Chattanooga jihad murderer texted Islamic verse to friend before attack
[Jihad Watch] CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Reuters) -- Hours before the Tennessee shooting that killed five U.S. servicemen, the suspected gunman texted his close friend a link to a long Islamic verse that included the line: "Whosoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine, then I have declared war against him."

The friend, who requested anonymity, showed the text message to Reuters on Saturday. He said he thought nothing of the message at the time, but now wonders if it was a hint at Thursday's attack in Chattanooga.

The suspect, Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, a 24-year-old Kuwaiti-born naturalized U.S. citizen, was killed in a gunfight with police. The FBI is investigating the shooting as an act of terrorism, but said it was premature to speculate on the gunman's motive.

The rampage has re-ignited concerns about the radicalization of young Muslim men. Abdulazeez's friends said he returned from a trip to Jordan in 2014 concerned about conflicts in the Middle East and the reluctance of the United States and other countries to intervene.

After the trip, he purchased three assault rifles on an online marketplace and used them for target practice, the friends said.

"He expressed that he was upset about (the Middle East). But I can't imagine it drove him to this," said the friend who received the text message....

Afghanistan
Roadside bomb kills six Afghan policemen
[DAWN] A roadside kaboom killed six coppers in western Afghanistan on Saturday, as they were patrolling on the first day of the Moslem holiday of Eidul Fitr, officials said.

The bomb tore through a police vehicle in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
, a relatively peaceful province, provincial police front man Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told AFP.

"A mine planted by the turbans hit a police vehicle in Guzara district yesterday morning, leaving six coppers dead and three more maimed," Ahmadi said.

Africa North
11 Soldiers Killed in Algeria Ambush
[AnNahar] Eleven soldiers were killed in an overnight ambush carried out by suspected Islamists in a wooded region southwest of the Algerian capital, El Khaber newspaper reported Saturday on its website.

There was no immediate confirmation of the incident from the defense ministry, but it was widely circulated on websites and social media.

The ambush took place on Friday night at the start of the Eid al-Fitr holidays marking the end of the Moslem fasting month of Ramadan.

El Khaber, which cited security sources, said it took place on the road to Tifran, a wooded area south of Ain Defla, 140 kilometers (85 miles) from the capital.

It said the assailants targeted an army unit headed for an advance post in the bush and managed to flee before reinforcements arrived.

Ain Defla was a bastion of gangs in the 1990s when Islamist-linked violence rocked Algeria. The unrest has since waned.

But the defense ministry said last week that more than 100 armed Islamists have been killed, captured or have repented in the first half of 2015.

More than 100 Islamists were killed last year, according to the army.
The Times of Israel adds:
Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) claimed the attack in an unverified statement posted online late on Saturday night.

"The knights of Islam have, on the first night of Eid killed 14 soldiers in an ambush on an army platoon in the area of Djebel Louh," it said, adding that the attackers managed to escape unharmed after seizing the dead troops' weapons.

Three soldiers killed, four injured in militant attack in North Sinai - Egypt army
[AlAhram] Three Egyptian army soldiers were killed and four injured in a krazed killer attack by bully boyz on Saturday evening against a security checkpoint south of the town of Sheikh Zueid in North Sinai, a military front man said.

Spokesman Mohammed Samir said on his official Facebook page that the army had been engaging the murderous Moslems in battle in three different areas south of the town. He said that the army destroyed two vehicles and killed a number of murderous Moslems in the Al-Hamadein area near Al-Zawarae, south of Sheikh Zuweid.

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
's Egypt affiliate, Sinai Province, has grabbed credit for the attack in a statement carried on a social media website.

Earlier in the evening, state news agency MENA had reported that five soldiers were killed and seven injured in a krazed killer attack against Abu Refae security checkpoint south of Sheikh Zuweid.

Security sources had told MENA that "terrorists" attacked the checkpoint with live ammunition and bombs.

On 1 July, Islamic State group murderous Moslems launched multiple attacks against army and security forces in and around Sheikh Zuweid, leaving 21 soldiers dead.

In the past two weeks, the Egyptian army, which regained control over the town on the same day after fierce battles, has been carrying out intense strikes against krazed killer hideouts which reportedly left more than 200 murderous Moslems dead.

39 militants killed in north, central Sinai: Egyptian military
[AlAhram] The Egyptian military said it had killed a total of 39 militants in raids in two cities in the Sinai Peninsula on Saturday.

Official spokesman Brigadier General Mohamed Samir said in an official statement that the Egyptian army had raided Sheikh Zuwaid’s southern district of Lafetat and Rafah's southern district of Masaid, killing 14 militants.

Another 25 militants were killed in Om Shaihan village and in the district of East Al-Batour in central Sinai, Samir said in a separate statement.

The spokesman released two videos showing two "bomb-laden vehicles" as they were blown up by the military.

He also announced the arrest of four alleged militants who he said were responsible for planting improvised explosive devices in locations in North Sinai.

Raids by the Egyptian military against Islamist militants have increased after coordinated attacks on 1 and 2 July by Islamic State affiliated group Sinai Province (formerly known as Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis) left at least 21 soldiers dead in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah.

Scores ill in Zliten from food poisoning
[Libya Herald] Eid El-Fitr holiday celebrations went disastrously wrong for Zliten diners, when scores were rushed to hospitals suffering from severe food poisoning.

More than 100 people presented with abdominal pains, fever and diarrhoea. A senior municipal guard was quoted by Press Solidarity as saying that interviews with the victims quickly established that they had all eaten at the Al-Amedi restaurant in the town.

When officials visited the eatery they discovered it was closed and they were unable to find the owner. Though no one has died from the poisoning, a number of those stricken have been kept in hospital for treatment. It is likely that other customers were less seriously affected and decided not to go to Accident and Emergency.

The municipality has now vowed to crack down on hygiene in restaurants.

jihadists killed 16 civilians in an attack this week on a southeast Niger village, near the Nigerian border, a local official said Saturday.

"On July 15, Boko Haram elements fired on locals who were praying in a village near the town of Bosso," said Bako Mamadou, mayor of Bosso, a town in southeast Niger on the border with Nigeria, where the armed Islamist group originated.

"They killed 15 people on the spot and another person succumbed later to their wounds," Mamadou said on state television

According to the Bosso mayor, four others were maimed in the attack.

Meanwhile the Niger army said Saturday it had killed 32 Boko Haram fighters from July 15-17 during "sweeping up" operations following the July 15 attack by "Boko Haram elements".

The defense ministry added that three Islamist fighters were taken into custody, adding that Chadian soldiers also took part in the operation.

The bombings came on the day the country's new army chief was due to visit the city to meet soldiers battling Boko Haram.

Buhari is expected to use Monday's meeting with Obama to push for US help to tackle the terrorist violence, which has surged since he took office in May, claiming more than 700 lives.

In the Nigerian attacks, residents said twin kabooms near a prayer ground in Damaturu killed two people, before a third blast moments later near a mosque that left another 11 dead.

Markus Danladi, Yobe state police commissioner, confirmed 13 people were killed.

"The attacks were carried out by three underage girls. Fifteen people were also injured in the attacks."

Fake Victories for Pro-Hadi, Qaeda Militiamen in Aden: Sources
[ALMANAR.LB] Yemeni sources have refuted rumors that the holy warriors of al-Qaeda and runaway president Abd Rabbu Mnasour Hadi had controlled the southern city of Aden.

The sources told al-Manar that fierce festivities are taking place between the holy warriors and the army backed by the popular committees.

Aden mapThe holy warriors were backed by intensified Saudi-led air strikes, the sources said, noting that the raids aim at achieving what the battlefield could not do.

"Al-Qaeda and Hadi holy warriors did not advance but in the international airport. Elsewhere, the holy warriors advanced towards the bridge in Khormakser, but they did not manage to enter the town as circulated by pro-Saudi media," the sources said.

Meanwhile,

dozens of al-Qaeda bad boyz were potted near Aden International Airport, according to the sources.

Yemeni Missiles Target Strategic Military Bases in Southern Saudi Arabia

on Friday in retaliation for Riyadh's continued Arclight airstrikes on Yemen.

The Yemeni forces hit al-Moazab military base with 10 missiles and al-Khoube military base with 6 missiles today.

The Yemeni army -- backed by the Popular Committees -- also destroyed the watch tower of Al-Hasira military base in Jizan.

Yemeni Army Spokesman Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman said in a statement that the missiles hit and destroyed the target in precision attacks.

Earlier in the day, civilian targets were pummeled by Saudi air raids in the Northwestern province of Sa'ada in which large groups of people bit the dust.

Anti-Houthi forces advance in Yemen amid heavy Arab air strikes

forces overnight, residents and officials said, building on a week of gains against the country's dominant faction.

The advances come a day after Yemen's government in exile declared the key southern city of Aden "liberated," in their biggest victory yet in a Saudi-led air campaign and civil war that has raged almost four months and killed more than 3,500 people.

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces backed up by air strikes seized the Labuza army base in restive Lahj

Officials in the anti-Houthi forces say the offensive was planned for weeks and benefited from training and arms deliveries from Soddy Arabia

and the United Arab Emirates.

The war in Yemen has pitted the Sunni Moslem Gulf states, which support the exiled government, against the Shi'ite Houthis allied to Iran, in a conflict that has further raised the stakes as the Middles East grapples with regional rivalries and sectarian strife.

But power struggles have simmered for years in the impoverished and conflict-wracked country, and fighters in Yemen's south -- the setting for most of the recent battles -- have long sought independence from the North, the Houthis' home.

Residents said Houthi forces and their allies in Yemen's army made an attempt to regroup and take back northern fringes of Aden on Friday, firing rockets at the Khor Maksar district.

Their push was repelled, anti-Houthi fighters said, and an offensive backed by air strikes is underway to take Anad air base, one of Yemen's largest, 60 km (40 miles) north of Aden.

#1  I doubt the Pentagon and the Army will permit National Guard recruiters to be armed in shared space Army recruiting centers.
Posted by: Besoeker || 07/19/2015 8:04 Comments || Top||

#2  Besoeker,

Traditionally, Guard and Reserve recruiters are located at Guard and Reserve installations - they don't share facilities. Army Guard recruiters are usually at armories, which have weapons and ammo and lots of combat experienced Guardsmen while Air Guard recruiters tend to be on ANG bases, so you have to get past armed guards to get to them. AF Reserve are also usually on secured bases, while Army/USN/USMC Reserve tend to be more at individual facilities much like NG armories - but still with a bunch more people in much harder buildings to crack than a strip mall recruiting office.

All of the above should pretty much point out that when Recruiting offices get hit, its because somebody has made a conscious effort to hit a relatively soft target. I know that the orders for Guard to be able to carry on post helps, but for the most part they're doing it someplace that isn't likely to be hit by a Lone Wolf(TM).

#5  OK - this is RANT-burg, right? For RANTING. I want to "rant".

It is time for the US to reactivate WWII style resettlement centers - then for Japanese - now for Muslims.

The war between the US and Islam is more dangerous to the US mainland now, than was the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces to the 48-state mainland in 1942.

Put the NSA to useful work, for a change, and have them screen every e-mail and Social Media correspondence involving a Muslim resident of the USA - and if anything other than "God Bless America" is being transmitted - then start shipping them off - to:

Indiantown Gap, PA
Camp Blanding, FL
Ft. Chafee, AR
Ft. Devens, MA
Ft. Dix, NJ
Ft. A.P Hill, VA
Ft. Polk, LA
Ft. Orde, CA

and 100 more. I don't know the locations of the FEMA camps - but we've paid for them - let's start using them.

Feed the barbarians, and slowly let selected ones out - preferably after they apostate themselves.

Muslims in any sort of concentration above ten individuals are a mortal threat to the American way of life - and are incompatible with normal civilized Americans.

There are benign Muslims - but it is difficult to separate them from their death-eater brethren. It's not our problem - lock them up for the duration of the global conflict between Islam and normal human civilization.

If we do not do as I request above, then - 100 years hence - small surviving banks of non-Muslims with be gathering in secret, on the run from the Sharia barbarians, and lamenting among themselves: "WTF were our ancestors thinking, to have let this unholy pestilence fester and propagate itself from a tiny, unproductive population of malcontents, into a global existential menace."

Let's stop pretending: these are our mortal enemies. Mere adherence to that cult marks a civil defect that needs to be quarantined away from other Americans.

End of rant.

#7  Executive 9066 etc. was upheld by the US Supreme Court in Korematsu. Justice Scalia has already gone on record (years ago) as saying internment of US citizens extra-judicially could happen again in times of emergency.
Seeing what has happened in the USA these last 25 years, any US citizen (except for Muslims, especially black ones) will be the first to go into the camps (or up against the wall).
"The war between the US and Islam is more dangerous to the US mainland now" - a minority view. The 47% think their greatest danger is losing their government cheese.

Iraq
Warplanes hammer Islamic State-held Hawija
[Rudaw] A police official said warplanes resumed Arclight airstrikes before dawn Saturday against ISIS bases in the occupied Arab town of Hawija, in southern of Kirkuk province, killing several of the Death Eater group's senior members.

"The US-led warplanes pounded several ISIS positions before dawn at 00:30 on Saturday in Hawija, killing several leaders and hard boyz of the Islamic state," Brigadier Sarhad Qadir, police chief of Kirkuk province, told Rudaw.

"We have obtained information that six local leaders of the jihadist group are among the casualties."

Hawija is a district of Kirkuk province, roughly 45 km south of Kurdish-controlled Kirkuk city.

The Arab-majority district was greatly altered by the so-called Arabization process of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussien. The once-Kurdish city has only two Arab families in 1940, according to reports.

The city has been under the control of ISIS for more than a year. Several months ago, 17 Kurdish Peshmerga fighters were paraded through the streets in cages. The fate of the Peshmerga is still unknown.

The Sunni bad boy group has been behind several similar large-scale attacks on civilians or military checkpoints as it seeks to expand its territory. The group currently controls about a third of Iraq and Syria in a self-declared caliphate.

In August last year, at least 64 people were killed in an attack on a Sunni mosque in Diyala in what locals believed was a retaliatory attack against Diyala tribes that refused to proclaim loyalty to the Islamic State

The United States has spent billions arming and training the Iraqi military, but it performed poorly last year when Islamic State murderous Moslems swept across western and northern Iraq, routing four divisions. The U.S. and a coalition of nations have been conducting Arclight airstrikes on Islamic State positions in Iraq and Syria since last year, but it has not stopped the group from making advances. The murderous Moslems recently captured the city of Ramadi, in Iraq's western Anbar province, and the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria.

Diyala, which borders Iran, is the only province in Iraq where Iranian jets are known to have conducted Arclight airstrikes against the Islamic State group earlier this year.

Elsewhere in Iraq, a roadside kaboom on a commercial street in Baghdad's Dora district Saturday killed four people and maimed seven. North of Baghdad, a roadside kaboom on a commercial street in al-Rashidiya killed three people and maimed 11.

reports emerged Saturday that the Islamic State group used projectile-delivered poison gas against Kurdish forces in Iraq and Syria on several occasions last month.

Joint, on-site investigations by two U.K.-based organizations -- Conflict Armament Research (CAR) and Sahan Research -- concluded that IS forces used chemical agents to attack Iraqi peshmerga forces and Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) on June 21, 22 and 28.

In the Syria attacks, IS murderous Moslems launched 17 artillery projectiles against YPG forces stationed to the south of the village of Tell Brak in Hassakeh province. The projectiles released a chemical agent which induced in some cases loss of consciousness and temporary, localized paralysis. Twelve YPG personnel were hospitalized. Another seven projectiles were also launched into civilian residential areas in Hassakeh.

In the Iraq attack, IS forces fired a projectile containing a liquid chemical agent at a peshmerga checkpoint near the djinn-infested Mosul

Dam, triggering symptoms among the Iraqi forces that included headaches, nausea and light burns to the skin.

The findings on the attacks in Syria were confirmed by an YPG statement issued Saturday. The type of chemical used is not known. The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported an apparent IS chemical attack on June 28.

There have been several allegations that the Islamic State group has used chlorine previously in both Iraq and Syria.

The Islamic State group, which controls a third of Syria and Iraq in its self-declared caliphate, has not commented on the claims.

The source, who spoke to Rudaw on condition of anonymity, said on Saturday the coalition Arclight airstrikes conducted against ISIS in Badosh and Halabiya region, west of Mosul, have killed at least 30 radicals.

According to the Peshmerga source, commanders and military experts were also among ISIS casualties.

"Apart from casualties, a number of military bases have been vanished by the Arclight airstrikes," the source has added.

Months of Arclight airstrikes by the US-led coalition believed to be a preparation to retake ISIS self-claimed capital of Mosul, Iraq's second largest city that fell to the snuffies last June.

Earlier today, the Iraqi defense ministry announced that its fighter jets launched massive air raids on ISIL positions in the nearby areas of Ramadi which resulted in the killing of tens of Lion of Islams.

"The Iraqi Arclight airstrikes against hideouts of the ISIL faceless myrmidons in the surrounding areas of Hasiba and the outskirts of al-Khalediya City and Ramadi, killed and maimed a large number of the terrorists, and destroyed a large store of their booby-trapped vehicles," the ministry said.

ISIL takfiri bandidos gunnies currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities as they continue their atrocities across the two countries.

[IsraelTimes] Israel Radio cites opposition sources, as well as report in pan-Arab paper that heavy Hezbollah losses lead to reluctance to engage rebels

175 of its own fighters after they refused to take part in battles in the Syrian city of Zabadani, close to the border with Leb, Israel Radio said Saturday, quoting opposition sources in Syria.

The radio also cited a report in pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, which claimed that Hezbollah fighters dispatched to Syria to shore up the regime there have begun to show reluctance to confront the rebel groups seeking to overthrow Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Light of the Alawites...
. According to the report, the hesitation began after 120 Hezbollah fighters were killed in confrontations with opposition groups and another 200 were maimed.

Like the Syrian regime, Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy in the region, receiving funds and arms from the Islamic Theocratic Republic. The group has dispatched thousands of fighters to support the embattled Assad, although reports have repeatedly emerged that the organization has struggled to defeat the opposition forces.

YPG makes gains against ISIS in war-torn Hasaka
[Rudaw] The Kurdish People's Protection Units, or YPG, have captured a key district of southern Hasaka, as fierce fighting continues against ISIS in the disputed city.

The Kurdish fighter, backed by coalition warplanes, managed on Friday to capture the Al-Filaha district and a neighborhood known as Red Villas, said Ivan Hasib, Rudaw's correspondent in Hasaka.

"Ninety percent of ISIS-controlled areas are now surrounded by the Kurdish fighters," said Hasib.

According to Hasib, the previously slow progress of Kurdish forces on the ground was due to the weakness of the Syrian Army troops fighting in the area.

are fighting alongside YPG units in some areas of Hasaka, but Hasib said the troops fail to hold territory from ISIS offensives.

Rudaw's correspondent said ISIS positions in southern areas of Hasaka were heavily shelled by the artillery of the Syrian Army on the first day of Eid on Friday.

The areas that were bombarded include Al-Sakan Al-Shabaab

y and Al-Zuhur quarters, the outskirts of the College of Arts as well as Al-Nashwa quarter and the Red Villas area.

At least ten ISIS fighters were killed and many others were forced to withdraw, said Hasib.

Intense fighting took place between ISIS and the Syrian Army forces over the past 24 hours in the southern suburbs of Hasaka, said the source.

ISIS attempted to infiltrate those areas Friday night, leading to tough battles in Red Villas, in addition to Al-Sharia and Al-Nashwa Squares to the west.

The Syrian forces advanced towards electricity facilities and have control of key points in that area.
