Sudanese Police Fire Tear Gas At Khartoum, Darfur Rallies Against President Omar Al-Bashir
[All Africa] Police used tear gas on Sunday to disperse thousands of protesters who gathered for the fourth week to demand the ouster of President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
, who has been in power for three decades.

Protests triggered by an economic crisis have rippled across Sudan since mid-December in the most sustained challenge yet to Bashir's rule.

Demonstrations were held in Gadarif, Faw and Amri, as well in the western region

of Darfur, activists said, with eyewitnesses adding that police had broken up a 1,000-person strong demonstration in the northern Darfur town of el-Fasher.

The demonstrations in Darfur were sparked last month by the decision to triple the price of bread.

Several Saudi troops killed in Yemeni forces’ retaliatory attack on Jizan
[PRESSTV] Yemeni forces have carried out a retaliatory drone attack against Saudi forces, killing a number of them in the Kingdom’s Jizan region.

According to Yemeni media, the drone attack was conducted by the Yemeni army and popular forces, and targeted a gathering of Saudi soldiers in Jizan region.

The attack reportedly left a number of soldiers killed and injured.

Yemen’s Houghi Ansarullah movement had previously threatened to carry out more retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-backed forces.

Earlier on Thursday, a Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
drone attack on Yemen's largest air base held by Saudi mercenaries in Lahij province killed at least seven ranking officials including top Saudi intelligence official Brigadier General Saleh Tamah, and left 11 other senior members of the Saudi-led operations center injured.

A high-ranking intelligence official injured in a Houthi drone attack on Yemen's largest air base held by Saudi mercenaries has died of his wounds, medical sources say.
Among those injured were deputy chief of staff Saleh al-Zandani, senior commander Fadel Hasan, and Lahij provincial governor Ahmad Abdullah al-Turki, with AFP saying the latter two had been transferred to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. for treatment.

The Ansarullah movement said that Thursday’s drone attack came in response to the continued aggression and blockade by the Saudi-backed forces, and repeated Saudi Arclight airstrikes which have put a UN-brokered peace agreement in the strategic port city of Hudaydah in jeopardy.

In December, the Ansarullah movement and Yemen’s former Saudi-backed government signed an agreement for a ceasefire in Hudaydah during UN-brokered peace talks held in the Swedish capital of Stockholm. However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
the Saudi coalition has repeatedly violated the truce deal.

According to the agreement, the Houthi fighters, who are in control of Hudaydah, and Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi’s armed militia together with Saudi-led forces ‐ who have placed the city under a tight siege since June ‐ must withdraw from the port and hand it over to UN observers.

Meanwhile,

the Ansarullah movement’s chief negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam announced on Sunday the Houthis have boycotted the ceasefire monitoring team in Hudaydah, accusing the head of the team of pursuing "other agendas."

The Yemeni official said retired Dutch Major General Patrick Cammaert, who was to chair the meeting, had "exited from the course of the agreement by implementing other agendas."

Thousands attend funeral for Kashmir rebel commander
[PRESSTV] Thousands of mourners gathered in disputed Kashmire on Sunday, January 13, for the funeral of a commander of pro-independence fighters, Zeenatul Islam, who was killed in a battle with government forces.

Islam and another fighter were killed in a gunbattle with Indian troops late on Saturday. Police said further festivities erupted on Sunday after government forces in the southern Shopian area tried to stop mourners from attending the funeral, which led to injuries to at least 16 people.

Most Kashmiris support the pro-independence cause that the territory be united either under Pak rule or as an independent country while also participating in civilian street protests against Indian control.

India and Pakistain each claim the divided territory of Kashmire in its entirety. Pro-independence fighters have been combating Indian control since 1989.

Palestinian arrested for allegedly shooting at Border Police base in November
[IsraelTimes] Suspect accused of attacking post near Abu Dis, with no casualties; 2 coppers lightly injured by rocks during Ramallah operation

Border Police overnight Saturday nabbed
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
a Paleostinian man suspected of firing at a guard post at a Border Police base near East Jerusalem.

The suspect, a resident of the town of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, was arrested near the Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Aumim.

The gunfire incident in which he is suspected occurred on November 27, 2018, and did not cause any casualties.

The suspect, in his 30s, has evaded several previous attempts to arrest him.

Last week four pipe bombs were hurled at the base. Only one went kaboom!, causing no damage or injuries. Officials said they were still seeking those involved.

Also overnight, two Border Policemen were lightly maimed by rocks thrown at them during an arrest operation in Ramallah.

A front man said hundreds of rioters gathered and attacked soldiers, burning tires and hurling rocks. Troops responded with riot-dispersal measures.

The maimed soldiers were taken to a Jerusalem hospital and later released.

On Friday a Paleostinian man tried to carry out a stabbing attack near the West Bank city of Hebron and was shot and critically injured by troops, the army said.

The Israel Defense Forces said the attacker was "neutralized" after attempting to stab soldiers at an army post near the Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, and was taken to the hospital.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
600 evacuated from ISIS holdout in eastern Syria
[IsraelTime] On Saturday, more than 600 people were evacuated from the remaining IS holdout in eastern Syria, a monitor said, as US-backed fighters prepare for a final assault on the area.

"Starting the long overdue pullout from Syria while hitting the little remaining ISIS territorial caliphate hard, and from many directions. Will attack again from existing nearby base if it reforms," Trump said.

"Russia, Iran and Syria have been the biggest beneficiaries of the long term US policy of destroying ISIS in Syria ‐ natural enemies. We also benefit but it is now time to bring our troops back home. Stop the ENDLESS WARS!"

Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights head Rami Abdel Rahman said that several dozen jihadist fighters were among those evacuated to areas held by the Kurdish-Arab alliance.

Abdel Rahman said some 16,000 people, including 760 IS fighters, have fled the area since the start of December, though this marked the first time the SDF and the coalition provided buses, suggesting a deal struck between the warring sides.

CIVILIANS STILL TRAPPED
The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
said Friday that overall some 25,000 people have fled the violence over the last six months as the die-hard jihadists have battled to defend their dwindling bastions.

An estimated 2,000 civilians remain trapped in the area around the town of Hajin, the United Nations said.null

The US-led coalition on Saturday fired over 20 missiles against jihadist positions, the Observatory said.

#1  LiveUAmap covers the entire world. They are guys from Ukraine who tracked russian military activities. They expanded their ops to cover all OSINT world wide events. They are very good at it. They want $10 a month but I see too much spam to pay for it that.

I want to keep them. They are damn good at this and it is hard work. Another group like this is RSOE EDIS Worthy of pay. -A Chech Republic Company tracking.

Another one I Love is ACLED

Please support them if you can. It has been a big help.

#2  Also, it is hard to find decent and timely private centric OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) sites. I want to make a few by combining them.

SDF troops reach ISIS stronghold after seizing nearby town
[AlMasdar] The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued their advance in the eastern part of the Euphrates River Valley tonight as their troops seized another town from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Backed by U.S. and French artillery strikes, the Syrian Democratic Forces managed to capture the small town of Abu Badran this evening after scoring a big advance earlier in the day.

According to reports from eastern Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Democratic Forces have now reached the outskirts of al-Sousah, which is the Islamic State’s last major stronghold in the eastern Euphrates region.

Inter-rebel civil war in Idlib is major victory for Syrian Army
[AlMasdar] The recent inter-rebel civil war in the Idlib Governorate has proven to be a major victory for the Syrian military and their allies as the jihadist takeover of the province allows for the government to resume plans for a northwestern Syria offensive.

Speaking to al-Masdar News from the government stronghold of Mhardeh, an officer from the National Defense Forces (NDF) said the recent Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
expansion in the Idlib and Aleppo provinces has only increased the Russian pressure on their Ottoman Turkish allies to remove these jihadist combatants.

"Russia is watching the conflict in Idlib very closely and pressuring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
to put an end to the terrorist presence," the NDF officer told al-Masdar News.

"There are already many Russians here (Mhardeh) and they keep sending more soldiers each day," he continued.

It has been no coincidence that the Syrian Arab Army has been amassing forces across the Idlib-Hama axis since Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham captured Jabal Shashabo and the eastern region of the al-Ghaab Plain from the Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Front
...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here...
(NLF); they will likely continue to build up their forces in a bid to force Turkey to either withdraw from their observation posts or expel the jihadist rebels.

With Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham eyeing the last three major cities (Saraqib, Ma’arat al-Nu’man, Ariha) under NLF control in Idlib, the entire opposition-held part of the province could soon be under the authority of the jihadist rebels.

Syrian Army allegedly deploys to northern Manbij
[AlMasdar] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has allegedly deployed to the northern part of Manbij, which is near the front-lines with the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the military is currently conducting patrols around the northern countryside of Manbij.

As a result of this move, the Syrian Arab Army is now positioned all over the Manbij countryside; however, they still do not have any presence inside the city.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are currently in full control of Manbij, despite constant threats from the Ottoman Turkish regime.
