Blast Outside Cairo University That Wounded 11 Claimed
[Ynet] Terror group Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt) grabbed credit for the bombing after being active mostly in Sinai.
A new group, or an old one wearing a false nose and Groucho Marx glasses?
A bomb outside Cairo University maimed 11 people on Wednesday, among them several coppers, Egyptian officials said.

The blast occurred in a square outside the university at the end of the school day. Six coppers and four civilians were maimed and transferred to hospitals, the interior ministry said in a statement.

Later, a statement from the health ministry said the number of maimed had been increased to 11.

The murderous Moslem group Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt), which emerged in January this year, grabbed credit for the bombing in a statement posted on murderous Moslem forums and the group's Twitter account, SITE Intelligence Group said.

Islamist murderous Moslems have carried out a series of attacks against police and soldiers, mainly in the remote but strategic Sinai region, since the army ousted President Mohammed Mirsi of the Moslem Brüderbund last year after mass protests against his rule.

Cairo University was a focal point for protests against the government that succeeded Morsi until authorities tightened security with the start of the new term this month.

Ajnad Misr previously grabbed credit for a series of kabooms outside Cairo University that killed a police brigadier-general on April 2, in an attack targeting security forces gathering near the gates of the university.

The attack "came after an increase in the number of killings and abuse against students of the universities," the group said in its statement on Wednesday.

"Not too long ago, we avoided targeting the criminal services in the vicinity of the universities, until their crimes increased and proven was their abuse of students not in response to the operations, but a systematic criminality without excuse or justification," the group said.

Masoud Erhuma appointed as Defence Minister
[Libya Herald] The Prime Minister has has appointed Brigadier-General Masoud Erhuma as Libya's new Defence Minister. The post was left unfilled when the new cabinet was finally approved by the HoR last month. Abdullah Al-Thinni who had held onto the portfolio when appointed temporary Prime Minister in March by the former General National Congress had wanted to retain it but the HoR insisted that cabinet members have no more than job.

The new minister, from the Jebel Nafusa town of Rajban, near Zintan, lives in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
and has a masters degree in law. Contrary to earlier reports, his appointment has yet to be officially confined by the HoR.

He was the first senior army officer in the west of the country to turn against the Qadaffy regime at the beginning of revolution, on 19 Fberuary 2011. He was in charge of the military camp in Zawia at the time which he handed over to local revolutionaries along with weapons. Khamis Qadaffy then issued a warrant for his arrest, dead or alive. Erhuma had to hide in farms around Surman and Sabratha, unable to escape to the Jebel for six months because of guards at the checkpoints in the area looking specifically for him. His did manage, however, to smuggle his family to Jordan.

After the war, he was appointed a military prosecutor and was considered for the post of Chief of Staff on more than one occasion, most recently in June last year. In the event, he was bitterly opposed by the then head of Congress' Defence Committee, the controversial Death Eater Islamist member for Zawia, Mohammed Kilani, who was killed in fighting against the Wershefana last month.

Kilani and members of the Islamist Waha bloc accused Erhuma of being a Qadaffy supporter and having killed Zawia revolutionaries. As a result he was investigated but found innocent.

"He's a nationalist ‐ a good man," a top Zintani official said today on hearing of the appointment.

Turkey's Erdogan Says 200 Iraqi Kurdish Fighters To Enter Kobani
[Ynet] Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday he had been informed that agreement was reached for 200 Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters to pass through Turkey to help defend the Syrian border town of Kobani against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. bad boys.

Erdogan was speaking at a news conference in the Latvian capital Riga after Iraqi Kurdish politicians on Wednesday approved a plan to send the fighters, marking the semi-autonomous region's first military foray into Syria's war.

#2  Pappy, according to An Nahar this morning, the timing is "sometime next week."

"The forces that will be sent are support forces and their number will not exceed 200 fighters," Halgord Hekmat, spokesman for the Kurdish ministry responsible for the peshmerga, told Agence France-Presse.

"We are not able to specify the day but it will definitely be during the next week," he added.

The peshmerga fighters will be armed with automatic weapons, mortars and rocket launchers, Hekmat said, declining to specify what route they would take.

They will likely pass through Turkey, which said this week it would allow peshmerga to do so to relieve the town's defenders.

Mom of Canada suspect: I cry for victims, not son
[ARABNEWS] The mother of the man accused of killing a soldier at Ottawa's war memorial then storming Parliament before being rubbed out says she is crying for the victims of the shooting, not her son.

In a brief and tear-filled telephone interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named Thursday, Susan Bibeau said she did not know what to say to those hurt in the attack.

"Can you ever explain something like this?" she said. "We are sorry."

Investigators offered little information about the gunman in Ottawa, identified as 32-year-old petty criminal Michael Zehaf-Bibeau.

Canadian police conceded Thursday that Zehaf-Bibeau was the lone gunman, the second attack in three days in what the prime minister described as terrorism.

Bibeau she was devastated for the victims of the attack.

"If I'm crying it's for the people," she said, struggling to hold back tears. "Not for my son."

Bideau and her husband had earlier sent the AP a lengthy e-mail expressing horror and sadness at what happened.

"I am mad at my son," the e-mail said, explaining that he seemed lost "and did not fit in."

"I his mother spoke with him last week over lunch, I had not seen him for over five years before that," the e-mail said. "So I have very little insight to offer."

The heart of the capital city of Ottawa had been in lockdown after Wednesday's attack, with fears that other gunnies might be on the loose. Ottawa police Constable Marc Soucy confirmed to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named Thursday that police are satisfied there was one attacker. Ottawa police Chief Charles Bordeleau told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. that "there is no longer a threat to public safety."

New details emerge on Canada shooting suspect
[CBSNEWS] Law enforcement and U.S. government sources told CBS News the suspect calls himself Michael Abdul Zehaf-Bibeau and was born in Quebec in 1982. He is from British Columbia and recently converted to Islam. Sources said he had a history of drug addiction prior to his conversion.

No further information was available on Bibeau's apparent contacts with people in Syria, but hundreds of Westerners have traveled to Iraq and Syria to join Islamic turban groups fighting against the governments of those countries. Many have heeded the call to jihad made in hours and hours of well-crafted propaganda videos posted online by groups including ISIS.

"We were working on the statue, and I heard a bunch of pops. I look across the street and there's a man with a rifle shooting at a bunch of people," a construction worker who witnessed the incident said.

Emergency responders performed CPR but Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was killed.

A dash cam video allegedly shows the suspect getting into a vehicle with no license plates, holding what appears to be a weapon. Multiple eye witnesses describe the man as dressed in black with a scarf over his face.

"Let there be no misunderstanding: We will not be intimidated. Canada will never be intimidated," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a national address Wednesday evening.

He called the shooter a terrorist.

"This week's events are a grim reminder that Canada is not immune to the types of terrorist attacks we have seen elsewhere around the world," Harper said.

"We have a tremendous country, if you travel the world, we got it pretty darn good here, and I hope this doesn't change it," parliamentarian John McKay said.

This is the second violent attack on Canadian soil this week.

On Monday, a radical jihadi deliberately ran over two Canadian soldiers, killing one. That suspect was also shot and killed following a police chase.

Ottawa shooting suspect said to be a recent convert to Islam
[DAWN] Two deadly attacks in three days against members of the military stunned Canadians and raised fears their country was being targeted for reprisals for joining the US-led air campaign against an Death Eater bad boy group in Iraq and Syria.

"We will not be intimidated. Canada will never be intimidated," Prime Minister Stephen Harper vowed in a nationally televised address hours after a masked gunman killed a soldier standing guard at Ottawa's war memorial shortly before 10am on Wednesday.

The suspect then stormed Parliament in a dramatic attack that was stopped cold when he was shot to death by the ceremonial sergeant-at-arms. Harper called it the country's second terrorist attack in three days.

hard boyz in an effort to disrupt what it said was a $1-million-a-day funding source. Islamic State has seized large swaths of Iraq and Syria in a brutal campaign, and could pose a threat to the United States and its allies if it is not stopped, US Treasury Undersecretary David Cohen said.

"With the important exception of some state-sponsored terrorist organizations, ISIL is probably the best-funded terrorist organization we have confronted," Cohen said, referring to another name for Islamic State. He spoke at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

US creates terrorist groups to justify wars: American journalist
[Iran Press TV] The United States is creating terrorist groups to justify its wars on foreign lands, an American journalist says.

"It is becoming very obvious...that the US intelligence community is involved in funding ISIS if you look at the military support that ISIS receives," Mike Harris, an editor at the Veterans Today online journal, told Press TV in an interview on Thursday.

He was commenting on the Pentagon's admission on Wednesday that ISIL Death Eaters captured a bundle of US weapons airdropped in the Syrian border town of Kobani earlier this week.

India-Pakistan
God decided to give 'Pharaohs' some time, says Qadri
[DAWN] Two days after calling off a two-month-long anti-government sit-in in Islamabad, Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri
...Pak politician, and would-be dictator, founder and head of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran and Pakistain Awami Tehrik. He usually resides in Canada, but returns to Pakistain periodically to foam at the mouth and lead demonstrations. Depending on which way the wind's blowing, Qadri claims to be the author of Pak's blasphemy law. Other times he says it wasn't him...
on Thursday justified to supporters in Abbottabad
... A pleasant city located only 30 convenient miles from Islamabad. The city is noted for its nice weather and good schools. It is the site of Pakistain's military academy, which was within comfortable walking distance of the residence of the late Osama bin Laden....
his reasons for ending the dharna in the federal capital.

Qadri said that he would not have been able to take the 'message of revolution' from city to city had he continued the Islamabad sit-in.

"I do not travel by air. It would have taken me as many as 15 days to travel to all places. I could not have left behind my supporters in Islamabad," he told thousands of supporters who had gathered in the Abbottabad valley to listen to the PAT chief.

Qadri's announcement on Tuesday ended 67 days of the protest sit-in in the federal capital which had set off a political crisis in the country. The PAT leader had said that protests would now be held all over the country, which he called the "next stage of the revolution".

"It was God's will to give 'the Pharaohs' some time. The government did not immediately fall, but God gave us a gift. The entire nation awoke to the idea of revolution," he told supporters in Abbottabad.

"We are not going home - we will go from city to city. This is our journey of revolution," said the holy man turned politician, who recently announced that he would participate in electoral politics and would bring down the status quo through the power of votes.

He claimed that even children were now urging Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

to step down by shouting the slogan 'Go Nawaz Go!'

"The time is near when new-born infants will not cry but will shout 'Go Nawaz Go!'" he claimed.

"Who says the dharna is over? This dharna will become the death of the status quo," he said.

He announced that PAT would hold a rally in Bhakkar on November 23, one in Sargodha on Dec 5, and on Dec 25 in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
"If the Bhakkar rally does not resemble scene from Minar-e-Pakistain, then I will call off the protest," he said, referring to the mammoth PAT rally in Lahore earlier this week.

The PAT chief also said that his party would hold a sit-in in Haripur tomorrow (Friday) in which he would also be present.

Earlier this week, Qadri and his alled parties had decided not to hold any public meetings or processions during Muharram keeping in view the sanctity of the month.

Israel threatens Palestinians with 'harshest response' following Jerusalem car attack
[ARABNEWS] Any future attacks on Jerusalem will be met with the "harshest response" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday after a deadly Paleostinian car attack killed a baby.

"Jerusalem is united and was, and always will be, the eternal capital of Israel. Any attempt to harm its residents will be met with the harshest response," he said in a statement.

His remarks came a day after a young Paleostinian rammed a crowd of Israeli pedestrians at high speed, killing a baby and injuring another six people. He was shot while trying to flee the car on foot and later died of his injuries.

Gaza Rebuilding Slowed By Trickle Of Aid, Rivalry
[Ynet] Only one shipment of 400 tons of cement sent since Gazoo rebuild program launched, prompting Paleostinian allegations of political foot-dragging.

Several dozen tons of cement bags stored in a warehouse are one of the few tangible achievements so far of a $2.7 billion plan to rebuild war-wrecked Gazoo Strip.

The program was launched with high expectations at an international conference in Cairo on Oct. 12, but has run into obstacles, including wrangling between the rival Paleostinian factions Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and Fatah for control in Gazoo and what officials say has been a trickle of promised aid.
Loudly trumpeted promises not being kept? How... unexpected.
Hardest hit by delays are tens of thousands of Gazooks living in communal shelters or the ruins of their homes since the summer war between Israel and the Islamic Death Eater Hamas destroyed or damaged some 100,000 homes.

"We are waiting and waiting," said Samer al-Khaisy, 29, who lives with his wife and three pre-school daughters in one room of his damaged apartment, with holes in the wall covered by plastic sheets.
If your rulers cared about you, my dear, they would have resolved the issues long since. Instead they started a war with Israel that they couldn't finish.
Getting cement, steel and gravel from Israel into Gazoo is a major challenge because of a blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt in 2007 after Hamas seized the territory from Western-backed Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
Hamas has since ceded some control to a Paleostinian unity government that reports to Abbas and is to lead reconstruction.

The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
, in turn, devised a system under which Israel would gradually ease a ban on selling building materials to Gazoo, with UN monitors keeping track of shipments in Gazoo to make sure they are not diverted by Hamas for military use.
Except that Hamas has already announced the resumption of tunnel building, making the whole thing a bit uncomfortable for all involved.
So far, Israel has only delivered about 400 tons of cement in a single shipment, prompting allegations of politically motivated foot-dragging from Paleostinian Cabinet Minister Mamoun Abu Shahla.

But a UN official said the holdup is mostly technical and that he expects more deliveries once the Paleostinian government has vetted more Gazoo importers of construction material and potential buyers.
When even the UN rapporteur says it's not Israel's fault...
Twelve importers have met the security requirements so far, including setting up CCTV cameras in their warehouses, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
because he was not authorized to discuss the program with the media.

At the al-Shamali company in Gazoo City's Shijaiyah neighborhood, cameras were trained on 120 tons of cement in a corner of a warehouse. Company accountant Nashad Aref said U.N. monitors have visited three times so far to check the setup.

The company is not yet allowed to sell the cement, he said, adding that he has had to fend off impatient residents of the hard-hit area. Company driver Nafez Awad said he'd hoped to have first dibs to repair his apartment, but was told the UN isn't allowing sales yet.

Another hurdle is the fraught relationship between Hamas and Abbas, and differences over divvying up responsibilities. For example, Hamas wants to keep some of its border officials at the main Israel-Gazoo cargo crossing, Kerem Shalom, but the unity government wants to send its own team there, arguing that this would expedite imports.

"Nothing is solved about the government and the crossings," said Ghazi Hamad, a Hamas official.

It was business as usual this week at the cargo crossing, a conduit for consumer goods Israel has allowed to enter Gazoo in recent years. On Tuesday, trucks delivered bananas, apples, refrigerators, cows and horses -- just no cement.
Horses? But I thought the people were starving and horribly overcrowded. How can they possibly afford to keep horses??
A private Paleostinian company handles the transfer of goods from Israel. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
at a Hamas-run point about a mile away, drivers pay customs and inspectors check cargo.

Slow aid payments are another problem.

"It is known that money needs months to arrive, but we are encouraging donors and ask them to give us even part of the assistance so as to begin the projects," said Mohammed Mustafa, the top government official in charge of reconstruction.

Government envoys will soon start visiting wealthy Gulf countries to seek accelerated aid payments, he said.
Perhaps at they same time they can remind the wealthy Gulf donors that they're far in arrears on their pledges from 2012 and 2010, too. That's sure to work.
"Reconstruction is facing some problems, that is why it is not taking off," said government front man Ehab Bseiso. "These things are not going to be changed overnight."

#1  Would it be too much to consider the possibility of the IDF employing a water bomber to hit the cement-storing warehouses? Especially if a 'suspicious' fire were discovered and in the interest of cross-border cooperation provided assistance to put it out?

Syrian academic disowned by her family for IS link
[ARABNEWS] A Syrian female academic, who joined the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) terror group after quitting her job at Dammam University, has been disowned by her family. According to recent reports in local media, Eiman Al-Bogha's sister, Hanan, posted a tweet rejecting her support of the IS.

"Eiman's position doesn't represent the family's views or that of our father Mustafa Al-Bogha," wrote Hanan.

According to reports, Eiman has supported the IS for a while. She announced her beliefs in a book published before leaving the university. Several of her students claimed that she encouraged them to read the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) stories of his lover companions and Moslem battles.

Eiman's decision has been a hot topic on social media, with Saudi academics calling for education institutions to be more careful during recruitment.

Bothaina Al-Yusuf, an academic, said: "This tells us that there is imminent danger (at our institutions). We should take greater care when employing new staff because we are entrusting our children to them."

She added: "The matter is connected to the fact that she is a Syrian national. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
there are many bad boy Saudis who instill wrong ideas in the minds of our children about jihad and how to fight corrupt people."

China Says Wants Closer Military Ties With Iran
[Ynet] China wants to have closer military ties with Iran, the Chinese defence minister told the visiting head of the Iranian navy on Thursday, state media reported, reaffirming Beijing's diplomatic links with Tehran despite controversy over its nuclear plans.

Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan told Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari that the two armed forces have seen "good cooperation on mutual visits, personnel training and other fields in recent years", the official Xinhua news agency reported.

"Exchanges between the two navies have been fruitful and their warships have paid successful visits to each other," it paraphrased Chang as saying.

"Chang ... stressed China is willing to work with Iran to further pragmatic cooperation and strengthen military-to-military ties."

#1  Why? Iran doesn't have any technology to steal. Hmmm, maybe China figures that they can sell Russian knockoff's to Iran cheaper than Russia....

#2  China needs oil, so closer ties with Iran will work to China's advantage. They also like to ingratiate themselves with despots, like in Venezuela. Find mismanaged countries, get oil cheap, help the suckers out.

Syrian Kurds Sign Power-Sharing Deal To Draw More Support
[Ynet] Syrian Kurdish factions have signed a deal to share power and set their rivalries aside to capitalize on growing international support for their fight against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. bully boys.
Long past time if this was a real issue, but at least it's done.
The agreement was reached late on Wednesday after nine days of talks and coincided with a decision by Iraqi Kurdistan to send its own peshmerga forces to relieve fellow Kurds in the Syrian town of Kobani, under attack by Islamic State (IS).

#3  I saw in the article yesterday that IS/ISIS fighters believe they won't make it to paradise if they are slain by a woman in battle. Yes, clever PR.

#4  Of course it would be disrespectful to the wonderful faith of Islam to showcase a few female USN fighter pilots, even if they never flew a single mission over ISIS.

#5  Top-notch PR, further points added when the opposing side is a bunch of goat humping barbarians.

ISJVs is effective, but it is as inspirational as carrion for the vultures. Their rag IS Squire is about dehghey.

What both sides have in their PR is honesty of cause. The USAs best seems to be hastags, which is sooperdeghey, and John Mufti Kerry et al who are so patently dishonest and flippy they couldn't build a message with Duplo blocks.

When choderboy says that journalists are western spys and therefore can be beheaded..I believe him. When the Kurds say fight the revelin of Kobane or die slaves..I believe them. When Kerry tells me the sun is out..I check at least three windows and then the forecast.

Lebanon Says It Won't Accept More Syrian Refugees
[Ynet] Leb announced on Thursday it will not accept any more refugees from neighboring war-torn Syria, except in what authorities deem to be "exceptional" cases -- a move that could prevent tens of thousands of Syrians from escaping the civil war.

Information Minister Ramzi Jreij said Leb can simply not handle any more refugees. The tiny Mediterranean country has 1.1 million officially registered Syrian refugees, although the number is believed to be far higher. They make up almost a quarter of the country's population of 5 million.

Congress will go along with Obama on Iran sanctions: US politician
[Iran Press TV] If the B.O. regime decides to suspend sanctions against Iran, Congress will go along with the decision, an American politician says.

Art Olivier, the former mayor of Bellflower, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, who was also the Libertarian candidate for vice president in the US presidential election in 2000, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.

Congress will have a good deal more power once Harry Reid isn't blocking the Senate for President Obama. What is it now, 200 bills he won't allow being brought to the floor for a vote?
