The strike took place in Lalpoor district when a drone aircraft targeted suspected Taliban gunnies in Much Megi area, said Mohammad Ayoub Hussainkhail, a border police official in eastern Afghanistan.

"A Taliban capo Nazir Afridi who was involved in the insurgency in Nangarhar was also among the dead murderous Moslems," Hussainkhail said, adding the civilians were not harmed in the attack.

Roadside explosion leaves 3 children dead in Nangarhar province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least three children were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) kaboom in eastern Nangarhar

province of Afghanistan.

According to local security officials, the incident took place late on Saturday afternoon in Sherzad district.

A front man for the 201 Silab Military Corps for eastern Afghanistan, Gen. Mohammad Naeem Hatefi, said at least six civilians were also injured.

Gen. Hatefi further added that the incident took place after a civilian car struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Hashem Khel area.

He said the injured civilians were shifted to hospital and their health condition has been reported as satisfactory.

No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.

Talibs and turbans from the other krazed killer groups frequently use Imrpovised Explosive Device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces which normally lead to civilian casualties.

Security sweep in Baidoa after palace attack
BAIDOA, Somalia -- Somali government forces along with African Union peacekeepers have conducted massive security sweep in Bay regional capital of Baidoa following deadly terror attack on Southwest State presidential palace, Garowe Online reports.

Commanders in charge of the operation told the media that weapons cache and nearly 20 people suspected of being Al Shabaab terrorists members were captured. The terror suspects include youths, businessmen, teachers and three women, officials disclosed.

The sweep has come two days after Al Shabaab terrorists gunmen attacked a palace housing Southwest State administration leader Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan.

Baidoa security situation has been deteriorating since the formation of Southwest state administration in late 2014. Planned assassinations, explosions and military style ambushes have made the situation extremely volatile.

On January 18, assailants gunned down the Chairman of Bay’s Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamea umbrella, Sheikh Sharif Siideky. On February 3, gunmen shot and killed another cleric aligned with the paramilitary group, Sheikh Hussein Hassan after evening prayers.

On February 14, renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Adan War-Iisho was targeted in planned assassination. On March 12, Al Shabaab launched a deadly assault on a building housing Southwest State leader.

Kenya: 3 People Killed in Attack on Governor's Convoy
Islamic terrorists militants attacked a governor's convoy in north Kenya on Friday for the second time in five months, killing three people, a police official said.

Five others are in critical condition following the attack on Mandera governor Ali Roba's convoy about 27 kilometers from the town, the official said.

The official said about 20 terrorists attackers shot at the convoy with rifles and rocket propelled grenades. Two vehicles were burned in the attack and a third vehicle was hijacked and driven off toward the Somali border, the official said. Two police officers were burned beyond recognition, and a politician was killed, he said. Five civilians were wounded by bullets. Roba was safely evacuated, the official said.

Somalia's al-Shabab terrorists militants claimed responsibility for the attack through their radio station.

In October, Roba's convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device as he was being driven to work, injuring one of his guards, police said.

Friday's attack comes two days after a new police chief was sworn into office. His predecessor resigned following an terrorist attack in Mandera last year that killed 36 people.

In November, al-Shabab terrorists fighters hijacked a bus near Mandera, singled out non-Muslims and non-Somalis, and shot dead 28 passengers. Twenty-two of those killed were teachers. Ten days later al-Shabab terrorists massacred 36 quarry workers who were non-Muslims.

Hundreds of teachers in parts of northern Kenya that borders Somalia have refused to return to work, fearing attacks by the Islamic terrorists extremists despite government reassurance of increased security.

Though really, if the arresters are not official police acting in their official capacity, this isn't an arrest but a straightforward kidnapping by persons unnamed and possibly unknown.

Hamas drones said to enter Egyptian airspace
[IsraelTimes] Egypt prevented from stationing effective anti-aircraft defenses under terms of peace deal with Israel

Hamas drones reportedly flew out of the Gazoo Strip and into Egyptian airspace above the Sinai Peninsula several times last week as the Egyptian army stood by helpless to prevent the incursions.

Egyptian radar picked up three drones flying out of the southern Gazoo Strip on numerous occasions, the Egyptian Al Osboa newspaper reported. The unmanned aerial vehicles penetrated as far as El Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, some 50 kilometers from the Egypt-Gazoo border.

Border forces opened fire on the drones but couldn't hit them because they were flying at an altitude of 750 meters (2,2250 feet), the report said. Under the terms of the 1979 peace deal with Israel, Egypt is not allowed to station any anti-aircraft weapons in the Sinai region, so its forces have been unable to prevent the Hamas activities.

Since Egypt's military ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in 2013, the authorities have accused Hamas of aiding jihadists who have waged a string of deadly attacks on security forces in the Sinai Peninsula.

At the end of February an Egyptian court ruled that all of Hamas -- including its political wing -- was a terror organization. The verdict came after an earlier decision that classified Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, as a terror group.

In December Hamas's military wing launched a locally manufactured drone during a Gazoo City march in honor of the founding of the group, prompting the Israel Air Force to summon jets to the area, but no shots were fired at the unmanned aircraft.

During the 2014 Operation Protective Edge, as IDF forces battled Hamas in the Gazoo Strip, the terror group launched two drones that were both blasted out of the sky by IAF-launched Patriot missiles soon after they crossed into Israel.

Arabia
US suspends diplomatic operations in Saudi Arabia
[Iran Press TV] US diplomatic officials based in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
say they are suspending operations at the embassy and consulates in the kingdom due to "heightened security concerns."

The US embassy officials in Riyadh said in a statement issued early on Sunday that telephone lines at the diplomatic facilities will be disconnected on Sunday and Monday and called on Americans in the kingdom to "be aware of their surroundings and take extra precautions when travelling throughout the country."

The statement neither identified a precise security threat nor did it call for the complete evacuation of the diplomatic facilities.

The US consulate generals in Saudi Arabia are located in the Red Sea city of Jeddah and in Dhahran in Eastern Province.

The State Department has also called on American citizens to "carefully consider the risks of traveling to Saudi Arabia and limit non-essential travel within the country."

"Regardless of where you are, it is always advisable to keep your security and situational awareness levels high," it added.

Report: Deportation of Lebanese from UAE Linked to Hizbullah Support
[AnNahar] A decision by the United Arab Emirates to deport Lebanese expats from the Gulf country is reportedly related to their staunch support to Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
and its allies.

Information obtained by al-Mustaqbal
... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri...
newspaper on Saturday said that the move comes in light of a speech by Hizbullah chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
which contained a strong attack against countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

On January 9, Nasrallah alleged the presence of a "Zionist-like naturalization scheme" in Bahrain.

His statement was met by broad Arab dismay, with the Gulf Cooperation Council announcing the remarks contained "an incitement to violence and discord."

Bahrain for its part summoned Leb's charge d'affaires, urging a "clear condemnation" of Nasrallah's stances.

The UAE's foreign ministry also summoned the Lebanese ambassador, handing him a protest letter over what it described as "hostile statements."

Observers in the UAE told the daily that "some of the deported Lebanese are known for bragging and clearly declaring loyalty for Hizbullah and its political axis in the region.

"They keep on stating their provocative stances in public areas, work places and through Gulf social networks," they told the daily.

Diplomatic sources denied that the case is sectarian, revealing that several Christian families are included in the deportation decision.

The sources estimated that the matter is linked to the "UAE's national security," pointing out that authorities informed the Lebanese state that the decision will not be reconsidered.

Around 90 Lebanese nationals, mostly Shiites were informed of the deportation decision.

The daily said that UAE authorities began informing Lebanese expats, mostly residing in Ajman, of its decision on Wednesday.

"Some were granted 24 hours to leave, others until Sunday," the report continued.

Sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper that those who were deported had received previous warnings, pointing out that UAE authorities don't have to inform them of the reasons behind the decision.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Cynthia backed into the galley, the barbecue fork held in front of her.
Jack! she called. Where the hell are you?...

An Nahar newspaper reported that contacts carried out by Prime Minister Tammam Salam didn't lead to any positive outcome.

UAE hosts more than 100,000 Lebanese workers.

Hundreds of Lebanese, mostly Shiite Moslems, have been quietly deported from the UAE since 2009. Deportations of Shiites from oil-rich Gulf states rose in 2013 after Hizbullah joined Syrian government forces in Syria's civil war.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
UAE was criticized by Sunni Islamists for not including Hizbullah on a list of 83 "terrorist" organizations it published in November.

Shiite-Sunni tensions have been on the rise in the Middle East with increasing sectarian violence in Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Gulf states are also worried about the rise of Shiite Iran's influence throughout the Arab world.

Chechen leader in Ankara 'killed for $1 million'
[Hurriyet Daily News] A man who is suspected of involvement in the killing of the separatist Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's honorary consul in Ankara in 2013 told friends that his group committed the crime for $1 million, a witness has told the court.

Medet Ünlu, 53, was killed by armed assailants at the honorary consulate in Ankara on May 22, 2013.

Turkish citizen Murat Aluc was placed in durance vile
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
as the main suspect on Oct. 11, 2014. He confessed to the crime, claiming that pro-Russian Chechens in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
"promised him a life in Ukraine" for the liquidation.

Ö.S., another detained suspect who is accused of hiding Aluc from law enforcement for months, was released by the court pending trial, despite the prosecutor's request that he be arrested.

A witness told the prosecutor in Ankara on Jan. 28 that Aluc was wearing a different hat every time he left Ö.S's house during his time as a runaway following the murder, daily Hurriyet has learned.

"We killed Medet Ünlu for $1 million. We were planning to kill five more people from this neighborhood, but the balloon burst," the witness quoted Ö.S. as angrily yelling at a local cafe, according to the testimony.

Goldsmith in Istanbul probed

Aluc told the prosecutor that he received $40,000 from a goldsmith in Istanbul's Beyazit neighborhood for the killing.

The Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul is probing the claim, while the investigation in Ankara is continuing.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had escaped from his bonds and overwhelmed his guard using the bludgeon the faithful Filomena had smuggled to him in the loaf of bread...
the family of Ünlu has filed a new complaint after the latest testimonies, demanding the released suspects in the case to be arrested.

The family claims that Aluc was hired by a Russian citizen who returned to Russia two days after the murder.

Ünlu was against Russian military operations in Chechnya and had been working as an activist to stop Chechens from going to fight in Syria as jihadists. His wife had claimed in a petition in July that Ünlu had been under the surveillance of Turkish intelligence when he was killed and "suffered oppression" from some circles, particularly pointing to Ramzan Kadirov, the pro-Russian leader of Chechnya who is accused of gross human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
violations in the territory.

In a separate case, five Chechens who were killed in Istanbul between 2009 and 2011 were murdered in the name of Russia's intelligence agency, according to a Feb. indictment by Bakirköy Public Prosecutor Ahmet Demirhuyuk in Istanbul.

A Chechen activist died in Istanbul after being hospitalized with suspected food poisoning on March 2, with some of his relatives and Turkish activists accusing Russia's intelligence agency of poisoning him.

India-Pakistan
Suicide bombers kill 14 people outside Pakistani churches
[FOXNEWS] Pak Taliban jacket wallahs went kaboom! themselves near two churches in the eastern city of Lahore on Sunday as worshippers were gathered inside, killing 14 people, officials said, in the latest attack against religious minorities in the increasingly fractured country.
"...and I hate the men of Shia," said Mahbub Ali.
In the tense aftermath, angry mobs lashed out at people they suspected of involvement in the attacks -- including one person who was burned to death -- and Christian crowds set fire to cars in a show of defiance in the country's second largest city and the prime minister's seat of power.
There doesn't seem to be much that doesn't raise angry mobs in Pakistain, but if there's anything that's a valid excuse it's kabooming a church. It's nice to see the Christians standing up for themselves against the bully boyz. Of course it'll be them that are rounded up, tossed into jug, and hung.
Life in Pakistain is increasingly fraught with danger for religious minorities, especially Christians.
All the Jews have been used up.
They have been targeted by turban Sunni Moslem turbans who object to their faith.
...or any faith that's not their faith and their interpretation of it.
They are also discriminated against in the wider society where they can often only get menial jobs like garbage collection, and are frequently targets of blasphemy accusations.
They're trying to describe an area (it's not a country, despite having a government) that worships a book as an idol.
The kabooms occurred in quick succession in the Christian neighborhood of Youhana Abad at two churches while parishioners were celebrating Sunday morning services inside. The churches are about 600 meters (650 yards) apart.
The "Taliban" that claimed the glory for this act would be to consolidated Taliban that consists of the original and its branches, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Lashkar-e-Islam, Jamaatul-Arar, and probably the Purple Gang and the Tatagias. We only occasionally see the term "al-Qaeda in Pakistain." The target is so "Lashkar-e-Jhangvi," as Jen Psaki would say should the words ever cross her lips, that they might as well have left calling cards and glossy 8x10 photos.
At least 70 people were maimed, said Zahid Pervez, the provincial director general of health, who gave the corpse count.
Why just boom a church? You can wait until Sunday, when it's a crowded church.
One unidentified witness told Pakistain's Geo television that the main gate to one of the churches targeted was closed so people were using a smaller gate.
Which was conveniently left unlocked.
"One bomber went kaboom! himself near that gate, that created chaos and during the course there was another blast," he said.
Had the church doors locked for safety, did they? And I'll bet that there were government guards on duty because as the Pak government so piously stated last time, security for Christians has been "heightened" and by now may be "fool-proof."
In the aftermath of the blasts the mood quickly turned violent.
Grandma murdered by an exploding guy in a turban? That'd cheese anybody off. The Pope would be pissed.
Much of the country is on edge after years of krazed killer violence including an attack on a Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
school in December that killed 150 people -- mostly students.
Kiddies are near on as easy to kill as grandmas.
Local television footage showed an angry crowd beating a person they thought was connected to the attack, while others attacked buses in the city. The crowds burned to death one person they believed was involved in the attack and tried to lynch another, said Haider Ashraf, deputy inspector general for Lahore.
[Yawn!]
Two police who were protecting the churches were also killed in the kabooms, which he confirmed were caused by suicide bombers.
Two of them? How fool-proof can you get?
A front man for the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

province government condemned the attacks but also said it was unfortunate that the mob had attacked suspects.
If there's no government justice you get vigilante justice.
He said piously that authorities are reinforcing security at the 481 remaining churches across the city.
[Uncontrollable laughter]
Militants appear to be targeting minorities more intensively recently, including attacks on a string of mosques belonging to members of the Shiite Moslem minority sect. In 2013, twin blasts at a church in Peshawar killed 85 people.
They're all hanging separately. Neither the Shiites nor the Ahmadis nor the Barelvis came out to string guys with turbans up from lamp posts.
"There will be more of such attacks," warned Ahsanullah Ahsan, a front man for the Taliban faction that grabbed credit for the assault, in a statement emailed to news hounds.
We coulda written this entire article from memory, with the exception of the Christians lynching a few of their tormentors.

Lakhvi back in detention on Punjab home dept's orders
[DAWN] A day after the detention orders of the alleged criminal mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi were declared void by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

home department reordered his detention on Saturday.

IHC's Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi on Friday had accepted Lakhvi's appeal filed against his third time detention orders and ordered the immediate release of the alleged Mumbai attacks criminal mastermind.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
before his release could be executed, the Punjab home department detained Lakhvi for a month on Saturday.

Lakhvi had been granted bail in both cases against him, including the 2008 Mumbai attack case and the six-year-old case pertaining to the kidnapping of an Afghan national.

IHC's decision drew a sharp reaction from New Delhi and the Indian External Affairs Ministry's (EAM) summoned Pakistain High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit and sought from him an explanation over Lakhvi's release.

Commenting on the IHC order to release Lakhvi, India's Home Ministry said in a statement that, "It is the responsibility of the Pakistain government to take all legal measures to ensure that Lakhvi does not come out of jail."

Washington also responded to IHC's order by saying that Pakistain had promised US to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attack to justice and it hoped that it would do so.

Lakhvi is accused of being the criminal mastermind of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, which killed 166 people. The Pak government took Lakhvi and other suspects into custody in February 2009 for 'facilitating' the attacks.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had also registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Lakhvi and six other alleged abettors in 2009.

#1  the battle for Ramadi is now well over a year long with the two factions having captured, lost and recaptured many areas

I've not seen a good estimate of civilian casualties but it must be over 10k by now given that Ramadi had a mid 2013 population of over half a million.

Iraq forces brace to flush out ISIL dregs from Tikrit
[Iran Press TV] The Iraqi Army, backed by Shia and Sunni volunteers, is preparing for the full liberation of the north-central city of Tikrit from the ISIL Takfiri

Iraqi commanders have been plotting a strategy for siphoning out the remaining ISIL faceless myrmidons from the city, located 140 kilometers northwest of Baghdad.

Karim al-Nuri, a top leader of the Badr militia and front man of the volunteer Popular Mobilization units, said it would take no more than "72 hours" to liberate Tikrit from the ISIL, which seized it last summer. He said "their number is now 60 to 70".

Khalid Jassam, the head of the security committee of Tikrit Provincial Council has told the Erbil-based BasNews outlet that the Iraqi forces and Shia militias currently controll 70 percent of the Sunni-majority city.

ISIS executes nine "spies" in Iraq
ISIS has executed another nine men for allegedly being spies in an unknown location in the Middle East.

Each man is forced to give interview before their murder in which they admit to spying on the terror group's location, movement and armament. All nine of them - blindfolded with hands bound behind their backs - are then escorted outside by masked terrorists who eventually instruct them to kneel and place handguns to their heads.

They pull the triggers without hesitation, sending their victims jerking forward until their limp bodies hit the dusty ground.

The masked ISIS commander who introduces the latest senseless propaganda video says the men 'were sentenced to death for betraying the religion of Allah'.

Graphic footage ultimately shows the deceased captives resting perfectly still in a shallow pool of blood.

But the scenes in which the senseless murders take place come six minutes and 30 seconds after the start of the seven minute video. It begins with a bizarre setup of a masked ISIS commander sitting in a corporate office, flanked by two other soldiers. He says that Islamic State succeeded in arresting an entire 'cell' of spies who were tasked with monitoring their locations back to their commanding officer.

The unnamed militant then claims three of the men who squealed on the others, adding: 'We took the investigation to a judge and after collecting evidence, they were sentenced to death for betraying the religion of Allah.' Each of the nine kidnapped men are then forced to give interviews before their impending doom - presumably under duress - in which they confess to being spies. Their nationalities and professions are as yet a mystery, but some of the men look visibly terrified as they speak in trembling Arabic.

This is the second video of an Islamic State execution to surface this week following the equally brutal mass murder of eight 'informers'. In the video which emerged on Thursday, the terror group justified the killings as vengeance for the military operations against them in Syria and Iraq.

The gruesome propaganda video cut from scenes of the men being killed to footage of people who ISIS claims were killed during Coalition attacks on its locations. Cutaways include footage of dead children underneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and body bags. As with the latest video which features interviews with the doomed captives, it featured graphics which 'profiled' each of the men about to be murdered.

The videos emerge amid claims that ISIS is using chlorine gas as a chemical weapon against peshmerga fighters in Iraq.

Kurdish authorties made the allegation following a suicide bomb attack involving a truck on January 23. In a statement, the Kurdistan Region Security Council said the alleged chemical attack took place on a road between Iraq's second-largest city of Mosul and the Syrian border.

It was there Peshmerga forces who were trying to seize a ISIS supply line - and discovered '20 gas canisters' loaded onto the back of the truck involved. Video provided by the council showed the truck racing down a road with white smoke pouring out of it as it came under heavy fire from peshmerga fighters. It later showed a white, billowing cloud after the truck exploded and the remnants of it scattered across a road.

's (IS/ISIS) gunnies blew up Saturday evening the strategic bridge of Qara Qozak in the countryside of Kobane to disturb the movement of the Kurdish fighters in the area, military sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News on the phone, Abu Ali Osman, a member of the joint forces, said that IS bully boyz bombed the ancient bridge of Qara Qozak, in an attempt to prevent the advancement of the joint forces to the group's strongholds on the other side of Euphrates river.

"Following the collapse of the hardline group's defenses, the group bombed the bridge as a protective strategy against the arrival of the Kurdish joint forces," he said.

Osman also pointed out that the remaining part of the bridge is filled with explosives.

After the bridge's bombardment, the countryside of Kobane is detached from the western and southern banks of the Euphrates River. The Kurdish forces can only reach the group through the Tishreen Dam and the Euphrates Dam in Raqqa.

On Friday, at least 30 Islamic State gunnies were killed during festivities with the joint forces near the Qara Qozak bridge, while four Kurdish fighters from bit the dust.

Assad's cousin killed in Latakia
[ARA] The family of Syrian president Bashir al-Assad mourned Mohammed Tawfiq al-Assad (aka Sheikh al-Jabal), one of the Syrian president's cousins, who was killed in ambiguous conditions on Friday in the Syrian coastal city of Latakia.

Images of the victim with the Syrian president were published on social media sites on a large scale coupled with another image of the mourning-paper which included the date of the funeral.

There are conflicting reports about the conditions of Tawfiq's death, but pro-regime media confirmed that he was killed while fighting rebels in the countryside of Latakia.

"Tawfiq was martyred while performing his national duty," pro-Assad media sources reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth ordered the space pirate fleet to attack Zemblonia...
the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that rifts emerged between him and an influential figure in Qardahah (Assad's hometown) "and Tawfiq was shot in the head".

Commenting on the event, the Syrian media activist Atif Rasheed told ARA News that there is still shortage in information about the ongoing battles in the countryside of Latakia, adding it's not clear yet who leads pro-Assad forces at the battlefronts there.

"If Tawfiq al-Assad was part of those battles, especially in Doreen area, then he is absolutely killed by the rebels," he said, pointing out that the information he received about the victim showed that he has nothing to do with the army. "Tawfiq and his family only work in business. He was never involved in the festivities."

Other pro-opposition sources reported that the Assad's cousin was sniped by the rebels' sleeper cells in Qardahah.

Noteworthy, Hilal al-Assad, another cousin of the Syrian president and former commander of the National Defense Army militia, was killed nearly one year ago in the countryside of Latakia with a number of his guards during battles with the al-Nusra

Tawfiq al-Assad is known as one of the Syrian mafia men who carried out many smuggling operations, especially between Leb and Syria, according to pro-opposition sources.

(ISIS) handed themselves over to Kurdish Peshmerga forces on Friday in the village of Ghubaiba in Kirkuk province, a military official told Rudaw.

Shwan Hama Gharib, a commander of the Peshmerga forces, said the fighters walked into the Peshmerga base in Ghubaiba to surrender.

The fighters walked into the Peshmerga base without any guns, and are now under investigation by Kurdish forces, Gharib added.

Pushing through with their recent offensive Kurdish Peshmerga forces, backed with coalition Arclight airstrikes, attacked ISIS hard boyz and took control of major villages and towns in Kirkuk province on Friday.

group launched air strikes against the jihadists in a key Syrian village overnight after Kurdish forces appealed for action, a monitor said Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strikes near the northeastern village of Tal Tamr were the first by the U.S.-led coalition in the area since an IS advance there began in late February.

There were no immediate details on casualties in the raids, which the Britannia-based monitor said hit IS positions near the village in the northeastern province of Hasakeh.

The strikes came just hours after the Kurdish forces battling to prevent IS from seizing Tal Tamr and the nearby border town of Ras al-Ain appealed for international action.

In a statement, the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) called on "the international coalition forces to take part in the battle for Tal Tamr".

The village is one of a number that IS has attacked in Hasakeh province since it began an offensive there in late February.

It has so far seized several villages and kidnapped more than 200 Assyrian Christians in the area, prompting thousands of residents to flee to the safety of nearby cities.

Tal Tamr, while small, has strategic value because it lies on a road that runs across the Iraqi border to the east and on to IS's bastion there, djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
.

It also sits on a road leading north to the Turkish border and the town of Ras al-Ain, which is also under IS assault.

On Friday, YPG front man Redur Khalil said IS was bringing reinforcements to the Ras al-Ain area and Kurdish fighters there were expecting an "imminent attack".

The IS offensive in Hasakeh came after Kurdish fighters backed by U.S.-led air strikes expelled the jihadist group from the key border town of Kobane.

Syrian Warplanes Raid Outskirts of Arsal
[AnNahar] Syrian warplanes raided on Saturday posts controlled by gunnies on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal.

The state-run National News Agency reported that the targeted positions lie in Khirbet Younine area on the outskirts of Arsal in Leb's Eastern Mountain range.

The town lies 12 kilometers from the border with Syria and served as a key conduit for refugees, rebels and maimed people fleeing strife-torn Syria, but the Lebanese army stepped up it's security measures in the village to stop infiltration.

group (IS/ISIS) in the vicinity of Tel Temir in Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, local sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News in Tel Temir, civil rights activist Hozan Aziz said that after two weeks of suspension in the area, the coalition's warplanes renewed their raids against IS locations near the town of Tel Temir.

"The Arclight airstrikes targeted al-Raqba village near Tel Temir town and some other sites in the vicinity of the town, after IS control of the villages with Assyrian majority about a month ago," Aziz quoted Kurdish fighters as saying.

Similar strikes were recorded on the hardline group's strongholds in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) after one week of intensive battles between the Kurdish forces of the People's Protection Units (YPG) and IS snuffies west of Sere Kaniye city.

Kurdish military sources reported that the U.S.-led international coalition's warplanes suspended air strikes against IS targets in the vicinity of the town of Tel Temir (50 west of Hasakah) and Sere Kaniye since the beginning of March 2015.

150 Kurdish families escape from ISIS-held Mosul
[RUDAW.NET] Peshmerga forces have taken in an estimated 150 Kurdish families who on Friday night fled the ISIS-held city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, a Kurdish official said.

The hundreds of escapees, including women and kiddies, were sheltered by Kurdish forces in the town of Wanke, 35 km northwest of Mosul on the Tigris River, according to Saeed Mamozini, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party branch 14 in Mosul.

"Mosul civilians are escaping from ISIS whenever they find an opportunity," Mamozini told Rudaw, adding residents are sometimes captured by ISIS fighters before reaching the safe zones.

"Peshmerga forces have sheltered hundreds of Kurdish people, including women and kiddies who fled Mosul last night, providing them the basic necessities," Mamozini said.

Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city some 400 km north of Baghdad, fell to ISIS on June 10 when an estimated 1,300 forces of Evil occupied government offices, army facilities and the airport, forcing thousands of civilians to flee.

The Iraqi Army, backed by air support from the US-led coalition and ground support from Peshmerga, has announced plans to re-take Mosul in 2015.
