Twin Blasts In Baidoa Kill At Least 19
[RADIOSHABELLE] At least 19 people have been killed and 50 people are maimed after two jacket wallahs wearing explosives vests attacked a restaurant and a hotel that are popular with civilians and local government officials in the town of Baidoa in Somalia.

Police officer Mahad Mohammed said a man wearing an bomb walked into Beder restaurant and went kaboom! on Saturday, killing multiple people and wounding others.

Shortly after the first blast, Mohammed said another suicide bomber went kaboom! at the Bilan hotel, killing more than six people.

Islamist terrorist group al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
grabbed credit for the attacks on the pro-insurgent radio station Andalus. The al-Qaeda-linked bully boy group is fighting to topple the country’s government and establish an Islamist state based on its strict interpretation of Islamic law.

Baidoa, considered a centre of economic activity in Somalia, lies some 250km west of Somalia’s capital of Mogadishu. The town is due to hold elections for the regional presidency next month, and one of the candidates is al-Shabaab defector Mukhtar Robow, who once served as the group’s deputy commander.

The US military says it conducted an Arclight airstrike targeting the turbans near the town of Haradere the day before.

Somali, AU Forces In Joint Operations To Clear Main Supply Routes
[RADIOSHABELLE] Somali and African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
security forces have embarked on joint security operations in Hiraan region to clear main supply routes to facilitate delivery of humanitarian aid to the population, the mission said on Friday.

The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) said the joint operation in south-central Somalia region has so far clear 16 improvised bombs (IEDs) and is also aimed at improving freedom of movement.

"The forces are opening the main supply routes connecting Beletweyne and Jalalaqsi to facilitate safe and timely humanitarian assistance delivery," it said.

The allied forces have been pursuing a renewed offensive against al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
bad boys, who in 2011 were forced to retreat from the capital, Mogadishu.

The UN has warned that a blockage of supply routes will spark a rise in prices and reduction of basic commodities in recovered towns that could further worsen food security in the affected districts.

The joint forces are reportedly taking main towns and moving along the main roads, but al-Shabaab has in some cases maintained control of supply routes, hindering the delivery of humanitarian and commercial supplies to affected people.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli police investigating Palestinian woman's death in car
[Al Ahram] Israeli police said on Saturday they were investigating the death of a Paleostinian woman in the occupied West Bank, after her husband said he suspected Israeli settlers had pelted their car with rocks.

Rooters was unable to independently verify the circumstances of the incident but footage of the car, which a Rooters cameraman said bore Paleostinian licence plates, showed what appeared to be a blood-stained broken brick at the foot of the passenger seat, which was covered in shattered glass and blood stains.

A source at the Nablus hospital where Aisha al-Rawbi was brought said the 47-year-old was dead on arrival and that she had suffered a head injury. Her relatives said an autopsy was to be carried out at another hospital.

The woman's husband, Aykube al-Rawbi, 52, said he was driving by a settlement late on Friday after dark along a main road near the Paleostinian city of Nablus and that he could not clearly see who pelted the car.

"The stones came from the side where the settlement is. I could hear the people speak Hebrew, but I didn't see them," said al-Rawbi.

Israeli Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said: "Police arrived in the area and have opened an investigation into the circumstances behind the incident reported."
