Afghanistan
Afghan MP survives bomb attack
[ARABNEWS] An outspoken female Afghan politician survived a suicide kaboom attack on her vehicle on Sunday, suffering slight wounds, but three civilian bystanders were killed, a police front man said.

Member of Parliament Shukria Barakzai is a women's rights advocate and a close ally of new President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
, who condemned the attack in a statement.

"I survived because of my people's prayers," Barakzai said by telephone from her hospital bed.

The bombing was the latest to target members of the US-backed Afghan government, which is fighting a fierce onslaught by the Taliban movement as most foreign combat troops prepare to leave Afghanistan by the end of the year.

Hashmat Stanekzai, a front man for Kabul's police chief, said three non-combatants were killed by the suicide kaboomer and more than 10 maimed. Stanekzai said social media reports that Barakzai's daughter had been killed were not correct.

Barakzai told Rooters in a 2005 interview that she had run a secret school for girls during the Taliban's five-year rule, during which harsh restrictions were imposed on women.

The Taliban's government was toppled by US-backed Afghan forces after it refused to hand over the Al-Qaeda planners of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

Barakzai is a member of the team Ghani appointed to help choose a new Cabinet after he took office in late September after a lengthy and bitter dispute over election results with rival Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
finally ended in a coalition government.

Continued disputes between the two camps have delayed the new Cabinet's appointment.

Foreign militants involved in terrorist activities in Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Sunday that foreign forces of Evil belonging to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Chechnya and forces of Evil from al-Qaeda network are involved in terrorist activities in Afghanistan.

Speaking during a presser, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) front man Sediq Sediqi said majority of the foreign forces of Evil are trained in Pakistain's North Wazoo tribal region and are sent to Afghanistan to carry out attacks.

Sediqi further added that the recent arrest of three al-Qaeda forces of Evil from neighboring Tajikistan were nabbed
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
in in Kunduz province who had disguised themselves in women's dress.

He said the forces of Evil are motivated in Madrasas and trained to stage attacks in Afghanistan and against the Afghan people.

According to Sediqi, the detained forces of Evil have confessed that they were trained in North Waziristan and were sent to stage attacks against the Afghan and coalition forces.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been insisting that numerous Madrasas in Pakistain are used to train gunnies and use them to carry out insurgency activities in Afghanistan.

The latest remarks by a prominent Pak religious holy man and politician Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman further endorses the claims by Afghan officials.

Rehman has recently said that the war in Afghanistan would not end until foreign forces are completely withdrawan and endorsed the Taliban-led insurgency.

Two Afghan soldiers martyred in roadside bomb explosion
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were martyred following roadside kaboom kaboom, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.

A statement released by MoD said the two Afghan soldiers bit the dust in the past 24 hours.

No further details were given regarding the exact location of the incident by the Ministry of Defense.

The anti-government armed murderous Moslem groups have not commented regarding the incident so far.

Talibs and other bully boy groups frequently use improvised bomb (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition forces.

According to defense officials, the Afghan army deaths stands at 4 service members daily on average which are mainly caused due to improvised bomb (IED) attacks.

Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are also the major contributor to civilian casualties in Afghanistan.

HUDUR, Somalia -- Somali National Army (SNA) troops have recovered heads of livestock from Al Shabaab-held areas near Bakool regional capital of Hudur of southwestern Somalia as residents reported of brief battle between pastoralists and militants in central village, Garowe Online reports.
"Bessy! Oh Bessy you've come home!"
Somali army commanders in Bakool said on government-owned station, Radio Mogadishu that raids on Al Shabaab-held areas which lie few kilometers from Hudur led to the recovering of heads of livestock allegedly meant for Alms contributions.
Alms for Ammo
Meanwhile, nomads clashed with Al Shabaab in Aad village, 40 km north of Mudug regional district of Harar Dhere in central Somalia on account of Zakat collection, killing two militants. The brief battle flared up in Aad after fighters from Al Shabaab asked pastoralists who lost their farm animals to recurrent droughts to pay herds.

Airforce bombs Benghazi's Al-Nuran Hotel
[Libya Herald] Aircrafts under the command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) have carried out aristrikes on Benghazi's Al-Nuran hotel and other positions as they attempt to push Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
from the centre of the city.

The Nuran hotel was one of the last positions held by Ansar al-Sharia in the Sabri district where LNA forces have been battling over the past ten days to gain control of Benghazi's seaport. Ansar al-Sharia, one of the largest forces in the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shoura Council, had reportedly deployed a number of snipers at the hotel according to Mohammed Hejazi, an LNA front man.

Hejazi explained that the LNA had simultaneously bombed Benghazi's Libyan Club on the corniche in Sabri. He said Ansar al-Sharia fighters had been holed up there along with supplies of ammunition and weapons.

Hejazi also shed light on air-raids over Derna three days ago following suicide kabooms carried out in Beida and Tobruk. Extremists from Derna are believed to have been responsible for the bombings.

He said LNA planes had attacked Derna's former police academy building and structures close to a football pitch on a beach here gunnies were known to have stored weapons and ammunition.

Woman suicide bomber 'kills several' in Nigerian market
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A female jacket wallah blew herself up Sunday at a mobile phone market in northeast Nigeria

, killing several people, witnesses said.

The attack happened in the town of Azare in Bauchi state, which neighbors the three states worst hit by attacks from Boko Haram

Islamists.

Residents said a man who had been seen with the woman at the market was killed by an angry mob.

"A suicide bomber came into the market as it was closing and blew herself up in the middle of all the merchants and their customers," a witness said.

"I saw at least eight dead. Several other people were maimed," another witness, Alyu Habib, told AFP.

"She came in the company of two men and she detonated the explosives concealed under her dress," he said.

"The two men tried to flee but they were pursued and apprehended. One of them was lynched to death whereas the other is now in jug," Habib added.

A third witness confirmed that one of the two men spotted entering the market with the woman "was killed by the angry mob." He said the "kaboom set the shops on fire" and firefighters were working to douse the inferno.

The attack near Azare's stadium is the third bombing in the town in recent weeks.

Last week, a bomb concealed in a bag went off near a cash dispensing machine, killing several people. On Oct. 23, a bombing near a bus station killed at least five people.

Nigeria army retakes Chibok from Boko Haram
The Nigerian army says it has recaptured the north-eastern town of Chibok, which was seized by Boko Haram militants on Thursday.

The group, which says it is fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria, has repeatedly targeted villages in Borno state in recent months.

There are reports of many Boko Haram members being killed in Sunday's raid.
Excellent!
Correspondents say Chibok was retaken late on Saturday, after dozens of military vehicles were seen heading to the village.

A local vigilante force was part of the operation.
Perhaps they're more motivated than the Nigerian army has been to date...

Bangladesh
Suspected militants hack to death Bangladesh professor
[ARABNEWS] Suspected Death Eaters have hacked to death a university professor in western Bangladesh, several years after he led a push to ban students wearing full-face veils, police said Sunday.

Police have tossed in the calaboose
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
at least 20 people for questioning over the murder near Rajshahi University in the west of the Moslem-majority country where the victim was a professor of sociology, a senior officer said.

The victim, Shafiul Islam, followed the folk sect Baul, popular in parts of western Bangladesh, whose members call themselves followers of humanism rather than a particular religion.

The murder has triggered protests in the capital Dhaka and in Rajshahi where mainly students have marched through university campuses and boycotted classes since news of the killing broke on Saturday.

"We are working on several possible motives behind the killing," Rajshahi police commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said, adding that the "leading" one was that the murder was carried out by myrmidons.

He said some 20 people have been arrested but declined to say which religious or political groups they were connected to.

A previously unknown group calling itself the Ansar al Islam Bangladesh-2 grabbed credit for the killing, after opening a Facebook page late on Saturday.

"Our Mujahideens have today murdered an apostate who had prohibited female students from wearing veils in his department and the classrooms," a posting said.

Bangladesh is the world's third largest Moslem-majority nation with the vast majority following a moderate form of the religion. Hard-line Islam has gained strength in recent years, but killings carried out in the name of Islam are rare.

Militant attacked a famous writer in 2004, and killed a well-known atheist blogger in February last year. In August, Death Eaters were accused of killing a moderate holy man who hosted popular shows on TV.

Sirajul Islam, also a sociology professor, said the slain teacher was not anti-Islam but was against full-face veils.

"He moved to ban full-face veils from the classrooms and examination halls. He thought full-face veils could be used to cheat in the examinations and it was impossible to identify a student who wears a full-face veil," he said.

Rajshahi University had been a stronghold of the student activist wing of the country's largest Islamist party before police launched a crack down on the group, after the secular government of Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. Four Pakistani soldiers dead, eight missing after checkpoint attack
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Four Pak soldiers were killed and at least eight were missing after bully boyz using rockets and grenades stormed a checkpoint overnight in the remote border region of North Wazoo, security sources said on Sunday.

The Pak military launched an operation to push the Taliban out of North Waziristan, their key stronghold, in June. Bases there were used by a variety of Death Eater groups to stage deadly attacks in both Afghanistan and Pakistain.

Three military sources, who asked not to be identified, said a major was among those killed in the attack. Eleven men were maimed and between eight and 10 were missing, they said.

A curfew had been imposed in Datta Khel, where the attack took place, and soldiers were combing the area around the Spara Gher checkpoint for their missing comrades, the sources said.

The Taliban have captured Pak soldiers in the past. Sometimes they have been released or have escaped. In 2012, the Islamist group beheaded 17 soldiers and posted a video of the killings on the Internet.

The military launched the North Waziristan operation to flush out the turbans on June 15, days after turbans mounted a deadly assault on Pakistain's biggest airport.

The offensive followed months of futile attempts to hold peace talks between the new government of Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
and the Death Eaters.

The military says it has killed around 1,200 bully boyz so far and locked away

around 300. The area is closed to journalists unless they travel with the military and most of the civilian residents - around a million people - were also ordered to leave their homes until the offensive is over.

Iraq
Kurdistan: ISIS oil smuggling
ERBIL - Eleven people have been arrested for smuggling oil produced by the Islamic State (ISIS) through the Kurdistan Region, a senior Kurdish security official announced on Thursday.

Kurdistan Regional Government Interior Minister Karim Sinjari told reporters in Erbil that "so far we have captured 11 individuals charged with smuggling oil with ISIS and our investigation will continue."

He added that "it's still early to reveal their names and the court will decide when to reveal them."

Analysts estimated ISIS was earning as much as $3 million a day in oil sales from fields in Iraq and Syria, although a German intelligence agency reported that this figure was probably closer to $274,000 a day, especially after US-led coalition air strikes to hit oil production and refinery targets in ISIS territory.

Since ISIS toppled Mosul and gained control of a third of Iraq in June, various reports emerged of Kurdish oil traders smuggling oil from ISIS areas in Iraq and Syria into Turkey, Iran, or the Kurdistan Region itself for sale.

Prime Minister Nechervan Barzani told reporters on Wednesday that “smuggling oil to ISIS is considered high treason,” and that his government had “pursued every legal recourse to prevent that.”

IDF Gravely Wounds Palestinian Boy Attempting To Cross Border Fence
[Ynet] 10-year-old Gazook boy hit by IDF fire after approaching Israel's border fence with Gazoo, failing to heed soldiers' warnings.

A young Paleostinian boy was shot by an IDF force on Sunday after approaching the security barrier between Gazoo and Israel. He was hit and was evacuated to Sorokoa Medical Center in Be'er Sheva in grave condition.

The IDF stressed that the soldiers had performed the procedure for the arrest of a suspect nearing the fence but the 10-year-old boy did not respond to calls to halt his advance.

The incident occurred in the border area near Kibbutz Be'eri at around 4 pm. Nahal Brigade soldiers deployed to the scene and called on the Paleostinian to stop and turn away from the fence, but he did not answer and the soldiers were forced to fire when he reached the barrier.

The youth, who was unarmed, was gravely maimed by gunfire. The IDF said it suspects the boy was sent as a scout by one of Gazoo's terror factions to test the troops' level of alert and response times.
The Times of Israel adds:
Later Sunday, the IDF tossed in the slammer
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
three unarmed Paleostinians near the Kerem Shalom Crossing, after they crossed the border fence and entered Israeli territory. The three were taken in for questioning at a nearby security facility, the NRG news site reported.

A similar incident occurred on Saturday, when IDF soldiers arrested an unarmed Paleostinian near Kibbutz Kfar Aza, after he had apparently crossed the border fence.

On Wednesday, two Paleostinian men managed to walk five kilometers (three miles) into Israeli territory near Kibbutz Be'eri before being spotted and stopped by IDF soldiers. Both men, who were unarmed as well, were taken in for questioning, according to Channel 10.
It sounds like the border fence wants serious repairs and an upgrade.

BIFF blast rocks North Cotabato
A powerful bomb blast late Sunday wounded more than a dozen people in an attack by militants in the southern Philippines. Officials said many of those wounded by the bomb in downtown Kabakan, North Cotabato were reportedly in serious condition.

The improvised explosive device, fashioned out from a mortar bomb, went off outside a public school. Soldiers and policemen who responded to the attack have recovered two more explosives nearby.

Captain Jo Ann Petinglay said, "The IED exploded near the gate of Kabacan Central Pilot School. Two more bombs were discovered at an overpass near the school and were immediately disrupted by in the area."

Security forces were looking into the involvement of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters. Petinglay said, "We are suspecting the BIFF as the culprit."

The bombing occurred a day after another improvised explosive device went off near an army post in North Cotabato’s Tulunan town. There were no reports of casualties, but the attack sent a chilling warning that militants can easily stage attacks undetected even with the presence of troops in the village.

Just recently, a mortar attack also killed an eight-year girl and a man and wounded three more people in nearby Pikit town where security forces are fighting the BIFF. The 6th Infantry Division blamed the attack on the BIFF, but the militants blamed the soldiers as being behind the shelling.

Three women gunned down in southern Thailand
Two women were gunned down in Yala's Betong district yesterday morning, and a female teacher was also fatally shot in Pattani's Khok Pho district. Meanwhile, a bomb in Narathiwat's Rueso district injured a defense volunteer.

In Yala's Betong district, Sirirat Saechan was gunned down and her friend, Salinee Saethong, died on route to the hospital after two men on a motorbike chased and open fire at them while they were riding a motorcycle.

Schoolteacher Isara Chairitchok was shot at her family's gasoline pump shop in Khok Pho, as two men on a motorbike pretended to be customers and shot her twice in the head and twice in the back. She later died at the hospital. Isara is the 179th teacher to be killed in the region over the past decade. Police suspect the attack was in retaliation for the killing on Friday of two alleged insurgent leaders in Nong Chik district.

Internal Security Operations Command spokesman Colonel Pramote Phromin said weapons and ammunition were seized in the operation on Friday at Nong Chik's Ban Khok Node in which two suspected insurgents were killed. Suspects Russadi Baerohsamae and Abdullohman Jehteh were wanted for 11 and 45 national security cases respectively.

In Narathiwat's Rusoh district, defense volunteer Doloh Waesu was injured by a roadside bomb. He was on patrol with five others when they spotted a bomb under a vandalized roadside sign. On the way to investigate, Doloh tripped on a wire linked to a hidden bomb.

IS Claims Beheading of U.S. Aid Worker, 18 Syrians, Execution of 13 More
[AnNahar] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group on Sunday released a video claiming the beheading of U.S. aid worker Peter Kassig in a warning to Washington as it prepares to send more troops to Iraq.

The video also showed the gruesome simultaneous beheadings of at least 18 men described as Syrian military personnel, the latest in a series of mass executions and other atrocities carried out by IS in Syria and Iraq.

The latest video also showed a highly choreographed sequence of the beheadings of at least 18 prisoners said to be Syrian officers and pilots loyal to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...

Jihadists are shown marching the prisoners past a wooden box of long military knives, each taking one as he passed, then forcing them to kneel in a line and decapitating them.

"Today, we're slaughtering the soldiers of Bashar," the same black-clad bad boy said in the video.

"Tomorrow, we'll be slaughtering your (U.S.) soldiers. And with Allah's permission, we will break this final and last crusade, and the Islamic State will... begin to slaughter your people on your streets."

Sunday's video came as IS suffered battleground losses in Iraq backed by U.S.-led air strikes, with government forces on Saturday breaking the jihadists' months-long siege of Iraq's largest oil refinery.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said IS also executed 13 men in Raqa in Syria, accusing them of belonging to pro-regime sleeper cells.

#1  Location of beheadings is indeed Raqqa, Syria per people who have seen the video.

#2  It is not known when the latest beheadings occurred. They could have occurred before reports of the bombing that reportedly injured Jihadi John.

Each ISIS barbarian retrieved a knife from a box as he passed it with his victim.

These barbarians are not 10 feet tall. If civilization fights back, they can be destroyed.

#3  Peter Kassig's beheading was not shown like the beheadings of past Americans. It is speculated by a friend of Kassig's that he may have fought his captors during the event.

#4  Thanks Ebbomosh.

Question: knowing what we all know about ISIS, why would anyone, ANYONE, surrender? It's a fight to the death every time because if you surrender they're going to kill you anyway.

New U.S.-led strikes on Syria's Kobane
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) jihadist group carried out a series of air strikes overnight in the embattled Syrian town of Kobane, a monitor and activists said Sunday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported intensifying festivities between Kurdish fighters defending Kobane and ISIS jihadists in the south of the town, which lies on the Turkish border.

Kurdish activist and Kobane resident Mustefa Ebdi reported at least seven international air strikes overnight.

He said the kabooms could be heard 20 kilometers from Kobane, and shook the cars of people with him on the border between Turkey and Syria.

In southern Kobane, meanwhile, the Britannia-based Observatory said fierce festivities underway for the past three days were continuing with reports of injuries on both sides.

The group said Kurdish YPG forces and Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters were also shelling ISIS positions during the festivities.

Ebdi also reported the festivities, saying the situation in Kobane "has progressed from defense to attack because of the air raids and the support the peshmerga and the (Arab rebel) Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
are giving the YPG fighters."

"The Kurdish fighters are advancing slowly because of the mines laid by IS. They are trying to retake territory," he said.

The Islamic State began advancing on Kobane two months ago, hoping to seize the small Kurdish town and cement their grip over a large stretch of the Syrian-Turkish border.

But U.S.-led air strikes, along with fierce fighting by YPG troops backed by around 150 Iraqi peshmerga, have so far prevented ISIS from overrunning the town completely.

The Observatory said Sunday that the toll since fighting began had risen to 1,153, including 27 civilians, 398 Kurdish YPG fighters, 16 non-Kurdish rebels backing the YPG and 712 ISIS fighters.

#4  [Asharq Al-Awsat] If any group could be said to have powerful enemies these days, it is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), making a certain amount of paranoia on the part of the organization and its leaders understandable. It is therefore not surprising that it has just made it harder for jihadist hopefuls to join the group in an effort to weed out spies.

A good sign. Thank you, RJ45ACP.

Obama confirms 'evil' murder of U.S. aid worker Kassig
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] President Barack Obama
Because I won...
confirmed Sunday the death of U.S. aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig, calling his beheading at the hands of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group "pure evil."

"Abdul-Rahman was taken from us in an act of pure evil by a terrorist group that the world rightly associates with inhumanity," Agence La Belle France-Presse quoted Obama as saying in a statement released aboard Air Force One as he flew back to the United States from an Asia tour.

Before Obama's statement, ISIS turbans claimed they beheaded Kassig in a video.

The 26-year-old former U.S. soldier was paraded at the end of an ISIS video released in October that showed the murder of British aid worker Alan Henning.

Previouisly, Britannia and the United States said they were analyzing the video to confirm the authenticity of the video.

"We are aware of a further video and are analyzing its contents. If true this is a further disgusting murder," said the spokeswoman for British Foriegn Office said.

Kassig's parents said Sunday they were awaiting official confirmation on the death of their "treasured son."

Government
State Dept Computers Hacked, Email Shut Down
[HOSTED.AP.ORG] The State Department has taken the unprecedented step of shutting down its entire unclassified email system as technicians repair possible damage from a suspected hacker attack.

A senior department official said Sunday that "activity of concern" was detected in the system around the same time as a previously reported incident that targeted the White House computer network. That incident was made public in late October, but there was no indication then that the State Department had been affected. Since then, a number of agencies, including the U.S. Postal Service and the National Weather Service, have reported attacks.
