Rouhani’s threat of closing Strait of Hormuz
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iranian former IRGC naval commander Maj. Gen. Hossein Alaei criticizes threats issued by Iran President Hassan Rouhani and a number of military officials to close the Strait of Hormuz if new oil sanctions are imposed against Tehran.

In an interview with Iranian news agency IRNA, Alaei considered such kind of statements as "not well thought out," adding that "Iran is unable to close the Strait of Hormuz, but America is capable to reopen it."

Alaei ‐ who currently heads Iran’s Aseman Airlines which is on the US sanctions’ list for supporting terror and for its role in shipping weapons to pro-Iranian militias in Syria and other Middle Eastern countries ‐ is considered one of the most prominent military personalities close to the reformist bloc in the Iranian political system.

Political analysts considered Alaei’s comments to be skeptical about Iran’s capability to close the Strait of Hormuz which is a strategic artery linking Middle East crude producers to key markets in Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and beyond.

Recently and during his European trip, the Iranian president threatened on Tuesday during his to block oil shipments from neighboring countries, by closing the Strait of Hormuz.

While the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Qasem Soleimani, praised Rouhani’s statements on the threat of regional oil exports if sanctions were imposed on Iran’s oil exports.

Later on the US Navy issued a statement saying that it stands ready to ensure freedom of navigation and free flow of commerce.

Proving itself to Iran, Hamas is deliberately playing with fire
[Ynet] Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, reached a dead-end after Israel closed the Kerem Shalom border crossing. But the organization launched 200 rockets and bombs to impress Iran. An organization that wants a ceasefire, as Israel claims, does not do that. Nor does it send incendiary kites and balloons into Israeli communities.

Last Tuesday, as a punitive measure against incendiary balloons and kites terrorism, Israel announced that the Kerem Shalom border crossing is closing its doors.

Only humanitarian goods will be allowed into the Gazoo Strip. In fact, Israel only allows the entry of fuel, food, fruit, flour, and other necessities to Gazoo, and bans entry of electrical appliances, electronic equipment and construction supplies intended for international real estate developments in the strip.

Rep. Steve Cohen Melts Down, Defends Tweet Calling for Military Coup
[BREITBART] Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) this week repeatedly defended his tweet that implied that America needed to have a military coup to remove President Donald Trump

Addressing media representatives outside the Karachi Press Club, Nasir claimed that some "extremist elements" wanted to hijack his campaign by inciting hatred among people "because they are scared of a candidate who wanted to highlight the actual problems and issues being faced by the public".

Obama: Abolish the Nation-State!
[Breitbart] Former President Barack Obama told an African audience that voters’ preferences for their own nation are no excuse for keeping nation-states and that all governments should welcome migrants who are "striving for a better life."

Obama hid his radical globalist call for ending the 200-year old dominance of nation-states under his signature style of passive-aggressive rhetoric, saying:
In the West’s current debate around immigration, for example, it’s not wrong to insist that national borders matter; whether you’re a citizen or not is going to matter to a government, that laws need to be followed; that in the public realm newcomers should make an effort to adapt to the language and customs of their new home. Those are legitimate things and we have to be able to engage people who do feel as if things are not orderly.
But those public priorities "can’t be an excuse for immigration policies based on race, or ethnicity, or religion," he said a July 17 speech in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Experts reflect after testifying at US Congress hearing on Muslim Brotherhood
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Experts who recently testified at a US Congressional hearing looking into the Moslem Brüderbund have lauded Republican efforts into reviving a bill designating the group as a terrorist organization but said that much more needs to be done.

Last week, several experts testified before the House Oversight National Security Subcommittee hearing on whether the US should designate the Moslem Brüderbund ‐ or at least some of its factions ‐ for its terrorist activities.

During his opening statement during the hearing, Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security of the House oversight committee, spoke on the origins of the Moslem Brüderbund and its founder Sayyid Qutb, whose books some observers note were used as manifestos by modern political Islamist regimes like Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.

Iraq
Activists from Anbar say could stage protests like southern provinces
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Activists from Anbar province have declared intentions to stage protests, similar to ones staged in the southern provinces, Russia Today reported on Wednesday.

Speaking to RT, the activists said protests could be staged next week, however, they indicated difficulties with this as Iraqi troops, along with the paramilitaries, were rallied.

The demands, according to the activists, will be related to services and the deteriorated situation of the Iraqi institutions, in addition to other demands related to the return of refugees, release of detainees and declaring whereabouts of people from the province, who forcibly disappeared.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi cabinet said it adopted several measures to enhance services and secure jobs for angry Iraqis who launched a week of protests over poor services and joblessness. The Joint Operations Command said over 200 security personnel were maimed during protests that have been staged in the southern provinces.

Mass protests were staged for almost a week, while hundreds of Iraqis stormed the airport, suspending the fights due to poor services offered by the government and corruption.

The demonstrations started in Basra province, but they later extended to other cities, including Amara, Nasiriya, Karbala and the Shiite holy city of Najaf. There were also protests in parts of the capital, Baghdad.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel and EU ink agreement on fighting organized crime, cybercrime, terrorism
[IsraelTimes] Amid crisis in bilateral relations, Europol inks first-ever agreement with the police force of a non-EU member state
A consequence, one imagines, of the many times in recent years that Israel has shared information with various European governments about particular jihadis in their midst.
Amid an ongoing crisis in bilateral ties, Israel on Wednesday signed an agreement with the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
’s law enforcement agency to strengthen cooperation in the joint fight against terrorism and organized crime.

The "working agreement" was signed by Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich and Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle in The Hague.

The signing marked Europol’s first-ever working agreement with a country that is not a member of the EU.

"The agreement will enable the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Israel National Police to advance its capabilities to deal in the best way possible with new threats in the field of organized crime, cybercrime exploited by international criminal and terrorist elements, fighting terrorism in its various forms, and crime that crosses borders in the field of social economies," Alsheich said, according to a blurb issued by Europol.

The agreement is meant to primarily expand cooperation "to combat cross-border criminal activity," according to the blurb. It allows for the exchange of "strategic information" and the joint planning of operational activities.

Once it enters into force, the agreement will boost bilateral efforts to tackle "priority crime areas" affecting both the EU and Israel, such as fraud, cybercrime, and terrorism, the statement went on.

The agreement marks a rare positive development in Israel-EU ties, which have been undergoing a serious crisis in recent weeks.

Earlier on Tuesday, Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan publicly sparred with the EU’s foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, accusing the union of supporting groups promoting boycotts to Israel and being affiliated with terrorist groups.

The state-run SPA news agency reported that two Saudi Arabian citizens and three nationals of Chad were executed on Tuesday after being sentenced to death for the abduction and murder of a Pak security guard. The quintet had purportedly sought to rob the warehouse the guard was watching over.

Another Saudi was beheaded for setting a man on fire and causing his death.

Moreover, a Lebanese national was executed for attempting to smuggle Captagon pills into the kingdom.

Captagon is a psychostimulant which is made of a combination of amphetamine and theophylline. It is highly addictive, and became illegal in most countries in 1986.

It also makes users feel energetic and happy, which is why it has been dubbed "chemical courage."

Yemeni forces fire drone, hit Aramco refinery in Saudi capital
[PRESSTV] Yemeni army, backed by fighters from allied Popular Committees, has attacked a refinery of the Saudi oil company Aramco in the capital Riyadh using a new drone unveiled on Wednesday, with the kingdom confirming a fire at the plant.

"Our drone air forces have targeted the refinery of Aramco company in Riyadh," read a Twitter posting on the account of Yemen’s al-Masirah television channel.

"The operation by the drone air force is a strong start in a new stage of deterring the aggression," the channel quoted Yemen's army front man Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman as saying in a tweet.

According to al-Masirah, the attack was the first to be conducted using a new long-range drone.

Aramco confirmed a fire at its refinery in Riyadh, saying fire control teams and the Saudi civil defense had contained a limited blaze that erupted in the early evening in its refinery in the capital.

New steel mill to offset Russian halt to Iran sales
[PRESSTV] Iran’s opening of a new steel mill in central Isfahan last month will offset a cut in sales of hot-rolled (HR) steel coils in the face of looming unilateral US sanctions, officials say.

Steel traders, cited by Rooters, said Tuesday that Russian steelmakers Severstal and MMK as well as ArcelorMittal Temirtau, a Kazakh unit of the world’s largest steelmaker, were cutting back their sales to Iran.

Alex Agoureev, an adviser to ArcelorMittal Temirtau, said the company will suspend the export of hot-rolled coils to Iran due to the re-imposition of US sanctions.

"Supplies to Iran will be temporarily suspended due to the sanctions. Once sanctions are lifted, the supplies will be resumed," he said.

Iran, however, was slashing imports even before US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s announcement to impose new sanctions on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

Imports of hot-rolled coils from Russia and Kazakhstan constitute a small fraction of Iran’s consumption. Last year, the country used up 5.6 million tonnes of HT coils, of which 0.8 million tonnes were imported.

Severstal and MMK shipped 410,000 tonnes and ArcelorMittal Temirtau another 240,000 tonnes of HR coils less than 2mm thick which were not produced in Iran at a time.

HR coil is used in the pipes and profiles segment, which is a large steel end-use sector in the country.

Puneet Paliwal, a senior analyst with market intelligence group specializing in metals CRU, said that the cut in imports should not have a big effect on Iran.

Last month, Iran launched commercial production of HR coils, steel sheet and ribbed sheet at Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) in Isfahan, with a capacity of 1.6 million tonnes.

[DAWN] Shahbaz Sharif

will be the next prime minister in the event the party wins the elections though the final decision will still be made with consensus in the party after election results are announced, former prime minister and PML-N candidate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Tuesday.

Talking to Dawn, the former premier ruled out a split in the party at the top level and said the leaders are agreed on acting on the Constitution in letter and spirit.

He claimed the case against Nawaz Sharif

When asked about Chaudhry Nisar, Mr Abbasi said the former interior minister was not given a party ticket because he had not applied for one. He said everyone in the party, including Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, had applied for tickets.

All conflicts should be discussed within the party and not in the media or public, like Chaudhry Nisar did, he said.In reply to a question about forming a coalition government after the election, he said that the coalition with the PPP in 2008 could not last a month, that the temperament of leaders matters for the successful functioning of a coalition government and that if it comes to it, the possibility will be discussed after the elections.

EU-Macedonia deal to deploy border guards to curb migration
[Al Jazeera] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
says it has struck a deal with Macedonia to allow border guards to be deployed if the non-EU Balkan state faces "sudden migratory challenges".

The announcement came on Wednesday as Dimitris Avramopoulos, the EU migration commissioner, and Macedonian Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski initialled the deal for sending guards from the bloc to landlocked Macedonia and conducting joint operations.

The deal will be signed formally at a later date once it clears legal hurdles and is endorsed by the European Parliament, said the Commission, the EU's executive arm.

Once the agreement enters into force, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency will be able to carry out operational activities and deploy teams in the regions of Macedonia that border the EU.

"This agreement will allow the European Border and Coast Guard Agency to fully exercise its potential, reacting swiftly to migratory challenges and protecting our common borders," Avramopoulos said in a statement.

Economy
Gold hits year low
[DAWN] Gold hit its lowest in a year on Tuesday as the dollar steadied and most other markets were subdued before Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell testifies to the US Congress. Powell will likely reiterate the Fed’s plan for gradual monetary policy tightening as he takes his upbeat view of the US economy to Capitol Hill later this session. Markets will focus on his views on recent trade tensions, however.

A strong dollar tends to weigh on gold by making the dollar-priced metal costlier for non-US investors. Spot gold was down 0.7 per cent at $1,231.89 an ounce at 1329 GMT, having hit its lowest since last July at $1,230.40.

The precious metal is down some 5pc for the year. US gold futures for August delivery were down 0.8pc at $1,231.80 an ounce.

Diyala bomb attack leaves Iraqi serviceman wounded: official

Diyala (Iraqinews.com) – An Iraqi soldier was wounded Wednesday after a bomb attack targeted a military patrol in Diyala province, a local official was quoted as saying.

“An explosive charge exploded while a military patrol was crossing a road on the outskirts of Jabara district, in northeastern Diyala, leaving a solider wounded,” Alghad Press website quoted Shukr Zankana, the head of Jabara’s provincial council, as saying.

“The security forces cordoned off the blast site and found three other explosive charges that were planned to target security forces,” he added.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Islamic State (IS) militant group, in most cases, is responsible for attacks targeting crowded areas, including markets, cafes and mosques across Iraq.

Two Islamic State members arrested in Diyala: Interior Ministry

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Interior Ministry has announced arresting two Islamic State members in Diyala province.

A statement by the Security Media Center said “the intelligence department and the counter-terrorism forces of the Interior Ministry managed to arrest two Islamic State members in two operations carried out in Diyala.”

One of them, according to the statement, “admitted to intentions of carrying out operations using bombs.”

Legal measures were taken against them, it added.

Terror Networks
What did documents, records left behind by ISIS in Raqqa reveal?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A few days separate the International Coalition in cooperation with the Syrian Democratic Forces from marking the fourth year of their fight against ISIS, which has been confined to three Syrian towns near the Iraqi borders.

The greatest battle involved dragging out ISIS’ "amirs" or princes and leaders and to defeat them in their stronghold of the Syrian city of Raqqa. The latter fell under ISIS rule in mid-2014 and had been taken as their operating, financing and planning headquarters from where several terrorist attacks targeting a number of Arab, Moslem and Western capitals were first hatched.

The operation to free the town of Raqqa, codenamed Operation Wrath of Euphrates, started in the summer of 2016 and proceeded until the liberation and restoration of the city in October 2017.

Maryam Rajavi, President of the NCRI in her address said: "A passionate generation thirsty for freedom has risen to take over the entire country and take back Iran from the occupiers. This is the Iranian nation’s fight. The regime’s overthrow is inevitable."

The Washington Times called it "a large, boisterous rally." Many former and present officials of countries from around the globe participated and delivered a collective message of support for Iranian people and their struggle for a better life.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan's spy agency scolded over forced disappearances
[PRESSTV] A Pak high court judge has chided the country's powerful spy agency and police over alleged forced abductions, accusing the security apparatus of breaking the law.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday publicly called on the military's top brass to rein in the country's powerful Inter-Services Intelligence
...the Pak military intelligence agency that controls the military -- heads of ISI typically get promoted into the Chief of Army Staff position. It serves as a general command center for favored turban groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, tries to influence the politix of neighboring countries, and carries out a (usually) low-level war against India in Kashmir...
(ISI) to protect both its reputation and that of the country.

He said the group was "involved in corrupt practices including providing aid in the commission of offences and receiving their share from crime money."

"I am constrained to observe that local police is in league with the mighty agencies who have disrupted the civic fiber of the country," Siddiqui said in a written order concerning a petition about the missing people. Siddiqui was commenting on a case involving a man who was allegedly kidnapped by security officials.

"From the mannerism, body language and complexion, he looks under immense fear and a lot of pressure of dire consequence, therefore his statement does not inspire confidence," the judge said.

Pakistain’s security establishment has been frequently accused of overseeing enforced disappearances to quell criticism from activists and media workers.

In recent years, a growing number of abductions have taken place brazenly in major cities such as Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

’ supervisory role in Hudaydah if the Saudi-led coalition ends its weeks-long aggression against the Red Sea port city.

In an interview with French daily Le Figaro published on Tuesday, Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi said he had informed Martin Griffiths, the UN special envoy for Yemen, about his readiness to place Hudaydah under the world body’s supervision.

"We told the UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, that we are not rejecting the role of supervision and logistics that the UN wants to hold in the port, but on the condition that the aggression against Hudaydah stops," he said.

Backed by Saudi-led Arclight airstrikes, Emirati forces and turbans loyal to Yemen’s former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, launched the Hudaydah offensive on June 13 despite international warnings that it would compound the impoverished nation’s humanitarian crisis.

The Saudi-led coalition claims that the Houthis are using Hudaydah for weapons delivery, an allegation rejected by the fighters.

The coalition of aggressors has, however, failed to make any major gains in Hudaydah in the face of stiff resistance from Houthi fighters and their allied forces.

On the diplomatic front, Griffiths has reportedly been pushing for a deal in which the Houthis place the Hudaydha port under the supervision of a UN-monitored committee.

The UAE, however, dismisses such an arrangement, under which Hudaydah would remain under the control of the Houthis and their allied forces, demanding their unconditional withdrawal.

"It is strange to demand that the Yemenis pull out of their city of Hudaydah for handing it over to the United Arab Emirates, which is committing an act of aggression against us. Such a demand violates international conventions," the Houthi chief said.

"It is as if the United Kingdom called on the French to abandon Gay Paree or another city and give it up to the British. It is not logical," he added.

He further censured La Belle France for "contributing to Arab-led aggression" in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
by selling weapons to the aggressors.

"In Yemen, La Belle France should support peace, not war," he added. "Many Western countries consider wars in the light of their economic interests, to the detriment of human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
."

Prosecutors have not charged the agent they identified as Maria Butina with espionage, but said she had been in contact with Russian intelligence operatives and kept contact information for several Russian agents.

During a preliminary hearing in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the lead prosecutor in the case showed a photo of Butina in a Washington restaurant meeting with someone whom they believe is a Russian intelligence agent.

The 29-year-old former American University graduate student wore an orange prison jumpsuit in court and showed no emotion as her lawyer entered a not-guilty plea. Butina’s next court appearance was scheduled for July 24.

According to military sources, the army was able to break two attacks by the militias: the first on the Aldrihami front tried to cut off the coastline linking the cities of Mukha and Hodeidah in the Nekheila area.

The second attack was aimed at the headquarters of the directorate of Tahita, but was thwarted after a battle that lasted more than 10 hours, using various weapons along with Apache helicopter fire by coalition forces.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the confrontations was concentrated in the areas of Suwaiq, and Bani Nahari and al-Mughars, and the army and the resistance managed to kill, injure and capture dozens of militia elements.

In the meantime, coalition aircraft targeted raids positions and gatherings of Houthi militias in the area 16 km east of the city of Hodeidah.

Measure to split California into three states removed from ballot by the state Supreme Court
[LATimes] The California Supreme Court decided unanimously Wednesday to remove from the November ballot a measure aimed at dividing California into three states.
Of course they did
The decision was a defeat for Tim Draper, a Silicon Valley venture capitalist considered an eccentric entrepreneur who spent $1.2 million on the measure.

Four years ago, the wealthy Atherton resident spent $5.2 million promoting a measure that would have split California into six states. It did not qualify for the ballot.

He reacted angrily to the court's action, calling it "corruption."

"Whether you agree or not with this initiative, this is not the way democracies are supposed to work," he said in an email. "This kind of corruption is what happens in Third World countries."

He said the state's "insiders" were "in cahoots."

In a brief order, the court said it acted "because significant questions have been raised regarding the proposition's validity and because we conclude that the potential harm in permitting the measure to remain on the ballot outweighs the potential harm in delaying the proposition to a future election."

The court, meeting in closed session, also agreed to rule eventually on the measure's constitutionality, a ruling that is likely to go against the initiative. The challenge was filed last week by the Planning and Conservation League, an environmental group.
An environmental group? Really? Why would they be against splitting the state, I wonder? Not enough opportunity for graft?

#1  Here's what I don't get - if one of the stated goals / results of this measure would be getting up to four more lefty Senators, then why would the presumably leftist cal. SC nix the measure?

Also - I'm not swayed by the little ditty by the court about the 'significant questions' being raised about 'validity' - what questions / validity, exactly?

Former CIA Russia expert and CNN aka 'Fake News' analyst 'feels sick,'
[The Hill] A former CIA expert on Russia said Wednesday that he feels "sick" after President Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and that he thinks "something is going on behind the scenes."

Steven Hall, the former head of Russian operations at the CIA in Moscow, made the comments in a tweet, in which he also shared an article from The Atlantic calling Trump’s relationship with Putin "The Crisis Facing America."

"From a counterintelligence perspective, something is going on behind the scenes," Hall tweeted. "Before Helsinki I was less sure; post Helsinki, I feel sick."

Hall, who is also a CNN analyst, expressed his concerns about the Trump-Putin summit beforehand.

Trump faced immediate backlash after his press conference with Putin from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, world leaders, the media and other prominent political figures.

During the conference, he refused to confront Putin over Russian interference in the 2016 election, and criticized the special counsel investigation. He also said that he didn’t see any reason why it "would have been" Russia who interfered in the election, comments that he later walked back, claiming he meant to say "wouldn’t."

Rand Paul: Brennan Was the Most Biased, Bigoted, Unhinged CIA Director
I couldn't agree more.
[Breitbart] Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s "Newsroom," Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reacted to comments from former CIA Director John Brennan, who called Trump’s performance at a press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin treasonous.

Paul said, "You know John Brennan started out his adulthood by voting for the Communist Party presidential candidate. He is now ending his career by showing himself to be the most biased, bigoted, over-the-top, hyperbolic, sort of unhinged director of the CIA we have ever had. It really is an insult to everything about our government to have a former head of the CIA calling the President treasonous just because he doesn’t like him."

He added, "I filibustered Brennan. I tried to keep Brennan from ever being the leader of the CIA. But realize that Brennan and Clapper are known for wanting to expand the authority of the intelligence agencies to grab up everyone’s information, including Americans. So I don’t have a lot of respect for these people. Even before they decided to go on hating the President, I disliked these people because they wanted to grab up so much power and use it against the American people."

Arabia
The BBC exposes Qatar
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] What’s new about the latest BBC report about Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
’s conscious and planned funding of an exquisite formation of terror groups, both Sunni and Shiite, in Iraq and Syria is that it’s issued by the BBC itself. There are also a few additional interesting details.

A total of $1 billion is the amount that the Qatari negotiator paid upon direct orders from Doha. The Qatari blessings were bestowed on a bunch of criminals from the sectarian Popular Mobilization that supports Khomeini’s Iran as part of a deal to release 28 Qataris, including members of the ruling family, who were kidnapped in Iraq in 2015.

The British BBC’s report by Paul Wood included messages that he said he attained from governmental sources that confirm that Qatar received help from several parties in several countries to guarantee the release of the kidnapped.

Before that, the Washington Post ‐ this American daily, like the British BBC, is not accused of favoring Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
or the UAE! ‐published the details of the deal in April 2018. BBC’s report added that Qatar’s authorities knew the identity of the Death Eaters they were dealing with back then, unlike what they had alleged.

Proof of terrorism funding
One of the funny details noted in the report is that a Kataib Hezbollah negotiator named Abu Mohammed took the ambassador aside and asked for $10 million for himself. The Qatari ambassador responded with Ahnaf ibn Qais’s slyness and said: "To motivate him, I also told him that I am willing to buy him an apartment in Leb."

The Qatari generosity was not limited to the gangs of the general of Iranian terrorism Qassem Soleimani
as it was rather fair and non-sectarian! The leaked documents proved that Qatar played the mediator role between the Army of Conquest (a fundamentalist Sunni faction) and Iran to implement the "four-town" agreement in Syria ‐ the deal that’s a scandal to all its Sunni and Shiite parties and whose victims are Sunni and Shiite people in Syria’s Wadi Barada and Aleppo’s countryside.

Not only that, but according to what was revealed, at some point, the kidnappers asked Qatar to leave the Arab Coalition against the Houthis in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and secure the release of Iranian soldiers held prisoners by rebels in Syria.

It’s all linked together, Iran, Qatar, al-Qaeda, the Popular Mobilization, Hezbollah and the Houthis. The British BBC and the American Washington Post, and not Al Arabiya television channel or Asharq al-Awsat daily or Alittihad daily, are who told us about the secret details of these Qatari deals.

We thus ask who, in general, funded the groups of strife and terror for the past 20 years in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt?

Channels like Al Hiwar Channel managed by Paleostinian Moslem Brüderbund figure Azzam al-Tamimi in London and similar figures like Sa'ad al-Faqih: Who were watering their seeds? This question is directed to the intelligent and the rational.

India-Pakistan
Abid Boxer in custody of Pakistani authorities, LHC told
[DAWN] The caretaker federal government told the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday that notorious 'encounter specialist' Abid Boxer has been in the custody of Pak authorities since February this year.

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Boxer ─ a former police officer wanted in over a dozen cases of murder, attempted murder, land-grabbing and others in Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

─ had been tossed in the calaboose
You have the right to remain silent...
in February in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in connection with a fraud case and brought back to Pakistain with the help of Interpol.

In March, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Punjab Police, however, denied these reports, and told the court Boxer had yet to be extradited to Pakistain.

The director FIA had reiterated the Interior Ministry's claim in the LHC during hearing of a petition filed by Boxer's father-in-law seeking protection for his son-in-law, that no agency had brought Boxer back to Pakistain.

Today, Deputy Attorney General Syed Zafar Abbas Gilani told the court that the former police officer had been shifted to Pakistain from Dubai in February.

Justice Anwarul Haq, who is hearing the case, directed the relevant authorities to produce Boxer before the court on July 27.

The court also summoned the director FIA in the next hearing of the case.

Boxer's father-in-law claims that a number of fabricated cases had been registered against his son-in-law on the basis of political victimisation and has sought protection for Boxer. He is afraid that his son-in-law will be killed in a fake encounter.

Who is Abid Boxer
Abid Hussain had joined the police department in 1988 as an assistant sub-inspector. He was later promoted to the rank of inspector. He fled Pakistain in 2008 after the police lodged cases against him under murder, attempted murder, fraud and forgery charges.

The murder case that forced Hussain to flee Pakistain was lodged against him at Qila Gujjar Singh cop shoppe after the death of a retired army brigadier, Naseem Ashraf. Ashraf’s wife had lodged the case accusing the former inspector of killing her husband. She alleged that Hussain wanted to grab a cinema owned by the retired brigadier in 2008.

The complainant later died under mysterious circumstances and it was suspected that she too was killed at the behest of Boxer.

In February, Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan

alleged that the former inspector had confessed to killing people on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif
...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab...
"Police never kill people until and unless a chief minister orders or grants permission to kill people," he had quoted Abid as saying. "Abid Boxer fled to Dubai as Shahbaz Sharif wanted to kill him because he could expose the chief minister," Khan alleged.

Iraq
The incomplete pride of liberating Mosul
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi always speaks more effectively than he acts. His latest statement was issued to mark the occasion of the first anniversary of liberating djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, which was almost going to be completely destroyed. Tens of thousands of its inhabitants are still living there in terrible conditions in the city, as if they never got rid of the ISIS occupation and its dire consequences.

These citizens were not at all responsible for this, but the government and the powerful political elite bear full political and moral responsibility for what happened to Mosul and other cities. They are also responsible for what preceded or followed in other Iraqi cities and areas, and it’s all due to the flagrant lack of patriotism and the fierce conflict for money and power among those entrusted with the responsibility of ruling the state.

Word without actions
Abadi said in the statement: "Today we (mark) with pride and appreciation the first anniversary of Mosul’s liberation - that eternal epic that fills the hearts of our people and that defeated ISIS which (assaulted) Mosul."

Yes, exactly, we, the Iraqis, do recall Mosul’s liberation from terrorism with pride and appreciation, but at the same time we also remember ‐ and this is something that Mr. Abadi did not say and would never say even in 10 years ‐ that those who are responsible of the crime of handing over Mosul and other cities to ISIS and for the resulting national catastrophe, are still not being questioned or punished.

They are still free and fear nothing and nobody. Some of them even still hold positions of responsibility at the highest civil, military and security levels and no one tells them anything!

What Abadi did not and will also never say or do if he gets a second term as premier is that he will not fulfill the promise he had made to himself and that he had publicly pledged several times to fight administrative and financial corruption the same way he fought ISIS.

The main reason behind the ISIS catastrophe was administrative and financial corruption. It’s been a whole year after liberating Mosul and Abadi has not taken and will not take any action against corruption.

This is one example of what made the head of the Integrity Commission resign from his position as he, like the rest of us, only heard words from Abadi about fighting corruption, without seeing any action.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israel says Russia working with pro-Iranian militias near Syria-Israel border
[IsraelTimes] Officials confirm Iran-sponsored groups have been cooperating with Moscow in areas close to border as part of offensive against rebels in Daraa

Despite claims by Israeli sources that Russia is acting to distance Iran from the Israeli-Syrian border, the recent Syrian army campaign in the area of Daraa, near the border, saw cooperation between the Russians army, Syrian forces, Hezbollah, and pro-Iranian militias.

Israeli military sources confirmed the information.

The regime’s assault, which began in mid-June, was directed at defeating rebel forces controlling the area. The Russians provided an aerial umbrella for the land forces acting on behalf of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Scourge of Qusayr...
, which included pro-Iranian militias and the Leb-based Hezbollah.

According to claims by the Syrian opposition, the operation included face-to-face meetings between representatives of the Russian army and commanders of pro-Iranian Shiite militias, which were held in areas just 30 kilometers (18.5 miles) from the Israeli border.

On the eve of the regime’s assault, there were reports that Israel had reiterated its longstanding demand that pro-Iranian militias, as well as Iran’s Lebanese proxy Hezbollah and members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, be withdrawn to at least 40-80 kilometers (25-50 miles) from the border.

According to some reports, Israel is demanding a complete withdrawal of Iranian forces from the country, though Russia has said that is unlikely to happen.

The Kremlin said the issue of the Iranian presence in Syria would feature high on the agenda of Monday’s meeting in Helsinki between Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
and US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
According to the Syrian American Council, an opposition-supporting lobby group in the US, Iraqi Shiite militia forces who operate under the auspices of Iran were seen in the city of Da’el, located just 30 kilometers from the Israeli border.

In a photograph obtained by the lobby group and shared with The Times of Israel on Monday, an unidentified Russian general is seen meeting with "Abu Ajeeb, commander of the Liwa Abu Fadel al-Abbas," a militia set up in 2013 that acts under the auspices of the Revolutionary Guards.

According to the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, the photograph shows a July 4 meeting in a schoolyard in Da’el. The authenticity of the photo and its location could not be confirmed, but given the cooperation and coordination between Russia and forces loyal to the regime in Daraa, it is not unlikely.

Fifth Column
Matt Rivitz, Founder of Sleeping Giants, Behind Anti-Breitbart, Laura Ingraham Social Media Mobs
[BREITBART] A Monday report revealed Matt Rivitz, a the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
-based ad executive, as the founder of Sleeping Giants, the anonymous leftist group that organizes social media mobs in an effort to silence conservative voices.

According to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s (DCNF) Peter Hasson, Rivitz’s identity as the until-now anonymous founder is confirmed by clues left in Rivitz’s media interviews and social media posts by people in his "social and professional circles."

Rivitz himself long ago deleted his Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as his professional websites.

The group’s modus operandi is consistent throughout its campaigns: use social media in cooperation with other well-funded left-wing groups like Media Matters for America and Think Progress to urge their followers to contact advertisers en masse ‐ expressing their outrage that companies dare advertise with conservatives ‐ until the companies relent and pull their ads. Equally consistent is their goal in organizing these social media mobs: pressure corporate America to blacklist conservative audiences.

Sleeping Giants’ first crusade was to drive Breitbart News from the web, starting in 2016. Despite being unable to do so, the group has branched out into threatening the advertisers of other leading voices on the right like Fox News’s Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly. Sleeping Giants also sought to bring pressure on CEOs to drop out of President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s consultative councils. More recently, the group joined with teenage anti-gun rights campaigner David Hogg to try to push conservative icon Laura Ingraham off the FM airwaves and cable news.

Rivitz, throughout the time he has been organizing boycotts against advertisers, worked in the ad industry. According to his AdForum and AdAge profiles, Rivitz has done copywriting work with Goodby Silverstein & Partners, a major San Francisco ad firm, and Wieden + Kennedy, a Portland-based advertising powerhouse, although he does not appear to be employed at either agency at the moment.

The DCNF reports that Rivitz’s wife, Blythe Lang, was also an enthusiastic supporter of Sleeping Giants’ work, her Facebook "likes" of the group’s early work being one of the breadcrumbs leading to Rivitz.

Europe
E pur si muove: Dutch FM under fire after making discriminatory remarks
[Al Jazeera] Politicians and refugee organizations have criticised Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok for claiming there are no peaceful multi-cultural societies.

Blok, a member of the liberal VVD, the largest party in the Netherlands, also said that Suriname has become a failed state because of its ethnic divide.

The minister made the comments during a private event last week, where he met with Dutch citizens working for international organizations.

Footage of the speech was obtained by Zembla, a TV programme focused on investigative journalism.

"Give me an example, of a multi-ethnic or multi-cultural society, where the original population are still living as well. [...] And where there are peaceful community relations. I'm not aware of any," Blok said during the event.

After an audience members mentioned Suriname, a former Dutch colony, Blok disagreed vehemently.

"Suriname peaceful? A functioning rule of law and democracy? Courageous, this remark. So the parties in Suriname are not divided by their ethnicity," Blok said.

"I admire your optimism. Suriname is a failed state, and that is mostly due to ethnic division."

After another audience member gave Singapore as an example, Blok said that is only because Singapore's strict immigration policy.

"Singapore is indeed a small mini-country, extremely selective in its migration. Extremely selective," the FM said.

"It is very difficult to 'get in'. They don't allow any poor migrants colonists in. Well, maybe for cleaning," he added.

Genetically determined
According to Blok, countries that receive a lot of migrants colonists will run into trouble eventually.

"If you live in Benoordenhout [a neighbourhood in The Hague], it's really great to be able to nip to the Ottoman Turkish baker on a Sunday," Blok said.

"You don’t suffer from any of the side effects [then]. But if you're surrounded by them, you suffer greatly.

"I can't see the difference between a Hutu and a Tutsi, or a Sunni or a Shiite, but unfortunately they do. It has nothing to do with skin colour," he added.

Blok said this was all because of human genetics, claiming that people "don't find it easy to make connections with people who are unfamiliar to us".

The foreign minister also said the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
will never get Eastern European countries to accept as many refugees as other EU countries, and that people of colour leave cities like Warsaw only days after arriving because they are beaten and harassed.

'Unworthy of a minister'
Blok's remarks were heavily criticised by Dutch politicians and human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
organizations.

Lilian Ploumen, chairwoman of the social-democratic PvdA party and former minister for foreign trade and development cooperation, said she will ask questions in parliament about Blok's remarks.

Stiching Vluchtelingenwerk, an NGO focused on the rights of refugees, said in a tweet the comments were "unworthy of a minister", adding that was welcome Blok to join in charity work benefiting refugees.

Lilian Marijnissen, leader of the Socialist Party in Dutch parliament, simply tweeted Blok's name and included a picture of a quote by Nelson Mandela.

Green party MP Zihni Ozdil, who is of Ottoman Turkish descent, said in a post on Facebook that Blok "not only offends people that look like me, but our whole national history and identity."

Leader of the far-right PVV party Geert Wilders called Blok "a weakling" for apologising for his comments and said he completely agreed with Blok's remarks.

Joel Voordewind, member of parliament for the Christian ChristenUnie party, called the minister's statements "unlucky".
I think he meant unfortunate, which appears to mean the same thing, but most definitely does not.
Following the publication of the video, Blok said he was sorry for the remarks he made in a letter addressed to the Dutch parliament.

In the letter, Blok said his comments were merely made "to provoke", that his wording was "too sharp" and that he "is sorry if his comments led to anyone being offended."
