ANP troops kill ten terrorists
[Maghrebia] Algerian soldiers on Friday (December 10th) killed ten snuffies in the Sidi Ali Bounab forest, on the border between Tizi-Ouzou and corpse-littered Boumerdes provinces, Tout sur l'Algerie reported. Some 4,000 troops on Thursday launched an operation to besiege a secret al-Qaeda gathering. Several AQIM emirs, including those of al-Ansar brigade, terrorist groups of Draa El Mirzan, Mizrana and Beni Douala, as well as AQIM leader Abdelmalek Droukdel, were expected at the conclave aimed at restructuring former al-Qaeda cells in Kabylie. Security services were reportedly taking DNA samples for identification purposes from the families of Droukdel and other terrorists.

Terrorists booby trapped a box of pastries with explosives in Boumerdes
The Case of the Exploding Donuts is solved...
[Ennahar] The security services have recently managed to dismantle a terrorist support and logistics group, consisting of 8 elements, two of whom were involved in offering a box of pastries, filled with explosives, to police services a week ago, in the region of Ain El Hamra, Bordj Ménaïl (corpse-littered Boumerdes) on the passage of a wedding procession.
Watch 'em, Mahmoud...Hey! Doughnuts!
According to corroborating sources, an armed terrorist group, activating probably within the phalanx Al Ansar, had trapped a box of pastries with explosives and sent two of its elements, from the town of Cap Djinet, to offer it to the elements of the gendarmerie at a security checkpoint in the region of Ain El Hamra.
You'd think police and pastries are just a Western joke but no ...
The two group members mingled in the procession, and upon arrival at the security checkpoint, one of them offered the box of pastry to a policeman who, suspecting something had put the box aside. The bomb went kaboom! without causing casualties. The terrorist, aged 26, was jugged and led to the arrest of six other support members to terrorism, all from the villages of Cap Djinet, Ain El Hamra and Ben Ouali.

Extensive search operations are ongoing in many parts of the province of corpse-littered Boumerdes and other central areas like Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, since last Thursday, especially after the theft of four vehicles branded "Kangoo" and "Chevrolet" in Zemouri last week by unknown groups, raising fears, according to our sources, of suicide car boom

#2  Actualy, while one of the older tricks in the book, the booby-trapped gift can be very effective.

Here in the U.S., I would suggest donuts laced with warafin or a similar anti-coagulant.

Explosives would be less effective.

Five Injured as Bus Comes Under Fire in Dhale
When you don't stop at the checkpoint probably somebody's gonna open fire at you. If you don't know whether the checkpoint's manned by good guys or bad guyz you've got a real problem.
But on tv or in the movies the checkpointers scatter when faced with a vehicle that speeds up rather than slows down. I know it's true 'cause I saw it last night on the new Hawaii Five-O!
[Yemen Post] At least five people were maimed when a passenger bus came under fire at a gate of Yemen's southern Dhale province on Sunday.

There were conflicting reports on the incident, with some saying the driver refused to stop for inspection at a checkpoint in Al-Azariq area, forcing the police to fire at the bus coming from Aden and bound to downtown Dhale where rioting has started again.

Other reports said separatists were behind the fire, but the motive was unclear. The casualties were aged between 18-25 years.

Apart from the incident, a demonstration was staged today in the province with hundreds of people chanting anti-regime slogans and condemning the death sentence handed down Saturday to the main suspect in the bombings of Al-Wahda Sports Club in Aden.

The demonstrators also carried the photos of Faris Saleh who the authorities said had planned and carried out the bombings that killed four and injured several others in late October.

In response the backlash sparked by the verdict, the authorities are tightening security at the province's gates. On Saturday, the tribe of Faris and his brother, who was given a five-year sentence on accomplice charges, kidnapped seven soldiers in Lahj and Dhale, in protest against the verdict described as unfair.

Three more soldiers were also taken hostage today to pressure the authorities to overturn the verdict and release the two brothers.

The Yemeni government has intensified security operations and against gunnies groups after six soldiers had been kidnapped by bully boy groups in Al-Dale province earlier this week.

Bangladesh
Huji training camp busted
HuJI continues to find life tougher than it was under the Khaleda Zia's government...
[Bangla Daily Star] The Rapid Action Battalion busted a hilltop training camp of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (Huji) in Chittagong early yesterday and held five leaders of the banned krazed killer outfit with some training materials and explosives.

The nabbed HuJI
HuJI was founded in 1984 by Fazlur Rehman Khalil and Qari Saifullah Aktar. The Bangla branch was established in 1992 with assistance from Osama bin Laden. Recruits come mostly from Deobandi madrassahs.

operatives admitted to Rab of running training in the hilly areas for the last few months, sending a chilling message to the law enforcers that the outfit which is responsible for major deadly attacks in the country rears its head again.

Although a good number of Huji top tier leaders are still on the run, the law enforcers have been assuming that the outfit has no strength to continue its subversive activities.

Inspector General of Police Hassan Mahmood Khandker said they have jugged many such elements, but many are still on the lam and active.

"We are continuously after gunnies and hooligans and hopefully we would be able to arrest others who are still evading arrest," he told The Daily Star.

The Huji set up training camps in the remote hilly forest areas in early 1990s and ran those till the crackdown after the August 17 serial blasts in 2005.

Following an intelligence report the Rab members first captured Mahfuzul Rahman alias Apu, 29, of Mymensingh at Amanbazar in Hathazari upazila around 4:30pm on Sunday. Acting on information he gave, the elite force raided the makeshift bamboo-made training facility at a hilly rubber garden at Godarpar near Kaokhali in Raozan.

After a brief shootout, the crime busters jugged four more Huji activists at the camp. They are Abul Farah Rumman, 30, of Mymensingh, Abul Kalam, 45, of Jamalpur, Salauddin Hussaini Bhuiyan, 37, of Chittagong and Md Abdullah Al Amin, 31, of Pabna.

The Rab also seized 11 live cocktails, two kilograms of kabooms needed for bombs and grenades, bomb-making manuals in Arabic language, electric circuits, adaptors, fuses and booklets written by ex-Jamaat leader Golam Azam and incumbent Jamaat chief Motiur Rahman Nizami.

Spider senses tingling at the proximity of Rab the Huji men opened fire and started hurling cocktails on them. The law enforcers also retaliated that triggered a "shootout".

With the help of around 100 locals who gathered there hearing the gunshots, the Rab members held four Huji men, while around 20 others managed to beat feet.
said Maj Syed Ali Ashfak who led the operation.

According to the Rab officials, Rumman had earlier worked as an instructor in different areas to organise Jihad activities. He has been living in Hathazari for last few months to recruit members for the banned organisation from different madrasas.

Rumman who is also an IT specialist took training in arms at 10 stages at Mirerhat of Hathazari, Dhuler Char of Tangail, Sylhet, Bhaluka of Mymensingh in last few years and gave training to over 1,000 new Huji members.

Al Amin, after completing studies at Hathazari Boro Madrasa in 1995, got involved with Huji and took training at Rorar Char of Mymensingh, Dhuler Char of Tangail and at Hathazari.

Arrested Hussaini who passed Dakhil from Naduary Kamil Madrasa and studied at Mohammadpur Sat Mashjid Madrasa in Dhaka was the coordinator of Rangan Shilpi Goshthy and worked as Huji's publications secretary.

Rab-7 Commanding Officer Lt Col Sazzad Hussain told The Daily Star that they had earlier got information about secret movement and activities of Huji members at Hathazari, Raozan and Banshkhali and kept keen monitoring on those areas for last couple of months.

He said they have information of secret Huji activities in remote hilly areas of Hathazari, Raozan, Banshkhali, Satkania of Chittagong, Chakaria of Cox's Bazar and Vedbedi of Rangamati.

One killed in 'shootout' with Rab
[Bangla Daily Star] An alleged criminal was killed in a "shootout" between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion men at Kafrul in the city early yesterday.
"Doctor Quincy to the white courtesy phone!"
The dear departed, Shaheed, alias Jamai Shaheed, 26, was accused in three cases including two on murder charges, said police.
"He had the death sentence on twelve systems!"
What was the other thing we had him on, Mr. Deputy Administrative Sub Inspector In Charge?
Says here it was...dancing with a mailman.

Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kafrul Police Station, said a patrol of Rab-4 challenged Shaheed and his gang when they were roaming around Baishteki area around 2:00am.
"Here, you gangsters! Cease what you're doing and desist!"
The gang opened fire on the Rab men, prompting them to retaliate.
[BANG! BANG! BANGETY BANG!]

Shaheed came in the line of fire
The line between the muzzle of the gun against the back of his ear and the middle of his forehead ...
while the others managed to flee, added the OC.
As though they'd never been...
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital
Not a Level I trauma center, not that it matters for our hero ...
where the attending doctors declared him dead.
He's dead, Jim!
Rab officials said they recovered a pistol from his possession.
"Go ahead, Sergeant Rafiq! Pry it from his cold, dead fingers! He'd have wanted it that way!"
Achhia Begum, wife of the dear departed, said her husband was missing since he went out on Sunday morning responding to a phone call.
"Hello? Hello? Shaheed? Dis is Mahmoud!"
"Mahmoud! How are you, you old weasel?"

Youse still got dat shuttergun?
What's a shuttergun?
Youse know what I means..
Who is this?

Shaheed was on bail in several cases filed against him, she added. She also claimed her family shifted to Savar from Bhasantek of city's Kafrul to start a normal life.
"Or as normal a life as a body could expect when her husband's skulking around at 2 a.m."
Shaheed, can't we just get out of this life? Move to Savar, become a regional leader in the Purbo Banglar Communist Party or sumthin and start over?
Dammit, woman! Don't try to change me!!

Abdur Rahim, father of the dear departed, said locals of Bhasantek used to call his son 'Jamai' as he had a relationship with a girl there eight years ago.
"Aye. She war a sweet girl, she war. And pretty, too, until he threw acid in her face."

Europe
Police search property in Stockholm bomb probe
Yet another Muslim attempts to do damage to native European infidels over some stoopid slight that left him all huffy. Just by coincidence he's associated with yet another Islamic ghetto. And yet another Europol keeps looking for reasons why it's not really an act of terror by an Islamic colonist.
(KUNA) -- British Police were searching a property in Luton, outside London, Monday as part of a probe into a suspected suicide car booming in Sweden at the weekend, it was announced here.

Metropolitan Police officers said they started examining the house last night, after a warrant was issued under the Terrorism Act 2000.

A property in the Bedfordshire town was cordoned off today, with officers seen going in and out.

The UK police operation follows last Saturday's blast in a busy Stockholm street and subsequent reports that a man killed by the blast lived in Luton and studied at the University of Bedfordshire. He has been named in several reports as Iraqi-born Swede Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, 28. He apparently went kaboom!" as he tried to set off a car boom in the Swedish capital, wounding two other people. Al-Abdaly listed himself on Mohammedan dating website "Mohammedana" as a physical therapy graduate from Bedfordshire University.

According to The Daily Telegraph newspaper today, he lived in Luton and neighbours last saw him two and a half weeks ago. Tahir Hussain, 33, a taxi driver who lives nearby, told the paper: "I used to see him around often. He didn't say much but seemed nice. I used to see him walking with his kids. I was shocked when I heard what happened because I never thought he could do such a thing."

More than 250 people have joined a group set up on Facebook titled "RIP Taimour Abdulwahab our brother and friend".

Scotland Yard said: "Late last night, Metropolitan Police officers executed a search warrant under the Terrorism Act 2000 at an address in Bedfordshire. No arrests have been made and no hazardous materials found."

Al-Abdaly was apparently looking for a second wife. He wrote on Muslima that he was born in Storied Baghdad and moved to Sweden in 1992 before coming to the UK in 2001. He said he was married in 2004 and had two maidens of tender years.

"I want to get married again, and would like to have a big family. My wife agreed to this," he wrote. He said he was looking for a practising Sunni Mohammedan who loves children and "wants to please Allah before me".

He described himself as economically "OK" and said that when he had extra money he gave it to the needy. "In the future, am looking for to move to an Arabic country and settle down there..." al-Abdaly added.

Bedfordshire University was not available to comment last night. A Home Office front man said: "We remain in close contact with the Swedish authorities. It would be inappropriate to comment on their ongoing investigation at this time."

The suspected bomber was the only fatality caused by the attack on Saturday night although two people were maimed. Experts said the bomber probably did not succeed in detonating all the explosives and could have caused much greater damage.

Sweden had never experienced a suicide kaboom and has not had a terrorist attack since the 1970s. Prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said the attack was "unacceptable".
How much you wanta bet they're gonna end up "accepting" it?
He said: "Sweden is an open society... which has stated a wish that people should be able to have different.

[The Nation (Nairobi)] A bomb struck a Pak school bus, killing a mechanic and wounding two children as they were being dropped home after class in the northwestern city of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar, police said.

It was the fifth bombing in Pakistain since last Monday as the nuclear-armed country steps up security for the holy month of Muharram, which typically sees a rise in sectarian tensions and attacks on Shiite Mohammedan religious parades.

The kaboom destroyed the congested Bhana Marri area on the outskirts of Peshawar, a city that runs into Pakistain's lawless tribal belt that Washington brands the most dangerous region in the world and an Al-Qaeda hub.

Police said initially that the bus driver was killed, but later identified the dead man as a mechanic whose workshop was nearby. The driver was among up to four people treated for injuries after the attack.

"My house was nearby and I was standing up to get down when there was a deafening kaboom. I saw a fireball and heard the kaboom. I didn't know what happened after that," said nine-year-old Imam Gulzar.

The fourth-grader spoke to AFP at Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital, where she was being treated for minor injuries.

The windows of the bus from the Islamia Model School -- a fee-paying English-language school -- were punched out in the blast.

Gunmen kill two policemen in Charsadda
The usual suspects. Capone's watching in from his seat next to Himmler by the fire and saying "Damn, those boyz are good!"
[Dawn] Gunmen rubbed out two Pak coppers on Monday, the second double shooting of coppers in two days, police said.

Taseer Khan, 30, and Derwaish Khan, 43, who were brothers, were ambushed as they were driving to work on a cycle of violence in the Charsadda district of northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
province, police said. They died instantly.

"They had no personal enmity. Both brothers were in uniform and were coming on duty. They keeled over dead," Nisar Khan Marwat, Charsadda district police chief, told AFP.

The officer said the attackers decamped the scene after the ambush.

Gunmen similarly killed two coppers on Saturday in Hayatabad, on the outskirts of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar and next to Khyber district, part of Pakistain's tribal belt.

Pak intelligence officials blamed the attack on the Taliban.

Security has been stepped up across Pakistain and in the country's northwest in particular, to prevent attacks marring Muharram, the first month of the new Islamic year.

Embattled Christians ask Indonesian president for protection
[Dawn] Indonesian Christians appealed to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for protection on Monday after Mohammedan vigilante groups, backed by police, surrounded their homes and forced them to leave.

More than 100 members of the Batak Christian Protestant Church (HKBP) were forced to evacuate seven houses in Rancaekek Wetan village outside Jakarta on Sunday as Mohammedans staged angry protests over unauthorised religious services.

The Christians say they have been forced to hold services inside their homes because the local government has repeatedly knocked back and ignored requests to approve a church or authorise another venue for their place of worship.

The protesters included members of violent vigilante groups which have close ties to the security forces in the Mohammedan-majority country.

"The situation was quite tense yesterday. If we didn't ask them (the Christians) to leave, there would have been bad consequences. We tried to avoid any destruction or physical attacks," local police chief Hendro Pandowo said.

"They don't have any permit to use the houses as places of worship. We can't arrest (the Mohammedans) as they got a permit to hold the protest."

"If the place was legally designated as a church, we'd provide security protection. Otherwise, we can't do much as it's against the law."

HKBP Reverend Hutagalung said the Christians would continue to worship in their houses and urged Yudhoyono to uphold religious freedoms enshrined in the country's constitution.

"We'll continue to worship there whatever the consequences," he told AFP.

"We want President Yudhoyono to give us a guarantee that we'll be able to practise our faith freely without any intimidation from other groups."

Sunday's incident is the latest in a series of confrontations between Protestants and Mohammedans in the Bandung and Bekasi areas near Jakarta in recent months, including the stabbing and beating up of church leaders.

The unresolved tensions -- and Yudhoyono's failure to rein in violent thug groups -- have undermined the country's reputation for tolerance which US President Barack B.O. Obama held up as "Indonesia's example to the world" during a visit in October.

#2  Freedom of religion is not a strong point in Islamic Countries.

How about we make a deal where Muslim countries only accept muslim immigrants and Christian countries only accept Christian immigrants. This would make UK/US safer!

Apparently he forgot about the massacres of Christians in Ambon in 2005-2006. Or was he hailing that as an example to the world?

#4  US President Barack B.O. Obama held up as "Indonesia's example to the world"

So according to Obumbles - lopping off the heads of 4 christian girls in cold blood for the crime of being christian (and only giving the killers 15 years with time off for muslim Holidays) is a good example.
