Egyptian Forces Kill Top Jihadist In Sinai
[IsraelTimes] Army says key leader of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, Egypt's deadliest terror group and an ally of the Islamic State, killed in raid

Egyptian soldiers killed Friday a top member of the jihadist group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis
...Supporters of Jerusalem, the current pen name of al-Qaeda in the Sinai Peninsula...
who was involved in deadly attack on security forces in the Sinai Peninsula, the army said.

Shahtah Farhan al-Maatqa was killed in a raid in the town of Rafah on the border with the Gazoo Strip, the army front man said in a statement online.

He was "a key leader of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis... and had been involved in attacks that targeted the armed forces and the police" in the Sinai Peninsula, the statement said.

Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (Partisans of Jerusalem) says it supports the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group, which has seized swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria, but has not pledged formal allegiance to it.

It is Egypt's deadliest krazed killer group.

Last month, the army announced the death of another leader of the jihadist group, who was then identified as an explosives expert who was attempting with three others to plant a roadside kaboom.

Algerian Army kills 4 militants
[ARABNEWS] Algerian soldiers killed four gunnies during anti-militant operations, the Defense Ministry said Friday, a day after raiding the suspected hideout of holy warriors behind the beheading of a French hostage.

Three suspected holy warriors were killed on Friday in the area of Bouria, 120 km east of Algiers, the ministry said in a statement.

Two Kalashnikovs and a semi-automatic rifle were seized, it added.

The fourth Death Eater was killed in a separate raid on Thursday in the Tiaret region, 340 km southwest of Algiers.

The army also announced Thursday that it had destroyed a camp in the Djurdjura mountains, 150 km southeast of Algiers, believed to have been used by holy warriors who beheaded French hiker Herve Gourdel last month.

Gourdel was kidnapped on Sept. 21 by Jund Al-Khilifa, or "Soldiers of the Caliphate," which has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group in Iraq and Syria.

The daily Al-Watan newspaper reported that the army had identified five individuals thought to be behind Gourdel's execution, including the Death Eater who conducted the beheading.

Explosion outside Benghazi's Tibesti Hotel kills one, injures two
[Libya Herald] One man has been killed and two others injured in an kaboom outside Benghazi's Tibesti Hotel, a focal point for demonstrations in the city since the revolution.

Staff at Benghazi Medical Centre (BMC) identified the dead man as Abdullah Al-Sharia. The names of theother two individuals receiving treatment at the hospital have not been released.

Burning debris and car parts littered the area where the kaboom took place. Security officials have not yet ascertained the cause of the blast.

The use of plastic bombs attached to cars has become commonplace over the past year. However last week, jacket wallahs used cars loaded with explosives to attack Benina Airbase.

Large protests had been held regularly in the open area by the Tibesti Hotel. They have tended to be anti-Islamist in character and in opposition to the General National Congress (GNC). They have sometimes resulted in protestors being attacked and even killed, such as a year ago when gunnies met the demonstrators with hot lead. The following month a bomb was thrown at anti-Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. protestors outside the Tibesti.

In recent months, in the face of escalating violence in Benghazi, these Friday protests have been ever more sparsely attended.

There had been calls on social media for protests in Benghazi today with further protests planned for 15 October. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
whether these will gather support remains to be seen. Initial reports have indicated that those caught up in this afternoon's blasts were not taking part in any demonstrations and were merely bystanders.

Alaseema TV reporter kidnapped in Tripoli
[Libya Herald] A TV presenter with Alassema TV station was reported to have been seized in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
this evening by an gang and taken to an unknown destination.

Maad Al-Tleeb was in the capital's Salahaddin district with a friend when, at around 7 pm this evening, a white Chevrolet pulled over and three men in military uniform and armed with Kalashnikovs got out and grabbed him. According to the friend, he had seen Al-Tleeb being taken to the nearby Yarmouk camp, currently controlled by Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
forces,

The news hound's family are said to have gone to the camp but were told by the camp commander that no one had been taken there today.

Based in the capital, Alaseema (which means Capital in Arabic) has taken a consistently pro-army, pro-police, pro-HoR and anti-Ansar al-Sharia

and anti-Moslem Brüderbund stand. It also has been subject to regular attacks ‐ it is thought as a result.

Traffic Checkpoint Nets Alleged Juarez Cartel Capo
[HOSTED.AP.ORG] Federal police used a seemingly routine traffic checkpoint to nab Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, the alleged narco mob boss accused by Mexico's government of turning the border city of Juarez into one of the deadliest places on the planet.

Over the course of an 11-month investigation, agents identified two homes in the northern city of Torreon that Carrillo Fuentes was believed to have visited discreetly as well as a vehicle he used to get around town.

They used that information to narrow down his movements, and on Thursday set up the checkpoint. The purported Juarez Cartel boss presented a false driver's license at first but later acknowledged his real identity, National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido said. No shots were fired in the brief operation.

Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam called the arrest "a capture of great importance."

Authorities say Carrillo Fuentes, 51, heads the cartel founded by his late brother, Amado Carrillo Fuentes, and both the U.S. and Mexico offered multimillion-dollar rewards for his arrest.

Known as "The Viceroy" or "The General," he took over control of the Juarez gang after Amado, nicknamed "The Lord of the Skies," died in 1997 in a botched cosmetic surgery. Amado got his nickname by flying planeloads of drugs into the United States.

The Grand Turk
Death toll from Turkey clashes rises to 37
[Iran Press TV] The corpse count from festivities between Turkish police and pro-Kurdish protesters across the country has risen to 37.

Speaking to news hounds in the capital Ankara on Friday, Interior Minister Efkan Ala said 31 people were killed and 351 others injured in the protests that resumed for the fourth consecutive day in various cities, the Hurriyet Daily News reported.

"This spiral of violence should immediately be stopped," Ala said, adding, "Everyone should do their part to put an end to these incidents. We should all stand in solidarity with each other."

Over 1,000 protesters have been detained in 35 provinces, he noted.

Hours later, Turkish news agencies reported that six more injured people, including two coppers, died in hospitals.

Police used tear gas and plastic bullets to disperse the protesters who were trying to march to Istanbul's Taksim Square on Friday. Several people were detained in the crackdown.

The protesters are outraged at the Turkish government for its stance on the ongoing fighting in Syria's Kurdish town of Kobane.

They accuse Ankara of inaction over the crimes committed by the ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
bandidos gunnies by preventing Turkish Kurds to join Kobane's citizens in their fight against the hard boys.

The ISIL terror group launched its assault on Kobane three weeks ago, forcing 200,000 mainly Kurdish residents to flee into neighboring Turkey.

The bandidos gunnies have committed widespread acts of violence, including mass executions, abductions, torture and forcing women into slavery in the areas they have seized in Iraq and Syria.

Source: Air Force father, son targeted online by ISIS followers
A taste:
[FoxNews] The Facebook pages of an Air Force servicemember and his son were âswarmedâ by offensive messages after Islamic State sympathizers urged followers to target them online, a source tells Fox News â a virtual attack that coincided with an Army bulletin warning ISIS may try to track down military families on social media.

The Army intelligence bulletin, obtained by Fox News, had warned that Islamic State militants were calling on supporters to scour social media for addresses of U.S. military family members and âshow up [at their homes] and slaughter them." The assessment urged U.S. military personnel to be vigilant.

A counterterrorism source described to Fox News how one military family was targeted around the same time.

Iraq
ISIS within 8 mi of Baghdad and armed with MANPADS
[SeeBS] BAGHDAD -- Militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have infiltrated one of Baghdad's outer suburbs, Abu Ghraib which is only eight miles from the runway perimeter of Baghdad's international airport.

It's cause for serious concern now that the Iraqi Defense Ministry has confirmed ISIS has MANPADs, shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles.

The Iraqi army is still patrolling Abu Ghraib, but they play cat and mouse with the ISIS fighters who stage hit and run attacks on security forces.
Picture if you will, a 25 mile long convoy headed south from Baghdad to Ali al Salem air base in Kuwait.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Traffic Held Up Over Dummy Bomb In West Bank Bus Stop
[IsraelTimes] Police cordoned off a northern West Bank bus stop near the city of Ariel Friday after a suspected bomb was discovered at the site. Sappers who rushed to the scene, located near the Tapuah Junction, examined the device and concluded that it was a fake.

Police said the device comprised an empty canister attached to a cellphone.

Late last month, a makeshift bomb went off at the same site, in what security officials believed was an attempted terror attack. The kaboom caused minor damage to the bus stop, but resulted in no injuries, police said.

The Tapuah Junction, which is located near the Paleostinian city of Nablus, has been the site of several terror attacks in the past. Over the past few months, security forces say they have thwarted a number of planned attacks at the site.

Earlier this month, two Paleostinians were jugged
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
at the junction after Israeli forces stopped and searched them, and found that they were carrying three pipe bombs and other weapons, raising suspicions that they were planning a terror attack.

In May, Border Police forces at the junction stopped a Paleostinian man wearing an explosives vest, in an apparent suicide kaboom attempt. Several days later, a Paleostinian man was rubbed out by Border Police forces near the site after apparently opening fire at them. The man's family, however, maintained he was innocent and had arrived at a checkpoint near the junction in order to receive a shipment of cellphones for a store he owns.

Last year, Evyatar Borowsky, 32, a father of five from the nearby settlement of Yitzhar, was killed when a Paleostinian man at the junction stabbed him multiple times.

Islamic State Advances Deeper Into Syrian Town Of Kobani

fighters advanced deeper into the Syrian town of Kobani on the Turkish border on Friday, and have taken control of a command center belonging to the Kurdish forces defending the Syrian city of Kobani from invasion, Arab-language Sky News reported. #5  The worst of it is the Turks. Sitting on the border, only minutes away from the combat. Full armored units. Doing nothing but watching -- and preventing resupply of the Kurds.

Fuck the Turks. Its beginning to look like we need airstrikes on the Turks to open logistic lines for the Kurds.

#7  Its not in Turkey's interest to save the Kurds, perhaps even in the interest for ISJV to win this fight. Seems to be what they are doing at any rate. Could also be factoring in, "what if we charge in, and lose?"

I think somebody mentioned hammer and anvil. Turkey gets to round up Kurd hotheads and fighters, confiscate supplies.

Kurds may throw up their hands and declare an independent Kurdistan, but a new Kurdistan is going to need some protection and assurances to get started - who is going to do that, Obama? Russia? China? Otherwise I'd fear Turkey and Iran would start sending troops into their territories which the Kurdes claim, ISJV in Iraq.

#8  Remember the Warsaw uprising, and how the Russians stopped and let the Germans slaughter all those Poles, since the Russians knew they would just be a problem later? Turks see this as a Kurdish cleansing that reduces their risk of an emergent Kurdistan and the loss of eastern parts of Turkey to Kurdish statehood. Hard not to understand their logic, but harder still to not reconsider our relationship in NATO with an emergent Islamist government with great sympathy for ISIS and the idea of the Caliphate, once IS is established, then the Turks may manufacture a reason to invade, taking the IS state back of a part of the resurgent "Ottoman Empire". They have been a poor ally for a long time, and one wonders how well they are playing a long game?

#9  All the more reason to heavily arm the Kurds (artillery, tanks, plenty of ammo and small arms) in Iraq and train them well, with the tacit acceptance that much of the small arms will flow to groups in Turkey eventually. I want to make it possible for them to carry on a protracted guerilla war against the Turks in the Kurdish regions of Turkey.

We will have Turkey as an enemy sooner or later with Erdogan and the Islamists in charge. The only thing that kept the Turks oriented toward the West were the Kemalists and the military. Sadly, both are gone in terms of being able to affect policy in Turkey.

We should start planning for and acting on Turkey being an enemy. And we should do so now. Starting with ceasing any joint operated forces inside the region other than Anti-ISIS, getting all our bases out of Turkey, preparing to boot Turkey out of NATO, siding with the Greeks more (as a matter of convenience), and arming the crap out of the Kurds in preparation for them liberating SE Turkey eventually.

the US is largely talking to Turkey about other things it could do besides inserting ground forces into the fight: allowing US and coalition aircraft to fly over Turkish territory; allowing its air base in Incirlik, some 160 kilometers (100 miles) from the Syrian border, to be used by US or coalition planes or for logistics and training

#14  True - the Turks did commit Genocide - why do we treat them any differently than we would any other racist genocidal group?

#15  Aris was right.

What makes me pull my hair out is that the Turks were poised to be the big winners and they pissed it away for reasons unknown to me. Early on Turkish armor of any quantity or quality would have ended the game with a Sunni victory. But they finger sniffed, I don't get it? Hell if i can see it an Irish setter can see it.

#16  The Turks are O's bros,so he's their bff. Who cares about the rest of the people? This is what happens when a Manchurian Candidate is elected as POTUS.

#17  Perhaps the Turks are playing for time. NATO is dead and the U.S. has the bad enui. Perhaps they are building their own umbrella. It would make sense, not a lot but a little.

Sincerely yours
Al Chappeau

Syrian army repels Takfiri attack
[Iran Press TV] The Syrian army has repelled the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorists' latest attack on the Syrian Lebanese borders, killing many of them, Press TV reports.

The bandidos hard boyz in the mountainous al-Qalamoun region have stepped up their attacks to re-enter the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus.

Qalamoun was for months the scene of relentless fighting between the foreign-backed ISIL forces of Evil and the Syrian army.

The fighting ended as the Syrian army dominated the area, causing the forces of Evil to flee to the other side of the border.

In relation to the bandidos hard boyz trying to re-enter Damascus through the countryside, a Syrian army officer told the Press TV correspondent, "After careful surveillance, we located a group of forces of Evil trying to cross from the Lebanese side mountain into Syria. Our units dealt with them with suitable firearms, eliminating several of them."

On the Syrian side of the mountain, locals have joined forces with the army to protect their villages.

Referring to the bandidos hard boyz hiding in the mountains, a villager told the correspondent, "I know the paths they are using very well and I knew where they were coming from. They will try to come down here more now as winter is on their doors and it gets very cold up there."
