Abu Muslim al-Turkmani: From Iraqi officer to slain ISIS deputy
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Fadel Abdullah al-Hiyali, aka Abu Muslim al-Turkmani who U.S. officials say was killed in recent anti-ISIS air strikes, was reportedly a former Iraqi officer under Saddam Hussein and had served time in a U.S.-run prison before becoming “the right hand man” of Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the militant group’s leader.

U.S. Army General Martin Dempsey told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday that three senior ISIS leaders were terminated by anti-ISIS coalition air strikes between November and December.

The newspaper, quoting unidentified officials, said Turkmani and Abd al Basit, described as the head of ISIS military operations in Iraq, were killed in the strikes between Dec. 3 to Dec. 9. Radwin Talib, who was the ISIS governor in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, was killed in late November.

Al-Turkmani, also known as Haji Mutazz, reportedly served as a deputy to Baghdadi, the self-styled "caliph" of ISIS which seized large swathes of Iraq and Syria earlier this year that prompted a U.S.-led coalition military response.

Al-Turkmani was apparently in charge of overseeing Iraqi provinces under ISIS and was a close aide to Baghdadi, according to documents seized by Iraqi forces following a raid on an ISIS member's house earlier this year.

The documents, which illustrated the leadership structure under Baghdadi, showed al-Turkmani as the second in command.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
there have been conflicting reports over his seniority in the ISIS leadership structure.

U.S. officials quoted by ABC news described him as "the right-hand man" of Baghdadi. A U.S. intelligence source told CBS News that Turkmani, "though not the 'No. 2 of ISIS as commonly reported, was a very high-ranking and significant figure in the group, particularly in Iraq."

Al-Turkmani reportedly hailed from the northern Iraqi town of Tal Afar, which is located along a strategic corridor to Syria and is considered home to mostly ethnic Shiite and Sunni Turkmen.

He reportedly served as a former lieutenant colonel in the Iraqi army under Saddam Hussein. He later joined an Iraqi insurgency following the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq and apparently served in a U.S.-run prison before joining ISIS.

The U.S. Defense Department told CBS News that Turkmani and Talib, the other ISIS figure killed in the December strikes, "were once prisoners at Camp Bucca, a U.S. prison in Iraq."

"At least 12 of ISIS's brass hats, including leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, served time there," the department said.

So far, ISIS has not released statements confirming the death of Turkmani on any of its social media accounts.

According to the Long War Journal, a respected counter-terrorism blog, Turkmani is considered the senior most ISIS leader killed in Iraq and Syria since the death of the group's military emir Abu Abdulrahman al Bilawi, and Baghdadi's deputy Samir al Khlifawi, in January 2014.

Earlier in November, it was reported that al-Turkmani was killed in an air strike that was said to have "fatally maimed" ISIS leader Baghdadi.

In early November, tribal sources told Al Arabiya News Channel that Baghdadi was maimed in an air strike in Iraq.

At the time, the United States said it could not confirm whether Baghdadi was maimed in U.S.-led Arclight airstrikes on the group in Iraq.

Three Soldiers Killed in Yemen 'Qaida' Bomb Attack
[AnNahar] A suspected al-Qaeda kaboom killed three Yemeni soldiers and maimed five others Friday, a military source said, the second attack in days on security forces in Yemen's southeastern Hadramawt province.

An bomb planted in the town of Seyun exploded remotely as a vehicle carrying army personnel passed by, the source said.

Three soldiers were killed on Wednesday in a similar bombing west of Seyun.

Security forces are often the target of deadly attacks, which are usually blamed on al-Qaeda Death Eaters, who are active in the violence-wracked country.

Ansarullah militants making ‘drones’
[Dhaka Tribune] Detectives said they have busted a turban hideout in Jatrabari of the capital where members of radical Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) were working to produce drones with a view to launching "deadly attacks" on key installations carrying explosives, and detained two youths.

"After being successful in their experiment that ran for nearly six months, the detained Ansarullah members were at the final stage of their planning to make real drones," Monirul Islam, joint commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police, said yesterday.

The forces of Evil needed around Tk50 lakh to make the real drones ‐ unmanned remote-controlled aircrafts extensively used by the US targeting forces of Evil in Pakistain.

Woman caught with bomb in Kiev
The SBU beat the hell out of her as well.
On December 19, members of the Ukrainian SBU arrested a suspected saboteur in central Kyiv who, acting under instructions of her Russian superiors, had transported a powerful bomb from Luhansk under control of Russian-backed militants from the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic.” She was picked up in Kyiv’s busy center just after she left the handbag with the bomb inside, reported Markian Lubkivsky, senior adviser to the SBU, on his Facebook page.

Turkey issues arrest warrant for Erdogan foe Gulen
There can be only one.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Turkey has issued an arrest warrant for U.S.-based Moslem holy man Fethullah Gulen, who President Tayyip Erdogan accuses of seeking to overthrow him, state broadcaster TRT Haber reported on Friday.

Guen, who has lived in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania since 1999, has been in open conflict with Erdogan since graft investigations targeting the then-prime minister's inner circle a year ago.

Erdogan blamed the investigation on Gulen, but the holy man denied involvement.

UN asks Israel to pay Lebanon $850 millions for oil spill
[IsraelTimes] The U.N. General Assembly
...the powerless place where countries go to jointly register disapproval of Israel...
has overwhelmingly approved a resolution asking Israel to pay Leb over $850 million in damages for an oil spill caused by an Israeli air force attack on oil storage tanks during its war with Hezbollah in July 2006.

The assembly voted 170-6 in favor of the nonbinding resolution, with three abstentions. Israel, the United States, Canada, Australia, Micronesia and Marshall Islands voted ?no.?

The resolution says ?the environmental disaster? caused by the destruction of the tanks resulted in an oil slick that covered the entire Lebanese coastline and extended to the Syrian coastline, causing extensive pollution.

The assembly acknowledged the conclusions in a report by Secretary-General the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon
... of whom it can be said to his credit that he is not Kofi Annan...
that studies show the value of damage to Leb amounted to $856.4 million in 2014.

The mission said the decision was typical of the General Assembly and is “part of many other decisions we are used to from the UN.”

“It’s made up of a known recipe of alternative history, manipulation, a large dose of politicization and a narrow view on the part of interest groups,” the Israeli mission said in a statement.

“The UN never bothered to check what the war cost Israel in damages and did not mention that the war broke out in response to the operation by the terror group Hezbollah,” the statement went on.

Death Eaters, as well as other logistics problems, are delaying the evacuation of the last Yazidis still trapped on Sinjar mountain, an Iraqi politician said Friday.

Fighting was still underway near the mountain, said politician Mahma Khalil, himself a member of Iraq?s minority Yazidis. He also cited the need to plan and prepare for logistics and transportation, as other reasons for the delay.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
the Kurdish peshmerga fighters were able to ease the plight of the thousands of Yazidis still trapped on Mt. Sinjar and delivered a substantial amount of food and supplies to them.

The delivery was made possible after the peshmerga?s battlefield advance on Thursday, when the Kurdish fighters managed to retake some ground lost in the summer to Islamic State snuffies and opened up a corridor to the mountain.

The development was an incremental step in the battle to retake the town of Sinjar, at the foothills of the mountain by the same name, which fell to the Islamic State group in early August.

The Kurdish peshmerga troops, backed by US-led coalition Arclight airstrikes, launched the operation to retake Sinjar on Wednesday.

?The situation of these trapped people is better now, with the fresh supplies and we hope to evacuate them as soon as possible,? Khalil told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

Israeli aircraft strike Gaza targets after rocket attack
[IsraelTimes] The Israel Air Force on Friday night struck Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, targets in the southern Gazoo Strip for the first time since the summer?s war.

The air force reportedly struck a Hamas training ground near Khan Yunis.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Gazoo residents reported low-flying Israeli aircraft over the Paleostinian enclave and multiple Arclight airstrikes. Unconfirmed reports indicated Israeli warships may also have shelled the Gazoo Strip.

A front man for Gazoo?s Hamas-run Health Ministry said there were no casualties in the attack, the first air strike by Israel on the Paleostinian enclave since the summer truce that ended the 50-day war between the sides.

The IDF Spokesperson?s Unit said in a statement that Israeli planes ?struck Hamas terror infrastructure site in the southern Gazoo Strip? in response to Friday?s rocket attack, and that a direct was confirmed.

?The IDF will not permit any attempt to undermine the security and jeopardize the well being of the civilians of Israel,? Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said. ?The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible and accountable for today?s attack against Israel.?

Friday night?s Arclight airstrike came following a rocket attack on southern Israel on Friday afternoon. Paleostinians in Gazoo fired a Kassam rocket at an Israeli community in the Eshkol region near the Gazoo Strip, causing neither casualties nor damage.

It was the third time that Gazoo snuffies have fired rockets at Israel since the conclusion of Operation Protective Edge, last summer?s war between Israel and Hamas in the Gazoo Strip.

IDF soldiers swept the area Friday and found the remains of the rocket.

#3  Israel never does ENOUGH damage to make the people rise up against Hamass. They need to totally level Gaza, make it look like Hamburg after WWII - no two-story or higher building left standing. Israel has the capacity to turn several civilian-designed aircraft into bombers. They need a fleet of about 20, I think, and each aircraft fly multiple sorties. When the UN complains, tell them the next sortie will be over New York, with only one building being targeted. Israel has put up with this sh$$ constantly since 1947. It's time it stopped, once and for all. Destroying Gaza would tell the rest of the Arabs the Israelis aren't going to play nice any longer.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
IS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit
The Islamic State extremist group has executed 100 of its own foreign fighters who tried to flee their headquarters in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the Financial Times newspaper said Saturday.
"where you going with that suitcase?"
"Ummm....outside"
"I don't think so" *bam*

An activist opposed to both IS and the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is well-known to the British business broadsheet, said he had "verified 100 executions" of foreign IS fighters trying to leave the jihadist group's de facto capital.

IS fighters in Raqqa said the group has created a military police to clamp down on foreign fighters who do not report for duty. Dozens of homes have been raided and many jihadists have been arrested, the FT reported.

Some jihadists have become disillusioned with the realities of fighting in Syria, reports have said.
no, reeeaaaallly?
According to the British press in October, five Britons, three French, two Germans and two Belgians wanted to return home after complaining that they ended up fighting against other rebel groups rather than Assad's regime. They were being held prisoner by IS.

In total, between 30 and 50 Britons want to return but fear they face jail, according to researchers at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at King's College London, which had been contacted by one of the jihadists speaking on their behalf.

#6  ISIL is a roach motel - the vermin check in, but they can never check out.

Which brings me to my greatest suggestion yet for Western Intelligence agencies.

Create the world's most prestigious terrorist training center - out in some desolate, god-forsaken piece of remote real estate.

Then run a jihadi recruiting program:

Sign up with us

First class (decadent) luxury airfare to city near jihadi camp

Air conditioned limo picks you up, and brings you to five star hotel - with all expenses paid, including free Austrian-Bosnian beauties for the night.

Next morning, you are issued your personal jihandi kit - a mint AK-47, and RPG-7, a fresh Koran, a jihadi prayer rug - plus Gatorade, and whatever other favorite snack foods you want - served by wanna be European jihadi girls.

You then travel by luxury bus to the desert training camp, with a goat/lamb feast en route.

You arrive to your luxury communal air-conditioned tent, with separate cubicles for each lunatic recruit.

These air-conditioned tents in the desert are arranged in concentric circles, to "facilitate better communications."

Every second week, a flight of B-52 bombers conducts an ARCLIGHT strike on the camp, returning it to prehistoric, pristine rubble - which can be smoothed out, and rebuilt into a luxury camp for the next batch of recruits.

Don't fight the jihadi pestilence - embrace it. Lure every closeted maniac out of the shadows, and into the bullseye - and then obliterate them.

How hard can that be?

Roach motel. 'Best thing that could happen to wanna' be terrorists.

Qaida in Syria Seizes Tanks, APCs from Army
[AnNahar] Al-Qaeda gunnies in Syria seized dozens of tanks and armored personnel carriers from the army when they took two regime bases this week, a monitor said on Friday.

Al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
Front, Al-Qaeda's Syria branch, captured the Wadi al-Deif and Hamidiyeh military posts in the northwestern province of Idlib on Monday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Britannia-based group, which relies on a network of sources on the ground, had said in an earlier report that nearly 200 combatants on both sides were killed in a 24-hour battle for the bases.

Al-Nusra Front fighters, backed by allied Islamist Lion of Islams, captured at least 120 soldiers, the Observatory said at the time.

On Friday, it reported that the jihadists also seized 35 tanks and 20 armored personnel carriers "stuffed with ammunition".

Gunmen who came out of the Syrian refugee encampents in the area assisted the jihadists in their assault.

The snuffies also took hostage around 36 soldiers and coppers of whom seven were eventually released and four were executed.

They are threatening to kill more captives if Lebanese authorities do not release Islamist prisoners held in Leb.

A military source told al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Friday, that the arrest was carried out two days ago, without revealing any further details.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, described the arrest as ?important,? considering it a blow to the terrorist organizations.

The source pointed out that the detention comes in light of the heavy security measures taken by security forces to safeguard situation in the country, noting that it could play a role in the release of the kidnapped servicemen, who are held hostage by ISIL and the al-Qaeda-affiliate al-Nusra

[AnNahar] The Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch has locked away
Please don't kill me!
a network allied with the Syrian regime that kidnaps opposition members and hands them over to the authorities in Damascus, al-Mustaqbal
... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri...
daily reported on Friday.

The newspaper quoted a high-ranking security official as saying that the cell is led by Majed Mansour, a Baath Party official in the West Bekaa.

The group, which includes Baath party members, had been recently abducting Syrian opposition members and smuggling them to Syria to be executed later on, the source said.

Their latest victim was Syrian Mohammed Ahmed al-Naamani who was kidnapped five days ago from an area in the West Bekaa and was handed over to intelligence officers in Damascus.

The official, who was not identified, told al-Mustaqbal that the Intelligence Branch carried out coordinated raids on Thursday to arrest the cell's members.

Mansour was able to escape but his brothers Khaled, Alam and Mansour were arrested, the official said.

The ISF also apprehended Syrian Mahmoud Hassan and seized arms from the house of the cell leader.

Other network members were arrested during raids in several Lebanese regions.

So far, seven suspects are in jug, the official said, adding that security forces are pursuing three others.

But LBCI said the number of arrested suspects rose to nine on Friday.

One of them was seized after he was injured during a raid carried out by the ISF in the West Bekaa, it added.

#1  HBG, YJA, YBS, STAR, YPG, YPJ - These being Iraqi and Syrian Kurdish fighting groups and Shingal defense forces worked together through out Norther Iraq and Northern Syria to expel ISIS from many towns to establish a contiguous open corridor from Mt Sinjar Iraq to Rojava, Syria.

This is critical since Turkey is hostile to the Kurds and refused to establish a humanitarian corridor, the Kurds were able to establish a humanitarian corridor of their own from Iraq friendly areas to northern Syria.

#2  Dozens of European and African ISIS fighters have been killed in the Northern Iraq area by the Peshmerga.

The Peshmerga are reporting that in many areas ISIS is in disarray as ISIS did not anticipate such a rapid advance of the anti-ISIS forces in Northern Iraq within the past two days.

#5  I hope 'Dean Parker' is a nom de guerre. I reckon it's a bit late to discuss the dangers associated with vids and interviews. Embedding with host nation is smart. Steering clear of western advisors, even smarter. Best of luck to you broer.
