#1  First time I remember falling in love was when the circus came to my small town. I was 4yo and the most beautiful Russian girl came into the laundromat. She gave us kids candy and free tickets to the weekend show so we could watch her on the horses. Two days later the circus was gone.

Gotta catch love when you can, it is fleeting.

#2  Every kid dreamed back about running away from home and joining the circus. As an adult, that still sounds like a good idea sometimes.

Africa Horn
Al-Shabab Kill Civilians In Kenyan Border Region
[RADIOSHABELLE] al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
bully boyz on Friday killed two civilians in Garissa county in northeast Kenya, a government official said.

Northeastern regional commissioner Mohammed Birik confirmed the incident at Handaro saying a security operation was underway to try and arrest the bully boyz who were believed to be still hiding in the forest.

Eyewitnesses said about seven armed al-Shabaab bully boyz had stopped a Garissa-bound commuter bus and ordered all non-locals (Christians) to alight from the bus which had left Holugho town at 9 am and was heading to Garissa when the incident happened at 11 am.

According to the witnesses, the bully boyz who were all speaking in Swahili emerged from a nearby thicket where they intercepted the bus and ordered the driver to stop before entering in. They then ordered commuters to produce his identification card.

"The three non-locals were then separated from the rest of us (Moslems) before they were told to recite the Moslem Shahada and suratul Fatiha (Koran verses), the complete seven verses," said the teacher who refused to be identified.

Only one of them managed to do all the verses. He was left while his two colleagues, a bus conductor identified only as Joshua and the other a casual laborer had their hands tied before being executed.

After committing the heinous act, the bully boyz then escaped to unknown location.

"These bully boyz were seven in number. They were all conversing in Swahili with one guy who resembled like a person from the Arab origin. They never seem to be in a hurry even as they went about carrying out the exercise," said the teacher.

The incident comes after the regional government announced the recruitment of the Kenya police reservists in all the 60 locations across the region to enhance border patrols.

Syria: Israel launched missile attack on Damascus airport
]Yahoo] Israel attacked Damascus International Airport with missiles Saturday night, Syrian state media said, adding that air defenses shot down some of them. A war monitoring group said the attack targeted an arms depot for Iranian forces or Lebanon's Hezbollah group.

Explosions during the attack were heard across Damascus. The state news agency SANA posted pictures showing what appeared to be air defenses firing into the air.

State media quoted an unidentified military official as reporting the attack but gave no further details.

Rami Abdurrahman, who heads the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said the attack targeted an arms depot near the airport where new weapons recently arrived for the Iranians or Lebanon's Hezbollah group. The monitoring group had no immediate word on casualties, saying the strike did cause material damage.

According to a military communique from Al-Quneitra, the Syrian Army raised their national flag over the town of Bir Ajam, which is located just east of the occupied Golan Heights.

The Syrian Army reportedly cleared Bir Ajam of all explosives that were left behind by the jihadist rebels that once controlled this town.

In the coming days, the Syrian Army is expected to raise their national flag over more towns that have been cleared of explosives in Al-Quneitra and Dara’a.

Hama-Idlib border: No reconciliation with Al Nusra, Ahrar al Sham big turban meets his end, Gov’t bigshot tours front lines, Syrian army bombard rebels

Russia says ‘no reconciliation’ with terrorists in Idlib

[AlMasdar] (7:30 A.M.) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his German counterpart Heiko Maas in Berlin on Friday.

The two diplomats discuss a number of topics, including the ongoing situation in Syria’s Idlib province.

According to Lavrov, there will be no reconciliation offered to the terrorist forces in the Idlib province; this includes groups like Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

“We along with our Turkish partners are vigorously working on solving the situation in Idlib in a full accordance with the arrangements which were made during the process of creating the de-escalation zone over there. The arrangements entail the announcement of the ceasefire with one crucial exception – terrorists are not included. No reconciliation, no ceasefire regime includes terrorists.”

Lavrov said that Russia will continue to abide by international humanitarian law when conducting military operations in Syria.

“We always stick to International humanitarian law when we conduct operations involving military action. I will remind you that the Russian Federation has a military presence in Syria at the request of its official government, the government of the UN member state, the government which sovereignty as well as the Syrian territorial integrity were confirmed by the UN SC resolutions for many times.”

The Russian Foreign Minister would conclude that his country is still working with Turkey to find a possible settlement in the Idlib Governorate that would avoid any violence.

SOT, Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister (Russian): “Together with our Turkish partners who cooperate in a very constructive manner on this issue we facilitate local arrangements between the units of the moderate opposition and the government forces, the same way as we did in the other de-escalation zones when they existed. We also encourage the creation of humanitarian corridors, safe zones for the civilians.”

...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
militant group in northern Hama.

The Ahrar Al-Sham commander, Abu Walid Kernaz, was reportedly positioned near the Syrian Army’s front-lines in northern Hama, when an artillery shell struck his positions this week.

As shown in the up close footage below, Abu Walid Kernaz was positioned near his vehicle, when shrapnel from the artillery shell hit him:

Ahrar Al-Sham is one of the largest rebel groups currently fighting in northern Hama; they have vowed to defend all of the Idlib Governorate and their remaining positions in Latakia, Aleppo, and Hama.

Syrian Defense Minister tours front-lines in Idlib, Hama before offensive

[AlMasdar] (4:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Minister of Defense, General ‘Ali ‘Abdullah Ayoub, reportedly traveled to northwest Syria, today, on behalf of President Bashar Al-Assad.

According to a military communique, General Ayoub toured the front-lines in the Hama and Idlib governorates, while also meeting with the commanders in the provinces.

No further details were released.

General Ayoub often makes these visits prior to the Syrian Arab Army’s scheduled offensives.

Syrian Army attacks jihadist rebels in northern Hama and southern Idlib

[AlMasdar] (6:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) resumed their strikes on northern Hama and southern Idlib this afternoon after a quiet morning in northwest Syria.

According to a military source in the provincial capital of Hama, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies heavily bombarded the towns of Al-Lataminah and Kafr Zita this afternoon, hitting a number of targets belonging to Jaysh Al-Izza in the area.

The military source added that the Syrian Arab Army’s assault then spread to the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, where they struck the jihadist rebel defenses at the imperative towns of Taman’ah and Sukeek.

The Syrian Army’s assault in Idlib and Hama has been limited thus far, as they have only fired missiles and artillery shells towards the enemy’s positions.

They are expected to begin their push into the rebel-held areas in northern Hama and southern Idlib after the meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Aleppo: Turkey threatens invasion if Syrian army attacks Idlib, Syrian spy takes another video
Turkey threatening to launch Tel Rifaat offensive if Syrian Army attacks Idlib
“Nice country ya sorta got there — be a shame if something happened to it.”
[AlMasdar] (2:45 P.M.) – Turkey is attempting to persuade Russia and Iran to force the Syrian Army to halt their offensive plans in northwest Syria, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar this afternoon.

According to the source, Turkey is seeking an open-ended ceasefire that would be observed by their troops, Russia, and Iran.

In order to disuade the Idlib operation, Turkey has allegedly threatened to launch an offensive at the key town of Tal Rifa’at, the source added.

Over the last few weeks, the Turkish military has gradually built-up their forces near Tal Rifa’at, prompting the Syrian Army to respond by sending reinforcements to the nearby town of Deir Jamal.

This show of force by Turkey has raised alarms in Damascus, as Tal Rifa’at is located just north of Aleppo city and the government strongholds of Al-Zahra’a and Nubl.

While negotiations are still ongoing between Ankara and Moscow regarding Idlib, the Syrian Army has continued to beef up their forces in both Hama and Latakia, signifying that an offensive is imminent in these provinces.

Syrian Army spy films from strategic Turkish border-crossing

[AlMasdar] (5:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) released a new video of one of their spies filming from a strategic Turkish border-crossing.

In the video below, the Syrian Arab Army spy is filming while driving towards the strategic Bab Al-Hawa Crossing.

The Bab Al-Hawa Crossing is one of the most important border points for the rebel forces, as it has been used in the past to move their troops from the Aleppo province to Idlib.

The Syrian Arab Army has been releasing several of these videos as of recent in order to continue their psychological war as their Idlib offensive approaches.

#1  I think Turkey would agree to partition areas of influence in Idlib and also Efrin but somehow Assad isn't going to go for that.

It would be nice to see Syrian and Turkish troops actually killing each other but unfortunately, there are lots of civilians in the area.

As-Suweida: Army kills scores of ISIS turbans, Russan airstrikes pave the way

Scores of ISIS terrorists killed as Syrian Army liberates several areas in southern Syria

[AlMasdar] (1:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive in southern Syria, today, after repelling several Islamic State (ISIS) attacks on Friday.

Led by their 3rd Division, the Syrian Arab Army managed to crack the Islamic State’s lines this morning at the ‘Ard Qa’banat axis in the northwestern part of the Al-Safa region.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army broke through the Islamic State’s lines in ‘Ard Qa’banat and liberated several points that were occupied by the terrorist group.

In addition to the advance, the Syrian Arab Army also killed a number of Islamic State fighters, including ten snipers that were positioned along the northwestern part of the Al-Safa region.

This advance on Saturday will prove imperative in the coming days, as they now have fire control over the Islamic State’s last water source in the Qabr Sheikh Hussein area.

Russian Air Force unleashes powerful assault against ISIS in eastern Syria

[AlMasdar] (2:20 P.M.) – For the third day in a row, the Russian Air Force has launched a plethora of airstrikes over the Islamic State’s (ISIS) positions in eastern Syria.

Led by their Sukhoi jets, the Russian Air Force launched several airstrikes, today, over the Al-Safa and Badiya Al-Sham regions of eastern Syria.

These Russian airstrikes paved the way for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies to make a significant advance through two different Islamic State pockets.

Among the biggest advances made by the Syrian Army on Saturday took place in the Al-Safa region, where the latter managed to seize several points from the Islamic State terrorists.

Since entering into peace talks with Turkey on the Idlib situation, the Russian Air Force has concentrated their efforts on the Islamic State’s last pockets in eastern Syria.

In a matter of 72 hours, the Russian Air Force has launched over 40 airstrikes above the Islamic State’s positions, causing considerable damage to the terrorist group’s fortifications in the process.

Homs: Syrian Army launches offensive against ISIS near Tanf (video)
American commander overheard on the phone to President Assad, “I’m begging you, with tears in my eyes, please do not make us defend ourselves against attack again. Putin was not happy how that turned out.”
[AlMasdar] The Syrian army has launched a surprise offensive against ISIS* murderous Moslems north of al-Tanf in Homs province. The government forces have struck Lion of Islam positions in the settlements of Kobajjep and al Rashwaniyah, control of which opens the way to the strategically important area of Humeimah, which lies along the border with Deir ez-Zor province.

A military source told Sputnik that "the Syrian army is dealing the final blow to the last enclaves of ISIS fighters in a desert in central Syria. This is an area between Homs, Deir ez-Zor and Damascus. The army managed to liberate vast territories, destroy dozens of snuffies and shelters that were located in the rocks."

The source further noted that "the Syrian aviation helped infantry units to conduct a successful attack on the position of terrorists." As a result, a large-scale operation to completely clean up this area of the country has nearly come to an end, the insider added.

The offensive came shortly after Rooters had cited a commander of the Pentagon-backed Maghawir al-Thawra Lion of Islam group as saying that joint drills with the US-led coalition, which wrapped up near the US military base in al-Tanf, were the first such exercised with live-fire air and ground assault, involving hundreds of American marines and rebels.

"These exercises have great importance and have enhanced the defenses of the area and improved the combat capabilities and morale and that of civilians in the area," Colonel Muhanad al- Talaa was quoted as saying.

US military front man Sean Ryan, in turn, told the media outlet that the exercises were a show of force, which he claimed were conducted "to reinforce our capabilities and ensure we are ready to respond to any threat to our forces within our area of operations."

The report came on the heels of a statement by a spokesperson for the coalition’s anti-ISIS operation who dismissed the allegations that there was a terrorist camp near the US base in al-Tanf as "malign propaganda."

"There is no terrorist camp within the al-Tanf de-confliction zone, which runs in a 55k diameter around the Coalition’s al-Tanf Garrison."

Nearly two weeks ago, Syrian government forces captured two snuffies near Palmyra, who claimed that they were members of the Lions of the East group, the Russian Defense Ministry stated. The two detainees also admitted that they had been trained and armed by American instructors in a camp near the al-Tanf military base.

The US-led coalition has been conducting Arclight airstrikes against what it referred to as ISIS targets in Syria without either a UN mandate or Damascus’ authorization. The Syrian government has repeatedly denounced their military presence as illegal, demanding that the American forces leave the country and withdraw from the al-Tanf base.

Deir Ezzor: US-backed forces make significant advance in ISIL’s Euphrates pocket (video)
[AlMasdar] The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued their field operations in the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate this week.

Backed by the French and US air forces, the SDF managed to score a major advance inside the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s (ISIS) large Euphrates pocket.

According to the official media wing of the SDF, their troops have seized several points inside the towns of Baghouz Fouqani and al-Sosah in a bid to cutoff the terrorist group’s main supply lines.

In addition to the ground advance, the Syrian Democratic Forces also captured one Islamic State terrorist alive.

The SDF said the Islamic State bully boy is an Algerian national that had been fighting with the terrorist group for several years.
