The special court found them guilty of "forming a terrorist cell that plotted attacks against oil pipelines... and some citizens" and disobeying the kingdom's rulers, with some of them traveling to join wars abroad.

Massive protests lasted one month until a nationwide crackdown which was backed by Saudi-led Gulf forces that rolled into Bahrain in support of the ruling al-Khalifa family in March 2011.
The defendants were also convicted of training for armed combat and possessing weapons and ammunition "in a bid to undermine security" as well as "financing terrorism," said SPA.
Their identities were not disclosed and it was unclear if their trial was linked to those of dozens accused of belonging to al-Qaeda or of involvement in the wave of unrest unleashed by holy warriors in 2003.

[Al Ahram] An attack by gunnies on Saudi police patrolling a Shiite village in oil-rich Eastern Province on Tuesday maimed one policeman and caused a pipeline to catch fire, an official said.
The patrol came under "heavy gunfire" in Awamiya, scene of past festivities between Shiite protesters and security forces in the Sunni-dominated kingdom, police front man Colonel Ziad al-Ruqaiti said.
The dawn attack triggered a "limited fire at a nearby pipeline," while a policeman was shot in his leg, he said, without specifying the significance of the pipeline.

Russian media reports say Islamic State militants, in a video posted online, have threatened to start a war in Chechnya and other provinces of Russia's north Caucasus region. The reports say the video, with a Russian translation, was posted by Al-Arabiya.
Russia's NTV channel, in its report, included an excerpt from the video. It shows a militant speaking from the cockpit of a fighter jet at a military airstrip the rebels have seized in northern Syria. The report quotes him as saying the militants plan to "free" Chechnya and the Caucasus "with the mercy of Allah."
The militants also reportedly threatened to start using jets in their attacks.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov responded he had already given an order to track down the person in the video and "send him to a place from which he will never return."
He said, "We have some good guys who can penetrate any place on the globe where bandits are threatening our country."

[Ynet] Bosnian police said Wednesday they have detained 16 people suspected of having fought in Syria and Iraq or of recruiting and funding other Balkan men to join the Islamic gunnies there.
Police said about 200 officers from a number of Bosnian law enforcement agencies were involved in an operation targeting 17 locations around the country.

A 35-year-old stateless man born in Libya, a 30-year-old Danish woman of Lebanese origin and a 50-year old Danish woman were questioned over the sale of stickers that appeared to be a spoof on the yellow ribbons which are traditionally sold to support Danish soldiers stationed overseas.

"If you said that you are doing jihad to defend the sanctities of the Moslems, then you must not transgress against them or their money or honor, and not even transgress your mujahedeen brothers by word and action," he said.
"Discord is a curse and torment, and disgrace for the believers and glory for the disbelievers," he said. "If you say that by your jihad you do not want but the pleasure of Allah, then you must not race for governance and leadership at the first opportunity."

I'm going to come out contrary on the ISIS issue.
ISIS is one of the best Muslim slaughtering machines that anyone has seen lately. True, they also cut a few western heads - but their main stock in trade is butchering Muslims. What's not to like?
Instead of attacking ISIS, we should just be making sure they are always "pointed toward" other Muslims. We should pave the way for the ISIS slaughter machine to carve a wide path through Iraq, and then through Afghanistan, and then through Pakistan - then figure out how to route them through Bangladesh, Indonesia, Brunei,and Malaysia.
Then - after they have finished offing about a billion Muslims - only then should we disassemble the Muslim slaughtering machine.
I have always felt that the West's only answer is to continually turn one Muslim group against another - then heavily arm both sides - and let them go to town. Wait until there is only one team left standing - and then go finish off those few "survivors".
It should not even take much "heavy lifting" - most Muslims - at least the influential ones - seem to harbor a natural barbaric blood-lust and hatred for anyone outside their nuclear family or tribe - and many Muslim men take special pleasure in visiting violence upon the females within their own family.
Nur Misuari's renewed declaration of Mindanao's independence and talk of "movements" by Moro National Liberation Front fighters have sparked rumors of another impending MNLF attack on the city, and security officials say they are not taking the rumors lightly.
Colonel Andrelino Colina, commander of the military-led Joint Task Group Zamboanga, said that the authorities have put in place what he called the "Guardian Shield," an elaborate security plan to protect the city from an attack similar to one the MNLF carried out in September 2013.
Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro, the city's police chief, said another reason Guardian Shield was created was to give residents a chance to "commemorate the September siege in a positive way as Zamboangueños rise from the incident with dignity."
Casimiro said, "We do not want the September 2013 incident to happen again," adding that Guardian Shield, which entailed the deployment of more troops, was seen as a "permanent defense plan for the city."
At least 140 people, including about a dozen civilians, were killed in nearly a month of fighting in the incident. Thousands of houses and other buildings were razed.
Habib Mudjahab Hashim, chairman of the MNLF Islamic Command Council, admitted receiving text messages about another plot to lay siege to the city by his colleagues in the MNLF. But he said he did not give credence to the text messages as even security officials had not verified these to be legitimate.
Hashim said he suspected that the unverified reports were being spread around by "people who would only like to sow fear and panic."
He said launching an attack was the farthest thing from the mind of Misuari, who is now more concerned about his safety. Misuari faces arrest warrants for his alleged role in the September 2013 seige. He said the reported MNLF movements may be part of gatherings to commemorate the Sept. 2, 1996 peace accord, which he described as historic for the erstwhile rebel group.

Used to be shopping for your car bomb was a spiffy, neighborly experience. You dressed up for it. Nowadays with the big box what service you get is dribble, the cashier likely knows two languages but insists on speaking what you don't, children running around unattended, and everyone's looks the same. Ah, the glory days when a boombox could mean good sound or good bodycount; now the manager just looks as puzzled as if you said cassette tape.
[An Nahar] Lebanese Army Sergeant Ali al-Sayyed, who was beheaded by jihadists after being taken captive in the northeastern border town of Arsal, was laid to rest on Wednesday.
A motorcade carrying al-Sayyed's body was transported from the military hospital in Beirut to the Akkar region before he was laid to rest in his hometown of Fnaideq.
TV footage showed the presence of gunnies as the motorcade passed through villages in Akkar.
They opened fire in the air to express their anger at the beheading.
Al-Sayyed's uncle vowed "not to remain silent until the safe return of the captives."
"You will regret this," he said.
The soldier's father urged the gunnies not to open fire.
"My son is the nation's martyr as well as the martyr of Akkar and Fnaideq," he said, expressing similar hopes on the return of the captives.
"He was betrayed by all the politicians, all of them! By parliamentarians and officials, and by the country. He was sold for a cheap price!" thundered his father at the funeral.
Al-Sayyed's body was handed over to military officials on Monday after negotiations with the fighters.
The military said Tuesday that DNA tests confirmed the body is that of al-Sayyed.
The soldier was decapitated by the bully boyz according to photos posted on social networks on August 28.
Al-Sayyed disappeared from Arsal around the time bully boyz from Syria overran Arsal early August, killing and kidnapping soldiers and coppers.
The bully boyz included fighters from the Islamic State group and the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front.
Families have demonstrated throughout Leb by cutting roads to demand the captives' release.
The Islamic State group holds roughly a third of Iraq and Syria, including several strategically important cities like Fallujah and djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... in Iraq and Raqqa in Syria.
IS has beheaded two U.S. journalists and still holds at least two other Americans hostage.
It has also threatened to behead a British hostage.

Our intelligence and counter terrorism sources disclose that the data on the two Al Qaeda groups' plans to mark the 9/11 anniversary with major attacks has been in the hands of Middle Eastern, European and US security agencies since the second week of May, i.e., five months ago.
They were also anxiously aware that Al Qaeda's top bomb-maker, Ibrahim Hassan A-Asiri, who works out of Yemen, had developed a secret explosive substance that can pass undetected through the screening devices and security measures currently in use at international airports and public places in the West and the Middle East.
Intelligence experts believe that this novel substance, when hidden in special shoes or electronic devices like iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones, can beat even tight security scrutiny. However, information has also been received about the new undetectable explosive substance being implanted in the bodies of suicide jihadists, to produce the ultimate "body bombs."
It is feared that this hazard is already in place and that a surgical procedure may have been carried out to implant it on carriers of American or European passports, at a secret clinic in Yemen or a Gulf emirate by a surgeon dedicated to the radical Islamist cause. These human bombs will have been able to travel through Jordan or Iraq through Turkey to their targeted destinations. Such carriers of invisible bombs may be Americans, Belgians, Britons, Australians, French citizens or Germans, and already on standby for the prearranged signal to push a certain button and demolish a selected target.
The novel invention has made it infinitely easier for terrorists to move around and approach their targets, unnoticed and without arousing suspicion.
Prime Minister Cameron has woken up to the peril. He announced Tuesday, Sept. 22, he would ask parliament to urgently approve sweeping legislation to combat the "scourge of extremism" - including the power to seize passports of an estimated 500 British Muslims known to be frequent travelers to Turkey, Syria and Iraq and strongly suspected of identifying with Al Qaeda's jihadist ideology.
