Two security posts fall to Taliban in Faryab’s Pashtun Kot District, 10 policemen missing
Two security posts have fell to Taliban militants in Pashtun Kot District of northern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.
Governor of Pashtun Kot District said five security posts were surrounded by Taliban since one week.

He said Taliban seized two of the five posts last night and 10 policemen who were on duty there have been missing with their belongings.

The district governor warned if reinforcement does not reach in Pashtun Kot District three more posts would fall to Taliban and endanger the lives of about 40 policemen.

Farah which was comparatively a safe province in the northern part of the country witnessed severe insecurity this year.

Several deadly clashes took place between militants and security forces in this province.

Last month, Taliban attacked the province’s Ghormach District and controlled it for several days.

They also captured the district’s police chief with 12 other policemen and later martyred them.

65 Security Force Members Surrender to Helmand Taliban: Officials
At least 65 Afghan security force members reportedly surrendered to the Taliban in southern Helmand province on Friday, local officials said.

Mirza Rahimi, the provincial governor, said at a press conference on Saturday that "65 Afghan security force members including three commanders surrendered in Sangin district," and that "the situation is under control in the district."

Rahimi said in the past month more than 200 Taliban insurgents were killed and injured.

"Eighty five Afghan security force members and three civilians were also killed in clashes," he said.

"More troops have arrived and we have started military operations in Marjah district and the forces have re-taken control of most of the areas which were under control of insurgents but clashes continue."

But provincial council officials rejected these claims and said "so far no operation has been launch in Marjah."

However, the officials said that heavy clashes are also ongoing in the capital of Sangin district but so far no reports of casualties has emerged.

Ministry of Defense officials say it ain't so

Freed Hostages Claim Taliban Freed Them Not Govt
Five of the 31 Zabul bus passengers kidnapped in February arrived in Kabul on Saturday and said it had been the Taliban who freed them from Daesh insurgents.

According to one freed hostage, clashes erupted between Taliban and Daesh early this week. Taliban allegedly seized the area from Daesh and then released them, he said.

The 31 Zabul bus passengers were kidnapped in February by alleged Daesh militants who had stopped several buses on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.

The kidnappers reportedly took the hostages to Khak-Afghan district in Zabul.

One freed hostage Mohammad Yusuf said: "We were severely beaten by them [Daesh]. They were very cruel to us and they often warned us that 'we will kill you'."

He went on to say that Daesh militants warned: "If government does not swap you we will behead you."

The freed hostages said that although government claims it freed eight hostages in an operation, there were only five of them. They also rejected claims that security forces had rescued them and said the Taliban freed them following a clash with Daesh.

Another freed hostage Khuda Bakhsh said: "We were freed by Taliban. We were moved by the Taliban to another place where they gave us a key to unlock our handcuffs."

However, President Ashraf Ghani maintained earlier this week that a security forces operation had resulted in the successful release of the hostages. He said at the time eight were released.

"We are firm on our commitments ... that the release of them [the hostages] was as a result of our operations and sacrifices otherwise the 19 and eight others would not have been free today," Ghani said.

The five hostages were part of a group of 31 bus passengers kidnapped in February. One was released hours later and 30 were held captive.

Daesh militants were allegedly behind the kidnapping and are believed to have killed five hostages following the incident.

Nineteen were freed in an alleged prisoner swap.

Six hostages remained – of which public perception was that they had been killed. However, last month another hostage was released.

On Monday the remaining five went free and were brought to Kabul on Saturday.

On Tuesday, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement that eight were freed early in the week. However, the freed hostages said it was only the five of them that were released.

Over a dozen killed in Shaboob raid on military base
KISMAYO, Somalia -- At least twelve people have been reported killed in night raid by Al Shabaab militants on military academy on the outskirts of the southern port city of Kismayo, Garowe Online reports. Late on Friday night, the raid triggered fierce gun-battle that lasted three hours, residents said.

Beleaguered Al Shabaab group boasted that it killed 17 Jubaland soldiers, and seized weapons cache in the apparently coordinated assault.

Nevertheless, a spokesman for Jubaland forces said, they lost seven soldiers in the raid: “We repulsed attack designed to be another Leego,” he said on condition of anonymity, referring to deadliest assault by militants on African Union peacekeepers in June.

Some sources put death toll in the attack at 20; figures have not been confirmed yet by either side.

Galmudug forces take villages near Harardhere town from Shaboobs
Forces loyal to the newly formed interim administration of Galmudug state have retaken villages from Al shabaab after an attack against militants in Mudug region.

Galmudug troops pushed militants out of Hanra and Qosol-Tire villages located in the outskirts of Harardherer, the biggest Al shabaab stronghold in Mududg region of central Somalia.

Today’s fighting near Harardhere town came after Galmudug forces moved to Hanra and Qosol-Tire villages to give military support to local residents who resisted an Al shabaab order to accumulate Zakah (an Islamic levy on wealth).

US wages air strike on ISIS leader in Libya: US officials
[AlAhram] The U.S. military launched an air strike targeting the ISIS leader in Libya, U.S. officials told Rooters on Saturday, adding two F-15 aircraft were used in the attack.
Ynet adds:
An American Arclight airstrike has targeted and likely killed a top Islamic State

leader in Libya, in a strike that happened just as the Gay Paree terrorist attacks were under way, the Pentagon said Saturday.

Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook said the US strike targeted Abu Nabil, also known as Wissam Najm Abd Zayd al Zubaydi, an Iraqi national who was a longtime al-Qaeda operative and later became the senior Islamic State leader in Libya.

#1  Sometimes, when a 'movement' gets going, it finds its own leaders, so offing some here and some there, only slows it down a bit before another one steps forward. 'True Believers' just need someone, anyone to point the direction (particularly when they're just good for cannon fodder). At that point, you have to do introduce a new environment which is lethal to large numbers, not ones and twos.

Libya IS head killed in US air strike
A US air strike has targeted the leader of the Islamic State (IS) group in Libya and probably killed him, the Pentagon says. Iraqi national Abu Nabil, also known as Wissam Najm Abd Zayd al-Zubaydi, was a "long-time al-Qaeda operative", it said.

The strike took place on Friday and targeted a compound in Derna. The Pentagon said the strike showed that it would go after IS leaders "wherever they operate".

News agencies have quoted US officials saying they are confident Nabil was killed.
They've occasionally been wrong but we'll go with the Fat Lady...
"Nabil's death will degrade Isil's ability to meet the group's objectives in Libya, including recruiting new Isil members, establishing bases in Libya, and planning external attacks on the United States," Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said, using a different name for the group.

He said the operation had been authorised before terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday evening that IS claimed responsibility for. Cook added that Nabil may have been the IS spokesman pictured in a February 2015 video showing the apparent murder of Coptic Christians in Libya.

The strike on Nabil was the first against an IS leader in Libya, the Pentagon said. Reuters quoted an eyewitness who said the strikes occurred in areas controlled by IS militants in Derna's south-east suburb of Fattayah.

Kuwait koppers searching for bomber
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: The Farwaniya police were put on a state of alert after some worshippers saw a briefcase with a wireless system near a mosque in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh just before Friday prayers. After the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received the call, police and bomb disposal experts rushed to the scene and moved the briefcase to a safe place before checking its contents.

The briefcase reportedly belonged to the Meteorology Department but the question is who left it near the mosque. Police investigations are continuing. Meanwhile, a suspicious-looking bag was found near a cooperative society in Hawally, so the explosives experts were called in to inspect the contents. Eyewitnesses revealed an unidentified man dumped the bag in the area.

However, the explosives experts did not find any explosive material when they checked the contents of the bag. And, a police officer filed a case against a young woman who insulted him when he issued a traffic citation to her. It has been reported the young woman posted a video clip of herself insulting the policeman. This has prompted the concerned officers to intensify their investigations to take the necessary legal measures against the woman.

Houthis recruiting African mercenaries in Yemen
More fillers
Iranian-backed Houthis and their coup allies are training Africans to fight with them in Yemen and two of them were captured by the national resistance on Saturday, a Yemeni news network reported on Sunday.

Marib Press quoted a statement by the resistance as saying it captured seven insurgents during clashes that erupted when the rebels tried to infiltrate into their areas in the Southwestern Aldale town.

“Two of those captured are Ethiopians. The Houthis and their allies are recruiting mercenaries from African countries by training them at their military camps in Alhudeiydah and Albaydah,” a resistance source told the network.

In another development, the Houthis have committed 30 crimes in the Southern Ibb governorate over the past week against civilians in areas under their control, an average three crimes a day, according to the resistance’s information unit.

It said the crimes included two murders, wounding two civilians, 12 abduction cases, as well as lootings, bombing of houses, and disappearances of young men.

“In Jabla area, the Houthis and their allies raided many houses on Friday, looted some of them and intimidated children and women,” it said.

London Gatwick Terminal Evacuated over Suspect Package
Everyone is on edge...
[AnNahar] London's Gatwick Airport evacuated its North Terminal on Saturday due to "an incident", hours after a string of attacks in Gay Paree claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group killed 128 people.

"Due to an incident -- the North Terminal has been evacuated as a precautionary measure," said the airport's official Twitter account.

"Extra staff are on site looking after passenger welfare."

Sussex police later confirmed they were dealing with a "suspect package".

Gatwick is one of Britannia's busiest airports, handling 39 million passengers travelling to 200 destinations every year.

British security services are on high alert following the suspected attacks on a rock concert, restaurants and national football stadium.

Britannia's Foreign Office earlier updated its travel advice for British nationals in La Belle France, urging them to "exercise caution in public places and follow the advice of the local authorities".

Eurostar services between London and Gay Paree were running as usual on Saturday, despite initial concerns that French borders would be closed following the attack.

#2  Update from Al Ahram -- the package was Frnch, and was arrested:

Frenchman charged in London airport firearm scare

A Frenchman who triggered an evacuation of one of Britain's busiest airports on Saturday has been charged with possessing an air rifle and a knife, police said on Sunday.

Police said Jerome Chauris, unemployed and of no fixed address from Vendome, in central France, had been carrying the rifle and a lock knife -- a type of folding blade -- at London's Gatwick Airport.

Carrying a "dangerous article" in an airport, and carrying a knife in public "without good reason" are illegal in Britain.

Chauris, 41, was seen acting suspiciously and discarding an item in a bin at the busy transport hub, said police, who evacuated an airport terminal and brought in bomb disposal experts to carry out a small controlled explosion.

British security forces have been on high alert since gun and bomb attacks claimed by the Islamic State group killed 129 people in Paris on Friday.

Chauris has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on Monday.

Europe
Paris Attacks Raise Questions About French Intelligence Services
[BUZZFEED] PARIS -- As Parisians woke up to surreally empty streets on Saturday, they confronted an uneasy question -- how could France's security services have failed to prevent the previous evening's terrorist attack, the worst in Europe for a decade, just months after allowing another?

The highly coordinated nature of Friday's attacks, in which at least eight assailants launched near-simultaneous assaults in six different locations across Paris, killing over 120 people, has raised questions about whether French counterterrorism units received any warnings that an attack was imminent. Though all but one of the assailants detonated suicide vests, French President Francois Hollande declared within hours that they were ISIS militants directed from abroad. French media reported that one of them was previously known to police.

"We were expecting something. We knew it was coming," said one western diplomat who spoke to BuzzFeed News on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the subject. "The fact that we failed to stop it is definitely a failure. But you can't imagine the number of attacks we have stopped. This was the nightmare scenario. The targets were all soft targets. How can you protect against people determined to attack a bar or concert?"

At the Place de la RĂŠpublique, a few minutes from Bataclan, where at least 100 people were killed on Friday, Parisians gathered to leave candles and flowers at a makeshift memorial. A banner hung reading "J'ETRE HUMAIN," an ungrammatical pun on the "Je suis Charlie" rallying cry from the January killings. Graffiti artists painted the city's Latin motto, "Fluctuat nec mergitur": "Tossed, but not sunk."

#8  Seems to me it's the journalists who are throwing the security folks under the bus. I watched a couple of people 'covering' this the other night; Shepard Smith on Fox was just blathering in order to avoid dead air, so he fell back on the usual tired tropes about internet chatter and security warnings and the potential impact on Marine Le Pen in the upcoming elections. It seems like it's hard to stay focused on the core issues of radical islam and muslim immigration when you're trying to fill air-time.

#11  Well, with Rawalpindi, I could see maybe why the whole thing wasn't vaporized; maybe just ISI HQ? I assume you've been there? It's a big city with over a million people. And, to resurrect the old cliché, a few of my best friends are Pakistanis; albeit none of them work for the ISI. In the case of Raqqa, the impression I get is the ratio of ISIS to innocent, cricket-loving citizens is pretty high....different calculus.

The scary part of all this is that there are probably still a number of ways that terrorists could send messages to each other without speaking a word, if they really wanted to. An ISIS agent could spell out an attack plan in Super Mario Maker’s coins and share it privately with a friend, or two Call of Duty players could write messages to each other on a wall in a disappearing spray of bullets. It may sound ridiculous, but there are many in-game ways of non-verbal communication that would almost be impossible to track. To do so would require an FBI or NSA agent somehow tapping all the activity on an entire console, not just voice and text chat, and that should not even be technically possible at this point.

#16  Most on-line games have some sort of voice chat feature that allows talk between players in the game, or more privately, chat between members of a team. Rather like a Skype conference call without the Skype infrastructure.

But you don't need an on-line game server to communicate. Any device with a network interface and enough computing power to to open a socket will allow moderately clever people to do text-based chat between two endpoints.

A shared web-based email account allows you to exchange messages by simply leaving them as drafts that are never sent as regular, snoopable email.

Sure, it exists as a file on the server and is visible to the usual sysadmin or forensic tools. I meant it wouldn't be seen by a snooper watching traffic thru the mail system.

#20  Muslim terrorists are "youths" and are "chance for France" and nothing, even a nuclear attack will make the zeropean medias deviate from the story line...
The terrorists are extremists and the only time the "extremists" are named, they are "ISLAMOPHOBES"
So, the french public being just as brainwashed as the American public, they are presumed to assume that the authors are critics of Islam...the "ALLAH AKBAR" being supposed to be a redirection to deviate the blame...
a false flag so to speak...

Never mind that all french Cities are surrounded by "projects" called "Zones sans droits"(Outlaw zones) where the firemen, ambulances and police never venture less they be ambushed and killed.
These zones are ruled by drug lords, muslim mullahs and the shariah.

Video: Soccer Fans Sing French Anthem as They Leave Stadium
[PJ Media] It has become familiar to us in the Age of Terror to see the worst of what humanity is capable of doing bringing out the best in us. Think of that incredible moment in the early evening of 9/11 when about 150 congressmen stood on the capitol steps, holding hands, embracing. And then, at the conclusion of Speaker Dennis Hastert's brief but eloquent remarks, a completely unscripted moment occurred when members broke into a heartfelt rendition of "God Bless America." I was watching NBC News at the time and reporter Judy Woodruff broke down in tears describing it.

One of the targets of the attack in Paris was a soccer stadium where a match between France and Germany was going on. Following the game, fans were delayed in exiting by authorities who sent them back inside where they milled around on the field.

Finally, the police allowed the stadium to clear. And as the fans marched out, many of them began to sing the French national anthem, La Marseillaise.

Polizei intercept car with 8 AK's, grenades, TNT, Paris programmed SATNAV
[Breitbart] German police are scrambling to discover whether they inadvertently prevented another Islamist from joining the Paris massacre, after they arrested a man driving with a significant cache of weapons heading to Paris.

The arrest took place on Thursday the 5th, when during a routine inspection police investigated a car driven by a 51-year-old Montenegrin man as he drove west on the major Autobahn-8 road, shortly after crossing the border from Austria. When officers found two handguns and a grenade under the bonnet of the car, the search intensified, and they soon discovered a significant hidden arsenal.

Also secreted about the car behind panels were eight Kalashnikov assault rifles with ammunition, several handguns, two hand grenades, and 200 grams of TNT, reports Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The car wasn't only being driven west. Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann has confirmed that based on "the data of the man's [GPS] navigation system, and his cell phone there is strong evidence that the man wanted to go to France". German media have reported he specifically had Paris programmed into his sat-nav.

The Bavarian prime minister Horst Seehofer confirmed German security services believe the arrested individual may have been related to the terror cell who killed over 120 across Paris on Friday evening.

'Reason to Believe' Man Arrested in Germany Linked to Paris Attackers
[AnNahar] Bavaria's state premier Horst Seehofer said Saturday that there was "reason to believe" that a man nabbed
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
last week with several weapons in southern Germany was linked to attackers who killed more than 128 people in Gay Paree.

"There is reason to believe that this is possibly linked" to the attacks, Seehofer told a party conference.

Police had confirmed the arrest on November 5 during a routine check on a motorway, saying "many machine guns, revolvers and explosives" were found in the suspect's vehicle.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
the police front man would not confirm the link with Friday's attacks in Gay Paree.

"I cannot tell you what he was planning to do with the weapons," said the front man.
Perhaps a picnic in the park near the Bahnhof?
But for Seehofer, the arrest "shows how important it is for us to have some clarity on who is in our country and who is traveling through our country."

He reiterated his call for reinforced controls at Europe's external borders as well as at each European country's national border.

Alarmed by a record influx of asylum seekers in Germany, Seehofer has been pushing for a halt to Chancellor Angela Merkel

Focus Online reported that the arrested suspect was from Montenegro and that he has refused to speak in prison and not hired a lawyer to defend his case.

Police raid Brussels neighbourhood in link with Paris attacks, bolster border checks
[AlAhram] Belgian police raided Saturday a neighbourhood of the capital Brussels in connection with the deadly attacks in Gay Paree, public television RTBF reported.

The network quoted an unidentified source as saying up to three raids were being carried out in the Molenbeek district in connection with the Gay Paree attacks.

Belgium Bolsters Border Checks after Attacks in Paris

[AnNahar] The Belgian authorities said Saturday they have boosted checks on their borders, especially with La Belle France, following attacks in Gay Paree that have left at least 120 people dead. The authorities also urged increased vigilance for big events in Belgium over the weekend but said it was not necessary to increase the alert level.

"Reinforced border checks have been established on the borders within the framework especially of a close collaboration with the French authorities," according to Belgium's national center for threat evaluation, OCAM. OCAM said it was not necessary to raise the country's terror alert level and that the events in Gay Paree did not appear to have a "direct effect" on Belgium.

"OCAM nevertheless confirmed the need for increased vigilance for big events," it said, adding Belgian authorities were following the situation closely.

"As a precaution, a heightened awareness of the police services was requested for all big events planned at the weekend in Belgium as well as for the football match on Tuesday," it added. "People attending these big events are requested not to take baggage or bags in order to facilitate the increased checks that will be organized."

France-bound plane evacuated in Amsterdam after 'threats'
[AlAhram] A La Belle France-bound plane was evacuated to be searched Saturday before departing Amsterdam airport after "threats" against it were posted on Twitter, Dutch police said.

"We always take threats very seriously and we decided here to evacuate the passengers and to search the aircraft," police front man Dennis Muller told AFP.

He did not make any links however to the deadly Gay Paree attacks late Friday which have left at least 128 people dead.

"Threats were made against this flight in a tweet," Muller said.

He did not specify where the plane was headed in La Belle France, nor the name of the airline or what kind of threat had been made.

The Dutch news agency ANP however said it was flight AF1741 -- an Air La Belle France flight which was due to take off for Gay Paree at 2:45 pm (13H45 GMT).

According to the website of Schipol airport in Amsterdam, flight AF1741 was now due to take off around 4:00pm (1500 GMT) more than an hour after it had originally been scheduled to leave.

Following Friday's attacks, the Netherlands has decided to tighten border controls as well as checks at its airports and railways.

Holder of Syrian passport found near Paris gunman crossed Greece
The holder of a Syrian passport found near the body of one of the gunmen who died in Friday night's attacks in Paris passed through Greece in October, a Greek minister said, and another suspected attacker was thought to have entered Europe the same way.

"The holder of the passport passed through the island of Leros on Oct. 3, 2015, where he was identified according to EU rules," Greece's deputy minister in charge of police, Nikos Toskas, said in a statement.

Toskas did not know if the Syrian passport had been checked by other countries through which the holder might have passed on his way to France.
That should be something that Interpol can check but it may take some time given the crush of people. Yet another reason to turn off the "immigration" for a good long while.
A Greek police source said the passport's owner was a young man who had arrived in Leros on a small vessel from Turkey with a group of 69 refugees and had his fingerprints taken by Greek officials.

Three Greek government sources later said a second suspect was also very likely to have come into Europe through Greece, adding that an investigation was still under way.
"Be on the lookout for the 2nd perp. Short, swarthy, black hair, brown eyes. That is all."
Any identity documents and fingerprint records would have to be matched with the remains of the actual attackers to establish whether they passed through Greece posing as refugees, or perhaps bought or stole passports along the way.

If one or more of the attackers turn out to have come into Europe among the migrants arriving from war-torn countries, this could change the political and security debate about refugees and what to do with them.
Why yes, it just might...
Police declined to give the name of the Syrian passport holder, saying French authorities wanted to keep information about the suspect confidential. The source said there were no official records showing the man had left Greece, but that authorities believed he may have crossed into Macedonia.
Just following the crowd, or is this trade-craft by somebody who knew what he was doing?
The official record is the one noting the location of his body in Paris with the stamped passport nearby. The rest doesn't really matter in a continent with no border controls.
Greek police were also asked by French authorities to check on the holder of an Egyptian passport that was apparently found near the body of another attacker, the police source said.

Greece has seen about 600,000 refugees and migrants - mainly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq - arrive on its shores this year, mostly from nearby Turkey, hoping to reach wealthier northern Europe. The island of Leros, in the southern Aegean sea, is one of five preferred entry points where Greek authorities have been setting up so-called hotspots to register and identify arrivals.

#1  Update from Al Ahram about the Egyptian passport:

Egyptian passport found at Paris stadium belongs to critically injured victim, not suspect: Ambassador

Egyptian national Waleed Abdel-Razzak was found severely injured following bombings outside Stade De France

Ambassador to France Ihab Badawi said that the Egyptian passport recovered following the Paris attacks belongs to Egyptian national Waleed Abdel-Razzak, who was found after two suicide attacks and one bombing struck near Stade de France.

Abdel-Razzak reportedly sustained severe injuries in the bombing.

The Egyptian Ambassador also said that the media incorrectly portrayed Abdel-Razzak as a suspect in the bombings that struck Paris.

"No charges have been directed at Abdel-Razzak at all," Badawi said in a phone call with Hona Al-Asema daily show on privately owned CBC channel.

Confirming the Egyptian ambassador’s statements, Head of the Egyptian community in France, Salah Farhoud, announced in another television interview that the Egyptian passport found by the French police belongs to "the football fan named Walid Abdel-Razzak".

Abdel-Razzak, 27, arrived in Paris two weeks ago along with his mother and cancer-stricken brother in search of medical treatment, his other brother Wael said in comments to Aswat Masriya.

The attack occurred while Abdel-Razzak was queuing to buy a ticket for a soccer match at the Stade de France, one of the six sites targeted by the coordinated attacks Friday night.

"We haven't seen him until now because of his critical condition," Wael said. "He is still in the operating room."

Wael said his brother, who is being treated at a hospital in the northwestern suburb of Clichy, suffered from massive bleeding, a ruptured leg vein, and a broken shoulder and arm as a result of the suicide bombing.

Badawi also said that Abdel-Razzak's medical condition was critical and that he has undergone several surgeries.

Late Friday, seven attackers launched gun attacks at Paris cafes, detonated suicide bombs near France's national stadium and killed hostages inside the concert venue during a show by an American rock band — an attack in the heart of the City of Light.

The series of attacks left at least 129 people dead and 352 injured with 80 in critical condition.

Why the Bataclan was a target
Translation of the original French:
"We had a plan to attack against the Bataclan because the owners are Jews. " This sentence, entombed in the light of the taking of hostages and the carnage that would have done this Friday" a hundred dead", according to police sources, has been pronounced in the offices of the DCRI, in February 2011. The French services interrogators then members of "Jaish al-Islam", the Army of Islam, suspected of the attack that cost the life of a French student in Cairo in February 2009. They were planning an attack in France and had therefore taken to target the famous Hall of parisian spectacle.

Repeated Threats

In 2007 and in 2008, the Bataclan had already been under the threat of groups more or less radical. The cause: the regular holding of conferences or galas of Jewish organizations, including the "Magav ", a guard unit-borders depending on the police of Israel. In December 2008, while an operation of the Israeli army has place in the Gaza Strip, the threats around the Bataclan are more precise. On the Web, a video showing a group of a dozen or so young, the face mask by keffiehs, which threaten the officials of the Bataclan in connection with the organization of the annual gala of the Magav. At the time, the Parisian y devoted an article without that this handful of militants is truly identified. In the aftermath, this annual meeting will be postponed.

Since, each time that a Jewish organization meets at the Bataclan, many hostile comments blossom on the Web. Yet, in recent years, they seemed to have waned. Nevertheless, the Israeli press reminded us that the group of rock Eagles of Death which occurred this Friday 13 to evening had carried out a tour in Israel. The group had then had to face several calls to boycott, which had they not been prevented to occur there.

Bill Jacobson at Legal Insurrection discusses this further, and a hat tip to him for finding this article.

One of Paris attackers was known to authorities as a bad boy
Per PJ Tatler, the translation of this article suggests that at least one of the splodydopes was a "known wolf". Translation per freetranslation.com:
Paris and France are under shock in the aftermath of the attacks claimed by the group Islamic State, which have cost the lives of 129 people. The army is deployed in the country. Follow the latest developments of these attacks on our liveblog.

According to a still provisional balance sheet, 129 people have been killed, in several shootings and explosions Friday, November 13 in the evening in Paris and at the edge of the Stage in France.

The attacks have been claimed by the organization Islamic State.

According to the prosecutor of Paris, three coordinated teams have carried out the attacks to Saint Denis and Paris. One of the suicide bombers death at the Bataclan is a Frenchman who had been the subject of a form "S" for radicalization.

Francois Hollande has decreed a state of emergency on the whole of the French territory and the control of borders has been restored.

The police had called the Parisians to stay at home. All events are canceled and schools closed until Monday. An emergency number has been opened for the relatives of the victims: 08 00 40 60 05 and another, the 197 for the investigation.

#5  Bit of history of John of Austria's war of ideas, from Wiki: "During the course of the battle, the Ottoman Commander's ship was boarded and the Spanish tercios from 3 galleys and the Ottoman Janissaries from seven galleys fought on the deck of the Sultana. Twice the Spanish were repelled with heavy casualties, but at the third attempt, with reinforcements from Álvaro de Bazán's galley, they took the ship. Müezzinzade Ali Pasha was killed and beheaded, against the wishes of Don Juan [John of Austria]. However, when his severed head was displayed on a pike from the Spanish flagship, it contributed greatly to the destruction of Turkish morale. Even after the battle had clearly turned against the Turks, groups of Janissaries still kept fighting with all they had. It is said that at some point the Janissaries ran out of weapons and started throwing oranges and lemons at their Christian adversaries, leading to awkward scenes of laughter among the general misery of battle."

Soldiers participating in the operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for the past 12 days also left the town.

The Diyarbakir governor's office had declared a curfew in the Tekel, Mescit and Konak neighborhoods on Nov. 3 before an operation was launched to lift the barricades erected by the PKK turbans, re-fill the ditches dug by them and capture turbans.

The office said Nov. 14 that one gendarmerie lieutenant and two coppers were killed in attacks as one injured soldier and one policeman were still under medical treatment.

Two citizens died in the clashed as two injured people were in still hospital, the governor's office confirmed.

It said an estimated 10 PKK members were killed.

Turkish soldiers fire back, kill 4 ISIL militants on Syrian border
[Hurriyet] Four Islamic State

Anadolu Agency quoted military sources as saying that two cars carrying identified ISIL members advanced toward an armored vehicle belonging to the army near the post in Oguzeli district in the southeastern province of Gaziantep in the afternoon on Nov. 14.

Warned by soldiers to stop, the gunnies responded by shelling the army vehicle.

Turkish soldiers fired back at the cars, killing four ISIL members in one, while an unknown number of gunnies in the second car expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, sources said.

Dogan News Agency said the gunnies were killed at a point 370 meters to the Turkish border as the second car fled to the Syrian side.

U.S. Law Enforcement in 'Sanctuary Cities' D.C., N.Y. and L.A. go on high alert
[Wash Times] Deadly attacks in Paris on Friday night have prompted American law enforcement officials to take precautions in U.S. cities, although authorities say no credible threat has been detected in the United States.

The New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles police departments all reported deploying additional patrols to high-profile locations across their cities Friday night.

Scores were killed in at least seven separate but coordinated attacks that spanned the French capital and included gunfire aimed at a cafe in an area of the city known for its vibrant nightlife, the slaying of dozens of hostages inside the Bataclan nightclub, and two explosions near the Stade de France stadium north of Paris during a France-Germany soccer match.

The New York Police Department deployed critical response vehicles to sensitive locations in the city, including the French Embassy and other diplomatic posts, according to a local NBC affiliate.

Likewise the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., "deployed additional law enforcement resources to French-owned sites and other high-profile locations," D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said. A D.C. police car was seen parked outside the French Embassy in the District.

U.S. Capitol Police also reported stepping up patrols around the Capitol complex.

Federal officials cautioned that no credible threat against targets in the United States has been detected, and local agencies emphasized that their increased police presence was out of an abundance of caution.

13-year-old Christian girl forced to convert
LAHORE – Thirteen-year-old Christian girl Sana, daughter of Shahid Jaan has been forced to convert to Islam and then married to one 21-year-old Waheed Akhtar, son of Muhammad Bashir in New Miana Pura West area of Sialkot.

The incident occurred on November 09 (last Monday). An FIR was registered in Hajipura police station on the same day and an investigation is underway. Investigation officer ASI Muhammad Ashraf told The Nation on Saturday that they conducted some raids to recover the girl. “The lawyer of the accused has contacted us on phone and sent a written request as well. He has told us that they have got pre-arrest bails from the court and would join the investigation on Monday. The girl is 15 years old. She first converted to Islam and then married Waheed,” Ashraf said and added that police was very cooperative and immediately registered FIR on the complaint of Sana’s father. The Nation has copies of FIR and the Nikahnama (Marriage contract). Hafiz Muhammad Khalid was the Nikahkhawan.

Sana is a student of class V and studying in the Government Primary Girls School also in Mianapura area. Her sister Hina is also studying in the same class. They are three sisters and three brothers.

Shahid Jaan said he was a labourer and came to know of the incident when he came home in the evening. “I was shocked to hear the news. My legs were trembling when I heard what had happened. Hina was accompanying Sana on her way back from school. Waheed Akhtar forcibly took her away. Hina came back to home and informed the family. We went to Waheed Akhtar’s house, which is also in the vicinity. Waheed and his father are butchers by profession. They kept saying that Waheed will be back soon but when he did not turn up I went to police station and registered my complaint,” he said.

On a query about Sana’s age Shahid said she was not an adult. “She was born on April 17, 2002, which means that she cannot get married of her own free will. The age can be confirmed from NADRA as well as school record. We hope we will get justice as this is a barbaric act and should be condemned by everyone. I trust my daughter and believe that she was forced to convert,” he said.

The girl’s grandfather William John was very disturbed. “This incident has the whole house disturbed. Think of how the other children are coping with this situation. It is bad that I am alive to witness this day. It should not have happened,” he said.

Many such incidents have been reported in the past. The government needs to develop a mechanism to stop such incidents in future.

Peshmerga teams clear Shingal roads of explosives, danger still remains
[Rudaw] Special Peshmerga bomb disposal teams in Shingal said Saturday that all roads and major streets leading and out of the town are clear of explosives, but warned civilians about entering any homes.

A bomb disposal expert told Rudaw that the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) bully boyz had planted multiple types of bombs and explosives in Shingal.

"Some of the bombs were placed inside barrels, some inside water tanks and other inside oil jerrycans," he said.

Some of the bombs are packed with nails and spikes, said the Peshmerga bomb disposal engineer.

The expert team arrived in Shingal at the same time as Kurdish ground troops recaptured the town from the ISIS bully boyz in an offensive that lasted just two days.

The Yezidi residents of Shingal may start to return to their homes soon, but the bomb experts caution them about entering their homes in haste, arguing that it might take a while to clear all explosives.

"Cleaning Shingal from mines is not an easy task because it is a big town," said one bomb disposal engineer.

[Rudaw] Amid recent tensions between Kurdish forces and Shiite militia in Tuz Khurmatu, locals reported Saturday that the forces of Evil had torched peoples homes and shops in several parts of the town.

"Over the past two days, several Kurdish people's homes and shops have been burned down by the Hashd al-Shaabi in Tuz Khurmatu neighborhoods, including Askari, Ten, and downtown Khurmatu," an eyewitness who didn't want to be named, told Rudaw.

Kurdish Peshmerga and security forces in Khurmatu, 80 KM south of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
clashed with the Shiite militia known as Hashd al-Shaabi last week where several people were killed on both sides and many injured.

Rudaw has learned that Peshmerga and Shiite militia representatives in the area, including the mayor of Khurmatu, are holding talks to prevent further escalation of violence.

Fighting broke out on Friday when a militia convoy allegedly refused to stop at a checkpoint manned by Kurdish forces, resulting in a firefight that left three Peshmerga and two forces of Evil dead.

A Rudaw correspondent in the area said that the Peshmerga stopped reinforcements of the Dijla Operation command of Abdul Amir Zaidi from entering the town.

"The situation of Tuz Khurmatu is calm now, and a siege on Tuz Khurmatu security [Asayish] building by the Hashd al-Shaabi has been lifted," said Rudaw's Hiwa Husamadin.

called on Kurdish President Masoud Barzani, Iraqi president Fuad Masum and militia leader Hadi al-Amiri to work towards ending the conflict between the Peshmerga and Hashd al-Shaabi.

IDF demolishes homes of four terrorists involved in recent killings
[Jpost] Four homes destroyed in total, one in a village near Ramallah and three in Nablus.

The IDF Engineering Corps demolished the homes of four Lions of Islam early on Saturday morning who were responsible for the killing of Israelis during the current terror wave. The Lions of Islam whose homes were destroyed were responsible for Malachi Rosenfeld's murder in June and for the killing of Naama and Eitam Henkin in October.

Malachi Rosenfeld, 27, from Kochav Hashahar, was one of four men shot at close range by gunnies in a passing car near Shvut Rahel, some 45 km. north of Jerusalem. More than a dozen bullets were fired into the vehicle, killing Rosenfeld and wounding three of his friends.

Maad Hamed's home in Kfar Silwad north-east of Jerusalem was destroyed for his involvement in the attack that killed Rosenfeld.

Three other homes in Nablus were destroyed that belonged to the killers of the Henkin couple, were destroyed.

Naama and Eitam Henkin were killed when Lions of Islam shot them in their car near Nablus last month between the Elon Moreh and Itamar settlements. Their four young children survived without injury in the bullet-riddled vehicle.

The homes belonged to Muhammad Naif Abdallah, Samir Zahir, Ibrahim Kusa, and Karem Lutfi Fathi Razek.

On Thursday, the High Court of Justice approved the demolition of five terrorists' houses and rejected one demolition. The battle over the six house demolition orders, which the NGO Hamoked -- Center for the Defense of the Individual petitioned against on behalf of the families and their neighbors, has raged since the High Court froze the orders on October 22. The country's political echelon applied significant pressure on the court to approve the demolitions.

4 Israelis wounded, 1 Palestinian killed in West Bank vehicular attack
[Ynet] Police initially report a car accident but finally rule it as an attack due to Paleostinian's vehicular suspicious movements at Psagot settlement's entrance.

Four Israelis were maimed and a Paleostinian was killed Saturday night in a collision between two vehicles near the Psagot settlement in the West Bank in a vehicular attack.

Security forces were not sure at first that it was a terrorist attack believing it to have been a car accident. However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
following the suspicious movement of the Paleostinian's vehicle at the entrance to Psagot, West Bank district police determined that it was in fact a vehicular attack.

Three Israelis were lightly maimed and one moderately maimed in the attack. The incident was transferred to the IDF and Shin Bet for investigation.

Yisrael Ganz, deputy head of the Binyamin Regional Council and a resident of Psagot, said tonight that "the vigilance of the guards at the entrance gate most likely prevented a much more serious attack. A Paleostinian terrorist armed with giant knife tried to enter the settlement with a car with yellow (Israeli) license plates. Following the inspection of the settlement's guard he turned to the settlement's access road and intentionally hit the car of a resident of Psagot head on. We have been the victim of terrorist attacks on a dialy basis for weeks now, in the form of stones and Molotov cocktails. We call for a restoration of deterrence and protection of Psagot immediately."

Lebanon arrests 5 Syrians, 1 Palestinian suspect in Beirut bombings
[AlArabiya] Lebanese authorities arrested five Syrians and a Palestinian suspected of being implicated in the twin suicide bombings in central Beirut on Thursday that killed 43 people, a senior security source said on Saturday.

The bombings in a busy residential and commercial area that is a stronghold for Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah were claimed by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

“Within 24 hours the network was arrested in the fastest uncovering of a bombing incident in the country,” the source said.

The explosions were the first attacks in more than a year to target a Hezbollah stronghold in Lebanon, as the Iran-backed group steps up its involvement in the war in neighbouring Syria.

ISIS leader dies in airstrike near Palmyra
[ARA News] ERBIL – Leader of the military operations of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria’s Palmyra has been killed in an airstrike by the Syrian air force near al-Shaer oilfield in Palmyra suburb in the Syrian central province of Homs, local sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News in Palmyra, a civil rights activist confirmed the death of the ISIS senior leader Hajj Hassan Salafi (aka Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Shami) earlier this week in a Syrian airstrike in ad-Duwwa district near al-Shaer oilfield.

“ISIS militants in Palmyra paid farewell to their commander Hajj Hassan Salafi on Wednesday after an airstrike by the Syrian air force,” he said.

He has been recently promoted by the radical group as leader of Palmyra operations,” the source said on the condition of anonymity.

“Salafi’s death is considered a heavy loss for ISIS, as he was one of the most committed leading members of the group in central Syria, especially that ISIS suffers internal rifts at the moment,” the source added.

ISIS troops re-enter Tel Abyad
[ARA News] URFA – A number of gunmen from the extremist group of Islamic State (ISIS) were able to infiltrate into the suburb of the Kurdish-held Tel Abyad city in northern Raqqa province, a military source reported on Saturday.

Speaking to ARA News in Tel Abyad, a spokesman for the Kurdish forces of the YPG said that some 30 ISIS militants have infiltrated Saturday afternoon into the eastern suburb of the city, clashing with the Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG).

“The clashes continued until Saturday midnight. The terrorists were finally forced to withdraw towards ISIS bases in Raqqa city,” the source added.

“The terrorists have entered the area from the Turkish territory near the town of Akçakale (a district of Şanlıurfa province), reaching Tel Abyad’s eastern suburb. They have headed to Raqqa city after clashes with the Kurdish fighters,” the source told ARA News.

“Local ISIS sleeper cells in Tel Abyad have apparently helped this group of terrorists to infiltrate into the area,” he added.

ISIS-linked media activists circulated on Twitter the news of the ISIS infiltration into Tel Abyad, saying the militants were searching for what they described “atheists”.

Speaking to ARA News in Raqqa, media activist and director of the campaign ‘Raqqa Slaughtered Silently’, Abu Ibrahim ar-Raqqawi, confirmed that a number of ISIS insurgents infiltrated Saturday into the eastern outskirts of Tel Abyad and were engaged in heavy clashes with the Kurdish YPG forces near the border gate with Turkey.

“Subsequent to the clashes, a state of alert hit the ranks of the Kurdish forces across the city, coupled with deployment of the Turkish army troops on the border crossing near Tel Abyad,” the source added.

Kurdish YPG forces and allied Syrian rebels recaptured Tel Abyad city and its countryside last June, after fierce battles with ISIS extremists.

The YPG leadership last week reported several rocket attacks by Turkish troops on the Kurdish positions in Tel Abyad.

13 die as Syrian rebels attack near Aleppo
[ARA News] ALEPPO – Syrian rebels on Saturday launched an offensive on the forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad in the southern countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria, in a bid to repel the latter’s progress, military sources reported.

Rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and allied Islamist factions gained control of several villages and thwarted the regime’s advance in the southern countryside of Aleppo.

At least 13 pro-Assad troops were killed in the offensive.

Speaking to ARA News in Aleppo, rebel spokesman Mustafa Suleiman said that several rebel factions, including al-Sham Rebels Front, al-Sham Corps, Operation Chamber of Fatih Halab, Ahrar al-Sham Movement and al-Nusra Front launched a fierce offensive on the Syrian army forces south of Aleppo.

“The rebels seized control of the villages of Barna and Barqum, among others, killing 13 soldiers of the regime’s army.

Pro-Assad army was supported by Shiite militants of Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi Najbaa group in Saturday’s operation.

“We have taken three militants of Hezbollah and four fighters of the Iraqi Shiite Najbaa group as hostages in the operation,” Suleiman told ARA News, pointing out that clashes continued between rebel forces and pro-Assad troops until Saturday evening in the vicinity of al-Ais and al-Hader towns south of Aleppo.

“We are close to recapture al-Hader town from Assad’s thugs,” he added.

Over the past two weeks, pro-regime forces, backed by a Russian air cover, were able to gain control of several strategic locations and hills in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
