Europe
When Stone Age comes to town
[WASHINGTONTIMES] If there's a clash of civilizations, both sides have to have one. A civilization, that is.

So when I hear about the 'clash' between migrants from various Muslim countries and their host countries in Europe, I certainly know it's not "cultural."

Oh sure, there's a major problem Europeans are facing with the deluge of Arab Muslims sweeping into their countries, but one of the big revelations is how Islamist nations have chosen crazed religiosity over an actually civilized culture.

Up until the million-plus fighting-age Muslim men from Syria and Libya poured into Europe, the civilized world presumed the barbaric behavior of holy warriors was limited to some freakish fringe of the Islamic world.

But what if it is a natural outgrowth of shunning normal civilization brought by an adherence to a backward, Stone-Age view of life? That is, after all, an excellent way for a few elites to control a massive population, no?

The misogynistic treatment of women, the execution of gays, the enslavement of foreign workers, the imprisonment of 'heretics,' and of course, murder of infidels, is well known throughout the Islamist world.

But another simple sign of backwardness is, well, literally making a toilet of Europe.

It's the 21st century, and while Germany is dealing with the importation of a rape culture, they're also finding if you have disdain for basic norms in the civilized world, you apparently also don't like using toilets.

One would think the habit of migrants relieving themselves in public, on the street, in subway cars, in showers, and on floors in buildings would demand an intervention of some sort. Oh, like realizing if there's going to be any assimilation, then teaching these people that defecating in public isn't acceptable in Western civilization might be a good idea.

But no. Instead, the reaction has been predictably politically correct, and left to an enterprising company that has decided the civilized will adapt to the more... quaint requirements of invading cavemen.

According to Breitbart News, "German bathroom manufacturers are developing "multicultural toilets" to help ensure Middle Eastern migrants need not adapt to European sanitation norms. Multiple reports have emerged of recent arrivals finding themselves utterly "mystified" by Western loos. Some have resorted to doing their business on the floor or outdoors, others have used showers, and many migrants will have never seen toilet paper before."

Hence, the toilet manufacturer has developed "a mobile "multicultural toilet" complete with a squatting platform and water hose for migrant friendly sanitation," reports Breitbart.

Why a water hose? Up until 2015, water was the only permissible way for a Muslim to clean oneself in the bathroom. That is, until The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
issued a fatwa allowing Muslims to use toilet paper. Yes, a fatwa was required. In the 21st century. Allowing Muslims to, well, wipe.

"The set of rules for how Muslims should relieve themselves, called the Qadaa al-Haajah, was established in the times before toilet paper or toilet seats were invented. Use of the left hand or three stones was also permissible," reports the London Daily Mail. "The code also states that followers should not speak or read while on the toilet and should enter with their left foot and leave with their right, speaking a prayer," notes the newspaper.

That would be Obama's Religion of Peace(tm).

#2  I've always been curious if the Qadaa al-Haajah stipulated squatting or perching on TOP of western style toilet seats? Rantburg Univ. tip o'the day; never touch a liter of water left in a latrine stall.

#3  the toilet manufacturer has developed "a mobile "multicultural toilet" complete with a squatting platform and water hose for migrant friendly sanitation,"

Huh, San Francisco is only getting 'open air' toilets.

#4  @#2: Squatting is the preferred method, at least in the M/E where many public "toilets" are little more than a hole in a concrete pad.

#5  VRWC is correct. See illustration at the LINK.

Daily Kos Opinion Says the Clinton Era is Over
From Daily Kos - an Activist Leftist Netroots Site
You have to wonder if this is what Debbie Wasserman Schultz was trying to prevent all along. The Clinton campaign, in a matter of days, has completely lost its soul.
Nah, I think she lost her soul around the time she matriculated at Yale Law...
More like she sold it on the installment plan.
Yesterday, Bill Clinton's stumping for his wife in New Hampshire took on an angry tone, and his attacks on Bernie Sanders became very antagonistic. In doing so, he clarified for all of us that the era of Clinton as a liberal hero are coming to a conclusive end.

Accusing Sanders of fiscal ineptitude, blatant hypocrisy, and of encouraging "vicious trolling and attacks" online,
Bill is clearly the expert in each of these, isn't he...
Clinton went as dark as any Republican, and with just as much dignity. Exaggerating the fault of the DNC data breach earlier in the campaign, Clinton suggested that Sanders campaign looted information and then feigned innocence.
Such a thing never occurred to Hilarity...
Never mind that the individual responsible was recommended by the DNC and summarily fired by the Sanders campaign. Clinton was as "fair and balanced" as Bill O'Reilly in his comments, a far cry from the erudite champion of Democrats we once thought he was.

#6  Too many people have spent too much money on Hillary for her campaign to die this easily.

The five biggest industries in the U.S. - government, IT, education, finance/banking, entertainment - have all spent a ton of money on Hillary expecting dispensation from the regulatory leviathan, guarantees or income stream continuity, or both. Don't believe they'll give up that money so easily.

#7  Listening to her speech last night, this song totally captures what it boiled down to and should be her new identifying campaign song:

#8  I got a kick out of George Stephanopoulos's analysis on ABC. The poor old Clinton hack was looking quite distressed as he talked about the Beest's "soft numbers" in the coming Nevada primary. It was a great evening.

#9  Daily Kos endorsement of Bernie Sanders is one thing. But their incessant drubbing of Hillary Clinton is something else.

I'm bettin' that if ValJar gets any more pissed, it will be the kids over at Daily Kos that find themselves down the toilet.

#10  Never fear; the superdelegates will save the day and make sure the proper person is nominated.

India-Pakistan
Top conspiracies
[DAWN] EVEN when the collectors of creative data are not counting, it can be safely assumed that the average Pak unmasks a couple of conspiracies every hour. Some Paks are more prolific when it comes to seeing through 'nefarious' designs, while others are in a perpetual state of being conspired against. They would be all very pleased to have found justification for their preoccupation with theories voiced in absolute tones by the very leaders who should be assuring the people that no one is plotting their downfall. Two new conspiracies that were revealed to national readers on Tuesday stood out. Teachers in Sindh blew up the embarrassingly inadequate cover on the dark scheme to take over public universities, and the prime minister ordered an investigation of the PIA management's role in the ongoing strike that has crippled the operations of what is still a national airline. Reports say the management might have colluded with the workers, 'hand in glove', to bring PIA to a halt. Needless to say, this latest conspiracy follows the slow, deliberate death the airline was subjected to by a government out to dispose of state assets.

It would appear that no other term has the expanse and efficacy of the word 'conspiracy'. Consider a group of officials forced to explain to the boss, say a prime minister, how a certain package, for example about privatisation, didn't quite unfold as it had been predicted to. Would it suffice for them to come up with a straightforward note explaining the dissenters' grievances and the possible answers to address those? Not quite when there is at hand a worthy term that can so profoundly cover all aspects of an issue and project one as the victim of a sinister plot. The conspiracy theorists will be emboldened when topnotch functionaries can at will parade a handful of conspirators shamelessly working against development. The creative monitors of fancy trends need not despair. Given the current acceptance of the term, conspiracy talk is not leaving this land anytime soon.

Above the law
[DAWN] MAULANA Abdul Aziz of the Lal Masjid
...literally the Red Mosque, located in Islamabad and frequented by all sorts of high govt officials. The proprietors, Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, unleashed their Islamic storm troopers on the city, shutting down whorehouses and beating people up who weren't devout enough. The Musharraf govt put an end to the nonsense by besieging the place. Abdul Aziz Ghazi was nabbed while he was trying to escape dressed up like a girl. BBC reported that the corpse count at 173, but other claims, usually hysterical, say there were up to 1000 titzup. Among their number was Abdul Rashid Ghazi. Everyone then said tut-tut and what a nice guy he had been...
is seldom away from controversy. In a video message posted on social media last month, the holy man accused a senior ISI official belonging to "the other sect" of playing the role of spoiler in what he described as positive negotiations with other officials of the agency.

But the security agencies have not taken action against him for attempting to incite sectarian hatred again this time. Clearly, the long arm of the law does not reach a proclaimed offender even if he defies the country's Constitution and openly defends murderous Moslem violence. The case of Maulana Aziz is yet another example of the selective use of the National Action Plan that has long lost its way. With no less than the federal interior minister often defending him one cannot blame the security agencies for their inaction.
