Al Shabaab attempted attack on popular Sheikh
MOGADISHU – Somali Federal Government (SFG) Minister of Information Abdullahi Ilmooge Hersi accused Al Shabaab of carrying out an assassination attempt on Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Salaad Director of the Somali Islamic Scholars , Garowe Online reports.

Minister Abdullahi assured the public in a press statement on Wednesday that the SFG would do everything in its power to protect Somali Islamic scholars. He added that Al Shabaab, were targeting Somali religious leaders in order to push their ideology on the masses.

On Monday, Sheikh Bashir narrowly escaped an assassination attempt after a bomb was placed on his vehicle and detonated as he was driving in Taleh neighbourhood located in Hodan district in Mogadishu.

Sheikh Bashir accused Al Shabaab for the attack on his life and said that he would be steadfast in his preaching of Islam.

Pro Al Shabaab websites suggested Sheikh Bashir set up the attack on his own life, a statement strongly denied by officials in the Somali Islamic Scholars. Al Shabaab has neither denied nor confirmed the attack on Sheikh Bashir.

Al-Shabaab executes woman for spying
MOGADISHU - The Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group Al-Shabaab, executed a woman on Monday, in the rebel-held Bulo-Burte town, Hiraan region after allegedly spying for Somalia’s National Security Agency (SNSA), Garowe Online reports.

Ayan Mohamud Aseyr, a 20 year old, was publicly executed at a main square by a firing squad. According to local sources, hundreds of local residents flocked to the execution site, after the terrorist group publicized the execution on loudspeakers throughout the town.

“It [execution] was full of tears and sorrow," said a resident, who spoke to Garowe Online on condition of anonymity and witnessed the execution.

The chief judge of the Al-Shabaab court in Hiraan region said at a public gathering that after a long investigation they recognized that the woman had been spying for the government intelligence agency.

“The woman has led to the killing of seven local and foreign Jihadists in their strongholds in south and central Somalia,” said the judge, adding that they will not hesitate to deal with people found working with the Somali government and AU forces in the country.

Ayan Mohamud Aseyr was kidnapped from a vehicle by Al Shabaab agents on her way from Mogadishu to the central town of Beledweyne – the capital of Hiraan region - located some 206 miles (332 km) north of Mogadishu.

N. Korea behind cyber attack: SK
The South Korean government Wednesday confirmed that North Korea was behind the March 20 cyber attack that paralyzed computer networks at banks and broadcasters.

"The series of cyber attacks last month resembled North Korea's past hacking patterns," the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning said at a press briefing. "Evidences (showed) that North Korea's reconnaissance general bureau did the act."

On March 20, computer networks at three banks and three broadcasters suffered the cyber attack, crippling about 48,700 PCs and servers, reported Xinhua. On March 25, there was an attempt to hack PCs of the ordinary people, while computer files at the broadcaster YTN's 58 PCs were destroyed and data at anti-North Korean organizations' homepage were deleted the following day.

Based on 76 malicious codes used for the hacking and Internet access records collected, the March cyber attack was planned at least eight months ago by indirectly planting malware in advance, according to the probe results by the government-led investigation team.

The investigation team found that six PCs in North Korea directly or indirectly accessed the infected computers some 1,590 times, among which Internet Protocol (IP) address linked directly to North Korea was spotted 13 times.

Policeman killed in attack on polio team
PESHAWAR: A policeman was shot dead and another was wounded on Wednesday while escorting a polio vaccination team in Mardan, local officials said. The polio campaigner remained safe in the attack, according to the police.

“Some unidentified armed men opened fire on policemen guarding the polio team in Mosam Koruna area in Mardan, leaving one police personnel dead and another wounded,” the police told media in Mardan.

The wounded cop was rushed to the nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

Attacks on polio teams in Mardan have left several cops and aid workers dead in the recent past. No one has claimed responsibility for the killings, but the Pakistani Taliban last year banned polio vaccinations in the tribal region of Waziristan, alleging the campaign was a cover for espionage.

Wednesday’s killing happened in the Parhoti neighbourhood of Mardan on the second day of a three-day local anti-polio campaign.

“One policeman was killed and other was wounded when two armed men riding a motorbike opened fire on the team comprising two females and one male member,” senior local police official, Tahir Ayub told AFP.

Taibe Resident Indicted After He Joins Syrian Rebels
[Ynet] Indictment against 29-year-old Hakmat Matzrawa from Taibe describes how he joined a group of rebels fighting Assad. Shin Bet claims rebels questioned him about IDF, Dimona reactor

Last February, Hechmat Matzrawa, 29, of Taibe, left Israel for Syria, with the intention of joining up with rebels fighting forces of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
He spent a week with the rebels, expressing a desire to participate in military maneuvers, assisting in establishing a military camp, and training with weapons. This is described in the indictment filed against him on Wednesday. The prosecutor's office has charged Matzrawa with contact with an enemy agent, illegal exit from the country, and forbidden military activity. He denies the charges.

In a joint operation of the Shin Bet and the Central Unit of the Police Central District, Matzrawa was placed in durance vile
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
at Ben Gurion Airport on March 19, upon his return to Israel. The Shin Bet said that rebels questioned him regarding Israel and the IDF, with most of the questions centering on types of weapons used by the IDF and questions regarding the Dimona reactor.

The indictment which was filed in Lod District Court by attorney Roy Reiss of the Central District Prosecutor's Office, claimed that the young man from Taibe snuck into Syria via the border with Turkey, motivated by ideology and in order to track down his brother who had apparently snuck into Syria himself.

It was also reported that "the accused was asked by the rebels to carry out a suicide kaboom on the border with Israel and refused, and he knew the group was interested in carrying out an attack against Israel, but he did not cut ties with them."

According to the indictment, "On the 17 of March, when the limited military activity in the area did not meet his combat expectations, and since he had not found his brother, and due to pressure from family members in Israel, he left the rebel unit and returned to the border with Turkey. Two days later, he flew back to Israel and was arrested.

The Accusations are a Lie
'My son did not make any contact with rebels," said Otman Matzrawa, father of the accused, to Ynet. "The indictment is a baseless."

Otman said that his son traveled to Turkey without telling any other family members, in order to "find his brother who had been in Syria for several months. It is natural that someone from the family would want to look for my son, when no one knows anything about his whereabouts." The father added, "My son is a clean and respectable person, on the day that he arrived in Turkey, he called us and said that he had begun searching for his brother and had paid money to people with the goal of helping in the search. He did not tell us that he had made contact with rebels."

Otman said that after a few days, his son called again, saying that he had run out of money. He asked that they send him $700 via bank transfer so that he could return to Israel. "We sent the money and when he returned, he was arrested. It seems the Shin Bet wants to punish my son after not succeeding in returning my second son who is missing in Syria. I do not know what they will do to my second son, should he return."

Otman said that his family is "very tense, we do not know how to deal with this. We ask for our son to be released, he did not make any mistakes, and he did not do or think to do anything that will threaten the security of the state of Israel."

"My client denies the charges in the indictment," attorney Halal Jabad said to Ynet. "His goal was to find information on his brother, who has been missing for 6 months and he and no intention of hurting the security of Israel." He added, "The accused went into Syrian territory on foot and met some rebels, they wanted to recruit him, he said he was not interested, that he was there with the goal of finding his brother and bringing him back to Israel."

'He will want to fulfill his plans'
The prosecutor filed a request to extend the remand of the accused through the end of proceedings against him because they believe he will try to repeat his actions.

Attorney Reiss said, "The serious charges which stand against Matzrawa on the basis of his prior communication with the rebels in Syria, will serve as a strong motivation for him to connect with them again. Additionally, they are part of what allows him to complete his original plan, and evade the judicial system."

The Shin Bet said they view the travel of Israeli Arabs to Syria as a dangerous phenomena to the security of the state. This puts them in the Syrian front, which exposes them to global jihad activists. When Israeli Arabs are exposed to this anti-Israel extremism, there is a danger that they will be taken advantage of by terror organizations

Southeast Asia
Two Thai rangers killed in violence across Pattani
A trawler was damaged by a bomb and six other locations in Pattani province were hit by violence on Wednesday night, killing two military rangers.

A fishing boat at a pier in Muang district was bombed after 8 p.m. but no injuries were reported. A witness saw people believed to be terrorists insurgents approach the trawler in a small boat and plant a bomb at the rear of the vessel.

Terrorists Militants were also behind incidents in Kapho, Panare, Khok Pho, Yarang and Sai Buri districts, with apparently coordinated attacks around 8 p.m.

Suspected terrorists insurgents attacked a defense volunteers base in Kapo and a community center in Panare. A vocational training center in Sai Buri municipality and a public telephone booth in front of the Panare post office were burned.

Two rangers, one of them a lieutenant, were killed by terrorists insurgents during the attack on the community center in Panare.

Violence has intensified in the region since peace talks began, with officials specifically targeted. Terrorists Insurgents last week killed Yala deputy governor and the province's assistant governor. The two were killed by a roadside bomb attack on Friday.

The deaths raise doubts about Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) representatives' ability to direct terrorists militants in the region to ease their attacks as a show of their intention to end the violence.

Bomb Targeting Hezbollah Found In Beirut
[Jpost] Bomb was safely disposed of; had al-Qaeda linked group al-Nusra's signature with anti-Hezbollah, anti-Syria statements.

A bomb discovered in the Hezbollah stronghold of south Beirut on Wednesday reflected the increasing spillover of the Syrian war into Leb.

The bomb had writing on it that included the signature of the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front along with anti-Hezbollah and anti-Syrian statements, according to Leb's Daily Star.

Hezbollah blocked off the area and disposed of the bomb, preventing security forces from reaching the scene, the report said.

In Syria on Tuesday, 12 Hezbollah members were killed in an ambush near Damascus
...Capital of the last overtly fascist regime in the world...
, Al-Arabiya TV reported.

Sources close to the Lebanese terrorist organization said the attack maimed more than 20 fighters and they were transferred to a hospital in south Beirut.

This follows a steady stream of reports that Hezbollah is involved in the fighting in Syria in an effort to defend the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Leveler of Latakia...
Also on Tuesday, the Future Movement in Leb, headed by MP Saad Hariri
Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.
, the younger son of the assassinated former prime minister Rafik Hariri and the main member of the anti-Hezbollah March 14 Alliance, criticized the terrorist groups involvement in Syria.

"We condemn the increase in the number of Lebanese dead in Syria as a result of the continuing involvement of Hezbollah in the fighting," the Future Movement said, as quoted by the Daily Star.

The statement went on, "[Hezbollah] has endorsed a new role for its arms in line with regional plans and away from the Lebanese national interest."

Hezbollah has made efforts over the past years to appear as a Lebanese national movement, to appeal to the masses and downplay its Islamic and Iranian associations. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
by increasing its role in Syria to prop up Assad, the Shi'ite movement risks exposing itself to criticism that it does not act in the interests of Lebanese.

Leb has a history of parties and ethnic groups acting in their own interests rather than in the interests of the state.

The Future Movement statement also complained over the continued shelling of Lebanese territory by the Syrian army.

"Such involvement associates Leb with a number of dangers and further hurts the image of Hezbollah, which has distanced itself from its primary [purpose, which is] leading a resistance against the Israeli enemy," MP Atef Majdalani of the Future Movement said.

On Monday, two Hezbollah fighters were killed alongside Syrian forces in the village of al-Qasayr near the Lebanese border, AFP reported.
