Haftar's forces pull out from Libya's Murzuq leaving behind several casualties
[Libya Observer] Violent festivities broke out on Wednesday morning in Murzuq town in southern Libya causing several deaths and injuries, sources reported.

According to the sources, festivities started as Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
's self-styled army forces started withdrawing late on Tuesday heading to Sabha.

According to Murzuq municipal member Mohammed Omar, four Tubu rustics were killed and three others were maimed in Deesa area after being shot at by an unknown group on Tuesday.

He told news hounds that discontent was on the rise in Murzuq after that incident and elders were trying to calm things down, especially after the vacuum left by the surprising withdrawal of Haftar's forces.

In addition to Murzuq, Haftar's forces withdrew from al-Gatroon area, according to sources, adding that they went also to Sabha but it's unknown where they will be positioned eventually.

Military media office of Haftar's command said on Tuesday they had sent military backup to "the place the military command has specified earlier," without naming the place.

A source close to Sirte Protection Force said they had depicted huge military convoys for Haftar's forces in southern Sirte heading to al-Jufra and Bani Walid, adding that the force personnel and military might is on alert and that Sirte is fully under control.

The source added that military backup arrived also in Sirte - 100 vehicles and 30 tanks - in addition to other 100 vehicles from different brigades that had been sent to Sirte.

Meanwhile,

Iraq
Mosul: ISIS attack Hashd in deadly ambush near Makhmour
[Rudaw] At least two fighters from the Hashd al-Shaabi militias were killed in an ISIS ambush on Wednesday.

"Hashd al-Shaabi forces were attacked by ISIS fighters Wednesday evening near djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
city," Ali Husseini, spokesperson for the paramilitary’s northern branch, told Rudaw.

Two of their ranks were killed and an unspecified number of others were maimed, he added.

The injured are being treated in hospital.

Between 14,000 and 18,000 ISIS holy warriors are estimated to still be operating in Iraq and Syria, despite military victories on both sides of the border. Iraq declared the group defeated in 2017. In Syria, the holy warriors are corralled into a tent camp near Baghouz.

In Iraq, they frequently carry out attacks against security forces and civilians, especially in security vacuums between Kurdish and Iraq forces.

The ambush on Wednesday happened in a mountainous area between Makhmour and Dubiz. The terrain makes it "even more difficult to reclaim the region from ISIS," said Husseini.

The Hashd have dispatched reinforcements to secure the area, he added.

"We do not know the exact number of the ISIS holy warriors who had ambushed our force," he said.

Sirwan Barzani, commander on the Peshmerga’s Gwer-Makhmour front, told Rudaw they are ready to help rush the maimed to hospitals in Erbil.

Palestinian 'Night Disturbance Unit' member successfully cured of ailments
[Aljazeera] Saif al-din Abu Zeid, 15, was shot in the head by Israeli sniper during Wednesday protest, Gaza health ministry says.

A 15-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli soldiers on Wednesday during an evening protest near the Israeli fence east of the Gaza Strip.

According to the Gaza ministry of health's spokesperson Ashraf al-Qidra, the teenager was identified as Saif al-din Abu Zeid, who was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper east of the besieged enclave.

Six other protesters were wounded by Israeli forces, and were taken to Shifa Hospital for treatment.

Every night since February, Palestinian young men known as the "night disturbance unit" have been gathering by the border with Israel as part of the "Marches of Return" protests, which began in late March last year.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians have taken part in the demonstrations, demanding Palestinians be allowed to return to the lands their families were ethnically cleansed from in 1948 by Zionist paramilitaries.

Israeli aircraft strike Gaza after rocket fire sets off Iron Dome following nightly protests, balloons, and border infiltration
For whatever reason, Hamas, et al need this to be their new normal. And so Israel is required to oblige.
[IsraelTimes] IDF confirms attack on Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, target; Gazook teen succumbs to wounds sustained during festivities along border as restive region continues to heat up.

Israeli warplanes bombed a Hamas post in the Gazoo Strip early Thursday, hours after a projectile was fired from the Paleostinian enclave, the army said.

"Fighter jets and aircraft struck several military targets in a Hamas compound in the southern Gazoo Strip," the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement Thursday.

The Hamas-linked Shehab news site said earlier that Israeli aircraft fired missiles at a "resistance" site northwest of Khan Younis in the southern Gazoo Strip, in the latest tit-for-tat reprisal as the region continued to heat up.

There were no immediate reports of casualties in the Arclight airstrike, which came as Gazoo’s Hamas-run health ministry announced that a 15-year-old boy had succumbed to wounds sustained during festivities with Israeli forces at the border fence Wednesday night.

The army said the strike, at about 1:30 a.m. was in response to explosives-laden balloons launched at Israel and a projectile shot from the Paleostinian enclave Wednesday night.

Hours earlier the army said that it had fired an Iron Dome air defense missile in response to incoming fire from the Strip. It was not clear the projectile from Gazoo had been intercepted or where it landed. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

The border region has seen increasingly intense bouts of violence over the last several days, with Israel carrying out airstrikes in response to explosives tied to balloons launched from Gazoo. On Wednesday, three bombs attached to bunches of balloons were launched from the Gazoo Strip and detonated above communities in the Eshkol region. The blasts caused neither injury nor damage, the Eshkol Regional Council said in a statement.

There have also been nightly festivities between Paleostinian rioters and troops along the border fence, including Wednesday night.

The Gazook health ministry said early Thursday that Saif al-Din Abu Zaid, 15, "succumbed to wounds he sustained a few hours ago on the border region east of Gazoo City."
See here for details about the suicidal lad.
The army said rocket sirens were accidentally activated in the Shaar Hanegev region as a result of rioters attempting to throw an bomb at troops across the border. In the nightly demonstrations, led by so-called "confusion units," participants generally set off loud explosives, burn tires and throw rocks at Israeli troops on the other side of the security fence. The Israeli soldiers typically respond with tear gas and, in some cases, live fire.

Israel has accused Hamas, a terror group that is the de facto ruler in the Strip, or encouraging the riots and using them as cover for more sophisticated attacks. Analysts also believe Hamas may be using the demonstrations to increase pressure on Israel to agree to a new ceasefire deal that includes allowing the transfer of millions of dollars in aid money.

An Egyptian delegation traveled to Gazoo this week in a bid to convince Hamas leaders to tamp down the violence. They warned that "creating tensions on the border by launching incendiary balloons will bring the IDF to launch a broad military confrontation in the Strip," according to a report from the Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper, which cited a senior Hamas source.

On Monday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
accused Israel of breaking a previous ceasefire, which has given way to the renewal of fighting.
Earlier Wednesday evening:
Several hundred Gazans said protesting on border, 4 injured by Israeli fire

[IsraelTimes] Several hundred Paleostinians are reportedly participating in protests along the Gazoo border. The Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run health ministry in Gazoo says four people have been injured by Israeli gunfire.

Jordan jails 2 for plot to attack Israeli troops over US embassy move
[IsraelTimes] Men given 10 years of hard labor each for plan to fire on soldiers in retaliation for US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Given that Jordan would be embarrassingly defeated by Israel whould they dqre to try going to war against them again, emforcing the peace on their citizens is the only option.
A Jordanian court on Wednesday sentenced two men to 10 years in prison with hard labor for planning an attack against Israeli forces on the kingdom’s border with the West Bank. The state security court in Amman ruled that the men, Jordanians both in their 20s, had planned to target Israeli soldiers with a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a pistol.

They had hatched the plan last year after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
announced his controversial decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel, sparking outrage among Paleostinians, a court document said.

One of those convicted planned "to carry out an armed terrorist operation... after (Trump’s) decision to move the American embassy to Jerusalem and over the abuses against Paleostinians by the Israeli army," it said.

The two men from the city of Madaba, 30 kilometers (20 miles) south of Amman, admitted they had also planned to open fire on Jordanian forces if they were intercepted, the charge sheet said. They were intercepted by Jordanian border guards in May last year, before they could cross the border and reach Israeli forces.
But didn’t open fire as planned? Such brave, brave Lions of Islam!
Jordan is the only Arab country apart from Egypt to have a peace deal with Israel. But the treaty is overwhelmingly opposed by Jordanians, more than half of whom are of Paleostinian origin.
...the other half being prince-of-the-desert Bedouins who despise the Palestinian peasants and deeply resent having to share the country with them.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Turkey, Iran to Stage Joint Raid against Kurd Rebels
[AnNahar] Neighbours The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
and Iran will carry out a joint operation against Kurdish rebels, state-run Anadolu news agency quoted the interior minister as saying on Wednesday.

"God willing, we will carry out a joint operation against the PKK together with Iran," Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said, referring to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party listed as a terror group by Ankara and Western allies.

Soylu did not specify which PKK bases the planned operation would target but President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
has previously said it would be against bully boy hideouts in Iraq.

Turkey has battled the PKK for decades, while the Iranian security forces have also fought its affiliate, the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK). Both groups have rear bases in neighbouring Iraq.

In 2017, Erdogan said a joint Ottoman Turkish-Iranian operation against Kurdish hard boyz was "always on the agenda".

He added that the two countries', military chiefs had discussed how to work against Kurdish bully boys, but Iran's Revolutionary Guards denied that at the time.

The PKK has waged a three-and-a-half decade insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state seeking independence, and more recently autonomy, for Turkey's Kurdish minority, that has left tens of thousands dead.

The Ottoman Turkish military has often bombed PKK bases in Iraq's mountainous regions.

Despite backing opposing sides in the Syrian conflict, both neighbours, which see themselves as historically powerful regional leaders, have recently been working with Syria-regime backer Russia towards a political solution to the crisis.

Large Turkish Army convoy enters northwest Syria: report
[ALMASDARNEWS] For the second time in the last five days, the Ottoman Turkish military has sent a large convoy to northwestern Syria.

According to local reports, a Ottoman Turkish military convoy consisting of over 100 soldiers and several vehicles was seen making their way to the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate this week.

The reports said the Ottoman Turkish military eventually reached their observation post at the small town of Sheikh Maghar, which is not ar from the Syrian Arab Army’s front-lines.

The Ottoman Turkish military currently has 17 observation posts in northwestern Syria; these posts are mostly located along the designated buffer zone, which is supposed to separate the rebels and the Syrian Arab Army.

Despite the Ottoman Turkish military’s insistence that they are simply there to maintain the peace, a source from the Syrian Arab Army said Ankara was deploying troops to northwestern Syria to block the government’s advance into Idlib.
