Nancy Pelosi complains Trump not visiting countries in alphabetical order
Has Nancy Pelosi completely lost her mind? Or does she just have to complain about everything President Trump does?
"I'll take 'losing her mind' for $2000, Alex"
During a press briefing on Thursday, the House Minority Leader criticized the president's choice of visiting Saudi Arabia first during his inaugural foreign trip.

"I thought it was unusual for the President of the United States to go to Saudi Arabia first. Saudi Arabia!" Pelosi said.

"It wasn't even alphabetical. I mean, Saudi Arabia."

The Democrat leader contrasted Trump's visit with George W. Bush first visiting Mexico, and Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama visiting Canada first.
"Which were alphabetical! I mean, Saudi Arabia!"
"Our friends and neighbors," she said. "What was the decision-making process to go to Saudi Arabia first? That is a question that I have," she said.

If Trump were to begin visiting foreign countries by alphabetical order, he would first visit Afghanistan, followed by Albania, Algeria, Andorra and Angola.

Is Nancy Pelosi really advocating for a Sesame Street strategy to boost foreign relations?

ISIS executes three of its own fighters on high treason charges over deserting Raqqa
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Islamic State leadership is cracking down on fighters trying to desert the caliphate after Kurdish troops have reached the doorstep of Raqqa city.

On Monday, ISIS reportedly ordered the immediate execution of three of its own members for trying to escape the battlefield in northern Raqqa by abandoning their posts, accusing them of “high treason” and disloyalty to the Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.

The three unidentified ISIS members were executed by a firing squad in downtown Raqqa on Monday afternoon while hundreds of locals witnessed the ordeal.

31 Maute group members killed in Marawi gunbattles
[NEWS.ABS-CBN] At least 31 members of the Maute terrorist group have been killed in ongoing gunbattles in Marawi City, the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) said on Thursday.
Has it occurred to anyone but me to wonder how anyone who doesn't sympathize with these Islamic ani could stand being a Moslem?
In a statement, WESMINCOM said 13 more Maute group members were killed in a 2-hour shootout Thursday morning as government forces cleared two bridges heading toward Bangulo, Marawi.
There's good and there's evil, and there's Good and both al-Qaeda and the Islamic State have proven themselves to be Evil. So how could anyone of any sort of rudimentary conscience stand to be associated with them?
"As of this report, 31 gunnies were already neutralized and 6 high-powered firearms were recovered by the troops," said Brig. Gen. Rolly Bautista, head of Joint Task Force ZamPeLan.
They've proven themselves to actually be worse than the adherents of Moloch, who after all only sacrificed their first-born.
"Our troops are doing deliberate operations in areas we believe are still occupied or infested with the terrorists' presence. I specifically ordered our soldiers to locate and destroy these gunnies as soon as possible," he said.
These guys adhere to no standards of behavior dating from later than the approximate end of the Dark Ages -- making one wonder if they really did end.
Six more soldiers died in fresh festivities earlier Thursday, bringing the corpse count on the government side to 13, following the death of five soldiers and two coppers earlier in the week.
Attila the Hun was actually a pretty reasonable fellow in comparison. He could meet with Pope Leo and correspond with Honorius and Alla Placida with Aetius. He could even adhere to agreements.
Meanwhile,
...back at the secret hideout, Scarface Al sneeringly put his proposition to little Nell...
16 civilians were rescued in clearing operations in Barangay Kilala.
I suppose they could be in the same category as Ghengis Khan -- or Mohammad and his Merry Men.
"We once more call on the people in the community to join us fight terrorism. Provide your security forces with information that will contribute to the neutralization of these agents of deaths and destruction," said Lt. Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., commander of WESMINCOM.
Knowing that sort of thing would make me want to become a Lutheran or a Rosicrucian or a Zoroastrian.

But that's probably just Islamophobia on my part.

Syrian Army annihilates ISIS in Homs, reopens all roads between Palmyra and Damascus
[ALMASDARNEWS] On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) unleashed thousands of footsoldiers and hundreds of military vehicles in a massive joint push which ultimately linked up government forces on the Palmyra frontier with those stationed on the provincial border between Homs and Rif Dimashq.

With all roads linking Damascus and Palmyra now under government control for the first time since 2014, the SAA was able to reopen the M90, M53 and M45 highways today. The rapid coordinated offensive against the Islamic State

represents the single largest advance by any faction across Syria in 2017.

Effectively, ISIS has been forced to withdraw entirely from central Homs, conceding control of some 3,000 square kilometers in the space of 48 hours. Notably, the SAA advance has reduced the caliphate’s size by several percentage points.

Syrian Army scores huge victory as tanks penetrate deep behind ISIS lines in Homs

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Thursday morning, mechanized elements of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated a massive chunk of mountainous territory southwest of Palmyra, virtually expelling ISIS from its vulnerable pocket east of the predominately Christian city of al-Qaryatayn.

Following already huge gains in eastern Homs over the previous 48 hours, the SAA captured numerous strategic sites, including Bardah town, the entire al-Sawwanah area, the Zaqaqiyat Khalil mountains and the key junction town of al-Busyrah.

Squadrons over Russian helicopters supported the advance, hunting down ISIS murderous Moslems who frantically withdrew from the aforementioned points as dozens of SAA tanks rolled into the region, completely shattering their long-standing defensive line.

155 militants surrender to Syrian Army troops in northern Homs

[ALMASDARNEWS] At least 155 Lions of Islam surrendered themselves to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern countryside of the Homs Governorate on Wednesday.

The 155 Lions of Islam surrendered to the Syrian Arab Army outside the towns of Talbiseh, Houla, and al-Rastan, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

All of the Lions of Islam that surrendered to the government forces in northern Hama, Wednesday, will be eligible for amnesty in order to regularize their status in the country.

Duterte deploys commandos, attack helicopters to retake Marawi from ISIS-linked fighters
[RT] Philippines special forces launched an attack on Islamist krazed killer positions in Marawi City early Thursday morning in a bid to retake the city from the ISIS-affiliated Maute group. The operation involved ground troops supported by attack helicopters.

"We're confronting maybe 30 to 40 remaining from the local terrorist group," said Jo-Ar Herrera, front man for the military's First Infantry Regiment, as cited by Rooters.

"The military is conducting precise, surgical operations to flush them out... The situation is very fluid and movements are dynamic because we wanted to out-step and outmaneuver them."

Ground troops engaged Maute fighters ‐ affiliated to IS (Islamic State

, formerly ISIS/ISIS) ‐ while attack helicopters bombarded their positions from above with heavy machine gun fire and rockets.

Some 18 rebels and six soldiers were killed in the operation according to an army spokesperson cited by Rooters.

RT reached out to Marawi resident and eyewitness Chico Dimaro Usman who has captured the carnage in detail, uploading images and video to Facebook.

The air raids continued throughout the morning into mid-afternoon but Usman captured both raids on camera.

RT has corroborated that the videos were taken in the region through comparisons of local topography in the videos with imagery from Google Earth.

Local weather reports confirm roughly 90 percent cloud cover in the area around Marawi City which matches the footage taken by Usman.

RT obtained private statements from Usman confirming that he is in the area. Out of concern for his and his family’s safety, RT is not disclosing his exact location at this time.

So far, a total of 46 people including 15 security forces and 31 Maute fighters have been killed in Marawi City reports Rooters.

Syrian Army foils one of the largest ISIS assaults ever on Deir Ezzor Airbase
[ALMASDARNEWS] Last night, hundreds of Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. bandidos Lion of Islams began a series of attacks across government-held districts of Deir Ezzor and its isolated airbase, located south of the historic provincial capital.

With most of the assault centered around the eastern perimeter of Deir Ezzor Airbase and the al-Huwyqah neighborhood, the SAA was able to hold its ground despite facing one of the largest attacks this year which continued non-stop for some 10 hours.

During the lengthy overnight festivities, ground units of the SAA used anti-tank missiles to destroy two Islamic State BMP-1 armored vehicles, one on the al-Malha street and the other in the embattled Huwyqah suburb.

Heaps of ISIS bandidos Lion of Islams were killed during the failed assault although the corpses were too many to properly count. Around 10,000 jihadists faceless myrmidons have been killed by the SAA’s garrison in Deir Ezzor since 2012.

Upon intel receiving from spies living in ISIS-held residential areas of the city, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) targeted a jihadist operations room in the al-Ardi district where many ISIS commanders may have been killed by an air raid on Thursday morning.

SAA artillery units also heavily shelled ISIS supply lines and gathering points across rearguard positions, striking bandidos Lion of Islams at the al-Matar district, al-Arfi district, Panorama bridge, al-Baghiliyah town, the cemetery area, west of the al-Sannouf hill and on the eastern axis of Deir Ezzor Airbase.

ISIS also pounded government-held neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city with missiles, killing two civilians and injuring at least ten non-combattants according to local media.

US appeals court says Trump’s travel ban motivated by 'religious intolerance'
[RT] President Donald Trump’s travel ban unfairly discriminated against Muslims, a federal appeals court ruled, upholding most of the previously issued injunction against it.

Trump’s executive order from January 27 “drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination,” wrote Chief Judge Roger Gregory of the Virginia-based US Appeals Court in the 4th circuit.

In a 10-3 decision, the majority of judges ruled that they were “unconvinced” the executive order was motivated by national security concerns rather than a “Muslim ban.”

#8  The same argument could have been used to nullify Obama's (but not Clinton's and GWB's) waivers of the Jerusalem Embassy Act.

Obama supported the notion of a Muslim Jerusalem in in Cairo speech by approvingly citing the Sura Al-Izra which states that the Muslim(!) prophets Moses, Jesus and Mohammed joined peacefully in prayer in Jerusalem.

Also he committed the US government to a general defence of Islamic doctrine in his "The Future Must Not Belong ..." speech before the UN.

Applying the appeals court's standard Obama's waivers should have been null and void because they were political moves establishing a state religion.

Former Greek PM Lucas Papademos hurt in Athens bomb attack
Anarchists, Communists, or fascists? I can't imagine Moslem colonists would be interested in a former politician. Besides, this wasn't showy enough for them.
[RT] Former Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos suffered burns to his hands and legs in a bomb attack in his car, according to reports. His driver was also injured in the Athens blast.

Local media outlets reported on social media that the bomb was contained in an envelope, however this has not been confirmed by officials.

Police said the explosion occurred when the car was travelling between Patission and Marnis Street in central Athens at 6:30pm local time, reported Ekathimerini.

Local media didn’t confirm if anyone else was travelling in the car along with Papademos and his driver.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Pakistani gets six years in US prison
[DAWN] A dual Pakistani and British citizen has been sentenced to six years in a US federal court for selling false remedies for incurable diseases.

Mustafa Hasan Arif, 37, collected more than $12.8 million by selling his drugs to more than 100,000 victims around the globe. He had established more than 1,500 websites to hawk his merchandise of false hopes that he said could cure many incurable diseases, such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and emphysema.

Prosecutors said Arif used falsified cure rates, false clinical research and fabricated testimonials to persuade his victims to buy the drugs. In October 2016, Arif pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud. More than 93,000 people purchased his drugs in the United States alone.

Arif told the court that he provided his customers with herbal remedies that he truly believes in, but the judge said he showed little remorse for his actions.

Two Taliban hanged for role in Peshawar school attack
[DAWN] Two Pakistani Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
were executed on Wednesday for their involvement in the 2014 terrorist attack on a school in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, which claimed the lives of over 145 people, mostly children.

The army said that military courts had sentenced the two bandidos Lions of Islam -- Attaullah and Taj Mohammad -- to death for their role in the dastardly attack.

Pakistain has executed nearly 450 people, mostly convicted criminals, since it lifted a moratorium on the death penalty following the attack on the Peshawar school.

ISIS sets up checkpoints across Marawi, 80 Philippine soldiers killed
[ALMASDARNEWS] New details have emerged regarding the ongoing battle for Marawi, a predominately Sunni city in the southern Philippines which is home to over 200,000 residents and witnessed a large-scale ISIS insurgency on Thursday.

According to Amaq Agency, some 70 soldiers of the Philippine Armed Forces have been killed in the battle for Marawi since Tuesday while an additional 10 were killed in an ambush on two armored vehicles patrolling the Jolo municipality on the island of Jolo.

In contrast, the Philippine Army said they had only sustained 8 deaths and 31 injuries to their forces while 13 ISIS gunnies had been killed. Meanwhile,

the Phillipine Air Force conducted dozens of pinpoints Arclight airstrikes over the city on Thursday.

Two killed in a renewed Inter-clan battle in Somalia
[SHABELLENEWS] At least two people were reported to have been killed, and several others maimed in a renewed Inter-clan fighting in central Somalia on Thursday morning.

The fighting broke out between two armed clan Death Eaters hailing from the rival Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
and Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
states at Balli-Busle area, located east of Mudug region, according to the reports.

The tension has been simmering in the rural villages in the volatile region over the past few months, as the warring local clans in deadlock over grazing land and bore-holes.

There was an effort by the elders to defuse the escalating violence in Balli-Busle settlement.

Nearly 200 arrested in California in new immigration raids
[AlAhram] Nearly 200 people have been locked away
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
by federal agents in southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, as part of a five-day operation targeting immigrants colonists convicted of crimes or in the country illegally, officials said Thursday.

The crackdown, which ended Wednesday and was spearheaded by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), focused on people with prior criminal offenses including for drug trafficking, rape and domestic violence, authorities said.

"Operations like this are emblematic of the vital work ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers do every day, seeking to locate, arrest, and ultimately deport at-large convicted criminals and other immigration runaways who pose a threat to public safety," David Marin, the ERO director in Los Angeles, said in a statement.

"By taking these individuals off the streets and removing them from the country, we're making our communities safer for everyone," he added.

The raids took place amid a surge in such operations since President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
took office in January vowing to deport as many as three million undocumented immigrants colonists with criminal records.

A similar large-scale crackdown in February in at least half a dozen states netted hundreds of undocumented immigrants colonists including some without criminal records, prompting an uproar among rights groups.

Authorities said the latest crackdown led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Salvadoran national convicted of rape in California and a previously deported 51-year-old Mexican man who had been convicted of cocaine trafficking.

More than two dozen of those arrested also had been convicted of domestic violence and driving under the influence.

The suspects -- 177 men and 11 women -- included nationals from 11 countries.

The majority -- 146 -- are from Mexico while two are from Russia and one from Cambodia.

Most of the arrests took place in the Los Angeles area.

According to federal authorities, more than 41,000 people have been arrested by ICE since Trump signed an executive order in January strengthening immigration enforcement policies.

The number represents a 40 percent increase over the same period in 2016.

Bill and Hillary Clinton Talk ‘Fun Deficits' at Star-Studded Charity Gala
Hillary Clinton, special guest at Tuesday night’s SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala, knew just the right antidote for her trying political year.

"I’m looking for some serious fun," she confessed to the crowd gathered inside New York’s Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers. "I have a big fun deficit."

Clinton offered her services as a counselor for the global community of camps -- founded by late actor Paul Newman in 1988, to serve children with serious illnesses -- and her personnel suggestions didn’t stop there. "I know of a really good guy who might also fit in when it comes to serious fun. I’m all for hiring guys for the right jobs," she added, to much cheer.

Out stepped Bill Clinton, another eager counselor volunteer. "This is one of those jobs, unlike some of them, where it helps to have experience," he joked, before addressing his wife. "Having been counseling with you now for over 40 years, I’d be perfect for these kids because it doesn’t bother me anymore if nobody takes my advice!"

on scene, just after the crash. He's charged with with assault with a deadly weapon, destruction of property of another, and possession of stolen property.

Terrified employees witnessed the 18-wheeler intentionally backed into the entrance of the Bunny Ranch.

"It sounded like a bomb went off in here," said employee, Jenny Jade. "Everything was all shaking."

"The reaction was 'what do we do,'"said owner, Dennis Hof. "We immediately called 911."

Brandt allegedly stole the big rig from his former employer, Central Transport in Sparks. The company tells us he was angry for being fired in February. Managers found the front door of their facility smashed in Thursday morning and a truck stolen.

Hof says he has no connections to Brandt, but believes he wanted to harm his business for the notoriety.

"My guess is he knew it would be worldwide news if he rammed his truck into a brothel with 35 hot girls in it that is world famous."

Police officers killed by separate bomb blasts in Kenya
[SHABELLENEWS] Eight Kenyan security officers were killed in two separate roadside kaboomings in eastern Kenya on Wednesday, bigwigs said, and Somali Islamist snuffies claimed both attacks.

... the personification of Somali state failure...
"Unfortunately I lost five of my security officers including my personal bodyguard in an attack on my convoy," Mandera Governor Ali Roba said in a Facebook post.

Al-Shabaab claimed both that attack and an earlier one further south in Liboi, also close to the border.

There, three coppers were killed when their truck hit an improvised bomb (IED), North Eastern regional commissioner Mohamud Ali Saleh told Rooters.

"All the dead officers are from one work station," he said. "From past incidences, it is easy to see that even this one is the work of our enemy, al-Shabaab. They plant these IEDs to target our security people."

Bangladesh
US to cut financial aid, stop military support to Bangladesh
[Dhaka Tribune] The Trump administration, in a proposed US State Department budget, has recommended the reduction financial assistance and military support for Bangladesh.

The proposal has already been sent for the approval of Congress.

In 2016, Bangladesh received $210m in funds from the US. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
the State Department has proposed to cut the amount to $138m for 2018.

In addition, the proposed budget has recommended that the US stop all military funding to Bangladesh, having provided $2m for the purpose in 2016. However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
the proposal does include an allocation of $1.5m for military training and education in Bangladesh.

The US government in the budget also proposed that $95m be allocated to help continue development of the democratic system and economic growth in Bangladesh.

The move corresponds with the electoral pledge of US President Donald J Trump, as he had said that he would cut funds for foreign countries if elected.

Furthermore, the US State Department has recommended an allocation of $3m as anti-terrorism assistance to help Bangladesh contain militancy.

In 2016, Bangladesh received $79m in funds for its health sector, while the proposed budget for next year will be cut to $36.7m. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the amount is still the highest granted to any South Asian countries, with India receiving just $29.6m. Nepal and Pakistain hold the third and fourth positions on the list.

The US government has also proposed an allocation of $22.5m to curb the maternal mortality rate and ensure healthcare services for children under five.

region on the border with Israel and Jordan.

A new batch of pictures released by the ISIS franchise group Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid on Wednesday shows its fighters monitoring rebel forward positions and setting up trenches in the region.

The ISIS group said its holy warriors were on high alert around Nawa, a large rebel-held town on the outskirts of the Islamic State enclave.

Should its first line of defense collapse, Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid is able to fall back to its rearguard defenses along the February frontline. Rebel forces have been unable to break through this region ever since the ISIS Death Eaters defected in 2014.

Apart from being anchored on the border with Israel and Jordan, Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid rose to fame over enforcing brutal sharia punishments on its population, including chopping off hands and feet.

On the West Side, two other boys, 14 and 17, were shot around 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the Little Village neighborhood, apparently with a rifle, police said.

Chicago only major U.S. city to lose population from 2015 to 2016
reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
was the only city among the nation's 20 largest to lose population in 2016 -- and it lost nearly double the number of residents as the year before, according to newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

It's the city's third consecutive year of population loss. Chicago's population fell by 8,638 residents between 2015 and 2016, to 2,704,958. The year before, it declined by 4,934.

The population of the greater Chicago area, defined by the Census Bureau as the city and suburbs extending into Wisconsin and Indiana, is also declining. Numbers made available in March showed a drop of 19,570 residents in 2016 -- the greatest loss of any metropolitan area in the country.

Illinois' population fell by more than any other state in 2016, down 37,508 people, according to census data released in December.

Boy, 12, allegedly attacked 80-year-old woman in Brooklyn
[PIX11] A 12-year-old boy is in jug for allegedly punching an 80-year-old woman in the face and trying to set her on fire during an unprovoked attack outside her Brooklyn home, police said Wednesday.

The child approached the woman as she sat in front of her West Seventh Street home in Gravesend on Saturday, according to police.

He then allegedly punched her in the face with a closed fist, used a metal rod on her, and tried to light her coat on fire as she sat outside her house.

The boy has since been taken into custody, and faces charges of assault and menacing, police said.

PIX11 obtained surveillance video of the boy taken inside a nearby Chinese-food restaurant. PIX11 has blurred his face because he is a minor.

The owner of China Restaurant Inc. on 86th Street described the child as a menace.

"He asked the customers for their money," said the owner. The boy on Saturday went on a spitting rampage before he stole $15 from the tip jar, he said.

Iran says it built 3rd underground ballistic missile factory, vows to increase capabilities
[RT] Iran has built its third underground ballistic missile production factory, the head of the elite Revolutionary Guards airspace division said, adding that the Islamic Theocratic Republic will continue to "forcefully" develop its missile capabilities.

"Iran’s third underground factory has been built by the Guards in recent years... We will continue to further develop our missile capabilities forcefully," Amirali Hajizadeh said, as quoted by Fars News Agency.

He went on to state that "the next missile to be produced is a surface-to-surface missile."

Hajizadeh also said that "it is natural that our enemies America and the Zionist regime (Israel) are angry with our missile program because they want Iran to be in a weak position."

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has taken a hardline stance against Iran since taking office in January. During a trip to the Middle East earlier this week, he blamed it for being the main source of instability in the region.

In response, Tehran accused Trump of "repetitive and baseless claims," saying he was trying to spread "Iranophobia."

Trump put Iran "on notice" in February, stating on Twitter that he wouldn't be as "kind" to the Islamic Theocratic Republic as his predecessor Barack Obama
I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...

Terror supporting websites scrubbed
[RT] Egypt and Bahrain have blocked news websites, including those run by Qatar

and the United Arab Emirates, in response to statements made against the Saudis that were published by the Qatar state news agency after an alleged hack.

Egypt banned as many as 21 websites on Wednesday, including the main website of Al Jazeera, Rooters reports, citing MENA news agency and security sources.

"A senior security source said 21 websites have been blocked inside Egypt for having content that supports terrorism and extremism as well (as) publishing lies," MENA reported, adding that the websites would face legal action.

The websites affected are believed to be affiliated with the outlawed Moslem Brüderbund or financed by Qatar, Rooters said citing its sources.

While only five websites, including Al Jazeera, were named by the security sources, other Egypt-focused news websites, hosted abroad and believed to be supported by Qatari authorities, were also blocked. Other news outlets were reportedly inaccessible on Wednesday, including Huffington Post Arabic and Mada Masr, an independent Egyptian investigative online newspaper.

Military force is the solution in Libya even if a million Libyans got killed
[Libya Observer] A member of the House of Representatives, based in Tobruk eastern Libya, has voiced a stark odd statement on air this week, saying that the UN-backed dialogue is nothing for their political party anymore.

Dignity Operation opponents are all infidels and non-Muslims, MP Ali Al-Tekbali said on TV
"We believe only in military institutions and military solutions for the current conflict." HoR member, Ali al-Gaydi said on a Libyan TV channel.

Al-Gaydi unethically enough added on air that his government - eastern government - would rather use force and kill a million Libyans in order to see two million others living in luxury.

In a separate TV interview with another HoR member - Ali al-Tekbali - also slammed the dialogue as a waste of time saying they in the eastern government have lost everything in the dialogue sessions over the last two years.

"So all what we have left is to use military force and fight those who are backing up the dialogue. They are all infidels and non-Moslems." al-Tekbali said on TV.

He added that they in the HoR have now got rid of the "lie of February 17 revolution," adding that the only solution in Libya is the military, which will determine Libya's fate once and for all.

Snowden Documents Reveal Scope of Secrets Exposed to China in 2001 Spy Plane Incident
[TheIntercept] In April 2001, just months before the 9/11 attacks gripped the nation, a U.S. Navy spy plane flying a routine reconnaissance mission over the South China Sea was struck by a People’s Liberation Army fighter jet that veered aggressively close. The mid-air collision killed the Chinese pilot, crippled the Navy plane, and forced it to make an emergency landing at a Chinese airfield, touching off a tense international showdown for nearly two weeks while China refused to release the two-dozen American crew members and damaged aircraft.

For more than a decade, U.S. officials have refused to say what secrets China might have gleaned from the plane. Two years after the incident, journalists saw a redacted U.S. military report, which revealed that although crew members had jettisoned documents out an emergency hatch as they flew over the sea and had managed to destroy some signals-collection equipment before the plane fell into the hands of the Chinese, it was "highly probable" China had still obtained classified information from the plane. Attempts by journalists and academics to learn more over the years have been unsuccessful.

But now, a comprehensive Navy-NSA report completed three months after the collision, and included among documents obtained by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013, finally reveals extensive details about the incident, the actions crew members took to destroy equipment and data, and the secrets that were exposed to China -- which turned out to be substantial though not catastrophic.
Long article.

Subsequently, Kurdish forces have now set their eyes on the strategic Baath dam, a prize Kurdish troops have fire control over.

Bay Area college professor used U-shaped bike lock in beating, police say
Alleged Antifa bike lock attacker Eric Clanton held in Berkeley jail
...
Eric Clanton remained in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail at Berkeley Jail on Thursday and is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Friday at Oakland’s Wiley W. Manuel courthouse. He was arrested on three counts of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon that isn’t a firearm and assault causing great bodily injury.
In a statement Thursday, police acknowledged that video of the incident, captured by onlookers and posted on social media, helped them identify Clanton as the suspect behind "several violent assaults" that happened April 15 during the demonstration at Civic Center Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Police confirmed Clanton can be seen in videos hitting people in the head with a U-shaped bicycle lock. Three people received "significant injuries" because of the beatings, police said.

Homicide detectives handled the investigation because of the seriousness of the assaults, police said. Investigators served warrants Wednesday at unspecified addresses in San Leandro and Oakland, the latter of which is where authorities took Clanton into custody.

He surrendered without incident, police said.

In North Korea, the US Advertises Its Intentions
[GeopoliticalFutures] One of the most important things to remember is that the North Koreans are neither ignorant nor psychotic. Strange as it may sound, ignorant psychotics don’t build nuclear weapons and missiles. Rational actors who feel cornered do. Washington rightly takes the threat seriously; it wouldn’t be deploying its military so measuredly were that not the case. Going to war with someone you regard as a fool is the most foolish thing you can do,
Not necessarily. In some cases not going to war is more foolish, regardless of one's opinion of the other team's wisdom and intelligence...
and there is no evidence that that would be the case with North Korea. It’s always best to overestimate your enemy.

In Washington, many will claim that if President Donald Trump orders an attack, he will have done so only for political reasons.
In Washington, many are idiots.
But such accusations ignore U.S. policy on North Korea, which has stood stalwart for more than a decade. (Barack Obama even warned Trump that North Korea would be his biggest challenge in foreign policy.)
(Golly. Because Barack Obama was ever right about anything.)
It was inevitable that Pyongyang’s strategy would bring it close to, or push it over, the red line. It just so happens that it did so under Trump. This is not a defense of Trump but a defense of our belief at Geopolitical Futures that imperatives, not personalities, dictate the actions of states.

"Despite our attempt to raise concerns and seek explanation from the Government about the planned destruction, bulldozers and demolition vehicles, assisted by armed military forces, have reportedly started on 10 May to destroy buildings and homes in the walled historic neighborhood and in other areas of Awamia, causing injury, deaths and material losses to the civilians residents," the group of UN experts said.

"Historic buildings have been irremediably burned down and damaged by the use of various weapons by the military, forcing residents out of their homes and of the neighborhood, fleeing for their lives," noted the Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, Karima Bennoune.

Islamic State infighting leaves senior leader dead in Kirkuk

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
members in Kirkuk have left one senior area ruler dead, an official was quoted saying on Thursday as the province awaits liberation of IS havens.

Alsumaria News quoted Sadeq al-Husseini, chairman of the security committee at Kirkuk council, saying that the "mayor of Diyala", who was temporarily appointed by supreme leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, was killed with two other companions when members engaged in an infighting near the group’s stronghold town of Hawija, southwest of Kirkuk.

Husseini said the fight was a part of a series of recent disputes among IS leaderships in Hawija, adding that senior members have traded accusations of causing defeats and loss of members to security forces in Mutaibija, an area on the borders between Diyala and Salahuddin.

Most of Islamic State’s so-called "Diyala Province" leaders have stationed in Hawija for the past two years after security forces took over the group’s havens there in early 2015.

On Tuesday, Alsumaria News quoted an official source in Kirkuk saying that IS had opened alternative headquarters for its so-called "Nineveh State", "Dijlah State", "Salahuddin State" and "Diyala State" in Hawija. He said big shots had entered the town in armored vehicles after having fled battles with security forces in Nineveh. The source added that IS murderous Moslems cut a number of main roads and subjected them to a curfew.

"Hawija has now become the group’s main haven, with members split between Hawija and Tal Afar an Baaj (west of Nineveh)," said the source.

Death Eaters are redeploying at villages located on the borders between Diyala and Salahuddin, a local official said, warning that the fact puts areas recaptured by security forces at danger.

Udai al-Khadran, mayor of al-Khales town, north of Baqubah, told Alsumaria News that IS redeployed its fighters at the villages of Boubakr, Boawad and Boutaraz near the borders with Salahuddin. The three villages had been empty of residents for three years, Khadran said, adding that they had not seen a security presence for all that period.

According to the official, the three villages enjoy a "strategic location", and represent "a direct threat" to neighboring villages and nearby liberated areas.

has been on high alert after three of its headquarters were attacked in central Baaj, western Nineveh, while the group’s emir was reportedly killed local sources from Nineveh province said.

"Islamic State fighters in Baaj have been on high alert. Movements in the eastern and northern sides of the city were banned after three of its headquarters were attacked," the source who preferred anonymity, told AlSumaria News on Thursday.

"Chaotic situation has been witnessed in Baaj since the morning. Dozens of IS bully boyz took to main streets," the source added.

"Semi-confirmed news mentioned killing of ’emir of Baaj’ in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
as an Arclight airstrike targeted the group bully boyz on an agricultural road, 10 KM away from Baaj," the source added.

"Several companions of the emir were killed and injured due to the fierce Arclight airstrike, which also left five vehicles burnt," according to the source.

Close to the Iraqi-Iranian borders, Baaj is considered an important IS stronghold.

While major offensives take place in Mosul by Iraqi troops, backed by U.S.-led coalition, other offensives are launched by the paramilitary troops of al-Hashd al-Shaabi to liberate neighboring regions in Nineveh province.

On Wednesday evening, the paramilitary troops (Popular Mobilization Units) launched a second phase of operations launched earlier this month to complete the liberation of villages in the vicinity of Qairawan, freed on Tuesday, ahead of advancing toward Baaj, west of Mosul city.

An offensive was launched by PMUs on May 12, which resulted in clearing of Qairawan region, a main Islamic State bastion in west of Mosul which links between Tal Afar town and the Syrian borders, from IS bully boyz on Tuesday.

Indian national Uzma returns home from Pakistan following court orders
[DAWN] Uzma, an Indian national who claimed she had been forced to marry a Pak man at gunpoint in Buner earlier in May, returned to her home country via the Wagah border on Thursday, a day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave her permission to do so.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took to Twitter to welcome the 22-year-old back to India.

"Welcome home India's daughter. I am sorry for all that you have gone through," Swaraj wrote.

Indian Deputy High Commissioner J P Singh saw Uzma off in Islamabad and she was escorted to Wagah border crossing with strict security.

Uzma had filed a petition in the IHC seeking repatriation to India on the grounds that her daughter from an earlier marriage was a thalassaemia patient and she needed to see her.

"This time, we have clearer picture of what happened compared to the first day [na] hindi natin totally grasp or plot the locations of the other holy warriors... Where they did atrocities in a group of three or five and you thought they are too many. They burned and hid and fired and hid," Petinglay said.

"They tried to paint the scenario that they have seized major areas in Marawi utilizing videos and photos spread on the social media," she added.

Many of the initial reports from Marawi City on Tuesday were from residents posting photos and videos on social media. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
by Tuesday night, media was able to reach Mayor Majul Gadamra as well as provincial and Autonomous Region in Moslem Mindanao officials for updates.

'Propaganda'
Petinglay claimed the Maute group initially succeeded in its propaganda propaganda campaign, with many social media users unwittingly reposted the visual materials showing the forces of Evil on the streets brandishing their guns and black flags.

"Because of that those who repost the unverified source of videos and photos unknowingly helped fan out the propaganda of the Maute terrorists," Petinglay said.

But the military said they now have a clearer picture what is happening and where on the third day of operations.

Petinglay said troops are now concentrating on particular areas where the forces of Evil are holed up. She said residents who decided to stay behind have been reporting on the positions of the terrorists.

Aside from regular troops, elite operators from the Special Operations Command have been deployed to deal with the Maute forces of Evil in close-quarter combat.

She added operations are now easier since residents have evacuated areas where the forces of Evil are.

"During the first day, one of the challenges to us was the troops could not just penetrate the place where you believe they are there because there were civilians and the possible collateral damage," Petinglay said.

'Maute isolated'
The military also assured the public that the Maute forces of Evil are isolated and will not be able to slip out with residents who have been streaming out of the city.

She said all routes going out from Marawi have been secured and evacuees are being carefully checked for forces of Evil pretending to be civilians.

Casualties on the government side are five soldiers killed and 32 others maimed. Security forces have said they have killed 13 Maute forces of Evil and an undetermined number of maimed.

Petinglay said ground forces believe the Maute group has not managed to smuggle Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
leader Isnilon Hapilon out of the city.

Hapilon, said to be the recognized Islamic State of Iraq and Syria's leader in Philippines, was the main target of police and military operations on Tuesday that has triggered the fighting in the capital of Lanao del Sur.

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared martial law in Mindanao in response to the festivities.

Women’s voting rights
It doesn't occur to them to void an election if there's less than a certain percentage of women voting.
[DAWN] ILLEGAL agreements among certain political parties or candidates have routinely barred women in certain areas from contesting elections and voting in this country. In a long-awaited development, legal protections for women’s electoral rights were recently instituted with amendments to sections 78 and 103AAA of the Representation of the People Act, 1976, thereby empowering the Election Commission of Pakistain to disqualify candidates who prevent women from voting. This is a significant step, especially when female disenfranchisement is routine in remote areas of KP and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
. Tabled by Senator Sherry Rehman as the Representation of the People [Amendment Bill, 2017], this law also allows the ECP to declare an election void, calling for a repoll in constituencies where women have been stopped from voting. Under the amended section 103AAA, the ECP can conduct summary inquiries when it gets reports of election irregularities, declaring polls in such constituencies void. Appeals against the ECP’s decisions can be filed in the Supreme Court.

Given that these amendments allow the ECP to counter the patriarchal traditions forming the core of such unforgiveable and discriminatory behaviour, the law’s implementation is expected. It should have no excuse not to nullify poll results in constituencies that bar women voters. The ECP must start by making inquiries into last week’s Shangla by-election where women voters were stopped. Moreover, political parties should be penalised for forcibly keeping women away from the poll process. The belief in many conservative areas that women’s duties revolve around their home, and not outside, is indicative of misogyny, and shows up exclusionary and anti-women practices at all levels. Furthermore, in the run-up to the next general election, a bill pending in parliament allowing for repolling at polling stations or even entire constituencies if less than 10pc of registered women voters cast their ballot, must be passed. The state must make it clear that interfering in women’s electoral rights will not be tolerated.

Hezbollah supporters set Lebanese minefield alight near northern Israeli border town
[IsraelTimes] Explosions heard in north; no injuries reported; IDF soldiers said to disperse crowd marking 17 years since Israeli withdrawal from Leb

Supporters of Lebanese terror group Hezbollah marking the anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Leb 17 years ago set fire to a field along the Israel-Leb border near the northern Israeli town of Metulla on Thursday, setting off several mines.

Explosions were heard in the area as Israel Defense Forces responded to the incident, Israel Radio reported.

Soldiers were said to have dispersed the crowd on the other side of the border, apparently by firing shots into the air. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

A video from the scene posted by an Israel Radio news hound showed smoke rising from the field, as a number of IDF soldiers gathered near the fence.

Israel has made efforts to bolster the Israel-Leb border area, a project which has been under way for some time. In 2012, a seven-meter (23-foot) high wall separating Israel from Leb near Metulla was completed. The 1,200-meter-long (3,937-foot) wall is outfitted with sophisticated cameras and sensory equipment aimed at preventing infiltration. Last year, Israel put up a concrete wall near Kibbutz Misgav Am in the north.
An Nahar adds the Lebanese understanding of the situation:
Israeli troops on Thursday had gun sex and shouted warnings in a bid to disperse a group of young Lebanese men who were hoisting flags on the border fence in celebration of the Resistance
That'd be the Hezbullies, natch...
and Liberation Day, which Leb marks on May 25, a media report said.

"After the young men refused to leave, enemy troops set fire to a field behind the border fence, which detonated a number of landmines in the area, before the troops opened fire anew," al-Jadeed television reported.

Terror Networks
The forgotten slaughters of the innocents
By Michelle Malkin

For now, everyone knows the sonorous name and cherubic face of 8-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos.

She’s the littlest known victim of Monday night’s jihad attack in Manchester, England. Her doe-eyed image spread as rapidly across social media as the #PrayForManchester hashtags and Twitter condolences from celebrities.

But I guarantee you that beautiful Saffie Rose will evaporate from the memories of those most loudly proclaiming "Never forget" faster than a dewdrop in the desert.

Look no further for proof of the West’s incurable terror attack amnesia than the reaction to the Manchester massacre. Reporters, politicians and pundits expressed shock at the brutality of Moslem murderers targeting children and young people.

Labour Party leader Yvette Cooper posited on BBC Live that it was a "first."

"The architects of terror have hit a new low," a Liverpool newspaper editorialized.

U.K. columnist Rosie Millard described the bloody bombing as an "attack unique in its premeditated targeting of the young."

What planet have these people been living on for the past 16 years? How quickly the blind, deaf and dumb virtue signalers forget.

Last year, the Orlando, Florida, nightclub jihadist purposely targeted young people simply having a good time. Among the youngest victims cut down in their prime: Jason B. Josaphat, 19, and vacationing high school honors student Akyra Monet Murray, 18.

Somali jihadist Abdul Razak Ali Artan plowed his car into Ohio State University students last fall before stabbing several of them. The attack was swept under the rug as the usual, terror-coddling suspects worried more about a nonexistent "backlash" against Moslems than they did about the steady infiltration of refugee jihadis and Islamic holy warriors at colleges and universities across the country.

In 2004, Islamic baby-killers attacked a school in Beslan, Russia, during a three-day siege that took the lives of 186 young children.

At Fort Hood in 2009, soldier Francheska Velez and her unborn child were murdered by jihadist Nidal Hasan with 13 other victims. Her last words: "My baby! My baby!"

Eight children were murdered on airliners that jihadists hijacked and crashed on Sept. 11, 2001.

Christine Hanson, 3, was on United Airlines Flight 175 with her parents. She was on her first trip to Disneyland. Juliana McCourt, 4, was traveling with her mom -- also on her way to Disneyland. David Brandhorst, 3, was traveling with his adoptive dad and his lover companion.

Sisters Zoe Falkenberg, 8, and Dana, 3, were headed to Australia with their parents on American Airlines Flight 77.

Bernard Brown Jr., 11; Rodney Dickens, 11; and Asia Cottom, 11, all from Washington, D.C., were also on the Falkenbergs’ flight. They were public schoolchildren traveling with their teachers on an educational trip.

An additional 10 pregnant women and their unborn babies died as the Twin Towers toppled. Eight years before, during the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, one pregnant woman and her unborn child also perished.

The Boston Marathon bombing of 2013 injured 263 and claimed three lives, including 8-year-old Martin Richard. Authorities recounted at trial that Martin suffered "visceral pain" in nearly every part of his body as shrapnel -- metal, wood, nails and pellets -- from the jihadists’ pressure cooker bomb ripped into him.

Yes, the same type of sadistic torture bombs suspected of maiming and killing kids and teens in Manchester this week.

Newsflash: There is nothing new or unique about the barbaric soldiers of Allah executing premeditated attacks on our young. History teaches us there is no appeasing the unappeasable. They will not be bought by welfare subsidies, sensitivity programs, college educations or diversity-is-our-strength platitudes.

The slaughter of the innocents will continue unabated as long as the West’s useless last responders to jihad violence -- addled by short-term memories and child-like comprehension of the Islamic imperialism imperative -- prevail.
The real enemy is not Moslems - they're just predators attracted to opportunity - the real enemy are "Western Elites" and their war against our very Humanity.
Never believe the enemy's not Moslems. Not all of them, but a pretty significant strain. Katy Perry and similar nitwits are aiders and abettors. They deserve to be sent to the un-air conditioned Tower of Needles, assuming one can be built large enough, there to live out their miserable lives without contact with the civilized world. The Salafist murder crew need to be killed like the human cockroaches they are.

#1  One bad person with one bomb. Result: Tens of dead. Dozens maimed.

On 911 a hand full of Islamists, thousands died.

The terrorists are efficient at mass murder, at the same time the leftists stick their heads up their asses or rush to protect the them.

Both groups must be considered as an evil alliance.

John Kerry screaming and crying because Trump cancelled TPP
Ex-Secretary of State John Kerry ripped President Donald Trump for pulling out of the controversial Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal, which would have leveled barriers to commerce and standardized regulations between the United States and an array of Pacific Rim nations, arguing that the swift pivot away from the accord damaged American influence and credibility internationally.

Former President Barack Obama--with the help of Kerry and his predecessor, Hillary Clinton--hammered out the TPP with Japan, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Brunei, the Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand and Singapore, against the urgings of labor and other left-liberal interest groups. Obama fought his own party to secure so-called "fast-track" authority from Congress, which would have allowed the House and Senate to only vote "yea" or "nay" on the agreement, without changing its particulars.
In total contravention of the democratic process. And yet they scream and squawk at Trump for overthrowing democracy. Classic case of psychological projection.
But that vote never took place and Trump, who ran a fiercely nationalist campaign, signed an order to withdraw from the deal.

"Something that I in the administration, and the president, worked extremely hard on through the years was the TPP, the Trans Pacific Partnership," said Kerry, who accepted an award in Manhattan today from the nonprofit The Common Good. "You can say ’I don’t like Clause C, or E,’ or whatever. You go and negotiate. It was just thrown out, completely thrown out. In doing so, we walked back eight to ten years of our work American efforts and credibility in the region."
So American credibility - i.e. Kerry's credibility - is more important than the interests of the American people. We already knew that, but it's nice to see it confirmed.
Kerry predicted "a long-term downward payout" from the current administration’s decision, which will limit the U.S.’s ability to promote its interests abroad in the future. The TPP was designed to counter the growing influence of China, but critics on both ends of the spectrum warned about the loss of American sovereignty, and exposing U.S. workers to competition with those in poorer nations with weaker workplace regulations.
"limit the U.S.’s ability to promote its interests abroad in the future." i.e. place limits on globalism. F U Kerry, we don't need that crap.
Nonetheless, the former State Department head sounded upbeat about the possibilities for the global future, asserting Americans can find prosperity by fighting to resolve the problems of the world.
This makes zero sense. Globalist scumbag. Globalism means no prosperity for Americans, it means poverty and joblessness. Boy did we make the right choice in Trump.

Britain
Manchester Arena, day 5: Info being shared again, NHS on alert for the weekend, did Abedi give away another bomb?
From the Telegraph liveblog at 2:48 a.m. local time:
Hashem Abedi is alleged to have claimed that Salam learnt to make bombs from the internet.

Donald Trump has vowed to "get to the bottom" of US leaks over the Manchester bombing and said the culprit should be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law". Intelligence sharing with the US has resumed after fresh assurances were received.

NHS England urged 27 major trauma centres to prepare for a possible attack ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend - the first such warning to be issued since 2008.

Ssecurity services have foiled five attacks in the past two months since the Westminster attack, saying authorities are managing 500 active investigations - involving 3,000 subjects of interest at any one time.

Police hunting the network behind Abedi's attack disclosed they have made "significant" arrests and seized "very important" items in raids linked to the investigation. Eight people remain in custody.

Fears over 'second bomb' after police find huge chemical explosive cache and bomb factory in raid of Salman Abedi home. He may have built another device now in the hands of fellow jihadists using skills learnt in Libya.

Armed police officers are patrolling on board trains nationwide for the first time, in a bid to "disrupt and deter criminal activity" on the rail network after the UK terror threat level rose to critical.

Abedi flew from Dusseldorf to Manchester four days before the attack. It is now believed he was in transit on his way back from Istanbul. He had previously visited Frankfurt in 2015.

A man and a woman of Libyan origin were arrested Thursday morning in Withington, Manchester. They have three small children, and moved into the flat at least six months ago. According to neighbours the woman speaks little English and wears traditional religious clothing and the hijab.

The eight arrests described in chronological order

How the Manchester bomber was 'injured on the front line in Libya while fighting with jihadis in his gap year'

[DailyMail] Bomber Salman Abedi may have learnt to kill during the school summer holidays when his father took him to the 2011 Libyan uprising. While there he fell under the influence of a radical preacher named Abdul-Basit Ghwela, according to a US official.

He returned to the front line in 2014 when he was hospitalised fighting alongside jihadis in Libya during his gap year, it was claimed last night. He was injured on the front line in Ajdabiya, eastern Libya, and taken to Turkey for treatment using a false passport, a source told the Mail. The incident is believed to have taken place in 2014, shortly after Abedi left Manchester College.

He later returned to study business management at Salford University, before dropping out and descending into a fanatical spiral that culminated in Monday’s atrocity.

Trustee of mosque ‘linked’ to Manchester bomber sent anti-Semitic tweets
Unexpectedly.
[IsraelTimes] Farzi Haffar rejects Didsbury mosque is breeding ground for extremism, after it emerged he sent messages referring to the ‘Jewish lobby’ and calling Israelis Nazis.

Turkey says no record of Manchester bomber travelling to Syria

[AlAhram] The suicide bomber who killed 22 people in Manchester passed through Istanbul on his way to Europe but there were no records of him entering Syria during his travels, Turkish security officials told Reuters on Thursday. They said Turkey received no warning from European countries about the bomber, Salman Abedi, so he was allowed to travel on to Europe.

Describing Abedi's movements before the attack, one official said: "There is flight traffic before his arrival to Europe. He travels first to Europe, then to a third country and then to Istanbul and back to Europe."

He said the "third country" was not Syria.

"He has not spent any time in Turkey (and) he has not had an entry or exit from Syria during his travels, there is no such information in his records," the official said.

Iraq
Pentagon shifts blame to ISIS for 100 civilians killed during US airstrike in Mosul
[RT] More than 100 non-combatants were killed when a US Arclight airstrike in Iraq triggered secondary kabooms in March, according to a Pentagon investigation. Washington says Iraq requested the strike after Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters began shooting at Iraqi forces.

The probe found that the March 17 Arclight airstrike on a building in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
's al-Jadida neighborhood triggered secondary kabooms from devices planted by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIS) fighters.

Those secondary blasts, according to the military, caused the concrete building to collapse, leading to more than 100 civilian casualties, which likely represents the largest single incident of civilian deaths since the US air campaign against IS began in 2014.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Matthew Isler, the lead investigator of the probe, said 101 civilians in the building were killed and that another four died in a nearby building. He says 36 civilians remain unaccounted for.

Although the investigation acknowledges the civilian deaths caused, it appears to assign blame to Islamic State, with the probe noting that the episode began when two IS snipers began firing at troops from Iraq's Counterterrorism Service.

The Pentagon said military Sherlocks led by Isler visited the site of the deadly Arclight airstrike twice, spoke to witnesses, and combed through more than 700 videos taken from coalition warplanes over a 10-day period before, during, and after the strike.

Africa North
Thinni government says it warned UK about harbouring terrorists
[Libya Herald] The Beida-based government of Abdullah Thinni has said that it had warned the British government that it was harbouring Libyan terrorists. But the UK had continued to offer a safe haven to the members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and the Moslem Brüderbund.

In a statement that began by denouncing the Manchester terror bombing, the Thinni government then moved on to an outright assault on British support for the Presidency Council (PC) which it said was not recognised by the House of Representatives (HoR) and operated illegally in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
It said the cowardly Manchester attack stemmed from the presence for decades of terrorist groups in the UK. This included the LIFG "which has been recruiting Libyan and Moslem youth in the UK and Europe and sending them to Libya and other countries to deliver terrorism and death."

This, it continued, had been done with the knowledge and consent of the British government which had provided a safe haven for what it described as the "father" of these Death Eaters who was now in Tripoli. This may have been a reference to Dar al-Ifta head Sheikh Sadek Ghariani or to Abdul Hakim Belhaj a former leader of the LIFG. The man was described as a friend and comrade of a member of the PC whom the statement also did not name.

It said that despite its continuous warnings, successive UK governments and British ambassadors had "insisted that we share power in Libya with these terrorist organizations and their militias, the LIFG and the Moslem Brüderbund". These, it said, had an ideology that resisted any peaceful accord.

It added that David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
, Theresa May’s predecessor as British prime minister, had been pushing the dominance of these groups who "have been destroying our cities and towns in an attempt to shape Libya into an exporter of terror to the whole planet."

The Beida government insisted that London was actually well aware that the legitimate government of Libya and the Libyan National Army (LNA) were combating these terrorists.

Quetta kidnapping
[DAWN] WHEN a high-profile kidnapping takes place in broad daylight in one of the most heavily policed urban centres in the country, questions are bound to be raised. On Tuesday afternoon in Quetta, two Chinese nationals, a man and a woman who run a language centre in the city’s affluent Jinnah Colony, were forced into a car without a number plate by three gunnies who then drove away firing their weapons in the air. Another Chinese woman managed to break free and ran back into the centre. When a passer-by, a commendably brave one at that, intervened, he was shot and injured. So far, no one has grabbed credit for the abduction.

The incident underscores the precarious security situation in insurgency-wracked Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
as well as the murky transnational interests that complicate matters there. The province has seen a number of acts of terrorism since the Aug 8, 2016, suicide kaboom in Quetta that killed scores of lawyers. On Oct 24, holy warriors stormed the police training college in the scenic provincial capital, killing around 60 young cadets. In November, a suicide kaboom at the Shah Noorani shrine left at least 50 people dead. On April 13 this year, 10 labourers were rubbed out at a construction site, and on May 12, a suicide kaboom targeted the convoy of the deputy chairman, Senate, Maulana Ghafoor Haideri in Mastung. The holy man sustained injuries, while close to 30 people bit the dust. Those who have grabbed credit for these attacks include Baloch krazed killers, and various Islamist outfits including the hard boy Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, Jamaatul Ahrar
...A Pak Taliban splinter group that split off from the Mullah Fazlullah faction because it wasn't violent enough...
, etc; there are also a number of shadowy criminal groups in the province with links -- sometimes tenuous, at other times not -- to Lion of Islam organizations. Balochistan today is a confoundedly complex problem, a powder keg of competing interests, the outcome of a decades-long failure of state policy marked by a refusal to honestly address the political grievances -- some of them very legitimate -- of the Baloch; that omission is being exploited by subversive foreign elements with some success. Arguably, the inception of CPEC has made the situation even more fraught, with security for Chinese nationals acquiring particular urgency. The abduction two days ago is evidence that law-enforcement authorities in the province have yet to get their act together. It is pertinent to ask how, in a city with an overwhelming security footprint, did the perpetrators get away with such a brazen crime?

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel to cut over a quarter of electricity provided to Gaza
Intra-Palestinian squabbling, for which Israel will shortly be blamed.
[Ynet] As part of a power struggle between the PA and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, Abbas decides to cut down the amount of money the PA pays for Gazoo's electricity, leading Israel to reduce the electricity to the strip accordingly.

In two weeks' time, Israel will cut over a quarter of the electricity it provides the Gazoo Strip, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced Thursday.

Every month, Israel provides the Gazoo Strip with 125 megawatts of electricity, which costs NIS 40 million on average. Israel takes that sum out of the tax money it collects for the Paleostinian Authority.

Two months ago, the PA decided to stop paying that sum due to a power struggle with the Hamas government. The PA had demanded control over the Gazoo Strip, including control over border crossings, as well as to receive the taxes Hamas collects from Paleostinians in Gazoo for services the PA provides.

Hamas rejected these demands outright, leading Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
to gradually cut down on the services the PA provides the strip for as long as it has no control over the enclave.

Hamas, meanwhile, formed a committee to govern the Gazoo Strip instead of the Paleostinian unity government that sits in Ramallah, which Hamas claims does not take care of the strip's needs.

At first, the PA informed COGAT it was no longer willing to pay for Gazoo's electricity. However it has recently softened its position, telling COGAT that starting next month it will pay NIS 25-30 million every month instead of NIS 40 million.

As a result, Israel has decided to reduce the electricity it provides the strip accordingly.

"Hamas prefers its own interests and those of its senior members," said GOCAT, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai. "Every tunnel in the Gazoo Strip has a generator, and only after that do the people get electricity. This failure is not ours. This is a conflict between Hamas and the PA. If Hamas decides the electricity will go to hospitals and civilians instead of Hamas members and Yahya Sinwar, the public in the Gazoo Strip won't have a problem."

Because of the electricity crisis in the strip, an average Paleostinian home gets about six hours of electricity per day.

Shock at revelation that Manchester suicide killer was Libyan
[Libya Herald] Libyans are in shock this afternoon after hearing that the Manchester jacket wallah was from their country.

British police named Salman Abedi, a Libyan-British dual national, as the killer although his Libyan National ID registration reportedly names him as Sulaiman Abedi. Although the family are originally from the east, from Guba, his father was born in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
Many in the country are upset because they had hoped to rid it of terrorism and instability, marking a new, positive period. Now, however, they fear the outside world will fear Libya.

"It is disappointing and I offer my condolences to the victims and their families. I can feel them and wish them to not think that all Libyans are terrorists," Mousa al-Naili told the Libya Herald.

"It is so sad to hear this news. I can’t understand why this guy has made this terrible act. My deep condolences to all British people," Aisha Zaatut, a Libyan housewife said.

On the other hand, some Libyan observers and journalists, despite their sorrow at the events, have blamed the British government.

Reda Fhelboom, a well-known Libyan journalist who previously lived for many years in Manchester, said that Britannia was paying the price for sheltering hard boys. "Britannia grants them asylum and rights of residency and now it is paying the price for disregarding their extreme ideology," he said.

"To hear that those responsible for the attack are Libyan wasn’t a surprise to me since I know that there are many Libyan turbans living in Manchester," he added.

The same thing was said by prominent analyst Mohammed Eljarh who tweeted that "many Libyan Islamists (LIFG in particular) who fled the Qadaffy regime took refuge in the UK & Manchester is a big centre for them".

India cancels plans for coal power stations due to cheap solar
[Dhaka Tribune] India has cancelled plans to build nearly 14 gigawatts of coal-fired power stations, about the same as the total amount in the UK, with the price for solar electricity "free falling" to levels once considered impossible.
Let us know how that works out for ya...
Analyst Tim Buckley said the shift away from the dirtiest fossil fuel and towards solar in India would have "profound" implications on global energy markets.

According to his article on the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis’s website, 13.7GW of planned coal power projects have been cancelled so far this month, in a stark indication of the pace of change.

In January last year, Finnish company Fortum agreed to generate electricity in Rajasthan with a record low tariff, or guaranteed price, of RS4.34 per kilowatt-hour.

Buckley, director of energy finance studies at the IEEFA, said that at the time analysts said this price was so low would never be repeated.

But, 16 months later, an auction for a 500-megawatt solar facility resulted in a tariff of just RS2.44, compared to the wholesale price charged by a major coal-power utility of RS3.2 rupees (about 31% higher).

"For the first time solar is cheaper than coal in India and the implications this has for transforming global energy markets is profound," Buckley said.

#1  Not mentioned is India will have to build massive amounts of pumped hydro storage, which will cost more than the coal power stations, even if the solar were free.

#4  IEFFA description from their website:

"The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) conducts research and analyses on financial and economic issues related to energy and the environment. The Institute’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy."

So in other words, they're an NPO getting funding from the greens.

A BIG Morton Salt Girl graphic is indeed warranted.

Fortum (the solar provider) will make buckets of money up front. When the competition is gone, they'll jack their rates to make more, collect until their costs are covered plus 1,000%, and then walk away (probably complaining about 'government interference' or something).

#5  Probably some power play between groups of corrupt Indian bureaucrats for the largest share of the bribe money.
As to Fortum, a friend in the Petroleum Engineering field, once told me that the reason the Bhopal litigation never went anywhere (by Western lawfare standards) was that the Indian government wants a controlling 51%+ interest in any major projects -- so any future litigation would have the Indian government agreeing to sue itself for damages. Highly unlikely.

Cops Nab Woman For Pork Fried Rice Battery
[THESMOKINGGUN] A Florida man was found "covered from head to toe in pork fried rice and a red sauce" following an attack yesterday by his ex-girlfriend, according to cops who locked away

the woman for domestic battery.

Responding to a disturbance at the China No. 1 restaurant in Vero Beach, a sheriff’s deputy discovered Brian Kusmer, 31, wearing his lunch. Kusmer said that he was waiting for his former girlfriend, Samantha Wilson, to drop off the couple’s eight-year-old son (whose custody they share).

When Wilson, 30, arrived at the restaurant, the duo argued about Wilson repeatedly keeping the child out of school, according to a police report. Kusmer told a cop that he asked Wilson to leave the restaurant after she got mad and began screaming at him.

Before departing, however, Wilson allegedly threw a plate of food on Kusmer, who later declined medical attention, but said "the sauce burned a little." Kusmer’s account of the incident was backed up by another customer.

During police questioning, Wilson reportedly copped to the pork fried rice battery. Wilson, police noted, said that she "never physically touched Kusmer she only threw the food at him."

Pictured above, Wilson was arrested for domestic battery, a misdemeanor, and booked into the county jail. She was subsequently released on her own recognizance and ordered to have no contact with Kusmer. Wilson’s rap sheet includes prior collars for criminal mischief, theft, negligence, and child abuse.

Montana GOP candidate charged with assault after ‘body-slamming reporter’, then witness changes story
[RT] Montana Republican congressional candidate Greg Gianforte has been charged with assaulting a reporter hours before polls were due to open on Thursday for a special election.
He probably should have just hollered "Can we get some muscle over here?" and the guy woulda known he was serious.
The alleged altercation took place at Gianforte’s campaign headquarters in Bozeman, Montana, on Wednesday. The tech millionaire was in a side room with a local television news crew when Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs attempted to ask his question about the Republican healthcare bill.

“He took me to the ground,” Jacobs told the Guardian. “I think he whaled on me once or twice… He got me and I think he hit me… This is the strangest thing that has ever happened to me in reporting on politics.”

Jacobs reported the incident to the police. The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said there were four witnesses to the incident, in addition to Gianforte and Jacobs. It completed its investigation and “determined there was probable cause to issue a citation to Greg Gianforte for misdemeanor assault,” Sheriff Brian Gootkin said in a statement.

Gootkin said the nature of the injuries did not meet the statutory conditions for felony assault.

Gianforte's campaign didn’t deny Jacobs’ claim, but countered with its own statement that the reporter had provoked the altercation.

“Jacobs was asked to leave,” the statement read. “After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg’s wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground.”

“It’s unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ.”

Montana Assault Witness Changes Story, Says No Neck Grab

[LIFEZETTE] A news hound who was a firsthand witness to an incident late Wednesday involving Montana GOP candidate Greg Gianforte and a news hound for the Guardian now admits she may have misstated some details of her initial story.

Guardian news hound Ben Jacobs claimed Gianforte, locked in a hotly contested special election for Congress, body-slammed him and broke his glasses at a campaign event Wednesday. Local authorities have brought misdemeanor assault charges against Gianforte.

There is, so far, no direct video of the incident; only audio has been produced publicly. Among the small handful of eyewitnesses was Fox News news hound Alicia Acuna.

Acuna wrote a report published on Fox News that detailed what happened as Jacobs aggressively questioned Gianforte.

"At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him," she wrote, "Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the news hound. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, ’I’m sick and tired of this!'"

Acuna repeated her initial version of events during an appearance on Fox News Wednesday evening.

"Gianforte grabbed [Jacobs] by the neck, slid him to the side, and body-slammed him, and then got on top of him and started punching," she said.

Details from Acuna's report quickly went viral online, but she said Thursday during an interview on "The Laura Ingraham Show" that she misstated the neck grab.

"One of you guys said last night that he put his hands around his neck," Ingraham said. "Which, as somebody who's done a lot of taekwondo and self-defense, to me that seemed, that might not be exactly right."

"You know, and I'm the one who said that," Acuna replied, "I saw both his hands go up, not around his neck in a strangling type of way, but more just on each side of his neck, just grabbed him and I guess it could've been on his clothes, I don't know."

Ingraham asked Acuna if that meant she was changing her story.

"Again, just to clarify, he didn't grab him by the neck with both hands in the way that was initially described, that's not quite accurate," Ingraham asked at the end of the interview.

Gianforte dropped out of sight after he was cited by police and ignored calls on Thursday by national Republicans for him to apologize to the reporter.

LNA continues Fezzan push
[Libya Herald] The Libyan National Army (LNA), says it has ousted a supposedly pro-Presidency Council militia from Sebha’s east central district of Mahdiya, capturing its camp together with weapons, ammunition and vehicles. No casualty figures have been announced, but LNA front man Colonel Ahmed Mismari has said that three murderous Moslem were captured and the militia’s leader, Samir Busaifi, maimed. He also claimed that the assault on the camp by the LNA’s 116th Brigade and commanded by Masoud Jedi was strongly supported by armed local residents.

The militia, named Humat Libya, is reported to also comprise mainly local fighters.

The LNA’s 12th Battalion front man Mohammed Lefiris told the Libya Herald that it had credible intelligence that the Humat militia had been involved in the massacre at Brak al-Shatti airbase last week. The information came from imported muscle nabbed
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
by the 12th Battalion, Lefiris added.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth ordered the entire 614th quadrant searched. The Green Lensman must be found!...
Mismari also revealed that the air force had bombed locations in Jufra last night, damaging enemy equipment and injuring personnel. He referred to the latter as members of al-Qaeda. He also disclosed that the armed forces were now heading towards Tamenhint.

For their part, tribal elders from the area have ordered civilians to keep away from the airbase for their own safety. On Saturday, giving the defenders 72 hours to depart, they called on locals to go there to force the mainly Misratan 13th Battalion and their allies to quit. It is reported that with the deadline passed, they have now decided to lay siege to the base, not allowing anyone in or out.

John Glenn’s remains were disrespected at the military's mortuary, Pentagon documents allege
[MILITARYTIMES] A senior mortuary employee at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware twice offered horrified inspectors a peek at American icon John Glenn's dead body while the famed astronaut awaited burial earlier this year, according to an internal memo obtained by Military Times.
Things have certainly changed a lot, apparently. The last time I was at Dover, ten years ago, they were almost over-correct about military remains.
The disturbing allegation has outraged Pentagon officials and sparked a top-level investigation to determine whether misconduct was committed. The memo, written by Deborah Skillman, the Defense Department's director of casualty and mortuary affairs, states the employee's alleged actions were "clearly inappropriate and personally shocking." The document is dated May 11.

Glenn, who in 1962 became the first American to orbit Earth, was 95 when he died Dec. 8. A combat-decorated Marine, he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors April 6, on what would've been his 74th wedding anniversary.

Glenn's family asked the Air Force to care for his remains in the interim, a request that was granted to "ensure an increased level of privacy and security for a renowned public servant, Marine Corps officer, and pioneer of space exploration," Skillman's memo states. It was during that time, first on Feb. 28 and again on March 2, when William Zwicharowski, the mortuary's branch chief, "offered to allow the inspectors to view the dear departed." Skillman was among them.

"Moreover," she wrote, "this offer to view the remains was also made in the presence of, and observed by, junior personnel on the Dover Mortuary Branch staff."
Posted by: Fred || 05/26/2017 00:00 || Comments || Link || E-Mail|| [1 views] Top|| File under:

#1  ...This may not entirely explain things, but it's a start (from TFA):

Skillman noted in her memo that Zwicharowski made comments indicating he believed the inspection was an act of reprisal for having exposed, six years prior, how the mortuary mishandled the remains of some fallen service members returning home from the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq. She disputes that in memo, writing “it is important to note that this inspection was pursuant to a new DoD inspection policy, and three other sites had been inspected prior to the team’s inspection of Dover."

It's unclear what that new policy entails, though Ryder said the mortuary passed its inspection with a score of 94 percent.

Zwicharowski, along with two other mortuary employees, was at the center of a whistle-blower scandal that revealed body parts had gone missing or were disposed of improperly. They were subsequently honored with Public Servant of the Year awards after nearly being fired for going outside their chain of command to report what they believed were code violations, public health dangers and gross mismanagement.

...So let me get this straight:

1. The guy does the right thing, and - in the end - is rewarded for it.
2. He's convinced that what appears to be a routine inspection is actually retribution, so he
3. Does something every bit as bad and reprehensible as the things he reported on.

Got it.

Mike

#4  I have to wonder if what Mr. Zwicharowski was really offering the inspectors was the chance to see for themselves that things were being done properly, given his history of going outside the chain of command to report improprieties. A shop that passes inspection with a score of 94% doesn't blatently make inappropriate offers to inspectors, especially in front of junior personnel.
