Police Release Video Of Waco Biker Bar Shootout that left 9 Harleys riderless
[Daily Caller] Police released the intense surveillance video of the biker bar shootout in Waco, Texas that left nine people dead and resulted in 177 people arrested.

People in the video obtained by CNN can be seen diving out of the way as the bullets start flying, while others draw their own weapons and return fire. One gang member, however, is clearly shown spraying bullets from the patio of the bar.

The carnage was a result of three rival biker gangs meeting up at Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill on May 17, 2015. Shots erupted as tensions escalated from a fight. When the smoke cleared and the carnage was over there were nine people dead, 18 in the hospital with serious injuries, and 177 biker gang member arrested.

4 TTP militants die in US drone hit in Nangarhar province
PESHAWAR: At least four suspected militants, belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were killed on Thursday in a US drone strike in Lal Pora area of Nangarhar province in Afghanistan, bordering Pakistan’s Khyber Agency.

The drone targeted a hide out of the militants and killed four while injuring two, according to security officials.

Security sources added that the militants killed and injured belonged to TTP.

It is pertinent to mention that this is the second drone strike within a period of 24 hours in the same area.

Read: Three 'IS militants' killed in US drone strike in Afghanistan

Earlier today, US drone strikes in Nazyan district of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province killed at least three suspected militants, belonging to the self-styled Islamic State militant group.

Security sources said the the drone targeted a militant compound in the Nazyan district, killing three suspected militants and injuring five others. The sources added that the compound was completely destroyed in the strike.

Till 2014, Nazyan district had been serving as a safe haven for the Mullah Fazllullah led Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to security officials, militants based in the Nazyan district had planned the devastating attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, which left over 140 children and teachers dead and scores injured.

Pakistani security forces also carried out ground offensives in Khyber Agency, particularly the Tirah Valley of Bara which borders Nazyan.

The forces cleared much of the Bara plain in Operation Khyber One launched in October 2014 while in a follow-on operation named Khyber-2 cleared the fierce Tirah terrain consisting of deep valleys and high mountains.

Afghan police commander charged in triple murder
A family in northern Balkh province claimed on Thursday that an Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander has killed three members of their family.

The incident happened in Chamtal district when the ALP commander along with his two guards allegedly opened fire on a family, leaving four others including two girls wounded. The injured, who are receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital, called on the government to bring the perpetrators to justice.

"When the firing ended, my cousin ran and saw her brother was killed," one of the injured said. "Before we got there, my cousin's father had reached there and he was also killed."

Meanwhile, the Police Chief of Balkh, Gen. Sayed Kamal Sadat, said a task-team has been assigned to probe into the case whether they were killed by the ALP commander or as a result of their personal enmity.

Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the murder, he added. He however promised to ensure justice to the family.

Talibunnies driven back in Kunduz
Dozens of residents in Dasht-e-Archi district in Kunduz have raised weapons and have joined the security forces to drive the Taliban insurgents out of the embattled province.

TOLO News correspondent Tariq Majidi, who is embedded with the security forces and armed local residents, reports that scores of Taliban fighters have been surrounded by the forces in west of the district.

According to him, the insurgents are launching attacks on the security forces from the civilian homes – which the militants are using as shields.

In addition, the local residents are providing a key support in repelling the insurgents, he reported.

"I and my four sons have raised weapons to defend our soil," a resident of Dasht-e-Archi told TOLOnews. "I sold out my cattle to buy weapons."

The security officials meanwhile said that the Taliban have lost their strength in Kunduz and they are unable to confront the troops.

"Our operation is going on successfully. We have caused the enemy too much disaster," an Afghan National Army (ANA) commander said. "We are committed to clearing the area from enemies."

This comes after the security forces retook control of Police Headquarters in Dasht-e-Archi after two years on Tuesday.

This year Kunduz suffered long fighting followed by killing of civilians and destruction of their homes and properties.

The city fell to the Taliban last month after hundreds of insurgents stormed the city and took the control for three days before they were killed and driven out of the city by the security forces.

Shaboobs, simple heavily armed pastoralists clash in Hiran
JALALAQSI, Somalia -- Al Shabaab militants and Nomads have clashed in deadly battle in Afad area in central Somalia region of Hiran on Thursday, officials said. Mohamed Abdulle Fidow, Jalalaqsi District Commissioner told VOA Somali Service that four Al Shabaab militants were killed in the fighting over Zakat collections.

Militants adopted monthly Zakat that obliges every nomadic family with 10 heads of livestock to give away at least one, while those rearing as many as 20 are needed to contribute three in alms.
To be donated to the Widows Ammunition Fund. Basically they're acting like progressives...
The battle flared up after pastoralists refused to comply with Al Shabaab order.

Afad is located 33km off Hiran regional district of Jalalaqsi.
Wherever the heck that is...
Jalalaqsi is a town in the south-central Hiran province of Somalia. It is situated on the Shebelle River, between Buuloburde and Jowhar.

Six security members injured in North Sinai blast
[AlAhram] Six security personnel were maimed in an kaboom targeting an armoured security vehicle in Egypt's North Sinai city of El-Arish, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

A security source told MENA that the kaboom was caused by a bomb planted to specifically target security forces in the city.

The kaboom injured one policeman and five military members, all of whom were rushed to the nearest hospital.

Last week, the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson announced that the army had gained full control over the North Sinai areas of El-Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuwaid after successful raids on "terrorist strongholds" and weapons caches.

On 7 October, Egypt's Armed Forces announced the commencement of the second stage of Martyr's Right, its most recent North Sinai operation against Islamist Lion of Islams.

Hundreds of police and army members have been killed in terrorist attacks in the past year-and-a-half in North Sinai, while authorities say security operations have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of bandidos Death Eaters in the governorate.

The Islamist group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis has grabbed credit for most of the attacks against security forces in North Sinai.

ISIS Bad Guys kidnap 2 near Derna
ISIS gunmen kidnapped two citizens from the town of Om Al Razem near the agricultural Fattaih Heights, which is controlled by the extremist organization.

The head of Om Al Razem's Security Directorate Maeri Jirbril tells Alwasat that the families of Fadallah Saad Al Obedi and Fathi Abdel Azim Al Obedi received a call from kidnappers who claimed they were a part of ISIS and wanted to negotiate to release the abductees. The families later added that they lost contact with them 4 days ago and no additional information has been received since.

The kidnapped had been on fishing trip in Hamsa area, which lies about 10 kilometers away from Fattaih.

ISIS positions in Sirte hammered by warbirds
Prolly Pommie aircraft
Might have been the Ruritanians...
France, maybe. They have no problem quietly involving themselves when they believe it necessary. Though I believe they prefer dealing with old bits of their empire.
Mystery still surrounds the second apparent airstrike this month on IS terrorist positions in Sirte.

Reuters reported a local source as saying that warplanes had struck shortly after midnight. A social media photograph that appears to have been taken around dawn today, shows a large pall of smoke rising from an unidentifiable position in the distance.

Communications with the town have become much more difficult since the IS took control of the mobile phone masts.

The terrorists have rarely been slow in coming forward with news about assaults on their territory. In the last 48 hours however IS media have been taken up with eulogising a slain fighter Mansur al Shalali (aka “Harun”) .

Meanwhile neither the Libyan Airforce nor Libya Dawn militias has produced any claims for this early morning raid. The inevitable speculation will be that the warplanes were not Libyan.

Libyan imam killed on bomb blast
Tripoli -- An Ajdabiya imam was murdered when a car bomb exploded beneath his vehicle in a busy central street.

Sheikh Suleiman Kabylie, a Salafist teacher at the Tawhid mosque had been an outspoken critic of IS, both preaching against the terrorists and denouncing them on his social media page.

He was killed immediately in the blast when his vehicle was in the town’s Benghazi Street yesterday evening. An IS web site later claimed responsibility.

Kabyle’s death comes just ten days after the failed assassination of another Salafist iman in the town, in a similar car bomb attack. Sheikh Mohammed Bodiam escaped serious injury but his nephew was killed.

The following day terrorists slew the local army intelligence chief Colonel Ataya Al-Arabi in a hail of gunfire after he had driven up to his home.

KSA-led coalition airdrops arms for Yemen loyalists
ADEN: The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen has dropped arms and ammunition to pro-government fighters in Taiz, the central city besieged by Shiite Houthi rebels, military sources said Wednesday.

Coalition planes “parachuted three shipments of arms and ammunition to help our fighters in southwest Taiz,” a source told AFP, adding they included RPG launchers and a variety of weapons.

The airdrop took place before dawn on Tuesday and Wednesday, he said. Clashes raged Wednesday in Taiz between the rebels and fighters allied with President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, another military source said.

Meanwhile, security officials and witnesses in Aden say militants have bombed a local college, following previous threats against the school.

The officials said militants on a motorcycle tossed a bomb Wednesday onto the sprawling campus of the University of Aden. It shattered windows at the College of Commerce and Economics. Terrified students ran for safety. There was no immediate word on casualties or a claim of responsibility.

A university official said militants had vowed to attack the school if it did not gender-segregate classes. Officials and witnesses spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to brief reporters or fear reprisals.

Houthis abandon dead in Marib
Al Mukalla: Al Houthis and their allied forces have been criticised for leaving the bodies of dozens of their fighters to decay after suffering heavy military losses in battles with government forces in the province of Marib.

Some of the fighters were killed in areas surrounded by landmines, which made it difficult for the Red Crescent to retrieve them.

Hassan Al Shabwani, the head of the provincial office of the Yemeni Red Crescent, told Gulf News on Monday that his colleagues have removed decomposing bodies of 41 Al Houthi fighters who were killed in months of fierce clashes in the province, adding that they are unable to reach dozens of others because of landmines.

“We retrieved bodies from around Marib dam, Tabbat Al Masaria and Al Ashraf. Today we removed nine bodies,” Al Shabwani said that the retrieved bodies were handed to Al Houthis to bury them. “We did not find any body of dead fighters loyal to the government forces.”

The lawless province of Marib is among few provinces in the troubled country that fought off Al Houthis quick advance across the country after their seizure of power in September last year. The Saudi-led coalition has recently dispatched hundreds of troops and sophisticated weapons to the provinces ahead of a looming military operation to recapture neighbouring provinces from Al Houthis and the forces of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh. Forces loyal to president Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi are in controlling of most of the country including the strategic port city of Aden.

In the northern province of Dhamar, residents said that Al Houthis pulled out of the district of Outma and handed security to local people. Abdul Rahman Maoudha, an MP and the head of Dhamar resistance, told Al Masder Online news site that local people are now in charge of government offices, adding that Al Houthis left the area after successful tribal mediation in which Al Houthis agreed to pull out exchange for releasing their incarcerated fighters with the resistance.

Maoudha said that 16 resistance fighters were killed and 51 more injured in recent clashes with Al Houthis. Al Houthis did not face any considerable resistance when they controlled the province of Dhamar in October last year. Promoted by massive air strikes on Al Houthis positions in the province, local fighters got together and launched sporadic attacks on the militia.

In the south, at least 100 police officers have finished a monthlong training programme in the province of Shabwa. The officers would be deployed in Attaq, the province’s capital, local officials said on Monday. Mohsen Al Gomesh, a spokesperson for the governor of Shabwa, told Gulf News on Monday that the soldiers are the first group of 500 soldiers who are being trained to take charge of security issues of in the province.

“There are also 1500 army soldiers receive security training by local military officers. Those soldiers will be responsible for protecting the province.” The oil rich province was embroiled into the civil war in April when local army regiments switched sides and backed Al Houthis.

of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Lions of Islam in simultaneous raids in Istanbul on Oct. 29, in an escalation of anti-terror operations against ISIL following the twin suicide kabooms in Ankara earlier this month.

Counterterrorism police launched operations at 28 addresses against ISIL cells in Istanbul's Bagcilar and Basaksehir districts on Oct. 29.

Special operations teams and riot police also took part in the helicopter-supported operation.

Some 15 ISIL Lions of Islam were detained in the raids, while five automatic rifles, an air gun and 300 cell phones were seized.

After undergoing a medical examination at the Haseki Training and Research Hospital in the Aksaray neighborhood, the Lions of Islam were brought to the anti-terror branch office at the central Vatan Avenue to be interrogated by police.

Meanwhile,

Turkish police stepped up operations against ISIL after two jacket wallahs suspected to be linked to ISIL detonated themselves at a peace rally in Ankara on Oct. 10, killing 102 people including the two bombers.

The Ankara Prosecutor's Office released a written statement on Oct. 28 saying ISIL was behind the Ankara blasts.

Turkish police raid media group linked to Gulen
More on this story from yesterday.
ISTANBUL: Turkish police forced their way into the offices of an opposition media company on Wednesday, days before an election, in a crackdown on companies linked to a US-based cleric.

Police fired pepper spray as they pushed their way through the front gates and used water cannon to disperse around 500 people who gathered in front of the offices of Kanalturk and Bugun TV in Istanbul to protest against the police action.

Erdogan hopes Sunday’s election will restore the overall majority lost in a June vote by the AK Party he founded. Polls, however, indicate it is unlikely it will secure such a victory, let alone the large majority needed to change the constitution and endow the presidency with the broad powers Erdogan seeks.

The media groups raided are owned by Koza Ipek Holding, which has links to Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen. The authorities on Tuesday took over 22 firms owned by Koza Ipek in an investigation of alleged financial irregularities, including suspicions it has funded Gulen, whom Erdogan terms a terrorist.

The company denies wrongdoing.

“This is a coup against opposition, against the media, against our existing constitution and against freedom of enterprise,” Abdulhamit Bilici, editor-in-chief of the Gulen-affiliated Zaman newspaper, told Reuters TV.

“Coups don’t happen only by tanks or by generals. Now we are witnessing a different coup under a civilian umbrella. This will not be acceptable for the Turkish people and this will not be acceptable for the international friends of Turkey.”

Last UK Detainee at Guantanamo Is Released
[ABC] A Saudi who emerged as a defiant leader among prisoners during nearly 14 years of confinement on the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba has been released to join his family in Britain.

The release of Shaker Aamer comes after a publicity campaign and at the request of Prime Minister David Cameron, who had urged President Barack Obama to resolve the case of the last prisoner at Guantanamo with significant ties to Britain.

"He needs, first, to be in a hospital, and then to be with his family," said Clive Stafford Smith, one of his lawyers.

His release, the 15th from Guantanamo this year, brings the detainee population there to 112, and comes as part of a renewed push by Obama to close the facility opened by his predecessor after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

Aamer, 48, had told his lawyers that he would seek a medical examination in Britain because of concerns about his health stemming in part from repeated hunger strikes while at Guantanamo.

He has received more media attention over the years than any other prisoners except the five who face trial by military commission for their alleged roles planning and providing support to 9/11 attacks.

Aamer was born in Saudi Arabia and remains a citizen, but wanted to return to London where he has four children, including a son he has never seen and a wife, who is the daughter of a prominent retired imam. Aamer worked as a translator for a law firm in London from 1994 to 2001.

He has said that he went to Afghanistan to help run a school for girls, and fled during the chaos following the U.S. invasion. He was captured by the Northern Alliance and turned over to the U.S. for a bounty. He was taken to Guantanamo in February 2002.

The U.S. Defense Department has disclosed that he was accused of significant links to terrorism. They said he shared an apartment in the late 1990s with Zacarias Moussaoui, who was convicted of taking part in the Sept. 11 conspiracy; had met with Richard Reid, who tried to blow up a U.S. passenger jet with explosives in his shoes; had undergone al-Qaida training in the use of explosives and missiles, and received a stipend from Osama bin Laden.

Those allegations and more were later found in a November 2007 detainee assessment obtained and published by Wikileaks that described him as a member of al-Qaida and a "close associate" of bin Laden.

India-Pakistan
3 Bad Guys die in Karachi
KARACHI: Police on Thursday claimed to have killed at least three suspected terrorists in an alleged encounter in Mominabad area of Karachi.

According to SSP Karachi-West Azfar Mahesar, the encounter took place in Rahim Shah Colony of Mominabad where a police party was conducting a search operation.

A least four 'terrorists' opened fire on the police party while police responded with retaliatory firing killing three attackers in the ensuing ‘encounter’. One attacker managed to escape from the site.

Those killed were identified as Umer Ghaffar, Sher Dil Khan and Raheel Abu Bakr, all said to be members of a banned outfit. A huge cache of weaponry and explosive material was recovered from the custody of suspects.

The suspects are reportedly involved in a number of criminal activities, including the recent killings of policemen, extortion and robberies.

Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Mushtaq Maher and Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali appreciated the efforts of Karachi police while the home minister announced cash reward for the Karachi-West police team that took part in the encounter.

Earlier this month, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal while speaking to media in Karachi Press Club had said that the provincial government was not considering winding up the Karachi operation and the offensive will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist.

He added that the impression police's role in the city had been restricted to a mere backup force is wrong.

The ‘operation’ against criminal elements in Pakistan’s commercial hub was initiated back in September 2013 after the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police against criminals already identified by federal military and civilian agencies for their alleged involvement in targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism in Karachi.

Cleric dodges bullet 2nd time in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: The khateeb of an imambargah and his security guard were shot and injured in the Sadiqabad locality of the city on Thursday.

This was the second targeted attack on Maulana Nazeer Hussain Imrani, 51, the khateeb of Imambargah Qasr-i-Sajjad, in which he sustained injuries.

On January 8, 2014, he also escaped an attack by unidentified gunmen while going to a private school, where he also teaches.

Mr Imrani in his statement recorded with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) said he was going to the school on a motorcycle on Thursday when two motorcycle riders attacked him close to the entrance of the school.

Mr Imrani’s security guard, Mohammad Bilal, who was not carrying a weapon, ran to save himself from the attackers. However, one of the gunmen chased and shot him.

Upon hearing the gunshots, people from the nearby areas reached the spot and took the injured to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where they were stated to be out of danger. The CTD registered a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act and started an investigation.

Protests erupt after militant dies
SRINAGAR: Protests erupted in India-held Kashmir on Thursday after police said a top militant leader had been killed in a gunbattle.

The slain militant, Abu Qasim, was operations chief of the Lashkar-e-Taiba group, said police Director-General K. Rajendra Kumar. There was no independent confirmation or comments from militants fighting against Indian rule in the disputed region.

But as the news spread, hundreds of people tried to march to what was described as the site of the gunbattle. They threw rocks at government forces and set up roadblocks. Security personnel responded with tear gas.

Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani, another top police officer, said security personnel launched an operation on Wednesday night in Kulgam after getting a tip that Abu Qasim was in the area.

The militant leader was killed as he tried to break the cordon and flee the region early on Thursday, he said.
An Nahar adds:
Abdul Rehman, known as Abu Qasim, was killed during a shootout with security forces overnight outside Kulgam town, 89 kilometres (55 miles) south of the main city of Srinagar, Inspector General Javid Gillani said.

"We laid a cordon yesterday and he was shot and killed when he tried to break through," Gillani told Agence La Belle France Presse.

"This is a major setback for the LeT and its operations," he said.

Originally from the Pak city of Bahawalpur, Qasim had been operating in Indian Kashmire against security forces for the last five years, and was responsible for several major attacks, police said. Qasim was also key coordinator between the LeT and other myrmidon groups fighting hundreds of thousands of security forces deployed in the disputed region, police said.

Gillani said police and the army launched an operation on Wednesday after receiving information on Qasim's location, and was killed during the shootout at about 2am.

"He hurled a few grenades and also opened fire which we retaliated against," Gillani told the NDTV network.

India blames a group of LeT murderous Moslems from Pakistain with carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attacks that left 166 people dead.

7 die in landmine blast in Quetta
QUETTA: At least seven people, including the tribal elder Mir Gul Khan Marri, were killed in a roadside blast when their vehicle hit a landmine in Marwar area of Quetta district, DawnNews reported on Thursday.

Levis sources said that the convoy of Gul Khan Marri accidentally hit a landmine in the suburb area of the provincial capital.

The vehicle was badly damaged due to the intensity of the blast, killing the tribal elder and his aides and guards.

The bodies of the seven were taken to a hospital morgue.

Security officials who arrived at the blast site confirmed that the explosion was due by a landmine blast.

Levis sources further said that “three people were also injured in the blast who have been shifted to hospital”.

Police, Levies and Balochistan Constabulary officials reached the blast site and cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.

The security in the city has also been beefed up following the incident.

Baluchistan has long been the scene of a low-level insurgency by Baloch separatist groups.

Rival tribal groups also often target each other's men over lingering feuds.

30 BLA militants surrender
QUETTA: Two commanders of the proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) along with 28 militants surrendered to authorities in Balochistan on Thursday.

The militants laid down their weapons in a press conference held by provincial minister Nawab Changaiz Marri.

“We appreciate that the militants have surrendered and have announced their decision to join peaceful lives,” said Marri on the occasion.

The militants who surrendered today were involved in attacks against civilians and security forces, according to a security official.

The government also announced amnesty for the militants adopting peaceful lives and they will be integrated in Balochistan.

Pakistan's largest province — which borders Iran and Afghanistan — is riven by sectarian strife and Islamist violence.

Its roughly seven million inhabitants have long complained they do not receive a fair share of its gas and mineral wealth.

Baloch separatists demanding more autonomy and control over gas and mineral resources have frequently targeted security forces and police for years.

Iraq
Iranian dissidents rocketed at Camp Liberty, 23 no longer dissident
[PanARMENIAN.Net] - A former military base in Iraq housing exiled Iranian opposition members has come under intense rocket fire, Iraqi and Iranian officials say, according to BBC News.

The People's Mujahedin of Iran says 23 of its members were killed in the attack in addition to three policemen. About 80 missiles struck the former U.S. base known as Camp Liberty, close to Baghdad airport, according to the PMOI. No group has yet said it carried out the attack.
There really is no need for further inquiry.
The People's Mujahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) has been in exile since the Islamic revolution of 1979. The PMOI sided with Saddam Hussein during Iran's war with Iraq in the 1980s but fell out with Baghdad after the Iraqi leader was overthrown by a U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

The remaining Iranian dissidents, who advocate the removal of Iran's clerical leaders, were moved to Camp Liberty in 2012. The Camp Liberty base came under rocket fire in December 2013 and in February 2013.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed in a statement that residents of the camp were killed and injured, but he did not specify how many. He said the U.S. government was talking to senior Iraqi officials to ensure that "all possible medical and emergency assistance" is provided to the victims.

ISIS claims to behead 4 Peshmerga at site of US-Kurdish raid
Their lives were unfortunately forfeit the day ISIS captured them. But perhaps others will be recued in the future, and at even greater cost to ISIS.
[Rudaw] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
gunnies beheaded four Peshmerga soldiers at the site of the US-Kurdish raid near Hawija in Kirkuk province on October 22, the pro-ISIS Aamaq news blog reported on Thursday.

"Islamic State gunnies have killed four Peshmerga members by beheading at the site of the US Special Forces operation in cooperation with the Kurdistan government in Hawija one week ago," Aamaq quoted an anonymous ISIS leader as saying.

The anonymous ISIS source has reportedly told Aamaq that there are other Peshmerga in ISIS hands, but the news blog did not mention what ISIS wants to do with them.

The news blog has not provided any pictures or videos to prove the claim.

As many as 60 US Special Forces personnel and Peshmerga counterterrorism forces participated in a raid on an ISIS prison compound near Hawija on October 22. According to the Kurdistan National Security Council, one American soldier was killed during the operation and three Peshmerga were maimed. The operation freed 69 hostages held by ISIS, all Sunni Arabs.

"You were lucky to be rescued, but unfortunately there were none of the Peshmerga left who were there before," Masoud Barzani, President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, said in a meeting with the freed hostages.

Khurmatu Kurds and Sunnis: Shiites plant evidence in bomb arrests
[Rudaw] Iraqi Shiite militia forces have detained 175 people in just three days in Khurmatu south of Kirkuk. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
these Shiite forces, also called Hashd al-Shaabi, have planted explosives to blame them on Sunnis in those areas, Kurdish and Sunni security forces allege.

There are some Kurdish residents among the 175 detainees. Some 134 of them have recently been released, but the fate of the other 41 is still unknown. Authorities in Khurmatu have asked Shiite holy mans to play their role in normalizing the situation inside the city.

The Shiite militias on the other hand claim they are protectors of the city, denying reports of kidnapping and killing residents. They blame ISIS for the kabooms.

Many Iraqi Mobilization Forces have been spread across the city, while Kurdish forces are on alert outside Khurmatu, insisting they are not looking for military confrontation with the Shiites.

2 Israeli women hurt in separate stone-throwing attacks
[IsraelTimes] Security forces come under fire, are targeted by stones and Molotov cocktails in Jerusalem and West Bank; no injuries

Two Israeli women were maimed Thursday night in separate stone-throwing attacks on their cars.

A woman was lightly hurt when stones were thrown at her car on Route 60, near the Karmei Tzur settlement, north of the West Bank city of Hebron. The woman, who is pregnant and was cut by glass shards, was taken by Magen David Adom rescue personnel to Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem.

Hours earlier, a woman in her 60s was lightly maimed in a stone-throwing attack on her car on Route 431, close to the central town of Ramle.

Magen David Adom paramedics administered first aid treatment at the scene before evacuating the woman to Assaf Harofeh hospital near Rishon Letzion, the Maariv website reported. She sustained wounds to her face from the stones and from shattered glass.

The woman was travelling with her 8-month-old grandson at the time. The child was unhurt in the incident.

Shots were fired from a vehicle Thursday evening at IDF soldiers standing at a hitchhiking post close to the settlement of Ofra in the northern West Bank. There were no injuries.

The car from which the shots were fired expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, the Maariv website said, adding that security forces were searching for the vehicle.

Also Thursday evening, a pipe bomb was hurled at a Border Police position in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of A-Tur, and two bombs were thrown at a Border Police force near the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

No injuries were reported in either incident, the Walla news website said.

An bomb was also hurled at an IDF post near the Jewish cemetery in the West Bank city of Hebron. Near the Judea Regional Brigade, Paleostinians threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli vehicle, Israel Radio reported.

Paleostinians also hurled stones at vehicles both south and north of the Etzion settlement bloc.

Two Palestinians shot dead, Israeli soldier wounded in knife attack
New knife attacks on Israelis in the West Bank left a soldier lightly injured on Thursday, while two Palestinians were shot dead by security forces, police and the army said.
Knife, gun fight, you know the line...
In one incident a Palestinian stabbed and lightly wounded an Israeli border guard near a shrine known to Jews as the Cave of the Patriarchs and to Muslims as the Ibrahimi Mosque, in the volatile city of Hebron.

"A Palestinian attacked and stabbed a soldier. Security forces responded and shot the attacker. The soldier sustained light injuries," the army said.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirmed that the attacker, aged 24, had died.
That's generally what happens when you stab a soldier...
In the second incident a Palestinian allegedly tried to stab an Israeli soldier in Hebron, where several knife attacks have taken place in recent days.

"Moments ago forces thwarted the second attempted stabbing today in Hebron. The Palestinian assailant attempted to stab an IDF soldier at a security post," read an army statement.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the attacker had been shot dead.
Good. One less stabber to worry about...
Both incidents were followed by clashes between young Palestinians and Israeli security forces.

A wave of such knife attacks and shootings has left nine Israelis dead since early October. The death of the attackers takes the number of Palestinians killed in the recent unrest to 62. One Israeli Arab attacker has also been shot dead.

Powerful Abu Sayyaf bomb defused
[Gulf Today] The Philippine military averted a major disaster by defusing a powerful improvised bomb planted by suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf on the island province of Basilan.

Senior Inspector Gean Gallardo said the bomb was planted along a busy but dimly-lit major road in Lamitan City on Monday night. He said explosives experts succeeded in defusing the bomb before it could be detonated. The bomb was fashioned out from a milk can filled with nails, wires and ammonium nitrate fuel oil.

Authorities believe the aborted bombing was in retaliation for the killing of three Abu Sayyaf militants in an clash with elite rangers in the town of Sumisip on Sunday afternoon.

Navy Commander Roy Vincent Trinidad said four rangers were injured in that encounter with the Abu Sayyaf. The clash involved at least 50 Abu Sayyaf militants in a 40-minute gun battle before they fled, leaving behind four slain comrades.

German ISIS Rapper Deso Dogg aka Denis Cuspert Killed in U.S. Air Strike
[Time] Denis Cuspert, alias Deso Dogg, grew to prominence after appearing with a severed head in a recruitment video

A U.S. air strike in Syria has killed a German hip-hop artist who left his home country in 2012 to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria and rap in the name of jihad.

On Oct. 16, 39-year-old Denis Cuspert -- once a moderately successful Berlin rapper who went by "Deso Dogg" -- was in a car near Raqqah, ISIS's de facto capital, when a successful air strike destroyed the automobile. An unnamed defense official told the Daily Beast that Cuspert was the strike's target.

Another Iranian American arrested and imprisoned in Tehran
[WAPO] Iran has arrested another American holding dual citizenship, bringing to four the number of Iranian Americans imprisoned in Tehran after they came under suspicion by hard-line security forces.

Siamak Namazi, a businessman based in Dubai who is in his early 40s, was arrested earlier this month when he was visiting a friend in Tehran, according to a family friend who did not want to be identified. It was not clear whether any charges have been brought against him or what authorities might allege he did.

Namazi, the son of a former governor in the oil-rich Iranian province of Khuzestan, comes from a prominent Iranian family. Namazi's family came to the United States in 1983 when he was a boy, and he later returned to Iran after graduating from college to serve in the Iranian military. He has consulted on business opportunities in Iran for more than a decade.

Apparent Russian raids in Syria's south for first time: monitor
[AlAhram] Russia appears to have carried out strikes in southern Syria's Daraa province for the first time in an apparent expansion of its aerial campaign, a monitor said on Thursday.

"Warplanes that are believed to be Russian carried out strikes on the Hara, Tal Antar, Kafr Nasaj and Aqraba areas of northern Daraa" last night, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor.

"This would be the first time that Russian planes have carried out strikes in Daraa," Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.

The Britannia-based monitor had no immediate details on casualties or damage in the strikes.

The area targeted is controlled by an array of opposition groups including moderate and Salafist tough guys and the Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front.

There have been festivities there between opposition and regime forces, but the province has not seen the kind of large-scale ground operation launched by government forces in coordination with Russian strikes elsewhere in the country since Moscow's air campaign began on September 30.

The southern province, which borders Jordan, is largely under opposition control, with the lovely provincial capital divided between regime and rebel forces.

On Thursday morning, the Observatory said, Russian warplanes renewed strikes elsewhere in Syria, including in the central province of Homs and the northwestern province of Idlib.

Kurds, rebels offensive continues near Raqqa
[ARA News] URFA ــ The Syrian rebel group of Liwaa Thuwar al-Raqqa, a major ally to the Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), announced Thursday the northeastern Syrian province of Raqqa –known as the de facto capital of the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS)– a closed military zone.

“The battle for liberating Raqqa has been agreed upon by major forces in northern Syria, and the zero-hour is approaching,” the rebel commander Abu Issa said in a statement on Thursday.

“We declare Raqqa province a military zone, and the zero-hour will be announced soon for liberating the entire province from ISIS terrorists.”

Abu Issa warned people of the province to keep themselves away from ISIS-linked headquarters for their own safety.

The rebel group called on Syrian members of ISIS to “surrender or die”, emphasizing “the battle to liberate Raqqa, which all Syrians and the world aspire for, will be a historic battle”.

Speaking to ARA News in Raqqa suburb, rebel fighter Mohammed Aziz said that large military preparations are underway in the northern countryside of Raqqa “for the great anti-ISIS battle in the province”.

“It is expected that tens of thousands of fighters are prepared for this fight from various rebel factions, including the key Kurdish forces in northern Syria,” Aziz reported.

Syria’s Kurdish forces of the YPG and several Arab rebel groups have formed a new alliance under the banner “Syrian Democratic Forces” to combat ISIS extremists.

Syrian warbirds hammer positions in Duma
DAMASCUS – At least ten people were killed and dozens others injured on Thursday after warplanes loyal to President Bashar al-Assad targeted the city of Duma, east of the Syrian capital Damascus, local activists reported.

“Pro-Assad warplanes targeted residential neighborhoods in the city, killing and injuring dozens of civilians,” an eyewitness told ARA News.

“Amid the large number of casualties, ambulances rushed into the stricken neighborhoods of Duma in a bid to rescue the wounded.”

Speaking to ARA News in Duma, media activist Abu Firas al-Hajji said that the Syrian air forces conducted at least three airstrikes, targeting residential neighborhoods in the city.

“The civil defense teams have been trying to save the wounded, removing the dead bodies from under the rubble,” al-Hajji added.

Activists circulated a video on the social media, showing civil defense teams dragging the dead bodies from under the rubble and transferring the wounded into nearby field hospitals.

The pictures showed a mass destruction in the targeted areas, as a state of alert and panic hit the locals.
