PAK Chief of Army Staff: Afghan Taliban likely to join IS if reconciliation fails
[Khaama News] Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif says that Afghan Taliban likely to join Islamic State 'Daesh' if the reconciliation between them and Afghan government fails.

According to a report published by Pakistan's The Express Tribune news agency, General Raheel Sharif emphasized on the reconciliation in Afghanistan during his address to The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies in London.

The army chief emphasised the reconciliation between Afghan Taliban and the Afghan government. He expressed his fear the Taliban could seek an alliance with IS unless they were brought back to the negotiating table, the report states. "This reconciliation in Afghanistan is very important.

If we do not do it in the proper manner and the Afghan Taliban splinter, they would go for a bigger name and that is IS," General Raheel quoted by the news agency as saying. General Sharif acknowledges that Daesh is a more dangerous than al-Qaeda but has told the participants that it would not be allowed in Pakistan.

"As far as IS is concerned, in Pakistan, even a shadow of IS would not be allowed."

Forces Repel Taliban, Move Injured Civilians to Hospitals
[Tolo News] In addition to forcing the Taliban back from Kunduz city, the Afghan troops are also transporting injured civilians to hospitals -- a move that civilians have welcomed.

TOLOnews journalist Sharif Amiry -- who was the first journalist to make his way into the city of Kunduz -- said the security forces were being attacked by the Taliban from civilian homes, where they are hiding.

"There is heavy fighting between the security forces and Taliban near civilian homes," reported Sharif, who is embedded with a convoy of security forces clearing the city from turbans.

"Taliban are hiding in civilian homes but the security forces are trying their best to protect civilians and move the injured people to hospitals."

An injured Kunduz resident who was being moved to the hospital called for mercy from the Taliban.

"For Allah's sake, stop killing us," the injured civilian pleaded.

Another resident of Kunduz told the news hound that the Taliban set his vehicle on fire when he was heading to the hospital to see his injured relative who he said had later departed this vale of tears.

Sharif, who was caught in a Taliban ambush, reported that the gunnies were also hiding inside the Kunduz University building from where they opened fire on the convoy of troops he was with.

"The situation has not normalized and the fighting still continues on the streets," said Sharif.

Talking about the crimes of Taliban, an Afghan National Army (ANA) general said the gunnies showed no mercy to the civilians.

"They [Taliban] have torched civilian homes and also burned hundreds of copies of Holy Koran," Major General Zmari Paikan said.

This came after the security forces in the early morning recaptured six Taliban members who had beat feet from Kunduz jail following the turbans' well-planned attack on the city.

Sharif however reported that still some parts of the city are under Taliban control.

The Taliban launched an attack on Kunduz city on Monday after hundreds of well-equipped bully boys, including Pak nationals, stormed the city and over ran government facilities.

They also stormed the prison and let 600 inmates, including 110 Taliban members, escape.

Africa Subsaharan
Bomb blasts kill 15 in Nigeria
[AA.TR] Multiple kabooms -- including a suicide kaboom on a cop shoppe -- have killed at least 15 people in Nigeria's capital.

A front man for the country's NEMA relief agency said the Friday-night blasts in Nyanya and Kuje -- outlying regions of Nigeria's federal capital area -- had also injured 41 people.

He said two people died and 21 were maimed in the Nyanya blast; 13 other people died in Kuje with 20 others sustaining injuries.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
hospital sources in Abuja told Anadolu Agency that the number of casualties was higher, one pegging it at 27.

A cop shoppe in Kuje was among several locations struck in the latest attack, where ajacket wallah'> exploding trollop female suicide bomber
detonated a bomb at the entrance of the security post.

Only the bomber died, according to a police source, who also claimed the blast was intended to cause confusion to allow attackers a free rein in the other areas.

Friday's incident was the third major blast in Nyanya -- a densely populated suburb -- since Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
extended its offensive beyond the northeast where the radicals' insurgency has been most rooted.

Arabia
Saudi Arabia arrests Syrian man over bomb plot
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Saudi Interior Ministry on Saturday said it tossed in the calaboose
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
a Syrian man and Filipina woman in Riyadh on charges of obtaining material in preparation for a suicide kaboom, Al Arabiya News Channel reported.

The man had planted several bombs around his home in the al-Fayhaa neighborhood in the Saudi capital. It is believed he was intending for security forces to enter his home, before setting off the bombs.

It took security forces 12 hours to dismantle the bombs and evacuate the premises.

The man, named Yasser Mohammad al-Brazy, is believed to have forced the Filipna, named Lady Joy, to live with him after she bravely ran away from her sponsor a year ago. Brazy is also believed to have forced her to convert to Islam.

It is believed that Joy was given the job of sewing boom belts to be used in the planned suicide mission. The belts have now been seized by authorities.

The ministry also announced on Saturday that it had uncovered a base in al-Jazira district of Riyadh used to house and equip jacket wallahs.

On Monday, the Interior Ministry announced it had intercepted an ISIS cell during four simultaneous operations in the Saudi capital Riyadh and the eastern city of Dammam.

Bangladesh
Another foreigner murdered
[Dhaka Tribune] With Sherlocks still nowhere near solving the mystery of last week's murder of an Italian in Dhaka, person or persons unknown yesterday bumped off another foreigner -- this time a Japanese -- in the northern district of Rangpur.

Kunio Hoshi, 65, was killed in broad daylight in Alutari area under Kawnia upazila of Rangpur district around 11am yesterday when he was going to his farm.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, a little lightbulb figuratively appeared over Bossy's head...
international Islamist krazed killer organization Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) has grabbed credit for killing Hoshi and threatened of more attacks yesterday.

"There will continue to be a series of ongoing security operations against nationals of crusader coalition countries, they will not have safety or a livelihood in Muslim lands," the group tweeted, reports news agency Rooters.

Earlier, after the murder of Italian national Cesare Tavella in Dhaka last week, the IS made the same claim. But the Government of Bangladesh said it had found no IS links in Tavella murder.

The government also claimed that the krazed killer group had no existence in Bangladesh because all of its previous attempts to recruit and organise had been stamped out with arrests.

According to Rezaul Karim, OC of the Kawnia cop shoppe, the assailants had been waiting at a certain spot which Hoshi passed every morning on his way to work at Katu Alutari.

The OC also said four people were tossed into the calaboose for interrogation. They are Hoshi's business partner Hira, house-owner Zakaria Haque Bala, rickshaw-puller Munnaf and a local resident Murad Hossain.

Hoshi took a farmland on lease from a Bangladeshi family who live in the Munshipara area of Rangpur district. Two members of this family live in Japan. He cultivated grazing-friendly Napier grass on a two-acre land of the farm.

Before being detained by police, Zakaria, owner of the house that the Japanese lived in, told news hounds that like everyday, Hoshi left home in the morning for the farm. "We got the news of the murder much later."

Shah Alam, a member of the family whose land Hoshi took lease of, told news hounds that he was a jolly man and built good relations with everyone he met. "I do not believe he could have any enemies."

Hoshi used to go from home to his workplace on Munnaf's rickshaw everyday. Munnaf is now a prime witness to the murder.

Before being detained by police, he told news hounds: "We [he and Hoshi] were going to the farm in the morning as usual. On the way, two masked men, both in shirts and jeans, stopped us and shot Hoshi and ran towards a cycle of violence. Another man, wearing a black helmet, was waiting on the bike at a little distance."

The place in Dhaka's Gulshan area where Italian national Cesare Tavella was killed last week was dark and deserted; but yesterday's scene of the crime was right in the middle of a busy street, just 300 yards from a busy market.

After the shooting, Hoshi was taken to the Rangpur Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
He's dead, Jim!
His body had been kept at the hospital morgue because he has no relatives in Bangladesh.

ASM Barkat Ullah, a doctor working at the hospital, said that Hoshi had three bullet wounds on the chest, waist and shoulder.

Iraq
Delta Force secretly killed Iranian agents in Iraq ‐ with IEDs
We need a Qods Organization tab?
By early 2007, some US intelligence estimates held that as many as 150 Iranian operatives were in Iraq. Many were member of the Quds Force, the covert arm of Iran's Shi'ite theocracy. Their mission was to coordinate the violent campaign being waged against US forces by Iraq's Shi'ite militias.

"It was 100 percent, ‘Are you willing to kill Americans and are you willing to coordinate attacks?' " said an officer who studied the Quds Force's approach closely. " ‘If the answer is "yes," here's arms, here's money.' "

The Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) set up a new task force, named Task Force 17.

Its mandate was simple: go after "anything that Iran is doing to aid in the destabilization of Iraq," said a Task Force 17 officer. But political restrictions hobbled Task Force 17, particularly as the US lowered its profile in Iraq. The country's Shi'ite-dominated government, headed by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, wasn't happy with any attacks that targeted Iran operatives or their Iraqi proxies.

But for a small number of Shi'ite targets, JSOC found a way around the political restrictions by killing its enemies without leaving any US fingerprints.

The command did this using a device called the "Xbox."

Developed jointly by Delta Force and SEAL Team 6, the Xbox was a bomb designed to look and behave exactly like one made by Iraqi insurgents, using materials typically found in locally made improvised explosive devices.

Dual Suicide Attack in Baghdad Kills 13
[ALMANAR.LB] Bomb blasts killed at least 13 people in one of Baghdad's main neighborhoods Saturday when three suicide kaboomers tried to break through a checkpoint, security officials said.

"Three jacket wallahs tried to cross the checkpoint at Adan square" in the Kadhimiyah neighborhood, Baghdad Operations Command front man Saad Maan said in a statement.

The attack took place at around 5:30 pm (1430 GMT) on Adan square, one of the main access points for the Shiite holy shrine of Kadhimiyah, which attracts many visitors on Saturdays.

Maan said the security forces at the checkpoint engaged the attackers and rubbed out one of the bombers by the nearby railway while the other two blew themselves up.

A police colonel said that one of the kabooms was caused by a suicide boom-mobile.

He said initial reports were of 13 killed and 37 maimed. A source at the nearby Kadhimiyah hospital confirmed the casualty toll.

Adan square has been repeatedly hit by attacks. More than 20 people died in a suicide kaboom there in February.

"The only solution to defend the Al-Aqsa mosque and to prevent Israelis from carrying out their plans there is for West Bank and Jerusalem residents to take up arms," Mahmud Zahar said in an interview posted on the Islamist movement's website.

Tensions have been high in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem recently, with Paleostinians and Israeli police clashing at the site, which is holy to both Muslims and Jews.

Zahar's call comes after numerous attacks on Paleostinians were reported in the West Bank Friday as Israeli troops searched for the suspected Paleostinian killers of a Jewish settler couple shot in front of their young children.

"Until now weapons have only served to protect the settlers and the occupiers," added Zahar, whose movement rules the Gazoo Strip. "But we should not forget the West Bank has great human resources that can be mobilized at any moment."

"The image of Paleostinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem throwing stones and Molotov cocktails has dealt a blow to the occupier," he said.
Something like that. The Times of Israel adds:
Ma'an quoted Paleostinian security forces as saying that the IDF raided the home of a man named Noud ad-Din Abu Hashya in the Askar refugee camp in Nablus. Hashya is believed to have been involved in the attack that killed the Henkins, Paleostinian security sources told the agency.

According to the report, IDF troops gave Hashya's family a notice for a demolition order on their home, which is expected to be carried out next week.
Consequences are often no fun at all.
The detainees are all thought to be linked to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, Ma'an said. Hamas praised the attack but did not claim responsibility. A Fatah group claimed to have carried out the killing.

IOF Hits Harshly at Palestinians in West Bank, Leaves 10 Wounded
[ALMANAR.LB] Ten Paleostinians were maimed by Zionist occupation fire in the West Bank on Saturday during a raid by troops hunting the murderers of a Jewish settler couple, Paleostinian police and medical sources said.

Paleostinians protesting against the raid in the territory's main northern city of Nablus hurled stones at soldiers, who responded with rubber bullets, tear gas and live ammunition, the sources said.

The Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy said "10 people were maimed by live rounds to the legs or stomach," and "four others were maimed in beatings" by security forces.

Tensions have soared in the West Bank since the settler couple were rubbed out in their car on Thursday evening.

Eitam Henkin and his wife Naama, both in the 30s, were buried in occupied Jerusalem on Friday.

The Zionist forces launched a huge manhunt for the gunnies, and deployed troop reinforcements to maintain order following Dire Revenge attacks by settlers.

Paleostinian police said Saturday's violence began when "dozens of occupation soldiers in military vehicles" entered an eastern neighborhood of Nablus, one of the largest cities in the West Bank.

"They placed in durance vile
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
eight people and conducted searches, entering properties by force and causing damage," the police said.

Apprehensive of rising tensions between settlers and Paleostinians after Thursday's shooting, the Zionist army said it had deployed "four battalions in order to prevent an escalation of violence in the area adjacent to the location of the attack".

28 ISIS militants killed in Hasakah clashes as Kurds regain positions
[ARA] At least 28 turban fighters of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) were killed during festivities with the Kurdish forces in the northeastern Syrian province of Hasakah, military sources reported on Saturday.

ISIS Lions of Islam had attacked Kurdish headquarters near Mount Abdulaziz in Hasakah countryside on Friday. Kurdish fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG) subsequently evacuated their centers in what they called a "strategic withdrawal".

"On Saturday, the YPG forces besieged ISIS Lions of Islam near Mount Abdulaziz and killed dozens of Lions of Islam and destroyed several vehicles," a front man for the YPG Media Center told ARA News in Hasakah.

"Our forces collected 28 corpses of the terrorists, but the number could be much more," the source said. "We have also seized a large deal of ammunition following the strategic operation."

Also on Saturday, the Kurdish forces repelled an offensive by ISIS Lions of Islam in several villages in the western countryside of Hasakah, including Bdej, Ghara, Tel Hamam and Jafra.

"The terrorist group has tried to attack western Hasakah from several sides, but our forces have been prepared and we have received large reinforcements from neighboring areas. Our brave YPG forces have successfully repelled the attack and forced the Lions of Islam of Daesh (ISIS) to withdraw from the area," the YPG front man said.

The U.S.-led coalition's aircraft has provided air cover to the Kurdish forces during the festivities against ISIS.

"The coalition conducted more than three strikes in the southern countryside of Hasakah on Saturday, bombing ISIS supply line near Shaddadi," media activist Muhammad al-Ahmed told ARA News in Hasakah.

Russian Airstrikes Target al-Nusra Terrorists in Idleb
[ALMANAR.LB] Military sources on Saturday said that the al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front's positions in Jisr al-Shoghour in Idleb governorate and in Jabal al-Zawiya and Jabal al-Akrad in Lattakia province were pounded by the Russian fighter jets.

The military source in the Lattakia governorate said that the Russian Air Force struck a convoy of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front terrorist group that was making its way from the bad boy-held city of Jisr al-Shughour towards the northeastern territory of the province.

Likely the convoy was meant to reinforce embattled comrades.

The sources further added that the Russian fighter jets took off from the Hmeimiyat airfields inside the Bassel Al-Assad International Airport this morning for their operations.

In addition to their Arclight airstrikes over Northeastern Lattakia and Northwestern Idleb, the Russian air force is also targeting the al-Qaeda controlled cities of Ma'arat Al-Nu'man, Kafr Nabl, Sarmeen, Ariha, and Saraqib in Idlib governorate.

The Russian military command recently stated that these Arclight airstrikes should last up to 4 months; however, they could be extended if the Russian military is unable to destroy the ISIL offensive capacity in both Syria and Iraq.
