The provincial government media office in a statement said the detained Taliban leader has been identified as Qudratullah and was arrested from Marko Bazaar area of Ghani Khel district.
The statement further added that Qudratullah was arrested by the security forces shortly after he opened fire on a soldier of the Border Police in Marko Bazaar.
The district administrative chief Haji Ghalib Mujahid said the security forces have also confiscated a gun which was used by Qudratullah in attempt to murder the Border Police soldier.
The statement by the provincial government also added that no one else was hurt during the attack by Qudratullah and the security forces encounter which led to his arrest.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] An kaboom took place close to the vehicle of a parliamentary candidate in southeastern Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... of Afghanistan, the local officials said.
The incident took place earlier today in the vicinity of the scenic provincial capital of Khost province.

Mangal further added that the kaboom took place earlier today in the vicinity of Puli Prozha area of Khost city, leaving a civilian maimed.
According to Mangal, no one else, including the parliamentary candidate Abdul Wali Ikhlas and his security guards, was hurt in the kaboom.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A deadly infighting erupted among the Talibs in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, leaving several Death Eaters dead, including one of their local commanders.
The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said Saturday that the infighting erupted among the supporters of two local leaders of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... group.
According to a statement released by 209th Shaheen Corps, at least 17 Death Eaters were killed during the infighting in Jurm district of Badakhshan earlier today.
The statement further added that the supporters of Qari Matiullah and Qari Ashor clashed among each other in Gharmi village.
A local commander of the group identified as Qari Hezbullah was among those killed, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.

[RADIOSHABELLE] Somali National Army (SNA) and AMISOM troops are finalizing plans to carry out offensive against al-shabab controlled areas in Hiran region.
Reports from Beledweyne district indicate that the Federal government forces backed by AMISOM troops from Djibouti and Æthiopia contingents were readied to launch massive security operations aimed to degrade the threats of al-shabab in the region.
The joint forces are expected to capture Boco locality located 55 kilometers outside Beledweyne district, where al-shabab’s main court is situated.
The new operation comes one day after the newly appointed Hiran governor, Yusuf Ahmed Hagar vowed to take stern actions against the local residents in the region who seek redress in al-shabab courts.
Mr. Hagar said his administration will make reforms on security and justice so as to restore the confidence of the people.
Al-shabab fighters who have heavy presence in these areas have blocked the supply routes that link the main towns in Hiran region and often carried out deadly attacks from these areas.

[Libya Observer] Two gangs engaged in heavy fighting in Wirshiffana region, southwest of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , on Friday.
Local sources said the festivities broke out in Enjila and Awlad Issa districts between Brigade 55 led by Muammar Dawi and Brigade 3 led by Ramzi al-Lifah.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The real reason of the festivities remained unknown, but the sources said both gang, which are registered with the Defense Ministry of the Presidential Council, are vying for control of the entire region.
There are reports that Brigade 55 is backed by the Military Council of Zintan.
Meanwhile, ...back at the laboratory the smoke and fumes had dispersed, to reveal an ominous sight... the General Electricity Company said power transmission lines in the areas of festivities were damaged, warning of a total blackout from south Tripoli to Zawiya city if the festivities continue.

[Libya Observer] The front man of Kufra Military Zone of Dignity Operation, Miftah Bouzid, said that two of the Subul al-Salam Salafist Brigade were killed and five others maimed in armed festivities against Chadian rebels, which took place Friday near Al Jaghbub Oasis in the eastern Libyan Desert.
Six Chadian rebels were also killed in the festivities, he added.
Bouzid clarified that Subul al-Salam Brigade seized four armed cars from the Chadian gangs, which he accused of being responsible for the killings, kidnapping, and looting in the region, especially on the Jalu - Kufra road.
He also pointed out that the security forces are conducting intensive patrols near the area of festivities in anticipation of any attacks by gangs that might have entered the Libyan border.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The engineering teams of the Yemeni army were able to remove more than 400 landmines and improvised bombs planted by the Houthis in the district of Baqam north of the Saada province.
Brig. Gen. Aziz al-Khattabi, the commander of the third brigade of the Yemeni army, said that the engineering teams took the mines and IEDs planted by the Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... militias in a number of villages and farms in the Baqam district.
He pointed out that the militias are laying mines in residential neighborhoods and public roads without taking into account the presence of civilians and their safety.

[Hurriyet Daily News] Spurred by testimony from a key plotter of the deadly 2013 double boom-mobileing in Reyhanli, Ottoman Turkish security forces are now seeking out eight suspects, according to judicial sources.
Ankara prosecutors issued warrants for the suspects, including one identified as Mehmet Gezer, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
According to the testimony of Yusuf Nazik, Gezer played a key role in the bombing, the sources added.
Captured by Ottoman Turkish intelligence in the Syrian port city of Latakia on Sept. 12, Nazik, 34, has confessed to playing a role in the deadly bombing in the southern Ottoman Turkish border town of Reyhanli in the Hatay province which killed 53 people.
Nazik is now being interrogated by security and intelligence teams in the capital Ankara.
In his interrogation, Nazik told Ottoman Turkish security forces that on a tip off from Syrian intelligence units, he scouted the scene of the crime prior to the attack and moved explosives from Syria to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire.... .
Nazik was brought before the Ninth High Criminal Court in Ankara and jugged Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! on Sept. 24.
The May 2013 bombings in Reyhanli left 53 dead.
Some 912 buildings, 891 workplaces, and 148 vehicles were also heavily damaged in the attack.

Significantly, an announcement of major action against Pak Rangers was made by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Director General of BSF KK Sharma on the day the country was celebrating second anniversary of surgical strikes against Pakistain.
Official sources told the Excelsior that exact location of massive retaliation against Pakistain has been kept secret due to strategic reasons but it was in Jammu sector on the International Border and the action was undertaken two to three days back in which the Rangers suffered heavy casualties and damages.
"Not only Narender Singh’s killing has been avenged but Pakistain has been taught such a lesson which it will remember for long times to come. Pakistain has been given befitting reply in response to mutilation of the body of Narender Singh after his killing in Ramgarh sector of Samba district on September 18," sources said. Narender was a resident of Sonepat, Haryana.
After Narender’s body was recovered in mutilated condition, India had warned to avenge the killing and teach Pakistain a lesson. Sources said the security forces have fulfilled their commitment by taking stern action against the Pak Rangers, who were responsible for killing and mutilation of the body of Narender Singh.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh disclosed strong action taken against Pakistain while addressing a function at Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.
He indicated that Indian forces struck hard at Pakistain two-three days back, retaliating to the killing of a BSF jawan at the International Border.
He didn’t disclose either location of the action taken or nature of the action by the armed forces but asked people to trust him on this.
"Hua hai, theek-thak hua hai. Vishwas rakhna, bohot theek-thak hua hai do-teen din pehle. (Something has happened, something substantial has happened. Believe me, something very substantial has happened a couple of days back)," Rajnath said and declared that such Indian action will take place in the future as well.
He made the comment while referring to the killing of BSF jawan Narendra Singh on September 18. The jawan was shot and then his throat slit.
"I have told my BSF jawans that Pakistain is a neighbour and so you shouldn’t fire the first bullet. But if a bullet comes from their side, then you shouldn’t count how many bullets you fire," Rajnath said.
BSF Director General KK Sharma, who is retiring tomorrow, has also confirmed strong retaliatory action taken against Pakistain. He said it wasn’t necessary that we take action in the same area where the BSF has been targeted.
"We have hit back very effectively and Pakistain has been taught very strong lesion," he said in New Delhi.
Sources disclosed that the retaliatory action taken by the BSF using heavy caliber weapons.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pie fight, Bella grabbed the cocoanut cream... Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that deterrent action against Pakistain will continue at the borders.
"There are intrusions on the border and we are also eliminating a lot of them (the bully boys) at the border itself, not allowing them to infiltrate. I believe an action of this kind will deter Pakistain from training and sending forces of Evil into Jammu and Kashmire," she said.
However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... she added, the Army action will continue at the border irrespective of whether Pakistain learn a lesson or not.
Days after this killing in Ramgarh sector in the Jammu region, Army chief Bipin Rawat had said stern action was needed to avenge barbarism by forces of Evil and the Pakistain army.
"It is time to give it back to them in the same coin, but not by resorting to similar kind of barbarism. I think the other side must feel the same pain," he had said.
According to sources, it was a well planned operation which was undertaken by the BSF to avenge the killing of martyr Narender Singh and teach Pak Rangers a lesson for their barbarism.
"The operation was executed successfully," they said, adding Pak Rangers were taken by surprise and suffered heavy casualties and damage. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... exact number of casualties or damage couldn’t be ascertained immediately.
Sources said that details of the retaliatory action could be shared by the BSF at a later date.

[PhilStar] Abu Sayyaf gunmen before dawn on Tuesday released a school teacher they had seized in Sulu over the weekend.
Government official Rasol Mitmug, Jr. said at noon Tuesday that high school teacher Shariff Benjamin Asamli Ubaid is now with his family after three days of captivity. He said, "I received information from provincial education officials in Sulu that the kidnapped teacher has been released."
Ubaid reportedly told investigators that his abductors were members of an Abu Sayyaf group holding out in Patikul. Police spokesman Graciano Mijares said the victim was abducted Saturday afternoon in Barangay Latih in Patikul near Jolo, capital town of Sulu province.
“He was flagged down by armed men while on his way to a bakery there, blindfolded and brought somewhere else. One of his abductors called his relative using his mobile phone to ask for ransom,” Mijares said.
The Sulu provincial police and units of the Western Mindanao Command launched a search for Ubaid on Monday when his family reported the abduction. His family is rumored to have paid a ransom of P200,000 for his release.
Mijares said investigators are still validating the alleged payment of ransom to the kidnappers. He said, "The government doesn’t allow that. We are to verify that yet," he said.

[DAWN] Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Friday they had killed four holy warriors who had allegedly slipped across the border from Pakistain to try to carry out an attack.
They said two other holy warriors were maimed in the clash in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, with the "rest of the Lions of Islam fleeing to the soil of the neighbouring country".
Sistan-Baluchestan has a large, mainly Sunni Baluchi community, which straddles the border into the Balochistan...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... province of Pakistain.
Sunni group Jundallah ..."Soldiers of God," a name used by two separate terror outfits, one active in Iran and the other in Pakistain. Both are Sunni organizations that target Shiites. The Pak version has close relations with al-Qaeda and the Pak Talibs and is probably a false nose and mustache for Lashkar-e-Jhangvi... or Soldiers of God launched a bloody insurgency in the area in 2000 targeting the security forces and officials of Iran’s Shia-dominated government.
The campaign peaked with a spate of deadly attacks from 2007 ‐ including twin suicide kabooms against a mosque that killed 28 people ‐ but abated after the group’s leader was killed in mid-2010.
In 2012, Jundullah members formed a successor organization called Jaish al-Adl or Army of Justice, which has carried out a spate of attacks on the security forces.
Iran has alleged that the group has received support from the US, British and Israeli intelligence services with the complicity of Pakistain.
