DHS 'Sovereign Citizen Extremist' in black and white.
[Homeland Security Intelligence Assessment] Sovereign Citizen Extremist Ideology Will Drive Violence at Home, During Travel, and at Government Facilities.
Violence at traffic stops is not terrorism, despite the fact that the majority of police fatalities occurs in them. A lunatic up on the roof shooting people at random isn't terrorism--he remains a nut. A fellow who doesn't think federal and/or state laws apply to him is delusional.

The guy who leaves an IED alongside a road and blows it with the intention of terrorizing people is a terrorist. He does't even have to holler "allahu akbar" when it blows.

#1  How many at the Boston Marathon? 4 dead 20+ serious injuries (including loss of limb), 20 other injuries severe enough to warrant hospitalization, and a couple dozen more that were treated at the scene who needed followup attention. All in about 5 seconds time. Inspired by and done by Islamists.

So called "doemstic threat" took 5 years to accumulate 24 casualties -- all individual killings, not mass ones, no political statements about them either...

DHS is full of shit - its a political tool for persecution of Obamas perceived enemies - the citizens who resist him and his fiat government.

#2  If you knew that the actions already taken and those to come we're such a tyrannical violation of the constitution that Americans would become convinced that their government was no longer under control and begin to act aggressively to take it back, wouldn't it be smart to set the premise to justify martial law?

Tunisia to Get 8 Black Hawks for Fight against Jihadists
[AnNahar] Tunisia will take delivery of eight Black Hawk attack helicopters from the United States this year to help it in the fight against Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists, an official said Thursday.

Defense ministry front man Belhassen Oueslati told the private radio station Shems FM that the aircraft would arrive in the second half of 2015.

"These helicopters will be used to carry troops and launch attacks, and will represent a qualitative jump in our means for fighting terrorism," he said.

Tunisia has seen a rise in Islamist extremism since the revolution that ousted veteran strongman Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in 2011.

An army offensive against jihadists liked to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has been underway in the remote Mount Chaambi range near the Algerian border since 2012.

But the ground and air campaign has failed to force out the jihadists amid repeated complaints by the armed forces that they lack the necessary equipment to neutralize the Lion of Islams.

Dozens of police and military personnel have been killed or maimed in attacks blamed on Islamist murderous Moslems around the Chaambi range.

Oueslati did not say how much the helicopters would cost nor give other further details.

In August, then president Moncef Marzouki said during a visit to Washington that Tunisia had asked Washington to provide it with 12 Black Hawk helicopters, also citing the jihadist threat.

Marzouki said at the time that Tunisia would need to wait two or three years before it could take delivery of the aircraft because of their high cost.

Libya Dawn said to accept need for ceasefire
[Libya Herald] The Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
-based Joint Operations Room (JOR) which mainly comprises Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
militias, is reported to have accepted a ceasefire and join the UN-brokered peace talks "in the interests of Libya". It is also said to have accepted that there could be no military solution to the Libyan crisis, that it had to be solved by political means.

The JOR is officially under the control of the Major-General Abdussalam Obeidi, the Chief of Staff sacked during the summer by the House of Representatives last summer but still accepted by Libya Dawn and the continuing General National Congress. He set up the JOR last December.

The announcement, said to have been made at a JOR meeting today in Zuwara with UNMSMIL representatives, follows the decision earlier this week by the House of Representatives to pull out of the dialogue following the Guba bombings.

It is widely seen as a bid to gain support from the UN and the international community in general.

So too was today's invitation from Congress to UNSMIL head Bernardino Leon for talks in Tripoli on his decision to postpone the dialogue. Earlier, he had reportedly refused to go to Tobruk because of concerns that it was about to appoint Major-General Khalifa Hafter as supreme commander of the Libyan army. It is said that he believes such an appointment will destroy all attempts by the UN to broker a lasting peace in Libya.

Gawairi launches Tunisia media campaign, says there are 4,000 Tunisian terrorists in Libya
[Libya Herald] The head of the Beida-based Libyan government's Information Authority, Omar Gawairi, has launched a media offensive in Tunisia amid fears that the Tunisian government's commitment to the legitimacy of the internationally-recognised House of Representatives and the Thinni government could be weakening.

At the beginning of the week it said that was neutral on Libya, suggesting that there was an equivalence between the government of Abdullah Al-Thinni in Beida and the Libya Dawn

Arabia
King calls on Muslims to shun intolerance, extremism
[ARABNEWS] King of the Arabians, Sheikh of the Burning Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Lord of Most of the Arabians....
has called on Moslems to shun intolerance and extremism, work to unify their ranks and seek international cooperation.

King Salman made these comments during a reception at his palace in Riyadh for the scholars and experts who participated in the international counterterrorism conference organized by the Moslem World League (MWL) in Makkah earlier this week.

King Salman also said that Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
"is the land of Islam that implements the Shariah in all walks of life." He said Saudi kings have been proud of having the title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. "We ask the Almighty to guide us so that we can serve our religion of tolerance."

He said Islam is a religion of moderation. "We have to follow what is stated in the Qur'an, the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his followers. We should not alienate people. There are people who abuse Islam and drive people away from it. We beseech Allah to return them to their senses."

King Salman highlighted the government's efforts to develop Makkah and Madinah and expand the two holy mosques. "I tell you frankly that Makkah and Madinah are the most important for us, before anything else in this country."

Bangladesh
The curious case of the arrest warrant against Khaleda Zia
[Dhaka Tribune] Two days have elapsed since Dhaka Special Judge's Court 3 issued a warrant for the arrest of BNP Chairperson the loathesome Khaleda Zia
Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...
but the cop shoppe concerned was yet to receive it as of yesterday.

"No cop shoppe of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has yet received any such warrant," said Monirul Islam, joint commissioner of the Detective Branch of police, yesterday.

"We have only heard that the court issued a warrant for the arrest of the BNP chairperson but we have not received it yet. Once we get the order we will take steps as per the court directive."

On Wednesday, the Special Judge's Court issued the warrant for the arrest of Khaleda and two other accused in two graft cases for failing to appear before the court during hearing.

In the order, the court said prime accused Khaleda Zia had so far appeared in court on only seven of 63 scheduled dates.

According to the procedures, after a court issues a warrant the assistant bench officer prepares the order document and gets it signed by the judge concerned and sends it to a bench known as "court process server" for dispatch. Warrants can also be delivered by hand.

Britain
British 'Human Rights Group' Calls Jihadi John Suspect 'Beautiful Young Man'
[BREITBART] A Human Rights group founded by a former Guantanamo Bay detainee turned activist Moazzam Begg has blamed British foreign policy and the security services for 'Jihadi John' beheading seven hostages as an executioner and propagandist working for the Islamic State

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
.

The notion that the murderer known as Jihadi John, now thought to be born Kuwati-born Mohammed Emwazi, might solely responsible for his actions was questioned by the Cage group today. The organization have instead published a blog claiming to have been consulted by the Washington Post in the lead up to their revelation of his identity, and have placed the responsibility for the murders of seven foreigners captured by the Islamic State on the British government.

Al-Jazeera Journalist in Paris Court Next Week for Flying Drone
[AnNahar] One of three Al-Jazeera

Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
for flying a drone in Gay Paree will appear in court next week after pleading guilty, a judicial source said on Thursday.

The other two television journalists have been freed. All three were arrested on Wednesday for flying a drone in the Bois de Boulogne park on the western edge of the French capital, for the purposes of a television report.

The journalist facing court is a 34-year-old British citizen working for Al-Jazeera's international service, who received the drone from the station's London bureau in November.

He was controlling the aircraft from the ground. The other two were freelancers aged 52 and 68, one British and one Belgian, who were helping to film a segment on drones.

The unmanned aircraft has been confiscated by the authorities.

"Our staff in Gay Paree were attempting to illustrate a piece to camera on domestic drones which are widely available, while also attempting to cover the recent drone mysteries in Gay Paree and wider security concerns in La Belle France," Al-Jazeera said in a statement.

#6  Apologies for using such a rude language in front of a lady.

You are ever the gentleman, cher JFM. However, I look upon such things as a matter of linguistic curiosity and the patching of large holes in my knowledge -- very often I know only the technical language for things, not the vulgar vocabulary. Mr. Wife has derived considerable amusement over the years translating the English for me, the side effect of growing up with parents in the biosciences for whom English was the third or later language.

It's a family tradition: Mama's first husband geve her a vocabulary list (soldier --> medical Latin) before she went to work at the VA hospital as an occupational therapist. It worked well: the first soldier who tried to shock her was answered with such considerable interest that the entire ward, to a man, turned bright red and behaved like lambs for the rest of her tenure. Mama claims she can't remember the details of the exchange. But she is always a perfect lady.

doux coeur does not exist in French. at lest not without mon (my) and then it is far too intimate. You should translate by "chérie" ak a the affectionate form of chère (dear). Now you know what you have to say the day you want to seduce a French girl. :-)

#13  @Besoeker. Un gigot d'agneau (that is the whole leg) or Du gigot d'agneau (for a bit of it). Prononunced anyo. with tonic accent on the O.
Une bouteille de Merlot -bottle) ou Un verre de Merlot ( a glass)

@Ppappy. In. It is an English sentence with a single French word inserted.

@Fred. Salope with an e. Many final consonants in French are not pronunced unless you add an e after them. The consonnants are vestigial from the time and are only there in case you need to lenthen the would. Il mord (he bites). Pronunced mor. modre (to bite) pronounced mordr.

UN legislation against blasphemy is a must: Ashrafi
[Pak Daily Times] Pakistain Ulema Council Central Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said that legislation from the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
for the protection of respect of all sacred religions, holy books and prophets is necessary for the global peace.

According to the PUC sources on Thursday, he was leading a delegation which was visiting diplomats of several countries including Russia, Paleostine, Jordan and the United States in Islamabad.

The delegation presented a memorandum on the situation generated after the publication of blasphemous caricatures in the papers of La Belle France and other countries. Ashrafi appealed to the diplomats for playing their role for legislation from the UN against blasphemy of the holy books, prophets and religions as the freedom of speech did not mean to instigate others to killings and riots by insulting other's religions and holy things as it could put the world's peace in danger.

He said that the publication of blasphemous caricatures had damaged the efforts of interfaith dialogue and it was very important to end the insult of the holy prophets, the Holy Koran and other holy books.

Paleostinian, Jordanian and Russian ambassadors assured the delegation that they would inform their countries about the sentiments and feelings of the Moslems and they would play their role in this regard.

Iraq
IS Jihadists Destroy Ancient Idols in Iraq Museum
[AnNahar] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group released a video Thursday in which holy warriors in Iraq are seen destroying ancient artifacts that included idols, which are prohibited by the Moslem faith.

The five-minute video shows holy warriors at the museum in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
knocking statues off their plinths and smashing them to pieces with sledgehammers.

In another scene, a jackhammer is used to deface a large Assyrian winged bull at an archeological site in the city, which the Sunni bully boy group captured last summer.

"Moslems, these artifacts behind me are idols for people from ancient times who worshiped them instead of God," said a bearded krazed killer speaking to the camera.

"The so-called Assyrians, Akkadians and other peoples had gods for the rain, for farming, for war... and they tried to get closer to them with offerings," he goes on.

"The prophet removed and buried the idols in Mecca with his blessed hands," he said, referring to the Moslem prophet Mohammed.

Experts said the items destroyed include original pieces, reconstructed fragments and copies.

They include many pieces from the Assyrian and Parthian eras dating back several centuries before Christ.

Iraq's Assyrians are now a Christian minority who consider themselves to be the region's indigenous people.

Several Assyrian villages were seized by IS fighters in neighboring Syria in recent days and at least 220 Assyrians kidnapped in the process.

The jihadists have controlled Mosul, Iraq's second city, since seizing it in a June offensive that saw them conquer large parts of the country.

They have systematically targeted minorities in and around Mosul and destroyed heritage sites, sparking global indignation.

#3  This should be a warning to the British Museum, the Smithsonian, and all other museums that hold ancient "idols ". DO NOT, under any circumstances return them to Egypt or any other Muslim country.

#4  They're not just committing genocide against the living, but also the dead. They want to erase all sign there was anyone before their lunatic prophet dribbled feces from his mouth and created Islam.

I'm glad I got to see the Turkish Archaeological Museum before this type got hold of it. I wonder if they'd take bids on any of the artifacts in the collection, in preparation? I don't think I'd be able to afford the Alexander Sarcophagus, the Serpentine Column or any of the Imperial Sarcophagi, but maybe they'd take my life savings for the chain that used to close off the Golden Horn.

Kurds Blocking Return of Arabs to Disputed Iraq Areas
[AnNahar] Kurdish forces have prevented displaced Arabs from returning to disputed areas of Iraq that Kurdish leaders want to incorporate in their autonomous region over Baghdad's objections, a report said Thursday.

Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
warned the Kurdistan regional government against meting out "collective punishment of entire Arab communities" for the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist group's attacks.

"Cordoning off Arab residents and refusing to let them return home appears to go well beyond a reasonable security response," said Letta Tayler, senior terrorism and counterterrorism researcher at the New York-based rights group.

The HRW report said Kurdish forces have for months barred Arabs displaced by last year's IS offensive from returning to their homes in disputed areas.

Kurds however had been able to return to the same areas and even in some cases allowed to move into the homes of displaced Arabs, the group said.

When jihadists launched a devastating military blitz across Iraq's Sunni Arab heartland in June last year, Kurdish forces moved into the vacuum left by fleeing federal security forces.

The move expanded their territory by around 40 percent and gave them control over areas that Kurdish leaders have long sought to add to their three-province autonomous region in the north.

Jihadists attacked several of those ethnically and religiously mixed areas in August but Kurdish forces, backed by a Western air campaign, are reclaiming lost ground.

Human Rights watch said it had documented "apparently discriminatory acts" in districts of Arbil province within the autonomous region as well as of Nineveh province outside it.

It said some Kurdish officials defended the measures by arguing that Sunni Arab residents in the area had supported the jihadist advance and were still collaborating with IS.

The watchdog said some restrictions against Sunni Arabs had been eased in January but stressed the Kurdish authorities needed to do more.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian Islamic Jihad have rearmed and replenished ranks
[BBC] It is six months since a ceasefire deal was brokered between Israel and Paleostinian forces of Evil in the Gazoo strip.

During the conflict more than 2,000 people were killed in the seven weeks of fighting, and nearly half a million were displaced.

There are growing fears the war could start up again. The BBC has been given unprecedented access to the tunnels network used by Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. Terror Networks
Exclusive: TSA Issues Secret Warning on '€˜Catastrophic' Threat to Aviation
"The Transportation Security Administration said it is unlikely to detect and unable to extinguish what an FBI report called "the greatest potential incendiary threat to aviation," according to a classified document obtained by The Intercept. Yet despite that warning, sources said TSA is not adequately preparing to respond to the threat.

Thermite -- a mixture of rust and aluminum powder -- could be used against a commercial aircraft, TSA warned in a Dec. 2014 document, marked secret [PDF here]. "The ignition of a thermite-based incendiary device on an aircraft at altitude could result in catastrophic damage and the death of every person onboard," the advisory said."
How, er, "timely."

#1  Crap Thermite is really old technology stuff.

Used it often on Khmer Rouge artillery. It also does wonders to engine blocks on old Belgian and Russian trucks.

How do you get the stuff on the plane and how do you ignite it? I am not a technogeek so I have no idea what goes on inside a thermite grenade after the pin is pulled.

#5  Iron oxide is ferromagnetic. It would seem that it would be detectable. Moreover, judging from the Mythbuster's vid, it seems that it would take a huge amount of thermite to do much. I've seen a number of cars in reclaim yards that have burned and the burn is nearly as complete as that shown in the Mythbuster's video. Bottom line, IMO that the threat is not so great.

False alarm on the Gore thing. He's probably still playing with his gerbils.

DNI James Clapper: 2014 Will Have Been The Most Lethal Year For Global Terrorism
[Real Clear Politics] DIRECTOR OF NAT'L INTELLIGENCE JAMES CLAPPER: When the final counting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such a data has been compiled. About half of all attacks as well fatalities in 2014 occurred in just three countries: Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
But wait! Yesterday Sec of State Kerry said we have never been safer: "Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we're actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and people in the world than normally, less violent deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century."

#3  There seems to be a schism in the regime. JFnK and Clapper don't seem to agree on the threat level.

#4  Blindly repeating talking points is not universally applied within the regime.

Which is why they're moving Ms. Harf from State to the White House.
Posted by: Pappy || 02/27/2015 11:32 Comments || Top||

#5  Unfortunately for Director Clapper, the US or US_ALlies will see mucho progressively worse iff they fail to defeat or destroy the ISIS + aligned, + Soon-to-Be-Nuclear Global Jihad.

THE LONGER THEY PUT IT OFF, THE GREATER THE EXISTENTIAL RISK THEY WILL PUT THEMSELVES IN.
