'iPriest' Launches Arabic App For Catholic Prayers To Skirt Islamic Bans
[Telegraph] Tech-savvy priest says iBreviary in Arabic aimed at providing daily prayers for Christian congregations in Muslim countries where Catholic breviary is censored.
No reason this can't be modified for the various Christian sects throughout the Middle East... providing another quiet opportunity for those six million per year leaving Islam.

Tunisia president slices salary
[MAGHAREBIA] Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki on Friday (April 18th) voluntarily took a two-thirds pay cut, AFP reported.

"We are facing a financial and economic crisis. The state must be a model... That is why I have decided to lower the legal salary of the president of the republic to a third" of its current level, Marzouki said in a statement.

According to presidential front man Adnan Mansar, Marzouki earned a gross monthly wage of 30,000 dinars (around 13,600 euros), and a net income of 20,000 dinars (9,100 euros).

Arabia
Two expats die of Mers in Jeddah
Two foreigners died of Mers in the Saudi city of Jeddah, the health ministry said on Saturday, as fears rise over the spreading respiratory virus in the kingdom’s commercial hub. The ministry said five more people were infected with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in the western city, including two foreign medics aged 54.

The latest deaths of a 64-year-old and 44-year-old, whose nationalities were undisclosed, bring to 76 the overall number of people to have died of Mers in Saudi Arabia, from a total of 231 infections.

Panic over the spread of Mers among medical staff in Jeddah this month forced the temporary closure of a hospital emergency room, prompting Health Minister Abdullah Al Rabiah to visit the facility in a bid to calm the public. On Wednesday, at least four doctors at the King Fahd hospital reportedly resigned after refusing to treat Mers patients, apparently out of fear of infection.

Mers was initially concentrated in eastern Saudi Arabia but it now affects other areas.

The World Health Organisation said on Thursday it had been told of 243 laboratory-confirmed cases of Mers infections worldwide, of which 93 have proved fatal. The virus is considered a deadlier but less-transmissible cousin of the Sars virus that erupted in Asia in 2003 and infected 8,273 people, nine per cent of whom died.

Ukraine rabbi calls anti-semitic leaflet a political hoax
Chief rabbi of Donetsk says while anti-Semitic leaflet was initially shocking, he now believes it was fake. "I'm asking those behind this not to make us tools in this game."
I wonder who could be behind something this---maybe we should ask Cliven Bundi?

Kiev's Orthodox patriarch Says 'Enemy' Russia Doomed to Fail in Ukraine
[An Nahar]

#1  Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kyiv Patriarchate (Ukrainian: Українська Православна Церква Київського Патрiархату, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate, UOC-KP) is one of the three major Orthodox churches in Ukraine, alongside the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. The church is unrecognized by other canonical Eastern Orthodox churches, including the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).
The UOC-KP's Mother Church is in the St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The head of the church is Patriarch Filaret (Denysenko), who was enthroned in 1995. Patriarch Filaret was excommunicated by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1997, but the Synod and Sobor of the UOC-KP do not recognize this action. According to a poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre in 2006, 14.9% of the Ukrainian population responded as belonging to the UOC-KP.[5]

#1  Ukraine also has a large, competitive or vibrant Catholic community thanks to Germany's Teutonic Knights, the Templars, + Polish-Lithuanian Knights.

Again, Putin = Russia wants a bulwark agz Rising Nuclear Islam ala the Crimea, to include but most espec agz the Hard Boyz - PUTIN IS WAITING FOR OBAMA-KERRY, NATO-EU, + VATICAN = WESTERN JUDEOCHRISTIANITY TO COMPROMISE WID RUSSIA + EASTERN CHRISTIANITY ON SHARING THE UKRAINE WHILE MAIANTAINING UKRA8NE-SPECIFIC SOVEREIGNTY + INDEPENDENCE.

Putin, for time being, is NOT interested in taking over the Ukraine even tough militarily he could - iff Obama = US, NATO-EO won't make a move, Russia will make a move by + for its own interests + O-N-L-Y its own interests, to include the Russian = Eastern Orthodox Church.

Vlad taint gonna wait forever.

China On Course To Become 'World's Most Christian Nation' Within 15 Years
[Telegraph] The number of Christians in Communist China is growing so steadily that it by 2030 it could have more churchgoers than America
Something to ponder on this Easter day. It will be interesting to see how the Christianization of Chinese society impacts China's current external aggressiveness and internal winner-take-all mentality.

#3  Most interesting. The South Koreans will soon be held hostage by the Norks and Russians. How interesting.

$3.57 per gallon last evening in the Ford. The old Soodi Arabian energy hostage formula quite active, and now being replicated.

#4  If the South Koreans were smart they'd offer to buy a heavy-water reactor from Russia instead.

#5  If the US and SKor and Japan were smart, they would ship Alaska LNG to Japan and SKor and tell Russia and the Norks to pound sand. O could be a hero to Asia and Europe but he is too brainwashed on passé Marxist ideology to see the tremendous opportunity to have the US to become great as well as himself. ***sigh***

#6  Alaska Paul: it's basically against Zero's religion to do anything on a strategic level that actually helps anyone resist the Red Mafia. He'll do stuff on the tactical level like send over tripwire forces to die so he doesn't have to defend his real position.

#7  I am sad to admit that you are right. Snowy. One can do great things without a military sometimes, when the opportunity arises and the moment is seized. But O would rather go to hell in a sea of fire than do the right thing.

It is like this country must go through the course of the disease and hope, just hope that we come out alive when the disease ends.

Europe
U.S. Ground Troops Going To Poland, Defense Minister Says
[[WashingtonPost] Poland and the United States will announce next week the deployment of U.S. ground forces to Poland as part of an expansion of NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
presence in Central and Eastern Europe in response to events in Ukraine. That was the word from Poland's defense minister, Tomasz Siemoniak, who visited The Post Friday after meeting with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel at the Pentagon on Thursday.

Siemoniak said the decision has been made on a political level and that military planners are working out details. There will also be intensified cooperation in air defense, special forces, cyberdefense and other areas. Poland will play a leading regional role, "under U.S. patronage," he said.

#1  Task Force Smith to the courtesy phone.

BTW, a 'trip wire' means it will set off a nuclear exchange. However, in this case the Benghazi Bunch at the WH, it means a lot of good troops will die for nothing or simply be directed to surrender and be prisoners. That would in turn either totally demoralize the uniform services or initiate a coup, or both. A demoralized military will not be effective in putting down any internal insurrection and possibly go over to such events. Can we say, these people are not competent.

#6  I wonder if the Second Cavalry Regiment will be put over there? They are the most likely - they are in Germany, and already set to move based on Cavalry doctrine. Another unit can be slotted into Graf/Vielsek much more easily than it can be deployed straight from the US to Europe. Back in REFORGER days, this wouldn't have been such a big move, but nowadays, it is.

Israel's Natural Gas Ambitions Could Face Russian Opposition
[Ynet] Turkey's endorsement of Russian pipeline could create political conflict with new-found Israeli gas interests in Europe. Are Israel and Russia on an economic collision course?

#1  If the Turkish govt wanted to hedge, they would get pipelines going from both Israel and Russia. On the other hand, Europe would do well to stay away from Pootie Poot. The other fly in the ointment is how confident is Israel that the Turkish govt will honor its commitments.

Scalia to students on high taxes: At a certain point, 'perhaps you should revolt'
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The longest-serving justice currently on the bench answered the student by saying that the government has the constitutional right to implement the tax, "but if it reaches a certain point, perhaps you should revolt."

Justice Scalia continued to tell the students that they have every right to express criticism of the government.

"You're entitled to criticize the government, and you can use words, you can use symbols, you can use telegraph, you can use Morse code, you can burn a flag," he said, according to the News Sentinel.

#1  When the government takes more than 50% of what you create by labor or skill, you exist to serve the state. You have become an indentured servant of the state (all of course in the name of the poor, underprivileged, etc as directed by the upper 10 percent).

#2  Reid says the American people (ranchers, Tea Party) are domestic terrorists. Scalia says perhaps we should revolt over taxes (the life blood of the government). Reid's a blithering idiot and makes little sense with his babblings. Scalia, on the other hand...

#4  Every time I see that map I am astounded by the permanency of the remnants of the Southern cotton culture. The termination of the blue streak north of NOLA must be due to 20th century oil and gas.

See that little blue spot in North Florida? Those 2 counties were the largest cotton growing areas in Florida prior to 1910.
