McCabe Lawyers Up, Kept "Personal Memos" Of Trump
That was fast!
[Zero Hedge] - After former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired by the Justice Department late on Friday night just two days before his retirement, because he lied under oath or as AG Sessions said, McCabe "lacked candor - including under oath - on multiple occasions... all FBI employees know that lacking candor under oath results in dismissal", McCabe has decided he won't go down quietly in what he has dubbed the Trump administration's "war on the FBI."

McCabe, who briefly led the agency after Director James Comey was fired, said his dismissal by Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Friday night was the latest attack on his credibility. He has claimed he's being singled out because of what he witnessed in the aftermath of Comey's ouster.

Of course, some - such as ethics officials belonging to the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility - beg to differ: after all it was they who recommended McCabe's dismissal on Thursday for lying to the Inspector General in the course of a government investigation. As CBS News justice correspondent Paula Reid noted, McCabe's termination takes place just days before the highly anticipated release of the Inspector General's report which is expected to show that he leaked information with the media about the agency's investigation into the Clinton Foundation, and lied under oath.

#1  McCabe lied to the Fisa court and Congress. He may have supervised alteration of 302 forms. He was not candid about his wife's Dem campaign and the $700,000 that came to or thru her. He illegally leaked info. There is probably far more if the DOJ OPR recommended his firing. Why the heck should we give a damn about anything that comes from two liars such as McCabe or Comey?

The ‘Greek Tragedy' of Cyber Security: We Know How This Ends
[The Cipher Brief] Cyber events of the past two years‐perpetrated by state actors in several notable cases, according to public statements by the U.S. and British governments‐ have demonstrated the potential for damaging impact to national security, critical infrastructures, and the global economy.

Electric power distribution, healthcare services, pharmaceutical manufacturing and global shipping have all suffered significant disruptions, in some cases requiring days to even months for full recovery. Databases with all manner of sensitive information with privacy and financial implications have been pillaged even from commercial and government organizations whose entire business models center on the protection of information.

These occurrences have become so common that we are no longer surprised, yet we continue to approach the challenge of protecting processes and data as if some magic technical solution exists for computers or networks. Networks and computers are complex technical systems that are constantly evolving and delivered through an opaque global supply chain, yet we maintain the fantasy that vulnerabilities, improper configurations and compromised sources of products and updates can be prevented, avoided or managed to an acceptable degree. And thus we have the elements of Greek tragedy: a well-meaning hero whose choices lead to bad outcomes that the audience knows to be inevitable.

The pathway to this state of affairs began for many businesses 20 to 30 years ago by replacing basic business functions‐such as typing, filing and communications‐with individual computers. Organizations consolidated devices and hooked them all together in local area networks and began to consider new ways to manage business processes.

And then they hooked all of this to the internet and made further changes to processes and developed new ways of doing business or even new kinds of businesses. As the internet developed further‐for example, with cloud computing‐they found further economies of scale and efficiency. In the course of doing all of this, they considered to some degree the new risks incurred by the exposure of systems and data to a global community, but they primarily put resources into managing just the technical flaws of computers and networks.

Terror Networks
The Resurgence of Al-Qaeda
[Real Clear Defense] Nearly seven years after the killing of Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda is numerically larger and present in more countries than at any other time in its history. Indeed, the movement now boasts of some 40,000 men under arms, with approximately 10,000‐20,000 fighters in Syria; 7000‐9000 in Somalia; 5000 in Libya; 4000 in Yemen; a similar number dispersed throughout other countries across the Maghreb and Sahel; 3000 in Indonesia; and approximately 1000 in South Asia. From north-west Africa to South East Asia, al-Qaeda has been able to knit together a global movement of some two dozen local franchises.

How is this possible? There are four reasons.

#1  In addition to those factors described by the article, the fact of the matter is that most of the cannon fodder will pledge allegiance to whichever group seems most successful at the moment. So as ISIS fades, those people will flow to their local Al Qaeda branch. And in places like Europe, jihadis have for several years been connecting for individual projects irrespective of their previous allegience.

Matt Damon NOT Moving To Australia
So, how many actors & other celebrity types actually moved out of the country since Trump was elected, zero?
[AP / MSN] - LOS ANGELES ‐ A publicist for Matt Damon is batting down reports that the actor is moving to Australia with his family.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper in Sydney had reported that Damon was buying a home in Byron Bay near actor Chris Hemsworth. The two recently appeared in "Thor: Ragnarok" together.

Damon spokeswoman Jennifer Allen said Damon has been to Australia a lot recently. But Damon has not bought a home there nor is he relocating there, she said.

The New York Post's Page Six gossip site, citing an unnamed source, said the "Good Will Hunting" and "Jason Bourne" star told friends and colleagues he wanted to leave the country because he disagrees with Trump's policies.

McCabe Now A Victim Of Administration's ‘War On The FBI'.... According to McCabe
Excerpt:
[Hot Air] "Here is the reality: I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey. The release of this report was accelerated only after my testimony to the House Intelligence Committee revealed that I would corroborate former Director Comey’s accounts of his discussions with the President. The OIG’s focus on me and this report became a part of an unprecedented effort by the Administration, driven by the President himself, to remove me from my position, destroy my reputation, and possibly strip me of a pension that I worked 21 years to earn. The accelerated release of the report, and the punitive actions taken in response, make sense only when viewed through this lens. Thursday’s comments from the White House are just the latest example of this."

"This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally. It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work."

The 'Deep State' Perspective: Good Riddance to CIA Director Pompeo
[Foreign Policy] As the post-mortems of Mike Pompeo’s tenure as CIA director are finalized, a rough consensus has emerged. Pompeo, the conventional wisdom holds, is the rare Trump administration Cabinet official who kept his head down, focused on the mission, and did what President Donald Trump refused to do: He spoke with clarity and conviction about Russia’s ongoing attack on U.S. democracy. He was an effective, if quiet, workhorse pursuing America’s national security interests, we’ve been told, whose close relationship with the president was good for the CIA and, in turn, U.S. national security. He was a founding member of the so-called Axis of Adults, whose membership has steadily dwindled.

As is typically the case in Washington, the conventional wisdom is wrong.

Pompeo, previously a Republican congressman from Kansas, came to the CIA as a square peg in a round hole, as many of Trump’s Cabinet selections did. Unlike some of his colleagues, however, Pompeo didn’t make any effort to become more spherical. He opted to make the role as CIA director conform to him. Many of these efforts were well beyond public view, taking place in secure conference rooms in Langley or within the confines of the White House Situation Room, only occasionally ‐ and even then, subtly ‐ spilling into public view. But the largely shrouded nature of Pompeo’s leadership of the agency didn’t make it any less pernicious to the CIA ‐ its integrity, mission, and workforce.

Well before Pompeo was confirmed as CIA director in January 2017, there was every indication he would not approach the job as his predecessors had. Pompeo made a name for himself in Congress as a leading purveyor of hard-line conservative ideology and even conspiracy theories. While his firebrand reputation would have given most presidents-elect pause, Pompeo’s incendiary rhetoric ‐ especially his relentless, and not always factual, attacks on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the context of the Benghazi investigation ‐ reportedly endeared him to Trump, who himself rose to prominence peddling a conspiracy theory.

Agency-watchers recognized that Pompeo’s selection was fraught, as the CIA workforce prizes its distance ‐ literal and physical ‐ from the politics of Washington. Indeed, there’s no dirtier word within Langley’s corridors than "politicization." That’s not to say that Pompeo’s tenure was doomed to failure. Previous directors ‐ from George H.W. Bush to Leon Panetta ‐ had successfully made the turn from political animal to above-it-all intelligence chief. As most CIA directors have, they checked their policy predispositions at the great seal and adopted a "just the facts" demeanor ‐ both in public and behind closed doors. Not Mike Pompeo.

Air Ambulance Called to More Stabbings and Shootings than Road Accidents in Sadiq Khan's London
[Breitbart London] London’s Air Ambulance had to attend more stabbings and shootings than road traffic accidents for the first time in its almost 30-year history in 2017.

Newly released figures reveal that airborne trauma specialists and paramedics treated some 560 shooting and stabbing victims over the course of the year, compared to 533 cyclists, drivers, passengers, and pedestrians who had been involved in road traffic accidents, the Evening Standard reports.

Dr. Gareth Grier, the Air Ambulance service’s lead clinician, said it is now "not unusual now for our teams to perform open-chest surgery for stab wounds twice in a single day," adding: "This would have been unheard of a few years back."

He tried to offer the public some reassurance by telling them his team’s "world-leading treatments mean that we can give these [stabbing and shooting victims] and other patients we treat the best possible chance of survival."

Meanwhile, apologists for city Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has overseen a massive rise in crime and terror attacks since he took office in 2016, have tried to downplay the news, noting that the number of collisions attended by Air Ambulance crews declined compared to 2016 ‐ but this does not disguise the fact that the number of shootings and stabbings attended increased by 60.

Rush: Mueller Wants to Nullify Trump's $900M Tax Deduction from 1995 to ‘Ruin Him'
[Breitbart] Special Counsel Robert Mueller intends to financially "ruin" President Donald Trump by investigating the Trump Organization’s business operations, said Rush Limbaugh on his eponymous Thursday radio show. He also rejected ubiquitous news media and political narratives framing Special Counsel Robert Mueller as a man of integrity.

Limbaugh described Washington-based political and bureaucratic interests as broadly desiring an ousting of Trump from the presidency:
They want Trump gone. They want everybody anything to do with Trump gone. They all do. Everybody at the State Department, everybody in this immediate FBI circle with Rosenstein, Murphy, and McKinnon, the Republican establishment community, Republican consultants, they want Trump gone. Mueller is the guy to do it. Mueller is carrying the water for the entire establishment in getting Trump gone. And they don’t care how they do it. And I think their objective is to ruin him.

Limbaugh accused Mueller of seeking to "nullify" Trump’s 1995 IRS claim of approximately $900 million in operational losses in order to pursue a reclamation of the money with added penalties and accrued interest:

#2  Limbaugh accused Mueller of seeking to "nullify" Trump’s 1995 IRS claim of approximately $900 million in operational losses...

This is simply further evidence that this whole investigation thing is a complete sham, or Rush is way off base here. Is Mueller really going to rewrite a sizable portion of longstanding tax & business law, not to mention ignoring the three to six year statute of limitations relating to the auditing of filed tax returns? That's not going to happen. Rush is reaching with this one.

Then, as I'm writing this comment, something just popped into my head that I didn't take into account earlier - isn't Mueller now looking into Trump's business activity before he was nominated (I think I saw this on Thursday)? If he's digging into that, then this deduction's now on the table. I now hope Mueller's dumb enough to go after it and make it an issue.

[AccordingToHoyt] And by "we" I mean writers and parents and teachers, and anyone who is supposed to give them an idea of how the world works.

By "children" I mean those of us who were children in the last 50, maybe the last 70 years, and although the problem is most prevalent in America, it has ‐ like most things ‐ spread from America to the rest of the world.

We’re failing our children by denying the existence of evil, or even of dysfunction with no reason other than because it exists.

...Because everything man or child or woman or possibly cat does that is evil must mean he’s either traumatized or something is wrong at the organic level.
Of course there are exceptions: White men are more evil than Zionists who are the most evil there is (logic is racist!)
...Humans aren’t born angelic and perfect. Evil doesn’t grow in a soul as a result of trauma. No human being is free of evil impulses and desires, ever.

Evil, so far as it admits to a generalized definition, is unrestrained power: personal, national, global.

Evil is doing what you want to do with no restraint, and no thought for others. And it is the tendency of every human to do so, until he/she runs into obstacles and pain enough that he/she realizes the rest of the world has a vote. (On the pain, yes, you can do time outs, or, worse, verbal rants that hurt enough to make the kids stop anti-social behavior. I always thought a quick smack when they’re young enough to respond to negative stimulus is less cruel, in the end.)

...Evil exists. No matter how much you have been sinned against, there is no excuse to indulge in it. And yeah, no matter if you’ve never experienced trauma, evil is there. The creature in the space behind your eyes wants unlimited power and control. Everyone does. It needs no explanation. It just needs to be acknowledged as being there, as needing to be curbed and kept under control.
Hoyt does have a knack of reducing issues to fundamentals - I guess that's why she's such a good SF author.

Don't Ignore the Obvious – Key Words from AG Sessions: 'Including Under Oath'....
[The Last Refuge] Don’t be so blinded by the tripwire flares you fail to see the obvious. Within the statement from Attorney General Sessions hopefully you’ll note: "Including Under Oath"

The IG doesn’t place the internal investigative target "under oath". An outside prosecutor who is assisting the IG does. Hence Attorney General Jeff Sessions is telling us what is going on ‐ SEE HERE ‐ Just like he did before:

This is profound.

Everyone is running around trying to read the tea leaves on Mueller and there is another more important and probably earthshaking in ramifications.

So this meme of Sessions being asleep at the switch and the "Trump wants to fire Sessions" is another Trump "rope a dope" with the swamp things.

Former FBI Deputy Director: 'I think you're going to see some pure TNT come out in this IG report'
[The Last Refuge] Former FBI Deputy Director Chris Swecker appeared for an interview with Harris Faulker to discuss the issues surrounding the IG and OPR recommendation that Asst. Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe needs to be fired.

Mr. Swecker notes his opinion the Inspector General report will likely be explosive: "I think you’re going to see some pure TNT come out of this IG report."

Additionally, and somewhat related, it was pointed out earlier today there is a very valid reason for AG Jeff Sessions not to appoint a Special Counsel. A review of the ideology ‐as noted within the Office of Special Counsel communications unit‐ shows a clear bias against the current administration. A bias that is NOT evident within the public communication prior to the Trump administration. The OSC has strongly expressed political views.

It is beyond likely the federal agency known as The Office of Special Counsel is every bit as politicized as the DOJ and FBI officials they would be tasked with investigating. Take a look for yourself. Therefore what AG Jeff Sessions previously explained as the process he has undertaken -bringing in an ’outside of DC’ prosecutor- begins to make more sense, albeit frustratingly methodical.

Seven Great Anti-Fascist Movies to Watch With Your Kids

Kids today have not seen enough of the great anti-fascist movies of past American generations. Bless their hearts they don’t even really know what anti-fascism is. Pence Launches Petition Asking Congress to Fund Border Wall ahead of Spending Deadline
[NR] Vice President Mike Pence has launched an official petition demanding Congress set aside funds to build the wall on America’s border with Mexico that was President Trump’s signature campaign promise.

The "Official Build the Wall Petition" aims to "extinguish" rumors that the plan for the wall is doomed due to lack of funding, the vice president claimed in an email Friday.

"Despite what you might hear from the talking heads in the media, this administration is 100% committed to building a wall along the southern border of the United States of America," he wrote. "Now liberals in the Senate need to hear that YOU, the American people, are ALSO 100% committed to seeing that critical wall built along the border."

Trump visited San Diego this week to evaluate eight border-wall prototypes. The Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection agency is expected to choose a design from among them soon.

"If we don’t have a wall system, we’re not going to have a country," Trump tweeted after his California visit.

More smoke in teepee - FBI Agent Strzok and FISA Judge Contreras were pals
[Daily Caller] The federal judge who recused himself from the Michael Flynn case is personal friends with Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who conducted the White House interview in which the former national security adviser has pleaded guilty to lying.

The friendship between Strzok and Rudolph Contreras, a judge on the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., is discussed in text messages the FBI agent exchanged with his mistress, Lisa Page.

The Justice Department redacted the references to Contreras in 384 pages of text messages provided to Congress. Congressional investigators read the underlying documents and have filled in some of the gaps. The unredacted versions of the texts were obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Now, two Republican lawmakers are questioning the DOJ’s handling of the text messages and also asking if Contreras’ recusal is tied to his friendship with Strzok.

In the texts, exchanged on July 25, 2016, Strzok refers to Contreras, an Obama appointee, as his friend. He also appears to acknowledge that the relationship could cause conflicts of interest warranting recusal.

Two months before the exchange, Contreras was appointed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). As the FBI’s deputy chief of counterintelligence at the time, many of Strzok’s investigations went through FISC.

On shootings, Human Trafficking, and Abortion - Baltimore Ravens Ben Watson 'gets it'
[PJ] WASHINGTON ‐ NFL player Benjamin Watson said school shootings, human trafficking and children losing their lives "before they get a chance to live" are tragedies that call for lawmakers and the general public to reassess how they "value life."

"Anything we can do to protect life and understand that life begins at conception and ends at death; I mean, I think obviously we vote on different things and we have to respect what people desire, that’s part of the reason the laws are the way they are now, but any way we can protect life. A lot of the time when we talk about being pro-life, when you look at what’s happening in our country, when you look at the shootings, sex trafficking, you look at mass incarceration issues, you look at all these things, they are all connected, in my opinion," Watson, who played for the Baltimore Ravens last football season and is currently a free agent, said during an interview with PJM at a recent Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) conference on Capitol Hill.

"It’s all about how we value life and not just life before it’s born but also once it is here," he added. "So for me, it’s always about taking a holistic view of it. So it’s not tied just to abortion, but it’s also about how we value life for those that are already here, as well ‐ because I think when you do that, you also protect life before it’s born."

Watson, who delivered a speech at the March For Life last year, said that 60 million children have been aborted since Roe v. Wade, calling it an "atrocity" that largely "happens in the shadows."

"And since we can’t really see what’s happening, a lot of times, not just with this but with a lot of other things that are happening around the world, if we can’t see it, we somehow don’t feel like it’s urgent and important," he said.

Watson, who plays tight end and began his career with the New England Patriots, said his goal is to bring more public attention to issues such as abortion, violence tearing apart local communities, sex trafficking and mass incarceration.

Abu Zarin Hussin aka the 'Snake Whisperer' dead at 33
[The Sun] A MALAYSIAN firefighter dubbed "the Snake Whisperer" has died after he was bitten by a giant cobra he was hunting.

Abu Zarin Hussin, who has been bitten by his own pet King Cobras eight times, was 33 when he passed away in hospital. Hussin headed the King Cobra Squad of his local fire department, teaching his colleagues how to capture the reptiles without harming them.

His luck finally ran out when he was called out to a snake catching operation in Bentong, where he was fatally biten. Hussin rose to fame when he was pictured kissing a King Cobra, one of several 14ft snakes he claimed to play football and read bedtime stories with.

It emerged last year that Hussin had ended up in a coma twice over snake bites, yet had no intention of ever giving up his perilous pets.
A dreadfully slow learner.

3 inspectors dismissed from police service over involvement in Intizar's murder
[DAWN] Three police inspectors involved in the murder of 19-year-old student Intizar Ahmed in Defence have been dismissed from police service, it emerged on Friday.

On January 14, Intizar was chased down and rubbed out allegedly by nine undercover personnel of Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) after he had reportedly failed to stop his car at a picket.

According to an order issued on March 12 by DIG Dr Muhammad Amin Yousufzai, in charge of CIA Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
, the then station house officer of ACLC Tariq Mehmood, inspectors Azhar Ahsan and Tariq Raheem, have been dismissed from service after they were found guilty of misconduct in the official inquiry into the matter.

They were found involved in "grave misconduct" as they wore "plain clothes" and travelled in "unofficial vehicles with private weapons" which was deemed a violation of existing SOP. Such unprofessional conduct resulted in the tragic death of the 19-year old only son of the family, which also "damaged the reputation of the police," read the inquiry report.

Intizar was a Malaysia-based student who had returned to Pakistain to spend holidays. He was in his car with a female friend when police in plainclothes had reportedly signalled him to stop. When he had failed to oblige, he was chased and bumped off. However,

Four arrested in Karachi for allegedly raping, filming objectionable videos of girls
[DAWN] Bloody Karachi

police have locked away
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
four men suspected of blackmailing girls after allegedly raping and filming them, a senior police official told Dawn on Friday.

Karachi West Zone DIG Amir Farooqi said police had received complaints from parents regarding the alleged involvement of four suspects in raping and making objectionable videos of girls.

Subsequently, police had launched a manhunt for the arrest of suspects and were able to locate and detain them on Thursday from Samanabad area of the metropolis, he said.

Objectionable video of a girl was also seized from the possession of one detained suspect, revealed the DIG, adding that illegal arms were also recovered from their possession.

According to the senior police official, photographs of the suspects posing with arms were also found on their respective social media accounts.

DIG Farooqi said so far the parents of victims have shown reluctance on becoming complainants in the First Information Report (FIR) against the arrested men, "ostensibly on account of shame".

He explained that police could not investigate this aspect [of rape and pornography] "unless the parents agree to make a formal complaint, therefore, for now, a case has been registered over possession of illegal weapons".

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's knife out of his hand......
during the initial investigation, the accused ’confessed’ involvement in such activities during the past two years. In this period they had allegedly raped four girls and also recorded videos of them.

Arm homeless with shotguns to reduce crime, US Senate hopeful says
[FOX] A U.S. Senate candidate in Michigan has proposed a plan to arm homeless people with shotguns in a bid to reduce crime.

Brian Ellison, a Libertarian candidate who is expected to be the party’s candidate in the upcoming midterm elections, said homeless people are often at risk of becoming victims of violent crime and one way to prevent that is by providing them with firearms.

He would be challenging Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow for the U.S. Senate seat in November, if he wins the Libertarian Party’s candidate.

Ellison told the Guardian that although he thinks pistols for homeless people would be ideal, due to stringent gun laws, shotguns are the only alternative for them.

Syrian Army seizes imperative district in east Damascus as militant defenses reach breaking point
[ALMASDARNEWS] After two days of intense festivities, troops from the Syrian Army’s Elite Republican Guard have managed to impose full control over the district town of Jisreen in Damascus’ East Ghouta region.

The 48-hour battle witnessed government forces first seize the farmland and high points around Jisreen, followed by a storming of the district’s western neighborhoods and then a final push into the eastern residential areas.

The rollback of hard boy defenses inside Jisreen by Syrian troops was assisted with supporting fire from armor, artillery and warplanes (both Russian and Syrian).

The fall of the district town to the Syrian Army has major implications for rebel fighters ‐ now their main line of defense that guards the hard boy-controlled urban heartland of East Ghouta has been breached and there exists fewer prepared positions to effectively block follow up assaults by government forces towards Saqba and Kafr Batna.

Jaysh Al-Islam claims anti-aircraft missile struck Syrian chopper in East Ghouta
[ALMASDARNEWS] Minutes ago, Jaish al-Islam
...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful...
published a statement claiming that their forces struck a Syrian Army chopper over the East Ghouta region of Damascus.

According to the statement, Jaish al-Islam fighters fired an anti-aircraft missile from their OSA system, scoring a direct hit on the Syrian Army chopper.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
the Jaish al-Islam statement did not clarify whether or not the Syrian Army chopper went down ‐ the Syrian military has not confirmed corroborated these claims.

The OSA surface-to-air system was captured by Jaish al-Islam in 2013, when their forces managed to capture a Syrian Air Defense base in the East Ghouta.

Monitor: Russian jets bomb Syrians in Ghouta town, Kremlin denies
[ARABNEWS] The Russian military said its planes had not taken part in the Syrian regime’s assault in Eastern Ghouta where a monitoring group says Arclight airstrikes killed 80 civilians in rebel-held zones on Friday.

"The claims of the SOHR (Syrian Observatory of Human Rights)... on the so-called Russian strikes in Eastern Ghouta are only one more piece of ’fake’ (news)," Russia’s defense ministry said, according to news agencies.

"Russian aviation has no military mission in Eastern Ghouta and has not undertaken any" in this region, it added.

The British-based Observatory, which says it determines whose planes carry out raids according to type, location, flight patterns and munitions used, said at least 76 non-combatants were killed in Russian air strikes on the southwestern Ghouta pocket on Friday.

A month-long government offensive on the rebel-held enclave on the outskirts of Damascus has killed at least 1,346 civilians, according to the Observatory, despite a United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
cease-fire calling for an end to the onslaught.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his shoulder. Ow! he exclaimed, with feeling......
thousands of civilians poured out of Eastern Ghouta on Thursday after a month-long bombardment brought the Syrian regime closer to recapturing the devastated rebel enclave close to Damascus. UN special envoy to Syria Staffane De Mistura said that UN teams were not coordination the civilian evacuation from eastern Ghouta towns.

Turkish intelligence agency working to evacuate radical groups in Eastern Ghouta
[Hurriyet Daily News] The Ottoman Turkish intelligence agency is undergoing efforts to remove radical groups from Eastern Ghouta through communication with moderate opposition groups in the field, in order to end the regime’s attacks on civilians in the last rebel stronghold that has been under siege by the Syrian government since 2013, according to sources.

"The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
is carrying out work through some moderate opposition, which are also represented in the Astana process, in order to evacuate radical elements from the region that have been shown by the regime as an excuse for attacks on civilians in Eastern Ghouta," Ottoman Turkish security sources told Hurriyet Daily News on condition of anonymity.

Turkey is concerned about the humanitarian emergency in East Ghouta and is trying to find a solution in a bid to prevent further civilian casualties, sources have said, noting that hundreds of civilians bit the dust and hundreds were maimed during attacks last week because of the regime’s air and land elements.

Turkey will focus on the evacuation of civilians from Syria’s East Ghouta in the upcoming period and its National Intelligence Agency (MIT) is carrying out work for the removal of al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
from the besieged area, Ottoman Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin said on March 15.

Greek court rejects Turkey’s request for extradition of eight soldiers
[ARABNEWS] A Greek appeals court on Friday rejected a Ottoman Turkish demand for the handover of eight Ottoman Turkish soldiers accused by Ankara of having played a direct role in the abortive coup against President Tayyip Erdogan in 2016.

It was the third extradition request Greek courts have refused, an issue which has further strained relations between the long uneasy NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
allies. The Greek court said it had concerns the eight would not face a fair trial in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
The group fled to Greece in a helicopter on July 16, 2016, as the coup attempt against Erdogan crumbled. Turkey says they are traitors and coup plotters.

In a unanimous decision, the Athens-based Court of Appeal rejected Turkey’s extradition request, filed on the basis of eight charges the soldiers face in their country.

Those charges included involvement in the coup, attempted murder, participation in an armed terrorist group, military desertion and theft of military material.

In its verdict, the court said the charges were vague and had introduced no new elements to materially sway earlier verdicts.

"In each case there are valid concerns of an unfair trial, and the risk of facing torture and humiliating behavior," a court official said, citing the verdict.

This Week in Guns, March 17th, 2018

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

You can't have a "National Conversation on Guns" if one side insists on lying. On Facebook post after post, I read the recitation of made up facts as though they are the Gospel, and if you challenge any of them they demand you give them a recitation, backing up what you are saying.

If this is an example of how the new set of gun control laws are being made; if these are the same people who are haranguing legislators to pass even more laws set against gun owners and their God given rights, then gun grabbers are venturing into territory they don't want to be in when the truth emerges.

I read these ideas all the time: only police should have guns.

The police will protect us from evil gun owners.

(Insert country name here) has far fewer gun deaths than the USA.

Pointing out any of the lies is like showing a cat a $100 dollar bill. What do you do when you have devoted your life to destroying God given rights? Do you appeal for forgiveness, or do you run and hide?

Loads.

Rantburg's summary for arms and ammunition:

Pistol ammunition prices were mixed. Rifle ammunition prices were mostly steady.

Prices for used pistols were mixed. Prices for used rifles were mostly higher.

Syrian Army announces full control of Jisreen in East Ghouta
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) High Command announced on Friday that their forces had taken full control of Jisreen after a short battle in the East Ghouta region.

Led by the Tiger Forces and 4th Division, the Syrian Arab Army was able to overpower the Salafist tough guys at Jisreen on Friday, following the capture of most of the farms surrounding the town.

With Jisreen captured, the Syrian Arab Army can now push further into the East Ghouta suburbs that are controlled by the Islamist bully boyz of Faylaq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham

6 more wimmin will finger Trump for sexual harassment
Trump's just living the dream.
Whoever is sponsoring these women is playing ugly politics, or at least trying to.
[DailyMail] The lawyer representing pornographic actress Stormy Daniels said Friday that six other women have approached him with similar accounts about past sexual flings with President Donald Trump – and confirmed his client's safety was threatened in order to keep her quiet.

During an interview on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' program, Michael Avenatti answered 'Yes' to the question of whether Daniels – whose real name is Stephanie Clifford – was 'threatened with physical harm.'

An hour later on CNN, he doubled down.

'I'm not alleging anything. I'm stating a fact. And the fact is that my client was physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump. The details surrounding that, she's going to discuss, I'm sure, on the "60 Minutes" interview on March 25,' Avenatti said.

'She's going to be able to provide very specific details about what happened here,' he claimed, but wouldn't say what her evidence might be.

Avenatti wouldn't tell the 'Morning Joe' hosts whether Daniels' life was threatened, but the revelation will raise the stakes of what has become a White House sideshow and elevate it into a serious legal matter.

Trump was a lawsuit target decades before running for president. I'm sure he and his advisors could write a book on "things you don't do, or even appear to have done."

The backgrounds of all the accusers will be, what's the phrase? "A blank slate." Except they won't be. Of course the MSM will paint anyone publicizing anything "untoward" as being Alex Jones' red headed step child.

Strzok-Page texts reveal personal relationship between FBI official and judge recused from Flynn case
[FOX] The federal judge who presided over former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s case last year before mysteriously being recused had a personal relationship with anti-Trump FBI official Peter Strzok, according to text mesages obtained and reviewed by Fox News.

The revelations about U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras are found in a new batch of text messages between Strzok and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page.

Contreras was appointed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) in 2016, a topic of conversation between Strzok and Page.

"Rudy is on the FISC! Did you know that?" Page texted Strzok on July 25, 2016. "Just appointed two months ago."

"I did," Strzok replied. "We talked about it before and after. I need to get together with him."

NFL free agent believes he remains unsigned because he protested with Colin Kaepernick
[AOL.com] Former San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid, who knelt during the national anthem with former teammate Colin Kaepernick to protest systemic inequality and police brutality, has gone unsigned so far in free agency, and he believes his protests are the cause. In a follow-up tweet, Reid went on to make it clear who he believes that league owners are responsible for his current circumstances. Last December Reid had acknowledged that his protests could hurt his chances of finding a new NFL team, as reported by ESPN at the time.

"I would say I understand that's a possibility," Reid said. "And I'm completely fine with it. The things that I've done, I stand by, and I've done that for my own personal beliefs. Like I said, I'm fine with whatever outcome happens because of that."As Sports Illustrated noted, Reid was the first player to join in Kaepernick's protests and has been a vocal in his support of the protests, even writing an op-ed in the New York Times explaining why they had decided to take a knee.

Reid, a former Pro Bowl safety, has good reason to believe that his protests are why he remains unsigned, given that Kaepernick went unsigned all of last season despite easily being good enough to merit at least a backup quarterback spot on an NFL roster.

Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the NFL accusing owners of conspiring to keep him out of the league and is still training to get another shot in the NFL.

Several Killed In Grenade Attack In Bosaso City
[RADIOSHABELLE] At least three people were killed and two others injured Thursday night in a grenade attack in Bosaso, the commercial citu of Somalia’s northeastern Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
region, police said.

Mohammed Jama, a police officer in Bosaso, confirmed the incident on Friday.

The attackers hurled hand grenades at security officers at a checkpoint in Bosaso, killing one soldier and two civilians, Jama told media.

Bosaso has seen several such attacks in recent months, all conducted by the al-Shabaab myrmidon group

"Abstaining from implementing the ruling of the Constitutional Court violates [Alpay’s] personal liberty and security and right to fair trial," said the ruling, referring to the related articles of the constitution.

"The rulings of the Constitutional Court are legally binding" it added, ordering the Ottoman Turkish state to pay Alpay 20,000 Ottoman Turkish Liras in indemnification.

The decision came upon an application by Alpay’s lawyers after a local court refused to release him despite an earlier Constitutional Court ruling on Jan. 11 that his rights had been violated.

UAE To Train Somaliland Forces Under Military Base Deal
[RADIOSHABELLE] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will train Somaliland adminstraion security forces as part of a deal to establish a military base in the semi-autonomous region, Somaliland’s president said on Thursday.

UAE government officials could not immediately be reached for comment ‐ but the UAE has committed to invest hundreds of million dollars in recent years in the territory on a strategically important stretch of coastline on the Gulf of Aden.

The UAE began construction last year of a base on a site at the airport of the Somaliland port city Berbera, and will be allowed to maintain a presence for 30 years.

The biggest threat to Somaliland is poverty.

Berbera is less than 300 km (190 miles) south of war-torn Yemen, where UAEtroops are fighting rebels as part of a Saudi-backed coalition.

President Muse Bihi Abdi said the UAEwould train police and military in Somaliland, which wants independence from war-torn Somalia but is not recognised internationally. He said he expected the agreement to be finalised within two months.

"They have the resources and the knowledge," Abdi told Rooters in an interview in Abu Dhabi.

San Diego ICE office arrests 115 Illegal Alens in 3-day operation
Adios Assholes!
[SanDiegoUnionTribune] Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers working out of the San Diego field office arrested 115 unauthorized immigrants over a large, three-day operation that ended Thursday, officials said.
we support the efforts to stop the flood
Though the field office covers both San Diego and Imperial counties, all but seven of the arrests were in San Diego County. Though arrests happened in cities across the county, many were concentrated in North County, according to Greg Archambeault, field officer director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in San Diego.

Officers from other parts of the country came to San Diego to help locate and arrest a targeted list of people who had criminal convictions or had been arrested on criminal charges, had been ordered deported by an immigration judge or had returned to the U.S. after being deported, Archambeault said.

"Operations like this reflect the vital work ERO officers do every day to protect the nation, uphold public safety and protect the integrity of our immigration laws and border controls," Archambeault said. "We will continue to conduct similar operations, while seeking to ultimately deport at-large criminal targets and other immigration fugitives who pose a threat to public safety."

Though reports of large-scale arrests have surfaced to much political controversy since President Donald Trump took office, this is the first such operation that the San Diego field office has publicized during his administration.

"We've done it under different administrations," Archambeault explained. "It's nothing new doing a large-scale operation, but we haven't had one here for some time."

It was coincidental that the operation started on the day of the president's visit to San Diego, he said.

The majority of those arrested were from Mexico, and other arrests included citizens of Honduras, Guatemala, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Peru.

ISIS offensive in southern Damascus forestalled after several days of fighting
[ALMASDARNEWS] The so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s (ISIS) offensive in the southern districts of Damascus has stalled after several days of fighting in Yarmouk Camp and al-Qadam.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army was able to forestall the Islamic State’s advance in al-Qadam after the terrorist group made an attempt to enter the central neighborhoods.

The source added that the Syrian Army firmly controls 70 percent of al-Qadam, with the Islamic State only possessing the eastern part of the district near the Yarmouk Camp axis.

ISIS was hoping to capture all of the al-Qadam after the rebels agreed to handover the district to the Syrian Army; however, the latter quickly entered al-Qadam in order to thwart any attempt by the terrorist group to expand further.

While ISIS still maintains control over most of Yarmouk Camp and eastern al-Qadam, the Syrian Arab Army is now in position to finally to strike back against the terrorist group.

Community gathered to watch 950-ton bridge move across Southwest 8th Street
One of the funniest articles I've ever had the pleasure of reading, because of the denouement.
[News.FIU.edu] Twelve-year-old Michelle Flores shared a special moment with her family at FIU this past Saturday: She and her sister Gabriela joined their parents, FIU alumni Leonor and Henry Flores MIS ’01, to watch a 950-ton section of a pedestrian bridge swing into its permanent position across Southwest 8th Street.

Leonor Flores ’98 is a project executive and one of 63 FIU alumni who work for MCM, the construction firm building the FIU-Sweetwater UniversityCity Bridge, which will further connect FIU and its northerly neighbor, the City of Sweetwater. She was excited to share her work with her family, especially Michelle, who is interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in school.

LHC asks govt why it froze accounts of and banned Hafiz Saeed's JuD, FIF
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered the federal government to explain why Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
's two organizations, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
(JuD) and its charity wing, the Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF), had been banned and their accounts frozen.

The order came during hearing of a petition filed by Saeed through senior lawyer A.K. Dogar, in which the JuD chief told the court that the Interior Ministry on Feb 10 had issued a notification to freeze the bank accounts of and take over assets associated with both organizations ‐ the JuD and the FIF ‐ under the Anti-Terrorism (amendment) Ordinance of 2018.

The petitioner alleged that the government of Pakistain had acted under the pressure of foreign powers, including the United States and India. He contended that Pakistain is a sovereign independent state and makes its own laws to govern its citizens.

He added that if there was a conflict between the laws of the land and any provision of the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Security Council Act, 1948, the law of the land shall prevail.

Saeed in his petition had asked the court to declare the impugned notification of the Interior Ministry null and void with regard to taking over the assets of the organizations.

In today's hearing, the federal government was ordered to submit its reply in court by March 29.

Saeed, who in November last year was set free from a 300-day-long house arrest, has been repeatedly accused by the US and India of criminal masterminding the 2008 attacks on the Indian financial capital that killed 166 people.

Saeed was declared a global terrorist by the US and UN over his alleged role in the Mumbai attacks. JuD is considered by the US and India to be a front for LeT, the bully boy group blamed for the attacks.

Syrian Kurds say Turkish shelling, strikes kill 20 in Afrin
[IsraelTimes] Ottoman Turkish military urges tens of thousands of residents still inside the town to leave and Kurdish Lions of Islam to surrender

Ottoman Turkish shelling and Arclight airstrikes on the northern Syrian Kurdish town of Afrin killed at least 20 civilians on Friday, Kurdish officials said, as the Ottoman Turkish military urged residents of the town to leave and the Syrian Kurdish Lions of Islam to surrender to besieging Ottoman Turkish forces.

The media office for the Syrian Democratic Forces, a Kurdish-led and US-backed force that operates in the Kurdish autonomous region in northern Syria, said that along with 20 killed, at least 30 were maimed in the attacks.

Victims lay dead in the streets in pools of blood, according to a video from the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors Syria’s seven-year civil war and which put the corpse count at 18.

Since their January offensive began, Ottoman Turkish forces have nearly encircled Afrin in an effort to drive the Syrian Kurdish fighters from the town and the surrounding region. Residents say they are facing bread, water, and electricity shortages.

Hundreds of civilians were seen leaving the town to neighboring villages on Thursday looking for relief. Tens of thousands of civilians are believed to still be inside.

Earlier Friday, Ottoman Turkish aircraft dropped flyers in Arabic and Kurdish on Afrin, asking residents to stay away from "terrorist positions" ‐ a reference to the Syrian Kurdish fighters ‐ and to not let themselves be used as "human shields."

The leaflets claimed that civilians desiring to flee Afrin would be guaranteed safety by the Ottoman Turkish military and urged Syrian Kurdish fighters to "trust the hand we extend to you."

"Come surrender! A calm and peaceful future awaits you in Afrin," the leaflets read.

Turkish forces shell Syria's Afrin, try to storm town from north: YPG

[AlAhram] Turkish forces shelled the Syrian town of Afrin heavily overnight and killed at least 18 people, and the Kurdish YPG fighters were waging battles with Turkish and allied forces trying to storm the town, a YPG spokesman said.

Brusk Hasakeh, the YPG spokesman in Afrin, said the Turkish forces and their Syrian militia allies were trying to storm Afrin from the north. "They are shelling in order to storm (Afrin)," Hasakeh said by phone. He said the YPG and its all-female affiliate, the YPJ, were waging battles with the attacking forces.

Erdogan says U.S. should withdraw Kurdish militants from east of Euphrates to cooperate with Turkey

[AlAhram] The United States should withdraw Syrian Kurdish militants from the east of the Euphrates river in Syria if it wants to cooperate with Turkey, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.

Speaking at a congress for his ruling AK Party in the northeastern province of Erzurum, Erdogan also said Ankara remained open to all cooperation offers regarding the Syrian town of Manbij, but was unsure what approach incoming U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would have on the issue.

Arabia
Saudi-led Coalition, Houthis reportedly held indirect talks to end war
[ALMASDARNEWS] Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, sees positive signs in negotiations with Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on settling the conflict in the country, but is not confident in their success, Ali Quhum, a member of the movement’s political administration, told Sputnik on Friday.

He said that Ansar Allah and Riyadh were holding indirect talks mediated by Oman. The negotiations are aimed at ending the civil war and the Saudi-led coalition’s military operation in Yemen.

"There are initial, in some way positive, signs [in the talks]," Quhum said.

A similar information has been shared by the Rooters news agency earlier in the day, which reported, citing two diplomats and two Yemeni officials, that Saudi officials met with the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
representatives as a part of their effort to counter the influence of Iran in the region and stop the ongoing conflict.

As the media outlet explained, the Saudi-led coalition’s actions based on the aim to curb Iran’s alleged pulling power in the region, connected, as Saudis assume, to the alleged ties between Iran and Houthis, denied by both sides. The Yemeni movement insists that they aim is the fight against the country’s corrupt politicians and Gulf states as a vassal to the West.

Negotiations With Saudi Arabia
According to Quhum, despite positive signs, the movement does not believe in negotiations with Saudi Arabia. He noted that Riyadh was trying to buy some time, but it does not intend to lift the blockade, nor to cease its intervention in Yemen’s civil war.

Quhum highlighted that reopening Yemen’s ports, including Hudaydah located on the Red Sea, had been addressed during the talks, adding that the parties had not yet agreed on any points.

With Rohingya gone, Myanmar's ethnic Rakhine seek Muslim-free 'buffer zone'
[DAWN] Buddhist flags hang limply from bamboo poles at the entrance to Koe Tan Kauk, a "model" village for ethnic Rakhine migrants colonists shuttled north to repopulate an area once dominated by Rohingya Moslems.

The new arrivals are moving to parts of Rakhine state mostly "cleared" of its Rohingya residents, whose villages were bulldozed and reduced to muddy stains on a landscape of lush farmland.

The Rakhine migrants colonists, who come from the poor but relatively stable south, are ─ for now ─ few in number. But they carry great expectations as the pioneers of a donor-led "Rakhinisation" plan to upend the demography of the once majority-Moslem area.

"We were really afraid of those Kalars and didn't plan to come here," Chit San Eain, a 28-year-old who has moved with her husband and toddler into a basic hut in Koe Tan Kauk tells AFP, using a pejorative term for Moslems.

"But now that they are no longer here, we have the chance to meet again with our relatives who live up here," she added, the ruins of a Rohingya settlement lying a few kilometres away.

Nearly 700,000 Rohingya have been driven from northern Rakhine into Bangladesh since August 25 last year by a Myanmar army offensive against Moslem murderous Moslems.

Another 300,000 Rohingya were pushed out from the south and centre of Rakhine by army campaigns stretching back to the late 1970s.

The UN has branded last year's military crackdown ethnic cleansing, with a top official saying it carried all the "hallmarks of genocide." Myanmar vigorously denies the allegations and says refugees are welcome to return.

Palestinians riot in W. Bank, Gaza in weekly protest of US Jerusalem recognition
[IsraelTimes] Seven demonstrators said maimed by Israeli fire along Gazoo border fence; two Israeli troops lightly hurt in West Bank riots

Hundreds of Paleostinians clashed with Israeli soldiers Friday in the West Bank and Gazoo Strip in a "day of rage" marking 100 days since US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Some 150 Paleostinians were said to have taken part in riots along the Gazoo border, with the Paleostinian Authority’s official Wafa news agency reporting seven demonstrators were maimed by Israeli fire during the festivities.

In the West Bank, hundreds of Paleostinians protested at a number of locations, with some throwing rocks and molotov cocktails at Israeli troops. Channel 10 reported that two Israeli soldiers were lightly maimed, with one taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba after a rock struck him in the face near Tulkarem.

The violent demonstrations came after Paleostinian factions in the West Bank and Gazoo Strip called Thursday for Paleostinians to protest Trump’s decision by staging rallies after Friday prayers. The protests were being held under the banner of "Friday rage for Jerusalem."

The Paleostinian National and Islamic Forces, a coalition consisting of various groups, called on Paleostinians to confront IDF soldiers and settlers immediately after prayers.

On Thursday, Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, issued a separate appeal to Paleostinians to participate in Friday’s protests. The terror group that rules the Gazoo Strip urged Paleostinians to initiate festivities with IDF soldiers and settlers, saying the rage should continue until Trump’s decision is withdrawn.

The so-called "day of rage" was the latest in a series of weekly demonstrations, many of them violent, which have taken place since the December 6 announcement. The protests shrunk in size after the first few weeks.

Also Friday, Israel’s military liaison to the Paleostinians issued a warning to Hamas, a day after two improvised bombs were detonated against a military patrol vehicle driving along the border in northern Gazoo.

"The provocations by Hamas and other terrorist organizations could lead to an escalation" of violence along the Gazoo border, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, wrote in his Facebook page.

He said the kaboom could have damaged a nearby sewer treatment facility that serves 300,000 Paleostinians in Gazoo.

There were no Israeli injuries reported in the IED attack, to which the IDF responded with tank fire.

It was not immediately clear which terrorist group in the Gazoo Strip set off the explosives. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
in accordance with its policy of holding Gazoo’s Hamas rulers responsible for any act of violence emanating from the coastal enclave, the army said it targeted several of the organization’s military positions.

"IDF troops retaliated by firing from a tank at positions belonging to the Hamas terrorist group," the army said.

The military later clarified that in addition to striking Hamas targets, it hit a site belonging to the Iran-backed Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
group. In total, the army said it struck five terrorist positions in Gazoo.

Another 100 tested positive for HIV/AIDS in Sargodha
[DAWN] SARGODHA: Up to 100 more people have been tested positive for HIV/AIDS after a recent screening of the people in the Kot Imrana locality, health department officials say.

The neighbourhood had attracted the attention of the government and the media after screening by the health department had found 37 people the carrier of HIV/AIDS virus a few months ago.

A special centre has been set up at the Kot Momin Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the virus carriers are provided free treatment and counseling, according to District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Nusrat Riaz.

He said the disease had spread in the area due to the usage of used syringe by a quack. He said Dr Sikandar Hayat Warraich was supervising the dedicated unit set up at the Sargodha District Headquarters Teaching Hospital.

He said the health department was serving better than private hospitals. He said that special incentives had been given to doctors working in remote areas.

There is sufficient material in it for several posts, but some of the most alarming facts in it have to do with North Korea’s assistance to Syria with its ballistic missiles and chemical weapons, so that’s where I’ll begin.

'Clitoris Collector' Sentenced to Life in Prison
Despicable.
[All Africa] Danish national Peter Frederiksen, who was placed in durance vile
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
after 21 clitorises were found in his freezer, has been sentenced to two life terms in prison for rape and conspiracy to commit murder.

Frederiksen was sentenced in the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein on Thursday.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Phaladi Shuping said apart from two life sentences for rape and conspiracy to murder, Frederiksen was also given 52 years for charges including assault, loss of firearms, conveyance and possession of unregistered medication and production of child pornography.

Frederiksen was arrested on September 17, 2015, at his home in Langenhoven Park, Bloemfontein.

He was also investigated for the murder of his wife, 28-year-old Anna Matseliso Molise, who was shot four times outside her home in Maseru, Lesotho, on October 20, 2015.

Shuping said Frederiksen initially faced 58 charges at the start of his trial, but Judge Johann Daffue dropped 20 charges related to illegally removing human tissues over a technicality as "the National Health Act does not clearly indicate the nature of penalties that should be imposed to any person who contravenes the act".

"He was also sentenced to a fine of R5 000 or six months' imprisonment for providing false information in order to remain in the Republic of South Africa," Shuping said.

Shuping added that Frederiksen was also declared unfit to possess firearm. The judge also ordered that his name should be included in the national register for sex offenders.

"The NPA welcomes this sentence with the hope that it will serve as a deterrent to like-minded people," said Shuping.

Bassil Asks UNRWA to Unregister Palestinians who Leave Lebanon
How very odd...
[AnNahar] Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil on Thursday called on the U.N. agency for Paleostinian refugees UNRWA to "unregister every Paleostinian refugee who stays outside Leb or acquires the citizenship of another country."

"This would alleviate its financial burden and would contribute to lowering the numbers of Paleostinian refugees in Leb without harming the right to return (to Paleostinian territories occupied in 1948 and 1967), which is sacred," Bassil told a Rome summit aimed at discussing UNRWA's future.

The UN agency faces an unprecedented crisis after the U.S. froze tens of millions of dollars in funding.

"We call on the international community to organize a campaign for the voluntary return of Paleostinian refugees, seeing as all the prerequisites of a safe and dignified return are available," Bassil added.

Lebanese authorities had in December announced that more than 174,000 Paleostinian refugees live in Leb, in the first-ever census of its kind for a country where demographics have long been a sensitive subject.

The census was carried out by the government's Lebanese-Paleostinian Dialogue Committee in 12 Paleostinian camps as well as 156 informal "gatherings" across the country.

The result of 174,422 Paleostinian refugees is much lower than previous estimates of up to 500,000.

Paleostinians began taking refuge in Leb with the creation of Israel in 1948, setting up camps that have since transformed into bustling, urban districts.

But their presence has long been a controversial in Leb, with many blaming it for the eruption of the bitter war that ravaged the country between 1975 and 1990.

Leb has not carried out a census of its own citizens since 1932, making the 2017 count even more remarkable.

It sheds light on the living conditions of 174,422 Paleostinian refugees, as well as another 18,601 Paleostinians who fled the neighboring conflict in Syria to camps in Leb.

Leb's Paleostinian camps suffer serious problems, with varying degrees of poverty, overcrowding, unemployment, poor housing conditions and lack of infrastructure.

Announcing the results, Prime Minister Saad Hariri
Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
has him bumped off, too.

said Leb had a "duty" towards Paleostinians but insisted that Leb would, under no circumstances, accept their naturalization.

Paleostinian officials have also consistently rejected permanent resettlement in Leb because of their longstanding demand that those who fled or were forced out of their homes with the creation of Israel be granted the right of return.

The census result is much lower than the 469,331 people registered in Leb with the U.N.'s Paleostinian refugee agency.

"UNRWA does not have a headcount of Paleostinian refugees who are currently residing in Leb. What we have as an agency are official registration records for the number of registered Paleostine refugees in Leb," spokeswoman Huda Samra told AFP at the time.

"If someone registered with UNRWA in Leb decided to live outside Leb, they don't notify us," she said.

Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) ‐ Two civilians were maimed Friday as a bomb went kaboom! near a popular market in southeastern Baghdad, a security source was quoted as saying.

Speaking to Alghad Press, the source said, "A bomb placed by unknown people in al-Mada’in district in southeastern Baghdad went off, leaving two civilians maimed."

"A security force cordoned off the blast site and carried the maimed to a nearby hospital for treatment," the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, pointed out.

Kenya: Ethiopians Cross Into Kenya After Deadly Military Attacks
[All Africa] The Kenyan part of Moyale town is staring at a possible humanitarian crisis. The town straddles the porous Æthiopian-Kenyan border and the number of refugees fleeing a military operation in Æthiopia is rising by the hour. Education has been crippled in the Kenyan town as schools closed down to host the asylum seekers. Some people are nursing gunshot wounds and humanitarian agencies are calling for urgent assistance.

At Kenya's Moyale Hospital, doctors have been overwhelmed by the number of people seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Public health officer Sacha Tacho describes the situation: "We have another very sick patient in the ward, with a bullet in the neck, the bullet is still in the neck and we cannot remove it here in Moyale."

Solomon Gubo, the Deputy Governor of Moyale County, says that they are helping the refugees to settle in, but it is proving to be a challenge especially due to the heavy rains and insufficient humanitarian assistance. "There is no housing, there is no food; that is the challenge we are facing as of now," says Gubo.

A military operation that started almost one week ago triggered the sudden influx of people from Æthiopia. The government in Addis Ababa had announced the deployment of soldiers to the Moyale area, saying that they were pursuing fighters of the Oromo Liberation Front, which the government has banned as a terrorist group.

According to the government-run Æthiopian News Agency, some soldiers then launched an attack based on a faulty intelligence report. The forces reportedly killed at least nine people and injured 12. The government has said it has now disarmed five of the officers involved and declared that they would now face an investigation and military court.

Government explanation 'not acceptable'
Speaking to DW earlier this week, Taye Dendea, spokesperson of the state-run Oromia Justice Bureau, condemned the government's actions. "After killing unarmed people in broad daylight, trying to argue that it happened due to wrong information is not acceptable," Dendea told DW.

"This is a premeditated crime and it is also a war crime against the people. Firing a machine gun at people in their house, daily laborers on the street, people trading in their shops and people eating at restaurant is totally unacceptable. This did not happen based on wrong information. Saying this itself is an insult to the people. Even some of them were told to kneel and were shot on the spot."

DW has confirmed that on Thursday Dendea was detained for questioning.

The future of South Sudan lies with the Arabs
[ARABNEWS] When it emerged last week that the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
had refused a membership request by South Sudan ‐ followed by a denial of such an application by a South Sudanese official, who said it had only asked to become an "observer" ‐ I recalled an interview I carried out before secession with Salva Kiir Mayardit, who is now the country’s prime minister.

His mastery of Arabic was not any less than any other Sudanese person. It was a long interview, in which he said that he welcomed any Arab or Moslem in South Sudan, but he spoke as well about the sense of injustice and neglect felt among Southerners toward the people of the North. When I moved on to record a TV interview, Kiir asked to do it in English. I asked him to speak in Arabic, which he speaks fluently, because the interview would be broadcast on Egyptian TV to an Arabic-speaking audience, but he insisted on English.

Europe
Belgium ends Saudi lease of country’s largest mosque over radicalism concerns
[IsraelTimes] Government retakes control of Grand Mosque of Brussels due to fears it is promoting myrmidon teachings and segregationist attitudes

Belgium’s government has ended Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s lease on the Grand Mosque of Brussels over fears the house of worship was being used to promote radical agendas, Rooters reported Friday.

"The concession will be terminated immediately ... in order to put an end to foreign interference in the way Islam is taught in Belgium," the government said.

The mosque, Belgium’s largest, was leased to the Saudis in 1969 for 99 years without charge as part of a deal for cheaper oil.

But with growing concern over Islamic extremism in the continent, and reports of possible radical teachings and segregationist attitudes at the institution, Belgian leaders have in recent months sought to end its foreign ties.

"In this way we are tackling Salafist, violent myrmidon influences," Interior Minister Jan Jambon tweeted.

The mosque will henceforth be administered locally.

"From now on, the mosque will have to establish a lasting relation with the Belgian authorities, while respecting the laws and the traditions of our country, which convey a tolerant vision of Islam," Justice Minister Koen Geens said.

Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
has seen increased scrutiny of mosques and their teachings following an uptick in attacks by Islamists in recent years. Houses of worship have been shuttered in La Belle France, the UK and Germany, among others.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Senior Kurdish official, key to US policy in Syria, killed
[IsraelTimes] Omar Alloush, found dead in his apartment, played an important role in forming the US-backed civil council for Raqqa

A senior Kurdish official who played a key role with the United States in implementing its post-Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
policy in northern Syria has been found dead in his apartment, Kurdish officials said Thursday.

Omar Alloush’s death is a blow to the post-IS efforts in the region, as he played a key role in mediating between Arabs and Kurds and in shaping US policy in the area.

The main Kurdish party in Syria said Thursday the death of Alloush is under investigation and officials suspect foul play.

Alloush was found dead in his apartment in Tal Abyad, a majority Arab town in northern Syria where he helped set up a joint Arab-Kurd administrative council after it was liberated from IS in 2015.

Alloush moved on to play a key role in forming the US-backed civil council for Raqqa, also a majority Arab town which was also the de-facto capital of IS. Raqqa was cleared of the group last year after months of fighting.

Alloush and other Arab tribal leaders were instrumental in negotiating a deal with the remnants of IS to evacuate the city after they were squeezed into a small sliver of land.

The October evacuation deal allowed a number of IS fighters to leave Raqqa in a convoy of vehicles, sparking criticism that the fighters were let off the hook. The US-led coalition said it was not involved in the negotiations, which aimed to save lives.

Another Arab mediator who played a key role in an evacuation deal of IS from Tabqa, a town near Raqqa, was also found killed last month in Syria.

Top Kurdish official Fawza Yusef said Alloush’s killing is a blow to joint Arab-Kurdish action and social peace following the defeat of IS.

"Omar Alloush had a key role in forming the Raqqa city council and in developing the concept of coexistence in Tal Abyad, Raqqa and Tabqa," she said, naming also another major town west of Raqqa that was recaptured from IS.

Those who killed him "want to incite sedition between ethnic groups and ignite internal infighting," she said.

Yusef accused The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
of being behind the liquidation of Alloush, saying he received threats before. Turkey views the dominant Kurdish militia, which is the US partner in the fight against IS in Syria, as a terrorist group.

Nicholas Heras, a Middle East Security Fellow at the Washington-based Center for a New American Security, said Alloush’s suspected killing was a "terrible blow" to the US efforts to stabilize Raqqa and therefore US strategy in Syria. The Kurdish-led forces have "a big bulls eye on its back and the road ahead will not be easy."

Arabia
Hackers Tried to Cause Saudi Petrochemical Plant Blast
[SecurityWeek] Cyber-attackers tried to trigger a deadly explosion at a petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia in August and failed only because of a code glitch, The New York Times reported.

Investigators declined to identify the suspected attackers, but people interviewed by the newspaper unanimously said that it most likely aimed to cause a blast that would have guaranteed casualties. A bug in the attackers' code accidentally shut down the system instead, according to the report.

The cyber-attack -- which could signal plans for other attacks around the world -- was likely the work of hackers supported by a government, according to multiple insiders interviewed by the newspaper.

All sources declined to name the company operating the plant as well as the countries suspected to have backed the hackers, The New York Times said.

Security experts however told the newspaper that Iran, China, Russia, Israel and the United States had the technical capacity to launch an attack of that magnitude.

There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia, which has come under frequent cyber-attacks, including "Shamoon", the aggressive disc-wiping malware that hit the Saudi energy sector in 2012.

Saudi Aramco, the world's biggest oil company, was among the firms hit by Shamoon, which was believed then to be the country's worst cyber-attack yet.

US intelligence officials at the time said they suspected a link to the kingdom's regional rival Iran.

But the August attack was "much more dangerous" than Shamoon, according to The New York Times, and likely aimed to send a political message -- investigators said the code had been custom-built with no obvious financial motive.

Tasnee, the Saudi Arabian industrialisation company, had also been attacked by hackers in January 2017, according to Tasnee officials and researchers with the Symantec cybersecurity company interviewed by the newspaper.

The attack destroyed the company's hard drives, wiped all data and replaced it with the now-iconic image of Aylan Kurdi, the Syrian boy in a red T-shirt who washed up dead on the Turkish coast.

Saudi Arabia was also hit by Powershell malware targeting government computers in November.

Two women arrested for breaking into US Islamic center
Given historic precedent, what is the probability the women are actually somehow connected to the mosque?
[IsraelTimes] Videos show the intruders urging their children to hate Moslems by trespassing onto Arizona mosque grounds, stealing Koran and leaflets

Two women were placed in durance vile
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
Thursday for breaking into an Islamic center in Arizona and filming themselves making anti-Islamic remarks, police said.

Tahnee Gonzales and Elizabeth Dauenhauer were arrested for third-degree burglary "after the investigation revealed they entered onto the property of the Tempe Islamic Center and subsequently removed various items," local police front man Ron Elcock said in a statement.

"Based on the details of the crime an enhancement of hate crime will be considered for sentencing," he said.

The women posted several videos on Facebook showing them entering the center, making insulting remarks about Moslems and encouraging their children to repeat them.

Ahmad al-Akoum, the center’s director of inter-faith relations and one of its imams, told AFP that the incident took place the morning of March 4, when no one else was present.

A local journalist saw the videos and alerted the mosque, whose leaders then checked their surveillance footage and saw the women taking copies of the Islamic holy book the Koran as well as leaflets, and tearing up documents affixed to a bulletin board.

Mosque officials then contacted police.

"They were teaching their children to be hateful, it was very disturbing," al-Akoum said of the women.

He said that his mosque and others around Phoenix have regularly been subjected to harassment "for a long time, almost since 2001," referring to the year of the September 11 attacks.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Two soldiers killed, 2 hurt in car-ramming terror attack in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian driver hits 4 troops along road outside Mevo Dotan settlement, south of Jenin.

A Paleostinian driver hit four Israeli soldiers with his car Friday afternoon, killing two of them and seriously injuring the others, outside the Mevo Dotan settlement in the northern West Bank.

The military confirmed that the incident was a terror attack. The driver was injured and placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
at the scene, the army said. According to Hadashot news he is known to security forces and has in the past been incarcerated for terror-related activities.

Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, welcomed the attack, saying it "proves our people’s readiness to continue the Jerusalem intifada." The Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group also said it "commends" the attack and "calls for further attacks against the Zionist occupation. Paleostinian groups had called for Friday to be a "day of rage," in response to US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December.

The car-ramming occurred next to an army observation post along the 585 highway near the entrance to Mevo Dotan, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Jenin.

Video from the scene showed Israeli and Paleostinian medics treating the maimed. The area was also filled with IDF personnel, who inspected the wrecked car, which was tangled in barbed wire.

One of the victims was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. A second died a short time later, after attempts to save his life failed. Two more were at death's door, according to the ZAKA emergency response organization.

The injured soldiers were taken by helicopter to Petah Tikva’s Beilinson Medical Center for treatment, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

The driver was lightly maimed and taken to Hillel Yaffe hospital in Hadera.

A second Paleostinian man was treated by the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy medical service. It was not immediately clear how he was involved.
A subsequent Times of Israel article adds:
The driver was identified as Ala Qabha, 26, of the village of Barta’a in the northern West Bank.

Haaretz reported that Qabha was released from Israeli prison in April of last year after completing a 17-month sentence, though there were no immediate details on his crime. According to Hadashot news he was incarcerated for security-related activities.

Paleostinian media reported that military forces searched the Qabha family’s home in Barta’a and questioned family members following the attack. Qabha’s brother was placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
, and the Israeli work permits of several family members were revoked.

Meanwhile Qabha’s family claimed the incident was an accident and not an attack, with one relative telling Haaretz that the young man was a painter, and had been on his way home from Jenin after buying supplies. "He’s not politically affiliated and doesn’t belong to any organization," he said.

UN chief demands end to Hezbollah meddling in Syria
Because that will work in the face of another Russian veto protecting client states Iran and Syria.
[IsraelTimes] Antonio Guterres says terror group's weapons limit Lebanese government's ability to exercise 'full illusory sovereignty and authority over its territory'.

United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
chief Antonio Guterres urged all Lebanese parties to stop meddling in the Syrian conflict, in a report naming the Leb-based and Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group.

"The presence of unauthorized weapons in the hands of Hezbollah remains of serious concern and warrants condemnation," the secretary-general said in a quarterly report distributed to the 15 Security Council members ahead of a debate set for Tuesday.

Noting that "crises in the region continue to pose a risk to Leb’s stability," Guterres said he was still "concerned" about "almost daily" Israeli overflights of Lebanese territory in violation of a UN resolution and Lebanese illusory sovereignty.

In the area of operations of the UN’s UNIFIL mission in southern Leb, involving some 10,500 troops, the situation "remained generally calm."

And the UN chief hailed the mission’s increased visibility and activities aimed at halting hostilities.

NPA Reinstates Charges Against Former President Jacob Zuma
[All Africa] The NPA has reinstated 18 charges of corruption, money laundering and racketeering against former president Jacob Zuma.

The charges relate to 783 questionable payments Zuma allegedly received in connection with the controversial multi-billion rand arms deal."I am of the view that there are reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution of Mr Zuma," embattled NPA boss Shaun Abrahams said on Friday.

He said he notified Zuma on his decision earlier in the day.

Former NPA boss Mokotedi Mpshe dropped the charges in 2009, based on the recordings of the so-called "spy tapes", which were presented to him by Zuma's legal team.

The tapes were made up of recordings of telephone conversations between then Scorpions boss Leonard McCarthy and former NPA boss Bulelani Ngcuka, which Zuma's legal team claimed showed political interference in the decision to charge him.

The charges were subsequently withdrawn, just before Zuma was sworn in for his first term as president.
