Colombian Airline Wants To Make Its Planes Have Ridiculously Small Standing Seats
[Daily Caller] Columbian budget airline VivaColombia renewed its call for "standing seats" in an attempt to reduce ever-increasing flying costs.

VivaColombia, which flies daily from Medellin to Miami, is the latest airline to express interest in vertical seating, The Telegraph reported Tuesday.

"There are people out there right now researching whether you can fly standing up," VivaColombia’s founder and CEO William Shaw said. "We’re very interested in anything that makes travel less expensive."

Airbus pioneered vertical seating in 2003, and in 2010, RyanAir toyed with the same idea, calling vertical seats "bar stools with seat belts."

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that seatbelts are necessary to keep passengers safe, adding that there would be many barriers to break before carriers could launch "stand-up" flights.

Illinois Sen. Durbin's Office Won't Release Emails With GOP Baseball Shooter
[Daily Caller] Democratic Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin’s office will not release reported email correspondence with anti-GOP shooter James Hodgkinson.

An Associated Press report says, "Hodgkinson also visited the office of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose campaign he had worked on as a volunteer, and was in email contact with the two Democratic senators from his home state."

The "two Democratic senators from his home state" of Illinois would presumably be Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.

When The Daily Caller reached out to Sen. Durbin’s office, we received this comment, "Mr. Hodgkinson contacted our office to state his opinion on a variety of legislation over the years. Those emails were all given to USCP and are part of the current investigation."

When TheDC asked for more details, or whether they planned to publicly release the emails Hodgkinson sent, no response was received.

TheDC also repeatedly contacted Sen. Duckworth’s office looking for a comment or a release of the emails, but received no response.

Hodgkinson, a left-wing Bernie supporter, allegedly opened fire on a group of GOP Congressman practicing at a baseball field. He shot and injured Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, and his social media presence indicated he thought Trump was a "traitor."

Obama's Criminal Enterprise Collapsing
[American Thinker] As former FBI Director James Comey’s best friend, Robert Mueller, stocks his Seinfeld investigation-about-nothing with every Democratic lawyer and Hillary and/or Obama donor he can find, we are treated to the delicious irony of collusion with Russia being confirmed -- and the colluder-in-chief being Ex-president Barack Hussein Obama.

Even Obama’s Democrat supporters are now acknowledging he knew about Russia’s hacking of the DNC and Podesta emails. They are acknowledging that he did nothing but are not acknowledging the reason why ‐ that he thought Hillary Clinton was going to succeed him and he wanted to do nothing to offend the Russians to whom he had once famously promised more "flexibility."
Somewhat lengthy, but succulent.

Club for Growth Attacks Senate Health Care Bill: 'It Restores Obamacare' - Major doners close wallets
[PJMedia] On Tuesday, the conservative nonprofit Club for Growth issued a statement attacking the Senate Republicans' health care bill as "restoring," rather than repealing and replacing, Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The statement revealed how divided conservatives are on the legislation, with other conservative nonprofits tiptoeing around the issue.
Obamacare was about centering power over the health care system in Washington. Congress, with its love for pork and fundraisers does not want to kill it
"For seven long years, Americans have waited for health care reform that would repeal the disaster that is Obamacare," Club for Growth President David McIntosh said in the statement. "The Club for Growth and the American people took Republicans in Congress at their word when they promised to repeal every word -- 'root and branch' -- of Obamacare and replace it with a patient-centered approach to health care."

McIntosh attacked the legislation before the Senate, the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, as a restoration, rather than a repeal, of Obamacare. "Only in Washington does repeal translate to restore," he said. "Because that's exactly what the Senate GOP healthcare bill does: it restores Obamacare. And while it's hard to imagine, in some ways the Senate's legislation would make our nation's failing healthcare system worse."

He further added that the Senate "has produced Obamacare-lite." The Club for Growth president highlighted four key problems in the bill.

First, he noted that it is a $292 billion tax increase over the House version, H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017. He also argued that the bill "punts" the difficult task of Medicaid reforms, which "will bankrupt future generations due to Senate Republicans' lack of political courage." McIntosh also said the bill also would leave untouched Obamacare's most onerous regulations, which drove up premiums and deductibles. Finally, he attacked the bill for creating Republican mandates and penalties.

McIntosh was not the only conservative to attack the bill. "We're disappointed lawmakers haven't done more to improve health care, but we remain committed to working with them to make progress," Freedom Partners Vice President of Policy Nathan Nascimento told PJ Media. "We worked with the House to improve the AHCA, and we'll continue to work with the Senate to improve its legislation. But, regardless of the final text, we will still have a lot of work to do to fix healthcare."

Nascimento's comments revealed a conservative nonprofit stuck between the Scylla of endorsing a flawed piece of legislation and the Charybdis of stopping all possible improvements to health care. As the saying goes, "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."
I'll just settle for government taking as many of its nose pickers out of health care as possible
Tensions are high on the issues. At least one conservative donor threatened to remove funding for Republicans in Congress if they fail to act on health care and taxes. Speaking in Colorado Springs, Colo., outside the Koch donor network's gathering, Texas-based donor Doug Deason said the "Dallas piggy bank" is closed until Republicans pass meaningful reform.

"Get Obamacare repealed and replaced, get tax reform passed," Deason said. "You control the Senate. You control the House. You have the presidency. There's no reason you can't get this done. Get it done and we'll open it back up."

Yahoo News reported that billionaire conservatives warned "of a rapidly shrinking window to push their agenda through Congress and get legislation to President Donald Trump to sign into law." The most important issues for the Koch network (of which Freedom Partners and the larger Americans for Prosperity are a part) were to overhaul the tax code and repeal and replace Obamacare.

"If they don't make good on these promises ... there are going to be consequences, and quite frankly there should be," said Sean Lansing, chief operating officer for Americans for Prosperity (AFP).

"There is urgency," AFP President Tim Phillips explained. "We believe we have a window of about 12 months to get as much of it accomplished as possible before the 2018 elections grind policy to a halt."

Amtrak train hits, kills two CSX employees on tracks
WASHINGTON -- Amtrak says there's been a fatal incident involving two people who were struck while on the tracks in Washington.

The railroad says a train traveling from Boston and New York was approaching Washington's Union Station around 11:18 p.m. Tuesday when the two people were struck. Amtrak says none of the train's crew members or 121 passengers was injured.

The National Transportation Safety Board says the two people were CSX Railroad employees, reports CBS Washington affiliate WUSA-TV.

Amtrak later said it is "particularly saddened that incident involved fellow railroaders employed by CSX."

In an online statement Wednesday morning, Amtrak says service was temporarily suspended between Washington and Philadelphia while authorities investigated the incident.

A CSX train was also involved in the incident, according to an NTSB official.

A DC Fire and EMS Tweet said rescue crews found two people already dead. One railroad worker was transported to a local hospital for checkup. There was no initial word on what caused the worker's injuries.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari told WUSA passengers stayed on the train for several hours before being transferred to another train and taken the rest of the way to Union Station.

Acting FBI Director McCabe disparaged Flynn to agents before Russian probe
[World Tribune] The FBI may have launched its investigation of former national security adviser Mike Flynn as retribution for Flynn’s intervention in a counterterror agent’s gender discrimination case against top FBI officials, including current acting Director Andrew McCabe, a report said.

The investigation of Flynn began two years after the retired Army general "roiled the bureau’s leadership" by intervening on behalf of Supervisory Special Agent Robyn Gritz, Circa reported on June 27, citing documents and interviews.

Flynn’s intervention, seen as highly unusual, included a letter in 2014 on his official Pentagon stationary, a public interview in 2015 supporting Gritz’s case and an offer to testify on her behalf, the report said.

"His offer put him as a hostile witness in a case against McCabe, who was soaring through the bureau’s leadership ranks."

Memos obtained by Circa show that the FBI sought to block Flynn’s support for Gritz, asking a federal administrative law judge in May 2014 to keep Flynn and others from becoming a witness in her Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) case. Two years later, the FBI opened its inquiry of Flynn.
A similar story ran yesterday, but it may be something to monitor as the digging continues, and I certainly hope it continues.

Christianity is ‘white supremacy disguised as religion'
[The Blaze] New York Daily News columnist and Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King said that some Christians’ faith is not really faith at all, but "white supremacy disguised as religion."

King made the comments on Twitter Monday shortly after the Supreme Court decided to take up in October President Donald Trump’s travel ban case.

The nine justices allowed parts of the travel ban to go into effect until October, and asked the parties in the case to determine whether the case would be moot by October, since the ban on individuals traveling from six Muslim-majority Middle Eastern countries would last only 90 days, and the ban on refugees coming to the U.S. would end after 120 days -- roughly the same amount of time between now and late October.

About an hour or so after the ruling, King took to Twitter to mock Christians, but more specifically, white Christians."

"To support a ban on immigrants & refugees, while calling yourself a Christian, is not faith, it’s white supremacy disguised as religion," King tweeted. In a separate tweet, King called Christians’ faith "fake as a $3 bill."

Pelosi: Let's Face It, This Republican Health-Care Bill Dishonors God
[Free Beacon] House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said on Tuesday that Republicans were dishonoring God with their efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.

Pelosi invoked God to appeal to Republicans across the aisle.

"I know my colleagues are people of faith,"Pelosi said. "They tell us that all the time."

"So, this is God's creation, we have a real responsibility to it," she continued. "To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us."

Pelosi said Republicans were ignoring "those needs," and implored her colleagues to "look into their hearts."

"So from our faith, from our responsibility and community in our country to acknowledging that we are all one family in our country, it is very important that our colleagues not only read the bill, but examine their consciences and look into their hearts, and maybe look into the eyes of these families, and maybe make a decision in favor of what is right," she said.

Trump Dossier Firm Again Refuses To Identify Its Political Clients
[Daily Caller] Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the infamous Trump dossier, is again refusing to disclose the identity of political clients who financed the anti-Trump dirt-digging project.

In a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee sent on Friday, lawyers for Fusion GPS said that disclosing the information about the firm’s opposition research project would undercut its First Amendment privileges and violate confidentiality agreements.

As has been widely reported, an unidentified Republican donor hired Fusion GPS in late 2015 to research Trump. But after the real estate magnate won the Republican primary, the donor dropped from the project. But Fusion GPS soon found another client, this one a Democratic ally of Hillary Clinton’s.

Fusion hired former British spy Christopher Steele to research Trump’s Russia connections. He produced a series of memos now known collectively as the dossier. The salacious document, much of which has been debunked, was leaked to numerous news outlets and published by BuzzFeed on Jan. 10.

I'm just curious when it was you got to start charging for evidence. Seems as though they used to just pretty much demand you hand it over followed by a herd of them in raid jackets introducing you and your employees to the floor in the event that order was not followed with great immediacy. The of course the real fun begins and they rip the walls out of your various homes and reduce your vehicles to component parts in the parking lot. But these guys get money? NATO partner Erdogan Seizes 50 Syriac Churches and Monasteries, Declares Them Turkish State Property
[PJ] The Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has seized control of at least 50 Syriac churches, monasteries, and cemeteries in Mardin province, report media sources from Turkey:

The Turkish-Armenian daily Agos reports:

After Mardin became a Metropolitan Municipality, its villages were officially turned into neighbourhoods as per the law and attached to the provincial administration. Following the legislative amendment introduced in late 2012, the Governorate of Mardin established a liquidation committee. The Liquidation Committee started to redistribute in the city, the property of institutions whose legal entity had expired. The transfer and liquidation procedures are still ongoing.

In 2016, the Transfer, Liquidation and Redistribution Committee of Mardin Governorate transferred to primarily the Treasury as well as other relevant public institutions numerous churches, monasteries, cemeteries and other assets of the Syriac community in the districts of Mardin.

The Mor Gabriel Monastery Foundation appealed to the decision yet the liquidation committee rejected their appeal last May. The churches, monasteries and cemeteries whose ownerships were given to the Treasury were then transferred to the Diyanet.

Senate Democrat Compares Supreme Court Justices to 'Horsemen of the Apocalypse'
[PJ] On Monday, Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) compared Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch, Samuel Alito, and Clarence Thomas to "the three horsemen of the apocalypse" for their decision to partially grant the Trump administration's request to lift a stay and implement his travel ban, which Hirono called a "Muslim ban."

"Neil Gorsuch, who I did not support as a Supreme Court justice, he's joined two of the most conservative justices, Clarence Thomas, and Alito on the Court to take the position that the entire injunction should have been lifted," Hinoro said on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports."

"This is like the three horsemen of the apocalypse, and they're waiting for the fourth one to come along so that they can go on their trend toward what I call extremism," Hirono added. "I'm not surprised at all that Neil Gorsuch is right in there with Thomas and Alito, wanting to pretty much tell the president, 'You just go right ahead, impose a Muslim ban.'"

Government
Theater That Put On Trump Assassination Play Gets New NEA $100,000 Grant
[Free Beacon] The Public Theater in New York has received an additional $100,000 grant from the federal government, fresh off its controversy for staging a Julius Caesar production where a Donald Trump lookalike is assassinated.

Just days after controversy over the graphic mock Trump killing began, the National Endowment for the Arts announced its newest round of grants.

The Public Theater received $100,000 for its New York Shakespeare Festival. This time the theater will do performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

"Performances will take place outdoors at Central Park's Delacorte Theater, bringing together a diverse audience with renowned classical performers and young, emerging actors of all backgrounds and experience," according to the June 14 grant announcement.

The NEA denied that any previous funding went to the production of Julius Caesar, but said, "In the past, the New York Shakespeare Festival has received project-based NEA grants to support performances of Shakespeare in the Park by the Public Theater."

While the government is not shying away from the theater after the controversy, other corporate sponsors have. Bank of America and Delta Airlines pulled funding following the graphic images from the play, and attention from the Trump family.

"I wonder how much of this ’art' is funded by taxpayers?" asked Donald Trump Jr. in a tweet.

The taxpayer transparency group OpenTheBooks.com reported that the New York Shakespeare Festival, which is the parent company of the Public Theater, has received nearly $30 million in federal, state, and city grants since 2009.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Alabama Veteran returns fire, wounds three repeat home invaders
[Breitbart] A Theodore, Alabama, Marine Corps veteran took fire then returned it, wounding three home invasion suspects in broad daylight.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports that the three suspects "have broken into the man’s home before and threatened to harm the victim if he reported the incident to authorities." The 62-year-old veteran reported that incident anyway, and was ready when suspects attempted to enter the home again.

According to AL.com, when the suspects approached the veteran’s residence for the second time, "they fired several rounds through the front door," hitting the veteran in the shoulder. " The veteran then "returned fire, injuring all three suspects."

One of the suspects remained on scene while two others got into their car and drove to nearby Dollar General Store. "Deputies arrived at the store to find the two suspects on the ground."

The suspects were taken to a hospital and MCSO made clear that they were "in custody" while in the hospital. The homeowner was taken to the hospital to be treated for his shoulder wound as well.

Ransomware attack causes disruptions across globe
[Al Jazeera] A massive new international cyberattack via a ransomware virus dubbed Petya has paralysed businesses across Europe and is spreading elsewhere.

Several major corporations on Tuesday said they had been targeted in the cyberattack which started in Ukraine and Russia before hitting other European countries.

Danish shipping giant Maersk, Russia's Rosneft oil firm, British advertising agency WPP and the French industrial group Saint-Gobain all said they came under attack and put protection protocols in place to avoid data loss.

One of the countries particularly hit was Ukraine, where serious intrusions at the power grid, banks and government offices were experienced. Boryspil Airport in the capital, Kiev, was also affected.

Arabia
Who targeted the Holy Kaaba?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The question itself is chilling. How could anyone, whatever his religion, target the Holy Kaaba? How could he target the masses of believers in the most peaceful and spiritual moments?

The question is magnified and mystified when the doer is carrying the banner of Islam, citing the holy book, and claims to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him). How could a state, group, or an individual who embraces the peaceful religion of Islam target Moslems during the holy month of Ramadan, on the night of the Holy Qur’an, in the House of God, the Haram al-Sharif?

The inevitable answer is that they have no relation to Islam or any religion -- whatsoever. The executor is merely a tool, a person who has lost his mind, soul and humanity to the point of conviction that he is entering Paradise with Moslems by killing Moslems; that he would drink from Al Kawthar spring with the Prophet (peace be upon him), by killing and frightening his visitors and his mosque worshipers (as they did the same time, last year).

As for those who motivated, guided and supported the terrorists, I have no doubt that they know exactly what they are doing. They sit in their safe houses with their children and families, and pay the fools to carry out their dirty worldly political agendas. They do not care how many innocent victims fall, and how much Islam’s image is distorted, for their goals have nothing to do with religion or humanity.

Important objective
One of the most important objectives, I believe, is to prove that Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
is unable to provide protection for the holy mosques and their visitors. Therefore, the management of Haj and Umrah must be internationalized, as Iran has, forever, been calling for.

They also aim to fail the new Crown Prince, Muhammad Bin Salman, who has declared war on their terrorism and achieved measurable successes.

Recent wins against terrorist organizations in Arab and Moslem countries must have provoked their sponsors’ anger and resentment. In response they pursued high-impact strikes against us. What would be more appropriate, in their twisted minds, to carry out the horrendous crime, than the night of "khatma" (the reading of the last chapter of Qur’an), when 4 millions pilgrims and worshipers gather in one place behind one imam, watched live by 1.6 billion Moslems, plus billions more around the globe?

What is easier and more effective than a suicide kaboom that results in a stampede in the most crowded place on earth, leaving huge losses and uncontrollable chaos? What is a better platform than to do it under the eyes and ears of the Saudi leadership and their guests, the Arab and Moslem leaders, praying in Safa Palace, overlooking the Sacred House?

These people forgot that the House is protected by the Lord; that the State of Saudi Arabia has used all its resources to secure the guests of the Beneficent; and that every Saudi citizen is their adversary. We must always remind them that they are the targets, the persuaded. And that the Sword of Firmness will reach them wherever they may be -- Iran included.

The Islamic Nation and the international community should intensify their efforts to fight terrorism, abort terrorist schemes, and target all terror sponsors.

Finally, a special tribute must be extended to the security forces who have proved, once again, that they are our watchful eyes and solid shields. Their performance is appreciated in the service of the guests of Allah and the security of the two holy mosques.

They deserved the special tribute of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman during his visit to the group that faced the snuffies and thwarted their malicious plans. God bless them all!

#1  ISIS considers the various actions involving the Kaaba stone to be idolatry.

Their theory is not without some substance.

the Kaaba stone is not mentioned in the Koran, it is based on Islamic tradition and probably pre Islamic tradition and the veneration of the stone comes close to being an act of stone worship which would be idolatry. From this point of view, the destruction of the Kaaba stone would save many moslems from the fiery torment of hell since it would prevent this act of idolatry.

1. First, was that Ramadan would be the best time for targeting.
2. Second, was that you reap as you sow.
3. Third, that maybe some Muslims might be waking up to the problems within their religion.

US Senate Republicans delay vote on Obamacare repeal bill
[Iran Press TV] US Senate Republican leaders have delayed the vote on repealing and replacing Obamacare
... aka the Affordable Care Act, an ineptly designed and worse executed piece of legislation designed to bring 17 percent of the U.S. economy under the direct control of the government. The previous iteration, known as Hillarycare, was laughed out of Washington. This stinker was passed on a party-line vote without being read...
until after next week's Fourth of July holiday due to a lack of party support.

The announcement made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday came as a setback to the Republicans to replace Obamacare, which according to the Congressional Budget Office would leave an estimated 22 million more people without health insurance by 2026.

"We are going to continue the discussions within our conference on the differences that we have that we’ll continue to try to litigate," McConnell told news hounds. "Consequently, we will not be on the bill this week but we are still working toward getting at least 50 people in a comfortable place."

It is "a big complicated bill, they’re hard to bring together and hard to pass," he added, describing Republicans as "optimistic that we’re going to get a result that’s better than the status quo."

The Republican bill is aimed at fulfilling President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's pledge to repeal the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, the signature health insurance achievement of former President Barack Obama
I inhaled. That was the point...
. Obamacare covers some 20 million Americans.

In the most contentious congressional vote of Trump's presidency last month, politicians voted 217 to 213 to pass the Obamacare repeal-and-replace bill.

#4  According to the latest available census figures:

In 2015, the percentage of people without health insurance coverage for the entire calendar year was 9.1 percent, or 29.0 million, lower than the rate and number of uninsured in 2014 (10.4 percent or 33.0 million).

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday that the Republicans replacement plan (which according to the CBO) would leave an estimated 22 million more without health insurance by 2026.

Does this mean that 22 million people would lose crappy health care insurance over the current estimate of 29 million uninsured? In other words, 51 million people would be uninsured? Are we back to where we started before the Dems started this costly albatross?

US tech giants join forces against terror content
[DAWN] Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter and YouTube announced Monday the launch of an anti-terror partnership aimed at thwarting the spread of murderous Moslem content online.

The "Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism" intends to share engineering, research and knowledge to help "continue to make our hosted consumer services hostile to turbans and violent murderous Moslems," the companies said.

Each of the technology giants has been working individually to prevent its platforms or services from being used to promote or spread murderous Moslem views.

"The spread of terrorism and violent extremism is a pressing global problem and a critical challenge for us all," said a joint statement posted on Twitter's policy blog.

"We believe that by working together, sharing the best technological and operational elements of our individual efforts, we can have a greater impact on the threat of terrorist content online."

The new forum built on discussions in Europe and conclusions of recent G7 and European Council, according to the companies.

The forum planned to work with smaller tech firms as well as civil groups, academics and governmental bodies.

"The scope of our work will evolve over time as we will need to be responsive to the ever-evolving terrorist and murderous Moslem tactics," the founding companies said.

Facebook now deleting 66K posts a week in anti-hate campaign

[Ynet] Facebook is deleting about 66,000 posts a week as the social media giant cracks down on what it considers to be hate speech.

The company says in a blog post Tuesday that deleting posts can "feel like censorship," but that it is working on explaining its process better.

Facebook says it defines hate speech as attacks on people based on their race, sexual orientation and other "protected characteristics." The Menlo Park, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, company says it mostly relies on its nearly two billion users to report any hateful posts they see. Workers then review the posts and decide whether to delete it.

Facebook Inc. says it has 4,500 workers reviewing posts and plans to hire 3,000 more in the next year.

The deleted posts went up over the last two months.

Pakistani Forces 'Providing Weapons' To Taliban In Border Regions
[Tolo News] A police commander in Paktia province, in Afghanistan’s east, on Tuesday said Pakistani military forces ‘are supplying heavy weapons to Taliban fighters in areas along the Durand Line – the de facto border between Afghanistan and Pakistan – in order to attack Afghan security forces’.
Weapons, food & lodging, transport, medical evacuation....been going on for years, possibly decades.
The militants are stationed in parts of Dand-e-Patan district, said Gen. Abdulwase, commander of 203 Thunder Army Corps in the district.

“How do they (the Taliban) find weapon in the Zero Point (of the Durand Line), how are they equipped, how do they find personnel and where are they supported from? Pakistan is simply deceiving the world. But the world knows that Pakistani government is providing all these facilities to the Taliban,” he said.

He said the security forces will clear the district of Taliban and will cut off the supply lines of the militants, he said.

Wase said that so far over 110 Taliban fighters have been eliminated during the battles with the security forces. “At least 115 enemy fighters were killed and 70 others wounded. They attacked us twelve times in past few days but we repelled all their attacks,” he added.

According to him, the Pakistan government does not want the supply line to be cut off. The security forces launched a military operation in Dand-e-Pathan district one month ago, killing more than 150 Taliban militants.

Turkish Army tanks pour into northern Aleppo for humongous offensive
[ALMASDARNEWS] Kurdish forward units in the Efrin region are on high alert after massive deployments of Turkish armored vehicles were spotted arriving in northern Aleppo on Tuesday.

Ahead of the suspected offensive, the Turkish Army lit up the skies over northern Aleppo on Tuesday evening, targeting a string of Kurdish-held villages with artillery fire while reconnaissance planes hovered above the battlefield throughout the day.

Meanwhile,
...back at the saloon, Butch got the bill for the damage caused by the fist fight, the mirror broken in the shootout, and drinks for everyone......
an amateur video emerged reportedly showing dozens of Turkish Army tanks arriving in region, likely to spearhead a brand new offensive aimed at connecting the northern Aleppo pocket with the rebel heartland in Idlib.

Israel uses fabricated claims of rocket fire as excuses to attack Gaza: Hamas
Talk to the hand, dude
[Iran Press TV] The Paleostinian resistance movement Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, has stressed that Israel uses fabricated claims of rocket fire to justify its attacks on the Gazoo Strip.

"The Israeli claim of a rocket being fired from Gazoo and issuing a statement on behalf of ISIS to justify the escalation and an attack of resistance positions are part of a dangerous and transparent Israeli game," said Hamas on Tuesday.

The resistance movement was referring to claims made by Israeli media that a Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group affiliated to ISIS had announced its responsibility for a rocket being launched from Gazoo into an unpopulated area in the occupied territories.

Hamas released the statement after Israeli fighter jets carried out multiple Arclight airstrikes on various positions throughout the Gazoo Strip in response to the alleged rocket fire.

Daily clashes between Turkish forces and YPG in Afrin
[RUDAW.NET] Daily clashes are taking place between Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed groups in northern Syria.

The Kurdish canton of Afrin has been “shelled repeatedly” by Turkish forces and rebel groups backed by Turkey, the conflict monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday. The Observatory noted that the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) returned fire.

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), the dominant force in the SDF, confirmed that Turkish forces and their Syrian allies have “increased their attacks against Rojava,” targeting Afrin canton on a near daily basis over the past week and also flying over Kobane.

According to the Observatory, the rising tensions in northern Syria followed a build-up of Turkish forces in the area and “continued preparations” of Turkish forces and their Syrian allies “to carry out a wide-scale military operation against the Syria Democratic Forces in Afrin” and areas in the northern Aleppo countryside.

Asked earlier this week if the US-led coalition was aware of the Turkish build-up in northern Syria and fears of an attack on their SDF and YPG allies, coalition spokesperson Col. Ryan Dillon confirmed they had “seen some movement” but declined to make any further comment.

After clashes between Turkish and Kurdish forces near Manbij in March, the US deployed special forces to the area to “deter aggression” against them and reassure their Kurdish allies.

ISIS pushes use of its currency in Syria
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS ordered shopkeepers and traders to price goods in its currency, the dirham, as of Tuesday and set the value at 1,000 Syrian pounds ($1.80) per dirham, seeking to steer its own monetary policy even as its territorial grip is shaken.

The announcement, circulated in an audio statement on ISIS-run messaging platforms, said two Syrian banknotes - the 1,000 pound note and 50 pound note - would be banned in the areas it controls as of July 25.

The murderous Moslem group has lost swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq, and is under siege in its de facto Syrian capital at Raqqa as US-backed forces press an assault to capture the city. It is also on the brink of defeat in the Iraqi city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
The group is believed to have moved its leadership to the Syrian town of al-Mayadeen, southeast of Raqqa, close to the Iraqi border in Deir al-Zor province.

The ISIS decree made no mention of a ban on the 500 Syrian pound note. It said exchange rates for the ISIS currency would be declared on a daily basis. ISIS declared the launch of its own currency in 2015.

In a televised address on Tanasuh TV to announce the end of Ramadan and start of Eid al-Fitr, he said the nation does not need more fighting or differences, urging the Libyans to rally behind a newly-proposed national initiative to resolve the political crisis.

"Despite our repeated calls for reconciliation, some parties are still accusing us of inciting bloodshed," he said.

He criticized "some countries" for fueling the conflict in Libya, saying their support to one of the conflicting parties over another is a clear example that they cannot reconcile between the Libyans.

The Mufti is an advocate for a Libyan-Libyan political solution to the conflict.

Libya’s Amazigh intend to declare a military council
[Libya Observer] Military officers from the Amazigh community in western Libya are planning to declare a military council for Libyan Amazigh, Fassato news website quoted a military source as saying.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source told the Amazigh news outlet on Thursday that the move comes in response to "the policy of exclusion and marginalization practiced by the Presidential Council and its government towards the Amazigh in Libya."

"These practices pose a threat to the national security of the Amazigh," the source said.

The military source also rejected the latest Presidential Council appointment of Osama al-Jwaili, from Zintan, as Chief of the Western Military Zone.

"The inclusion of the Amazigh districts within this military zone is a political decision imposed from the outside." The source stated.

No date was set for the declaration of the Amazigh military council.

Maduro says supreme court attacked from helicopter
[Al Jazeera] Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro said on Tuesday that a police helizaped the Supreme Court in Caracas in a confusing incident that he claimed was part of a conspiracy to destabilise his socialist government.

The incident occurred as Maduro was speaking live on state television

to journalists gathered at the presidential palace.

He said two grenades were thrown from a helicopter upon offices of the court but that the Venezuelan special forces repelled what he called a "terrorist attack".

"I have activated the entire armed forces to defend the peace," he added.

But many opponents on social media accused the president himself of trying to spread fear to help justify a crackdown against Venezuelan seeking to block his plans to rewrite the constitution.

Maduro has been facing three months of opposition protests and some dissent from within government ranks.

"We heard (a) huge kaboom and flame rising from the ship. I believe that the ship is foreign," Ali Shire, mayor of Puntland’s port town of Alula, a pirate haven, told Rooters on Tuesday.

He said he believed the ship was likely a naval vessel because two foreign navy ships had helped rescue the crew.

It was not immediately clear whether the kaboom on Monday afternoon was caused by an accident onboard the vessel or was triggered by pirate attackers. It was also not clear whether the vessel had sunk after the blast.

Somali pirates often prowl waters around Alula. In March, pirates hijacked an oil tanker, Aris 13, with eight Sri Lankan crew on board, the first time a commercial ship was commandeered in the region since 2012.

US seeks Bangladesh’s help for info on suspected scammer Muksedur
[Dhaka Tribune] The US government has sought help from Bangladesh to obtain the bank and business records of a suspect in a fake jobs scam case.

The US Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs prepared a letter addressed to family members and relatives of the suspect, Muksedur Rahman, reports Saipan Tribune.

According to the report, Assistant US Attorney James J Benedetto mentioned the letter in documents filed in federal court last week.

Benedetto said six people, including one Bangladeshi, were accused of collecting large amounts of money from 12 people.

Roughly between $15,000 and $20,000 were taken from each of the 12 victims and the majority of the payments allegedly occurred in Bangladesh.

Muksedur and his co-schemers allegedly instructed the victims to make payments to his (Muksedur) various relatives and in-laws living here.

The assistant US attorney said some of the payments were made in cash directly to one of the schemers and some were deposited directly into the accounts of Muksedur’s family members.

He said witnesses who were present when the payments were made will corroborate the cash payments, and business records will corroborate the payments deposited into Muksedur family members’ bank accounts.

The records will be produced in discovery as soon as they are received by the US government.

The defendants were charged with 17 counts such as mail fraud, fraud in foreign labour contracting, and fraud and misuse of visas and permits.

Israel security chief: Agency strikes back at online hackers
A different front of the same war.
[Ynet] The Shin Bet's director announces during conference that Israel has gone on the offensive against hackers seeking to carry out cyber attacks on Israel, arguing that 'passive defense' is not enough; Mossad also launches technological innovation fund to ’strengthen both startup companies and the Mossad’s knowledge base.’

Israel's security chief said Tuesday that the Shin Bet has gone on the offensive against hackers trying to carry out cyberattacks against Israel on the internet.

The remarks by Nadav Argaman are a rare admission of Israel's use of offensive cyber capabilities.

Argaman comments were made at a cyber defense conference in Tel Aviv.

He said that "passive defense" is not enough, and that the Shin Bet studied hackers' strategies and developed "a variety of ways and methods" on how to strike back.

Israeli cyber officials are ordinarily reluctant to discuss the use of offensive capabilities against hackers.

Also on Tuesday Israel's Intelligence and Special Operations agency, the Mossad, officially launched Libertad Ventures, a technological innovation fund, which the organization says seeks to "strengthen both startup companies and the Mossad’s knowledge base, operating at the forefront of technological innovation."

Libertad--the Latin word for freedom and also the name of a ship that carried immigrants colonists from Bulgaria to mandatory Paleostine during World War II--will invest up to NIS 2 million in five startups every year working on groundbreaking technologies at the R&D stage.

Developers would retain the rights to their product and could sell it on, a Libertad statement read.

Ottoman Turkish artillery opens fire on Kurdish forces across entire frontier in northern Aleppo
[ALMASDARNEWS] A massive rebel offensive is looming in northern Syria after the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces bombarded nearly a dozen Kurdish-held villages on Tuesday evening.

Artillery shells landed on Tall Rifaat, Harbul, Ain Daqnah, Maranaz, Malkiyah, Qastal and Vilat al-Qadi while Turkish reconnaissance planes hovered over the town of Sheikh Issa for hours, likely to provide coordinates of Kurdish targets and explore weak points in their defensive lines.

In response to the Turkish hostilities, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) ‐ the majority of whom are YPG fighters ‐ exchanged fire with Turkish-backed rebels in northern Aleppo.

Ali Haider, Syrian minister for national reconciliation, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named the move was part of a new diplomatic campaign against Syria at the UN.

On Monday, the White House issued a statement claiming it had "potential" evidence the Syrian regime was preparing to carry out a chemical weapon attack similar to one that killed dozens in April. The statement warned Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
The Scourge of Hama...
"he and his military will pay a heavy price" if they carry out another "mass murder attack."

Pentagon spokesperson Capt. Jeff Davis said on Tuesday that activity at Syria’s Shayrat air base indicated "active preparations" of chemical weapons.

US intelligence claimed Shayrat air base was used to launch a sarin gas attack on the town of Khan Shaykhun in Idlib province on April 4, killing as many as 86 and injuring hundreds more.

Dozens dead in 'US-led strike' in Syria's al-Mayadeen
[Al Jazeera] A suspected US-led coalition air raid on an ISIS-run prison in eastern Syria has killed at least 57 people, according to a monitoring group.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday that most of the fatalities in the town of al-Mayadeen in Deir Az Zor province were civilian inmates.

At least 15 ISIS fighters were also killed in the raid, the UK-based monitor, which tracks developments in Syria's long-running conflict via a network of contacts on the ground, said.

Al-Ikhbariya, a Syrian state-run TV station, also cited its Deir Az Zor correspondent as saying coalition fighter jets had destroyed a building in al-Mayadeen used as a prison by ISIS to hold a "large number of civilians".

An activist-run media outlet in Deir Az Zor also reported the hit, which it said took place at dawn on Monday.

The US Central Command confirmed to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named news agency on Tuesday that it struck ISIS facilities in al-Mayadeen on June 25 and 26, but made no direct reference to the alleged ISIS prison.

CENTCOM said it will assess the allegations that civilian prisoners were killed, and it would publish the results of its assessment in its monthly civilian casualty report.

It said the Mayadeen mission was "meticulously planned and executed to reduce the risk ... to non-combatants".

Afghanistan
ISIS in Afghanistan release grim execution video purports to show execution by children
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group’s offshoot in Afghanistan, the so-called ISIS-Khurasan province, has released a new grim execution video purportedly showing the murder of five individuals.

The video circulated online by the supports of the terror group shows the killing of five individuals, accused of espionage.

However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
the grimmest part of the video is the execution carried out by two children, with both apparently being less than ten years of age.

The latest video by ISIS loyalists in Afghanistan has been released days after the terror group received unprecedented setbacks on the battlefield, losing several key commanders, leaders, and fighters.

The video has been released after the terror group’s attempts to establish a regional so-called caliphate and foothold in the country was thwarted, specifically in the battle of Tora Bora, one of the key mountainous terrains of the country and home to al-Qaeda’s founder and leader the late Osama bin Laden
... who is no longer with us, and won't be again...
who was ousted as a result of the US air campaign and was subsequently killed in Abottabad of Pakistain.

In the meantime, the Afghan forces, in collaboration with the US forces based in Afghanistan have stepped up efforts and counter-terrorism operations to oust and eliminate the terror group from the Afghan soil.

The acting Minister of Defense Tariq Shah Bahrami said two weeks ago that a major plan of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
(ISIS) to establish the Khurasan province in Afghanistan has been foiled by the Afghan cops.

Bahrami further added that the Afghan cops have launched 12 large operations so far and dozens of medium and large operations while hundreds of Arclight airstrikes have been conducted on the hideouts of the terror group.

According to the acting minister of defense, at least 2,500 Death Eaters of the terrorist group have been killed during the operations until now and around 800 others have sustained injuries.

Caribbean-Latin America
UN: Colombian rebels have handed over almost all weapons
[RUDAW.NET] Leftist rebels in Colombia have turned over almost all of their fighters' individual weapons as part of a historic peace deal reached with the government last year to end a half century of conflict, the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
said Monday.

A U.N. statement said it had received 7,132 weapons belonging to Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia
FARC or FARC-EP, is either a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary guerrilla organization or a drug cartel based in Colombia. It claims to represent the rural poor in a struggle against Colombia's wealthier classes, and opposes United States influence in Colombia, neo-imperialism, monopolization of natural resources by multinational corporations, and the usual raft of complaints. It funds itself principally through ransom kidnappings, taxation of the drug trade, extortion, shakedowns, and donations. It has lately begun calling itself Bolivarian and is greatly admired by Venezuela's President-for-Life Chavez, who seemingly fantasizes about living in the woods and kidnapping people himself. He provides FARC with safe areas along the border.
fighters. A smaller number of weapons will remain in the hands of guerrillas until Aug. 1, providing protection at 26 rural camps where the FARC's 7,000 fighters are making their transition to civilian life.

The announcement comes a day before President Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC's top commander Rodrigo Londono, better known by his nom de guerre Timochenko, are to meet in one of the rural camps to commemorate the completion of the disarmament process.

The rebels were supposed to have turned in all of their weapons by the end of May under the original terms of the peace deal but there have been numerous delays.

The first year of implementing the peace deal has been behind schedule on everything from building demobilization zones to passing laws to implement the accords. Nonetheless both the FARC and the government say they are making steady progress as the rebels transition to civilian life.

The accord, first signed in November, was narrowly rejected by Colombians in a referendum before being redrafted and pushed through Congress. Critics had said it was too lenient on FARC members.

Iraq
Iraqi forces retake 6 villages outside Tal Afar: Army
[AA.TR] The Iraqi army has retaken several more villages from ISIS forces of Evil outside the town of Tal Afar west of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, according to an Iraqi military source.

"Soldiers of the Iraqi Army's 15th Infantry Division have liberated the villages of Tel Khima Minor, Musheiqra al-Uliya, Musheiqra al-Sufla, Abu Kaddur, al-Baghla and al-Buwair," Iraqi army officer Jabbar Hassan told Anadolu Agency.

"The operation is aimed at stepping up pressure on armed holy warriors in Tal Afar -- and limiting their movement outside it -- in advance of a fresh push on the town center," Hassan said.

ISIS captured the predominantly Turkmen town of Tal Afar in mid-2014, forcing thousands of local residents to flee their homes.

On Tuesday, Iraqi forces also announced the recapture of a strategic part of ISIS-held western Mosul’s Old City district.

The Iraqi military remains engaged in a wide-ranging campaign -- launched last October in coordination with a U.S.-led air coalition -- to recapture the entire city of Mosul, ISIS’s last remaining stronghold in northern Iraq.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran’s supreme leader calls for jihad against Israel
[Dhaka Tribune] Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
...the successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and the actual dictator of Iran...
has said Moslems today are obliged to fight Israel with whatever means they have because Paleostine is the foremost issue of the Islamic world.
Tell that to those fighting for survival or conquest in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, and so forth, O Ayatollah Khamenei.
"According to Islamic jurisprudence, when an enemy takes over Moslem lands, Jihad in any possible form becomes everyone’s duty," Khamenei told Moslem ambassadors, Iranian officials and the public in Tehran on Monday during a meeting on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, reported Iran’s state-owned news media Press TV.

"Paleostine is the number one issue of the Islamic world, but some Islamic countries are acting in such a way as to have the Paleostinian case ignored and forgotten."

He referred to remarks this month by the US politician Dana Rohrabacher
...Representative for Caliphornia's 48th congressional district, and previously the 46th, 45th and 42nd, serving since 1989. He is a member of the Republican Party and a former speech writer for President Reagan...
appearing to support a terror attack in Tehran by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and implying that it was President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s strategy.

Ayatollah Khamenei said, "A US congressman defending a Sunni community against Shias, while they are hostile to the essence of Islam and Moslems, is a vicious conspiracy.

"And this matter calls for awareness and concern, but unfortunately, the authorities of the Islamic states are neglecting these hostilities," he added.

The Iranian leader’s remarks come at a time of growing conflicts between the country and the Arab states.

Several Arab states in the Middle East and North Africa, led by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, have recently slapped paralysing sanctions on the Gulf state of Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, ordering it to sever its ties with Iran and to shut down the Al Jazeera news network.

Iran has responded by sending food and other resources to the country. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has condemned the move and said Tehran will stand by Qatar’s government.

Pakistan slams US naming Kashmir militant 'terrorist'
[AA.TR] Pakistain on Tuesday rejected as "unjustified" the U.S. decision to declare the chief of the Hizbul Mujahideen group, Syed Salahuddin
...the aging, morbidly obese chief of Hizbul Mujaheddin and the titular head of the United Jihad Council in idyllic Kashmire. Originally owned body and theoretical soul by Jamaat-e-Islami he and his organization are currently controlled by Pakistain's ISI. Salahuddin's hobbies include crocheting doilies shaped like the Taj Mahal, combing his enormous beard, and eating....
, a "global terrorist".

"The designation of individuals supporting the Kashmiri right to self-determination as Death Eaters is completely unjustified," Pakistain’s Foreign Ministry front man Nafees Zakaria said in a statement, adding that the 70-year-old indigenous struggle of Kashmiris in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmire remained legitimate.

"The people of Kashmire cannot be denied the right to self-determination," he added.

The U.S. State Department announcement came ahead of the first ever meeting between President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on Monday.

The State Department in its statement accused Sallahuddin of blocking " the peaceful resolution" to the conflict of Kashmire, and of threatening to turn the valley into "a graveyard of Indian forces".

"The gross and systematic violations of human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
of the Kashmiri people in IOK [Indian-occupied Kashmire] that have been recorded and reported by independent human rights bodies is a reality.

Iraqi Army begins big offensive in Mosul to defeat ISIS for good
[ALMASDARNEWS] Over the past 24 hours, the Iraqi Army has initiated a remarkable pincer offensive in the largely ISIS-held Old City neighborhood of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, ultimately looking to cut the tiny Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. pocket in two by joining forces at the al-Sa’ah Roundabout, a key junction in the heart of the densely populated district.

After liberating the al-Saa church intact, the Iraqi Federal Police secured the al-Zewani Mosque in the southwestern sector of the embattled neighborhood on Tuesday morning after imposing full control over the al-Farooq residential area hours earlier.

With rapid gains finally underway through the narrow streets of the Old City, Iraqi troops also captured around a dozen homemade rocket launchers and a makeshift field hospital where significant batches of pain killers were recovered:

Notably, recent government gains have secured large stretches of the main roads in the Old City; in turn, civilians are able to escape more easily through the humanitarian corridors that are vital to reduce collateral damage.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier...
Amaq Agency released a by now rare video depicting ISIS snuffies amid their last-ditch defense in the battle for the Old City, the last Mosul neighborhood where jihadist belligerents maintain a presence:

In a related event, two ISIS sleeper cells opened fire on coppers in the al-Jazar district (liberated over six months ago) on the eastern bank of the Tigris River on Monday. However,

Egypt's air forces foil arms smuggling attempt in Western Desert
[AlAhram] Egypt's air forces halted an arms smuggling operation to Egypt through the Western Desert, the Egyptian armed forces announced on Tuesday.

According to a statement published on the army spokesperson's official Facebook page, air forces acting on intelligence reports launched a mission on the Egyptian-Libyan border and destroyed 12 (4x4) vehicles carrying weapons, ammunition and explosives.

Egypt's over 1,000 kilometre-long border with Libya has witnessed ongoing arms smuggling since the fall of the Qadaffy regime in 2011.

Ramadan ended with tribal clashes in southern Libya
[Libya Observer] One person was killed and five others maimed in tribal festivities that broke out in the southern Libyan city of Sabha in the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Local sources said gunnies from Tabu tribe exchanged fire with Gadadfa rustics in the City Center Street in Hai Mahdia district at around 1.00 am on Sunday while people were shopping for Eid, causing panic among the shoppers.

"The street was very crowded with Eid shoppers and suddenly the shootout started and people started to scramble and scream," an eyewitness reported.

Sabha Medical Center said a pregnant woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were among the maimed in the random shooting that lasted for several hours before it came to an end.

It is still not clear what caused the fighting, but the city has been plagued with tribal festivities over trivial matters. In November 2016, a monkey sparked deadly festivities between Gadadfa and Awlad Suleiman rustics that left 12 people dead and 25 others maimed.

Tuareq, Tabu, Awlad Suleiman, Awlad Sahil, Magharha, and Gadadfa are the main social components in Sabha.

In March, the Italian government brokered a comprehensive reconciliation agreement between Tabu and Awlad Suleiman tribes in the Italian capital of Rome to end tension between the two warring tribes.

Tom Bossert says the new working group will focus on key cyber issues and encourage international cooperation. He says the partnership is aimed at "stopping adversaries in networks and identifying ways to hold bad actors responsible."

Bossert spoke at Israel's Cyber Week conference in Tel Aviv.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the conference that his country experiences dozens of cyberattacks each month.

He said the government has created a "cyber net" with dozens of companies to work together on security issues. He says Israel is now ready to cooperate with other countries.

Monday's announcement brings together two cybersecurity powers. Netanyahu says Israel attracts roughly one-fifth of global private investment in cyber security.
The Times of Israel lays out the details here.

Nisar concerned as US administration appears to 'speak India's language'
[DAWN] Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
over what he said was the administration of United States (US) President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
'speaking India's language', a day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Trump during an official trip to the US.

In the run-up to the meeting, the US State Department designated Hizbul Mujahideen leader Syed Salahuddin
...the aging, morbidly obese chief of Hizbul Mujaheddin and the titular head of the United Jihad Council in idyllic Kashmire. Originally owned body and theoretical soul by Jamaat-e-Islami he and his organization are currently controlled by Pakistain's ISI. Salahuddin's hobbies include crocheting doilies shaped like the Taj Mahal, combing his enormous beard, and eating....
a global terrorist and slapped sanctions on him ─ a move slammed by the Foreign Office today as 'completely unjustified'.

"It seems as though the blood of Kashmiris in not at all important to the US, and international laws relating to human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
do not apply to Kashmire," Nisar said.

Accusing the Indian government of serious human rights violations in India-held Kashmire, and of trying to paint 'freedom fighters as terrorists', Nisar said that Indian acts should concern every principled nation.

The interior minister said that deliberately overlooking 'the worst kind of state terrorism
... any action taken by a non-Moslem state that constrains the violent impulses of Moslems or their allies ...
' in IHK has not only adversely impacted the values of justice and international principles, but also laid bare the double standards of powers who claim to champion human rights and democratic values.

[Sky News] Over four days in Marawi, Sky News watched the Philippine military carry out repeated air strikes, bombers wheeling overhead and diving towards targets in the city. The fighting is intense and sustained - mortars and helicopters mounted with machine guns are being used, as well as armored personnel carriers and ground troops.

Philippine forces train to combat militants in jungle conditions, but here they are facing urban warfare, fighting street-to-street, at times house-to-house. We saw armored vehicles reinforced with planks of wood in an improvised attempt to withstand anti-tank weaponry and rocket-propelled grenades fired by the rebels.

Drone footage from inside rebel-held territory showed a mosque believed to be used as a base - local fighters are also said to have knowledge of tunnel networks and bomb shelters beneath the city. The mosque has not been targeted by the military, but whole streets around it have been flattened. We saw large fires burning in the ruins.

One commanding officer told us some of the trapped civilians are being used as slaves and orderlies by the rebels, with some being forced to wear black robes and act as human shields. Lt Col Christopher Tampus, commander of 1st Infantry Battalion said, "Those hostages are being dressed, we have some visuals of this. They are being dressed with a black-like robe. We believe these are civilians because we can easily see how they move."

We set out to reach a family we had heard was still in touch with relatives trapped inside, but as we ran across the street to their house a bullet landed less than a meter from our team. It appeared we were being targeted.

We planned to stay in the building until the threat outside subsided, but then a fire started. It was not clear whether deliberately or not. We had to get out, but the only way was back across the same street. We lined up to make the run, one at a time, into our vehicle, crouching low inside until we had reached relative safety.

We passed a dead dog, abandoned in the road, and black graffiti as a reminder of what they were running from. "WELCOME ISIS!" one scrawled message read. Another had a picture of a skull and cross-bones beneath an ISIS slogan.

We spoke to the uncle of a young man killed fighting for the Maute group, who told us there are many more like him. He said, "In my village, the number of recruited were 10. Actually there are lots of them that have already been killed in the fighting in Marawi. There are a lot because Abdullah Maute targeted Cotabato City. He convinced a lot of teenagers..."

On Sunday, a temporary ceasefire was declared to mark the end of Ramadan, and allow a humanitarian pause. A delegation of religious leaders and volunteers, armed only with megaphones, headed out across the front line to try to negotiate the release of some of the trapped civilians. But as we waited for news, a number of shots were fired into our street, forcing everyone to take cover behind parked cars.

Three hours later, the rescue teams re-emerged, bringing with them a 14-month old girl and her mother, father, grandfather, and aunt. The family had hidden in their employer's basement for 33 days. The 14-month-old girl and her family spent 33 days hidden in a basement

His daughter-in-law had given birth while they were trapped, but the baby did not survive. The teams also brought out the body of a 72-year-old man, who had suffered a stroke, and died before he could be reached.

Even as the rescued family was being taken to hospital, the fighting in Marawi resumed. The military insists the rebel leadership is crumbling and victory is irreversible but declined to say when it might come.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan but certain remote districts of it have witnessed growing insurgency mainly led by Taliban and ISIS during the recent years.
