Taliban Mourns Mullah Omar's Death in Kabul
[Tolo News] A number of former Taliban members, including leaders of Harakat-e-Inqilab Islami Afghanistan, members of the High Peace Council and Shura-e-Insijam-e-Ulema-e-Afghanistan, gathered to mourn the death of the Taliban's supreme commander, Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
The reclusive Taliban leader was announced dead this past week by Taliban front man after years of speculation about his condition and whereabouts. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
the circumstances surrounding his death remain murky, as Afghan government officials maintain that Omar died two years ago, in 2013, at a hospital in Bloody Karachi

#2  There are allegations that MO had been poisoned to death, ostensib by his new successor Mansour.

* FYI JAPAN TIMES > OPINION: THE WEST MAY COME TO MISS THE TALIBAN'S MULLHA OMAR.

The onset of MO's death brings wid it the threat of a more violent, more pro-Jihad, non-isolationist/non-AFPAK-only-focused Taliban or other WORSE, NOT-NECESSARILY-ISIS-CONTROLLED RADICAL MILITANT GROUP.

Akbar Agha Pushes Peace Building Efforts Among Clerics, Tribal Elders
[Tolo News] Sayed Mohammad Akbar Agha, the former leader of the Taliban's Jaish-al-Moslemeen (Army of Moslems) and the current chairman of the Shurae-Aali Rah-e-Nejat (High Council of Salvation), on Saturday announced that the council has initiated efforts around the country geared toward strengthening the prospects of national unity and bringing an end to the war in Afghanistan.

Taliban leaders swear allegiance to Mullah Mansour
[DAWN] Amidst reports of divisions in Taliban ranks over the choice of their chief, the group's supreme council notified Mullah Akhtar Mansour as successor to the late Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
and named his two deputies on Friday.

"The supreme council agreed that he is the appropriate and eligible person, according to the requirements of Shariah, to lead the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan," a statement issued by front man Zabihullah Mujahid said on behalf of the Taliban shura.

The statement described Mullah Mansour as 'Emir-ul-Momineen' or the 'leader of the faithful' -- a tag used by Mullah Omar during his life.

The appointment had been reported a day earlier but the council announced his designation as the emir on Friday. Thursday's statement by the Taliban front man, confirming the reports about the death of Mullah Omar, had said nothing about the news of Mullah Mansour's appointment.

But on Friday, the front man said Mullah Mansour was 'a close and trusted friend' of Mullah Omar and deputised during his life. He said the choice had been made by the Taliban supreme council and leading holy mans of Afghanistan.

Mullah Mansour, who is in his mid-fifties, served as head of the aviation department during the Taliban government and after their ouster from power remained the shadow governor of Kandahar. Within the organization, he remained on the supreme council and deputy to Mullah Omar. He also headed the political and military division of Taliban, because of which he has been maintaining direct contact with the field commanders.

The elders, religious scholars and notables also swore allegiance to him after his election, the front man said.

Although the statement suggested that the election had taken place smoothly, sources in the krazed killer group gave a different account and claimed that several key commanders had opposed his nomination and boycotted the meeting.

Egypt Court Postpones Verdict on Qaeda Chief's Brother
[ALMANAR.LB] An Egyptian court postponed its verdict expected on Saturday in the trial of Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri's brother and 66 others accused of forming a "terrorist group" to carry out attacks.

State news agency MENA said the court in Cairo would announce its verdict on August 10 to allow for "further deliberations".

Mohammed al-Zawahiri was tossed in the slammer
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
in August 2013 at the height of a campaign of repression of holy warriors in the wake of the army's overthrow of the country's Islamist president Mohammad Mursi.

Zawahiri and his co-defendants are accused of having formed "a terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda" and plotting attacks on government installations, security forces and Egypt's Christian minority, all charges which his lawyer has denied.

Al-Qaeda leader's brother is specifically charged with having formed the group, arming its members and arranging training in the manufacture and use of explosives.

Group members allegedly trained at secret camps in districts of Cairo and in the Nile Delta, north of the capital.

Kerry Kicks off Mideast Trip to Egypt, Doha
[ALMANAR.LB] US Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
departed late Friday to Egypt for cooperation talks and to Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, in a bid to "ease" Gulf countries' "concerns" about the Iran nuclear deal.

During his stop in Egypt Sunday, Kerry will meet with his counterpart Sameh Shoukri for a "strategic dialogue" between the long-time allies, which have had a tumultuous relationship in recent years, following political unrest in the northern African nation.

In late March, the United States lifted its freeze on annual military aid of $1.3 billion to Cairo.

But Washington kept up public condemnation of the brutal repression by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's regime ofsupporters of his ousted predecessor, Mohammed Mursi.

The "dialogue" between the two officials is the first since 2009, and comes in the wake of an announcement this week that Washington began the delivery eight F-16 fighter jets to Egypt.

In addition to military cooperation, Kerry and Shukri will discuss Washington's human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
"concerns."

"We'll certainly be discussing the issue of the political environment, human rights issues while the Secretary is in Cairo. That is an important part of our regular dialogue," a US State Department official said

Assistant Secretary Tom Malinowski, will be joining Kerry, according to the official, who said he "will have an opportunity to discuss with his counterparts some of the issues that we have, some of the concerns that we have about the situation."

Kerry will travel to Doha Monday to meet with his counterparts from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The main purpose of that meeting will be to "allay fears" they have about Iran, following the nuclear deal signed on July 14 in Vienna.

"This is an opportunity, really, for the Secretary to do a deep dive with the GCC foreign ministers to try to respond to any remaining questions that they might have and hopefully to satisfy them and ensure that they're supporting our effort going forward," the official said.

He added that the crises in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Syria will also be discussed.

The trip, which ends August 8, will not include a stop in the Zionist entity, one of Washington's closest allies and a fierce critic of the newly-hatched Iran nuclear agreement.
Golly. A snub.

The rise of North Korea’s dissident culture

More than 300,000 seek asylum in Germany this year so far
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Germany has hosted more than 300,000 asylum seekers since the start of the year, said the daily Die Welt on Saturday, as Berlin prepares for a record influx of refugees in 2015.

According to the conservative newspaper, which cited details of a telephone conference between the interior ministers of German states, "302,415 asylum seekers have already been registered" this year.

This figure is higher than the one given by the Federal Office for Migrants and Refugees (BAMF) which recorded 258,000 current requests. According to Die Welt, this is because the state figures have not yet been picked up at federal level and have therefore not been considered by the BAMF.

Germany's states, which are redistributing asylum seekers on the basis of their capacity to do so, have repeatedly sounded alarms and called for greater federal aid to cope with the influx.

The refugees' office had initially been expecting 450,000 asylum seekers in 2015 but had to revise this forecast upwards to an unprecedented 500,000 people.

In 2014, Germany received more than 202,000 asylum requests, or 60 percent more than in 2013.

And according to Der Tagesspiegel newspaper, unofficial "internal numbers" at the BAMF suggest as many as 600,000 asylum applicants in 2015.

Migrants 'attacked' at sea between Greece and Turkey
[Hurriyet Daily News] Migrants trying to sail from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to Greece are increasingly reporting being attacked by gunnies trying to prevent them from reaching Europe, according to multiple sources.

The reports came as the U.N.'s refugee agency on July 31 said Greece's infrastructure was falling "far short" of the needs of the 109,000 migrants who have arrived in the country this year, fleeing war, poverty and persecution.

An international NGO, which did not wish to be named, has launched an investigation after several witnesses reported being attacked en route from Turkey to Greece, with some saying they were robbed and others saying the motors from their boats were stolen.

The NGO said it suspected the involvement of "mafia gangs", while also noting that the Greek coastguard has previously engaged in activities designed to deter migrants from trying to make their way to Greek shores.

"But we have been assured that this has finished," the NGO said.

Reports of attacks on migrants were particularly common around the Greek island of Lesbos in the east Aegean Sea, it added.

Nawal Soufi, and Italian activist who has handled numerous distress calls from Syrian refugees at sea, said she had heard of around 20 boats whose passengers had been attacked in recent months.

#6  The EUnuchs have lost control of their border. The French govt is unable or unwilling to control their borders. Migrants are piling up at Calais, trying to get to the UK. The US has lost control of her borders due to an administration that has defied or ignored the law of the land.

The migrants are living their respective sh*tholes because there are no opportunities there, or because of war has made the places unlivable. Also, take a look at the demographics of Africa and Europe. Europe native population has plateaued at 500 million+/-. Africa is increasing exponentially to a population of 2.4 BILLION+/- by 2040! Where will all the Africans go that cannot find work, food, stability?

There is good money to be made by transporting migrants (and imbedded jahidis) to southern Europe and dumping them off and getting more loads.

The Grand Turk
Turkey's Erdogan says his only concern is Islam, takes jab at atheists
[Hurriyet Daily News] Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
has said his only concern is Islam, while slamming the defenders of bandidos bully boyz and atheists in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
.

"We have only one concern. It is Islam, Islam and Islam. It is impossible for us to accept the overshadowing of Islam. Islam is damaged from what is all being done now. We all have to show the will to categorically deny terrorism without looking at its basis or identity," said Erdogan in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta as part of a visit to the Far East and Southeast Asia.

Erdogan also said some people in Turkey who belong to different sects even defended atheists and bandidos bully boyz due to sectarian reasons.

"When it comes to speaking, they say 'We are Moslems.' But on the other hand, we see those who defend both bandidos bully boyz and atheist organizations just because of that sectarian difference. Therefore, we have to be on alert against those people," said Erdogan.

Erdogan also added Islam was at a turning point with sectarianism being the primary problem.

Turkey does not have a problem with different sects, but terrorist organizations attempt to take advantage of differences in sects under the guise of Islam, he said. In this regard, he named the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as a terrorist organization and said it was damaging Islam and the perception of Moslems in the world.

"The footage disclosed to the world by the hand of this organization greatly damages the perception of Islam and Moslems in the world. We all have to defy this as Turkey does. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
there are some dark powers spreading propaganda that Turkey supported this organization. Turkey has never been involved in that support," Erdogan said, adding that the actions of ISIL had no place in Islam.

Erdogan also said the cost of Syrian refugees to Turkey had now exceeded 6 billion dollars, while criticizing the West over its failure to show as much sensibility as Turkey in terms of refugees.

"They [European nations] are even giving opportunities to refugees coming from the Aegean and Mediterranean to drown in the sea," Erdogan said.

"Prosecutors have launched operations that resulted in the detention and arrest of party officials after President Erdogan's and Prime Minister Davutoglu's statements that they had given instructions. without concrete evidence since July 24," the petition issued by the HDP read.

Recalling consecutive statements by Erdogan and Davutoglu against HDP co-chairpersons Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, the petition said these statements were directly influencing judicial independence and impartiality.

The petition said influencing the judiciary was a crime under article 277 of the Turkish Penal Code.

Accused Russian Taliban depicted in US court as assault mastermind
Instead of Guantanamo Bay as a prisoner of war for the duration, the pleasures of an American trial followed by American prison.
[Ynet] Accused Taliban fighter Irek Hamidullin, the first military prisoner from Afghanistan to be tried in US federal court, was portrayed by prosecutors and testimony Friday as the commander behind an attack on U.S. and Afghan forces six years ago near the Pakistain border.

Hamidullin, a former Soviet army officer believed to be in his 50s, faces 15 criminal counts ranging from supporting turbans to firearms offenses stemming from the 2009 assault on Camp Leyza, an Afghan border police base in eastern Afghanistan's Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
US Army Sergeant Sergio Silva, the prosecution's third witness to take the stand, testified that he saw Hamidullin fire on him and other American and Afghan soldiers during a skirmish with Death Eaters after the initial assault.

Silva added that two Afghan Death Eaters were killed in the firefight and that Hamidullin was maimed and surrendered.

Iraqi Kurdistan leadership: PKK should leave
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Kurdish rebels of the PKK should move out of Iraqi Kurdistan to prevent Turkish air strikes against them from causing civilian casualties, the region's leadership said on Saturday.

"The PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) must keep the battlefield away from the Kurdistan region in order for civilians not to become victims of this war," the office of the region's president Massud Barzani said in a statement.

He also condemned The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's bombardment of Zargala village which he said had left a number of civilians dead a day earlier, and called for all sides to return to the grinding of the peace processor.

"We condemn this bombardment that led to the martyrdom of people from the Kurdistan region and call on Turkey not to bombard civilians again," he said.

Turkey has repeatedly attacked PKK camps in northern Iraq in the past week in what it says is a response to a series of assassinations of coppers and soldiers that it has blamed on the Kurdish bully boy group.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
the strikes were the first since a grinding of the peace processor with the Kurds was launched in 2012.

on Saturday of targeting it at least four times in the past week, calling the attacks provocative and hostile.

Turkey began a campaign of air strikes on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) camps in northern Iraq and Islamic State fighters in Syria last Friday, in what Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has called a "synchronised fight against terror".

The campaign has raised suspicions among Kurds that Ankara's real agenda is checking Kurdish territorial ambitions rather than fighting Islamic State.

The president of Iraq's Kurdistan region on Saturday condemned Turkey's bombardment of Zargala, a village there which he said had killed civilians, and called for a return to the grinding of the peace processor between Ankara and the PKK.

Turkey's foreign ministry said the allegations would be investigated in a joint inquiry with the government of Iraq's Kurdistan.

"It is known that there are no civilians in the Zargala terrorist camp but senior PKK members were present during the air strikes," the ministry said in a statement.

"Meanwhile it is a fact that the terrorist organization unfortunately uses civilians as human shields," it said.

The Syrian Kurdish YPG said in a statement on its website that it came under cross-border fire on four occasions in the past week and described sightings of Turkish jets over northern Syria.

Debka: Israel tech in the Chinese J-10 fighter jets Iran may be buying
Debka, so salt to taste.
Iran is about to conclude a transaction with China for the purchase of the Chengdu J-10 multirole jet fighter, known in the West as the Vigorous Dragon, according to an exclusive report from debkafile’s military and intelligence sources. Beijing has agreed to sell Tehran 150 of these sophisticated jets.

While the Chinese J-10 is comparable to the US F-16, our sources report that it is virtually a replica of the Lavi, the super-fighter developed by Israel’s aerospace industry in the second half of the 80s. Israel sold China the technology, after Washington insisted on Its discontinuing the Lavi’s production. The US also objected to the sale of the Lavi’s avionics, claiming that it contained some American components.

The Chinese plane comes in two versions – the multirole single-seat J-10A and the two-seat J-10B, which serves for training, ground assaults and electronic warfare.

Iran has additionally weighing the purchase in Moscow of 250 highly-advanced Sukhoi-Su-30MK1 twinjet multirole air superiority fighters, known in the West as Flanker-H.

On Wednesday, July 29, an Indian Air Force Su-30MK1 took part for the first time in a British air maneuver, Rainbow, where it dueled with the European Typhoon fighter.

The sophisticated Flanker has been found to have a major shortcoming. To carry eight tons of ordnance, it must use both of its AL-31FP engines, and the transition from one to two – and the reverse - often causes engine failure. The Indian Air Force has reported three such malfunctions in a month, as well another shortcoming: The time needed for making the aircraft serviceable is too long. As a result, only half of the Indian fleet can be airborne at one time.
So you buy twice as many planes...
In a confrontation, the Iranian Air Force may find that, because of these drawbacks, the Chinese Su-30MK1 is outmatched by its American and European counterparts in the service of the Israeli, Saudi and UAE air forces.

On July 22, debkafile revealed that Moscow and Tehran had concluded a giant transaction for the acquisition of a fleet of 100 IL78 MK1 (Midas) in-flight refueling planes for extending the range of its warplanes up to 7,300 km and able to refuel 6-8 planes at once.
Tehran is also reportedly weighing purchasing 250 Sukhoi-Su-30 "Flanker H" fighters from Moscow. Guess they need something else for the IL78s to refuel.
debkafile: The scale of Iran’s multibillion acquisitions from China and Russia – 550 warplanes in all so far - indicates that Tehran’s top spending priority upon receipt of the funds released by the removal of sanctions, is to be a spanking new air force.

#4  Do the aircraft come with maintenance crews and pilots?

Likely the former.

..and organizational Class IX inventories?

Possibly. The Russians and Chinese (and eventually the Euros) will sell them whatever they want.

This seems to be a very word-salady-way of saying that two engine airplanes suck.

More like the Su-30 design is somewhat lacking.

#12  Now, now, to be fair the Indian Air Farce uses the terms "crashed" andor "crashing" when referring its new Russian aircraft, thus proving the clear-n-present danger or threat of Russian air - NOT - to US F-16's + F15's, + USN F-18's.

THE ABOVE BEING SAID + SELF-OBVIOUS ON THE MSM-NET, IT REMAINS IN US INTERESTS TO HELP INDIA + RUSSIA STAVE OFF THE HARD BOY THREAT, ESPEC TO THEIR NUKE ARSENALS.
