Sessions: 'The World Has Turned Upside Down'
[WEEKLYSTANDARD] "The President is systemically stripping away the immigration protections to which every single American worker and their family is entitled. He doesn't care how this impacts Americans' jobs, wages, schools, tax bills, hospitals, police departments, or communities.

"But it gets worse still. The WSJ reports that the President is 'expected to benefit businesses that use large numbers of legal immigrants, such as technology companies.' Those changes include measures to massively expand the number of foreign workers for IT companies--measures aggressively lobbied for by IT giants like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. Yet we have more than 11 million Americans with STEM degrees who don't have jobs in these fields. Rutgers professor Hal Salzman documented that two-thirds of all new IT jobs are being filled by foreign workers. From 2000 through today, a period of record legal immigration, all net gains in employment among the working-age have gone entirely to immigrant workers.

"And now, in order to help open borders billionaires, President B.O. is going to deny millions of Americans their shot at entering the middle class and a better life.

"The world has turned upside down. Instead of serving the interests of the American people, the policies of President B.O. and every Senate Democrat serve the needs of special interests and global CEOs who fail to understand the duty a nation owes to its own people. But the citizens of this country still hold the power, and through their voice, they can turn the country right-side again."

#5  Crapitalism has reached the point of no return. The layers of the judicial system and bureaucracies have been completely infected with the graft and corruption endemic to socialism/fascism.

BHO pulled the plug on anything that could fight it off and fed the infection to make it grow as fast as possible. Short of watering the tree of liberty I'm afraid this country will now devolve into a northern Mexico.

#6  Short of watering the tree of liberty I'm afraid this country will now devolve into a northern Mexico.

With each election since 2008, the country at the state and local level has become more and more Republican. And therefore with each election, at the state and local level staffing and projects have become more streamlined and focussed, budgets brought into balance -- or at least closer toward balance -- government unions increasingly disempowered, voter rolls cleaner, voter ID more likely to be required and more likely to require a photo, gun licensing and concealed carry permits requirements loosened, Common Core rejected, and even in some cases taxes reduced.

This is a long march through the institutions ht the tea oartiers via the Republican Party, ladies and gents, and as it is mostly happening elsewhere than Washington, has been occurring mostly under the radar of our Progressive elites in DC. Even the Millennials are turning their backs on the Democratic Party and toward the Republicans, though they profess all sorts of liberal ideas in their private lives, just as most of us did when we were their age.

#2  And how do we hold them accountable other than lynch mobs?

In the long run, the way we have for the past decade: starve the beast. Stop buying their products, causing them to cut staff to reduce expenses to match lower income. Some reporters find new, more truthful gigs on the internet, most discover their interest in other endeavours.

In the short term, give them fewer elected Democratic politicians to cover up for. It's only three days to election day, which is very short term, indeed.

We hold them accountable by promoting the truth.

We hold them accountable by exposing the lies and hypocrisy.

WE HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE BY SUPPORTING RANTBURG.

And:
We hold them accountable by supporting people and organizations like this:

#8  I have come to understand Mexico yesterday. An officer very familiar with that part of the world said 4-5 families control everything. It's either 4 or 5, I couldn't remember. 50 years of Democrats holding down the black families has created a dependency class. It's all they know. There and here. Fear of being on your own. Sit back and collect benefits but support your handlers.

India-Pakistan
Is Malala a Marxist and Does It Matter?
Moved to Opinion
As Malala becomes more famous, at some point we're going to have to discuss this. Yes that's Lenin and that's Trotsky on that poster.

Since Malala became famous she has been kept mostly apolitical entering the realm of Mother Theresa or Gandhi as a transnational humanitarian figure. The reality is certainly a lot more complicated than that.

...In the Muslim world, the non-Islamic opposition is largely limited to the far, and the hard left at that, so Malala's origins are not surprising. Her origins as an activist are not apolitical. She did not come out of nowhere.

The strange paradox is that while in the West, the left panders to Islam while the right opposes it, in the East, the remaining opposition is from the left. There are exceptions such as Turkey, but even there the "secular right" has been largely suppressed by Erdogan.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
US-Israel alliance strange but stable
[ARABNEWS] Uri Avnery in Arab News, excerpt
... Netanyahu is no fool. Chickenshit or not, unlike Yaalon he is considered smart and intelligent. So what is he doing? There is method in his madness.

Netanyahu grew up in the US. When his father was boycotted by Israeli academia, which refused to take him seriously as a historian, the family moved to a suburb of Philadelphia. He prides himself on having an intimate knowledge of the US. What is he thinking about?

He knows that Israel controls the US Congress. No American politician could possibly be reelected if he voiced even the slightest hint of criticism of the Jewish State. AIPAC, the most powerful lobby in Washington (apart from the National Rifle Association) will see to that. The powerful grip the Jewish lobby has on the media is a further guarantee.

In Netanyahu's view, in any confrontation between Congress and the White House over Israel, the president is bound to lose. So there is nothing to be afraid of.

Netanyahu, in fact is playing roulette with all the capital of Israel in the vast casino called the US. Perhaps he has been infected by his mentor and protector, the Casino Czar Sheldon Adelson, who has a hand in conducting Israeli policy in the US.

In order to appreciate the magnitude of Netanyahu's gamble, with us as chips, one has to visualize the state of the union. The US is now a dysfunctional democracy.

In a normal democracy -- say the UK or Germany -- there are two central parties, or party coalitions, which face each other. They are both mainstream and the differences between them are minor. They succeed each other from time to time without much ado. The citizens hardly notice. Not in the US. Not anymore.

The American public is now deeply divided between two camps, which hate each other from the bottom of their hearts (if they have any). This hatred is abysmal. One is the party of the ultra-rich, who defend their privileges, the other belongs to the moderately wealthy and serves their interests.

The ideologies of the two camps are diametrically opposed. Therefore, they cannot agree practically on anything.

The Republicans, who control Congress (and may do so even more firmly in a few days time) are out to immobilize the administration. Once they even stopped all federal payments, making the running of the state impossible. A consistent joint foreign policy is out of the question. I am not sure that the situation on the eve of the great Civil War was much worse. Into this crazy situation Netanyahu has plunged. He has placed all his chips (us) on the Republicans.

During the last presidential elections, he almost openly supported Mitt Romney, the opponent of Obama, thus practically declaring war on the present administration. The radical anti-Obama statements made now by Israeli leaders are used -- and designed to be used -- by Republican candidates against their Democratic opponents.

The Democrats make strenuous efforts to woo Jewish voters and donors by flattering Israel in the most outrageous terms, promising to support each and every action of the Israeli government, now and for all eternity, be it what it may. Inadvertently, they stick knives into the back of the Israeli peace forces, making the fight for peace even more Herculean. But even if the mid-term elections make the House and the Senate even more subservient to the Israeli right-wing, Obama will be around for two more years. In a way, having no more elections to fear, he will be freer than before to obstruct Netanyahu.

I wish he would. But I do not entertain too much hope. Even as a lame duck, he will still have to consider the interests of the next Democratic candidate for the White House.

Obama could still do a lot for peace between Israel and Palestine, a peace supported by the entire pro-American Arab bloc -- something clearly in the US national interest, not to mention ours. For that, courage is needed. And -- yes -- a little more Obsessive Messianism.

#2  The root of the 'chickenshit' comment is from they've been pushing Netanyahu, and shoving, and leaning on him, and got nowhere. All they have to show is just about where they were to begin with, which burns ValJar, who was going to 'deliver' her homeland (Iran).
The flip side is from here there's no restraint on Bibi that wasn't there before, either.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
After losing 1,000 men in Syria, Hezbollah builds 'security zone'
[IsraelTimes] Almost six months have passed since the last suicide kaboom on the streets of Dahiya, the Shiâite quarter of Beirut and a Hezbollah stronghold. After a number of lethal attacks from radical Sunni groups, including the Abdullah Azzam Brigade, on Iranian and Hezbollah targets, it appears that the Shiâite organization has managed, with considerable effort, to stop the attacks, if only temporarily.

There are several reasons for this success, including Hezbollah activities on the Syrian side of the border, and Lebanese Army raids on terrorist strongholds.

But a major cause for the stabilized security situation in Shiâite areas is the âsecurity zoneâ Hezbollah has created on the Syria/Leb border. It features a series of permanent bases built by the organization in recent months in order to prevent the flow of Sunni snuffies into Leb. These outposts are situated primarily in the central sector of the border. In part, this is because the movement of vehicles to the north and to the south is difficult, and can be monitored and controlled by Hezbollah without a round-the-clock presence.

Unlikely Allies On Israel-Syria Border, As Assad Watches His Country Split
[IsraelTimes] In the Golan Heights border area, a strange reality has emerged: Israel and local Syrian opposition groups are cooperating in order to manage the humanitarian situation. And all the while, al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
Front fighters, theoretically affiliated with al-Qaeda, are in the background. This organization, mostly Syrian, was born with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, and split off after a personal fight between two leaders.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Hoyt: Moral Lepers
...The left, though, can't apply logic to its beliefs, because if it did they'd crumble at the touch (no? really? Answer me quickly: which one is more UNJUSTLY oppressed? A black woman raised in the lap of luxury by college-professor parents or a white man in the Appalachia raised by a druggie single mother? Which one deserves your help more? If you said the woman, you just proved you internalized your Marxist training perfectly, but you can't think. If you said "the man" you just proved you are trying to game me. The actual answer is "It depends on the content of their characters." That's the ONLY sane, rational answer for a non-racist human in a free society.)

So instead, they rely on a system of "cleanliness."

Having defined some thoughts as unclean — those that disapprove of any women for any reason whatsoever, or which fail to believe men and women are exactly alike (we're not. Vive la difference), those that say the poor might have done something to bring their plight on themselves, those that approve of any republican, ever, those that intimate that the person might vote for anyone but a democrat/socialist/communist, those that disapprove of communism and all its works and all its empty promises – they then go around trying to avoid the contagion of those thoughts.

To that end, their fellow SJWs help, by acting like lepers in the middle ages, tolling their little bell and shouting "unclean, unclean" every time a blog or book betrays one of the germs of these forbidden ideas.

They have to, you see. Like lepers in the middle ages they have no clue how the contagion occurs, they just know that exposed people often become that which the SJWs [social justice warriors] disapprove of. (I.e. ANY rational thought can crumble their perfect pseudo-religion.)

...Their system, because irrational, and because they are so loud, has been intimidating and maiming the right for decades.

You see, no one wants to become a target of their screams and pointing because, well, who the heck wants to be called a nazi because they disapprove of gynocracy in Science Fiction or of giving awards to people because they, in the ultimate analysis, have a vagina and/or an interesting genetic background?

When I was a kid, every Sunday we visited the slum where mom grew up. (Yes, I hated it, why?) On the way to my grandparents' three room (rented) house, we passed this … magnificent ruin. If I had to guess, it was probably once a manorial house, now many centuries abandoned/in disrepair. (Though it might be older than that. Like its equivalent in the village, it was called "ilha" a direct translation from the Roman Insula.) It had many floors and countless rooms, out of which boiled a multitude of half-dressed, ragged, dirty children, who would swarm around you, hitting and kicking, and trying to steal stuff from your purse.

The SJWs are sort of like that, when they find a target, and no one wants to deal with the swarm of dirty, ragged and intellectually half-dressed children.

Roger L. Simon: Welcome to Berlin, 1937
Something is seriously wrong. At almost every opportunity, Obama and his minions have criticized Israel out of all proportion to the actions of the Jewish state, particularly during the recent Gaza War when there was a constant barrage of warnings from our State Department about harming civilians. (This is a criticism State would never turn on itself. Who knows how many innocents have died in the U.S. air attacks on ISIS -- no one even says a word about it.)

Now they have called Israel's prime minister a 'chickensh*t,' a 'coward' and who knows what else, using adjectives for Benjamin Netanyahu they don't employ with Kim Jung-un, Vladimir Putin, Hassan Nasrallah, Bashar Assad or even the murderous Islamic State's al-Baghdadi, not to mention -- and this is probably crucial -- the potentially most homicidal of all, Ayatollah Khamenei of the Islamic State of Iran. (One of the more sinister aspects of Jeff Goldberg's article that generated this controversy was that one of his leakers bragged they had scared cowardly Netanyahu into not attacking Iran's nuclear installations, as if this were a good thing, the implication being that the administration can now look good for making an Iran deal -- that would ultimately give the mullahs the bomb.) It's as if Netanyahu, not the aforementioned maniacs, were the administration's worst enemy.

Meanwhile, the attempts to make nice to the Israelis over the vicious personal slurs from the article, which apparently came from two high and thus far unpunished administration officials, have been perfunctory, so perfunctory that you know they are not meant to be taken seriously, quite the contrary. In fact, an attempted terrorist assassination of a prominent American-Israeli in Jerusalem yesterday that caused the Israeli government to put the Temple Mount on lockdown has already generated more chastisement of the Israelis from our secretary of State. All this against an unprecedented, at least since World War II, rise in global anti-Semitism.

The administration claims to be making these 'constructive' criticisms for Israel's sake, but the Jewish state has better allies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia than they do in an Obama administration that seems to prefer Islamofascist Qatar -- those same oil sheikhs that bankroll Hamas, the terror organization whose charter exhorts all Muslims to kill every Jew hiding behind a tree anywhere in the world.

And you wonder why I feel like I'm living in Berlin in 1937.

#3  any Jew more serious than a Reform

It's not about being Reform, as we can have as profound a faith and as deep a Zionist connection as our more traditional coreligionists. It's about using the umbrella of Judaism to express the Progressive worldview, and allowing an open despite of those Jews whose faith is profound and Zionism real to pervade both words and deeds. There are Conservative and even a few Orthodox Jews who do this as well.
