Farah violence has links with the issues related to water management: Bahrami
[KhaamaPress] The Afghan Defense Minister Gen. Tariq Shah Bahrami says the growing violence and recent war in western Farah province have links with issues surrounding the management of water resources.

"I don’t think you can ever rule out how much Iran interferes throughout this region. Iran remains the most destabilizing factor in the Middle East. So no, I don’t think you can ever rule out their mischief," a spokesperson for Pentagon Dana White said.

Injured Palestinians receive treatment at Egyptian hospitals: Palestine embassy
It sounds like the maimed are the only ones benefitting from that so-generous "open" border crossing.
[AlAhram] The Paleostinian embassy in Cairo confirmed the continued arrival of Paleostinians maimed in Gazoo by the Israeli occupation forces over the past week to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals in El-Arish, Ismailia and Cairo.

The embassy said in a statement that the maimed are being transported through the Rafah crossing, where they are received by a medical team led by Deputy Health Minister Arabi Mohammed.

On Monday, Israeli forces used live ammunition against Paleostinian demonstrating in Gazoo against the moving of the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, killing 61 Paleostinians and injuring hundreds.

Since Paleostinians started their Right of Return marches in Gazoo last March, Israel has killed at least 108 and maimed thousands.

According to the Paleostinian embassy, the injured have been receiving treatment at El-Arish General Hospital in Sinai, and some have recently been transferred to Nasser Institute Hospital in Cairo.

Emergency levels at Egyptian hospitals treating injured Paleostinians have been raised to a high level to receive the maimed.

The Paleostinian embassy expressed its appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Health Minister Ahmed Emad El-Din for helping save the lives of the maimed in Gazoo.

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on unarmed Paleostinian protesters, Egypt has been sending aid and medical convoys to Gazoo through the Rafah crossing border.

On Thursday, the first day of Ramadan, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi ordered the opening of the Rafah border during the entire holy month to "ease burdens on our brothers in Gazoo."

Houthi Militias Impose Sectarian Ramadan Evenings to Mobilize Recruits
[AAWSAT] The Houthi militia intensified movements in Sanaa and other regions ruled by it to mobilize more people, following its defeats in various battlefronts.

In this context, some people reported to Asharq Al-Awsat that the Houthis sent local supervisors to hold sectarian Ramadan evenings and mobilize the greatest number of citizens to come and listen to the Houthi program.

Sources revealed that the militia members stressed the necessity of a greater mobilization and threatened those who reject with punishment and arrest.

During Ramadan evenings, held after the Isha prayer, there is a lengthy lecture by the Houthi supervisor in addition to recordings of the group leader.

The sources affirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that the supervisors of the group requested from the attendees to mobilize the greatest number of recruits during month of Ramadan, since this is a religious duty that is more important than prayer and fasting, they claimed.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that the Houthi members arrested a number of activists who rejected to attend the sectarian evening and put them in secret prisons. Despite strict orders by Houthis for people to attend the evenings, the attendance turnout was quite low.

Rights sources revealed that Houthi militias stormed a students’ place in Thamar and arrested five students who are originally from Taiz province. The students were drove to one of the secret detention camps for charges of provoking people against the militia.

Amid mounting concerns from possible sneaking of people against the Houthi militia to regions ruled by the them, tough restrictions were made on arrivals to Sanaa and other cities ruled by the Houthis.

In the same context, employees in Sanaa reported that the Houthi militias took a decision to ban any employee who attempts to go to Aden to get his salary from the legit government.

Iran says Europe's support for nuclear deal not enough
[Ynet] Iran's Mohammad Javad Zarif says European political support to preserve 2015 nuclear accord is 'not sufficient' after US pulls out of deal; EU leaders say they want to preserve deal since the 'agreement works'; new credit lines for Tehran, increased energy cooperation and implementing EU laws to block European companies from caving in to US sanctions are considered by EU to keep Tehran in nuclear accord.

The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
is not doing enough to preserve the benefits for Iran from the 2015 international nuclear pact following the withdrawal of the United States, Iran's foreign minister told the EU's energy chief on Sunday.

Over 1,000 Germans have fought in Syria, Iraq
[ALMASDARNEWS] The German media group Funke reported on May 20 that Berlin is aware of more than 1,000 German residents, who have left for Syria and Iraq, since the war broke out several years ago, in order to support various terrorist groups. More than half of them have German citizenship.

243 of them left Germany to support the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK, considered a terrorist group in Germany) and the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) in in their battle against ISIS*. According to the media report, the government revealed the numbers while answering questions from parliamentary representatives of the Left Party.

The number of those who left Germany to fight with terrorist groups is still growing, but slower than 2-3 years ago, the German government said. Some of them are beginning to return to Germany.

The government also revealed that, in accordance with coalition agreements between the CDU/CSU and the SPD parties, a mechanism will be developed aimed at stripping those returning from Syria and Iraq of German citizenship, if evidence of ties with bandidos Death Eaters is found.

Left Party representative Ulla Jelpke slammed the initiative as "unconstitutional" and reminded that it could affect those who fought alongside with Kurds against ISIS*. SPD representative Uli Grötsch also criticized the idea as ineffective, saying that prosecution and de-radicalization are required to solve the domestic terrorism problem.

At the same time, the domestic affairs expert of the CDU party noted that the measure will allow authorities to prevent potential jihadist bandidos Death Eaters already at the German border.

The decision sparked tension between Ankara and Brussels.

Asma Nawab's wrongful imprisonment sheds light on slow justice
[DAWN] Asma Nawab spent two decades in jail, wrongfully accused of murdering her family. Finally acquitted, she is seeking a new life, free from whispers and memories, as her plight draws fresh questions over country's justice system.

Nawab was just 16 years old when someone slit the throats of her parents and only brother during an attempted robbery at their home in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
in 1998.

It was not until 2015 that her lawyers petitioned the Supreme Court, which ‐ after a three-year hearing ‐ ordered Nawab released due to lack of evidence last month.

"The verdict of this case was given in 12 days but it took 19 and a half years to dispose of the appeals," her lawyer Javed Chatari told AFP.
With the killings dominating headlines, prosecutors pushed for swift justice in a 12-day trial that ended with a death sentence handed to Nawab and her then-fiance.

The next 20 years were "very painful", Nawab, now 36, says tearfully.

At first the other inmates were sceptical at her protests of innocence, but eventually she formed a new "family" of women ‐ some convicted of kidnappings, others of murders.

They supported one another when progress on their cases was poor, or family neglected them.

"We would cry on Eid and other festivals... It was very painful. I would feel it intensely" when relatives failed to visit, she said through sobs. "Only once my uncle came to see me."

Though her trial was speedy, her appeal moved at a glacial speed through country's creaky justice system.

Suffering chest pains, Abbas taken to hospital for the third time in a week
More on this report from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] Sources say PA leader had trouble walking, has fever and may have pneumonia; his office says he is following up on ear surgery from last week

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
was taken to a Ramallah hospital Sunday for the third time in a week.

Sources told Israel’s Channel 10 and the AFP news agency that he was suffering from chest pains.

A Paleostinian official told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named Abbas had a fever.

He was still hospitalized on Sunday evening.

Israel’s Channel 10 news said he was rushed to the hospital, and that eyewitnesses said he "had trouble walking" and even "needed artificial respiration" at the hospital. The TV report stressed that the hospital had not confirmed this.

The report quoted hospital sources saying Abbas had a chest infection, and had been given antibiotics.

His office said Abbas was undergoing a followup examination after having surgery in his ear Tuesday, and that doctors said he was in "satisfactory" condition.

A PA source earlier Sunday told the Ynet news website the Paleostinian leader had been suffering from chest pains. "It might be pneumonia," the source said. "He’s being examined at the hospital."

The top PLO official Saeb Erekat
...negotiated the Oslo Accords with Israel. He has been chief Paleostinian negotiator since 1995. He is currently negotiating with Israel to establish a de jure Paleostinian state...
was quoted by Channel 10 on Sunday afternoon saying he had just visited Abbas. Eerekat said Abbas’s "condition is good," and that he expected Abbas to leave hospital on Monday or Tuesday. He was being kept under observation, Erekat was quoted saying.

A hospital source later told Hadashot TV Abbas would likely be discharged on Monday.

Last Tuesday Abbas, 83, underwent surgery in his ear which he described as "minor," telling The Times of Israel he was in good shape.

On Saturday he was briefly taken to hospital again, with his office saying he had gone to follow up on the operation.

The PA source had insisted Sunday’s health incident was not tied to the PA leader’s visits to the hospital last week.

Abbas earlier in the week dismissed rumors of declining health. A heavy smoker, he has a long history of health issues, ranging from heart troubles to a bout of prostate cancer a decade ago. Last summer, he dispelled rumors he had suffered a stroke.

Abbas has not designated a successor, and the Paleostinians have not held presidential elections since 2005 because of the split between Abbas’s Fatah party and the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terror group, which rules Gazoo.

Israel TV: Confident Hamas planned victory rallies for its leaders inside Israel
Hope is not a plan...
[IsraelTimes] Hadashot news claims Gazoo protesters given specific instructions by terror group, urged to bring 'knife or handgun' to rallies; IDF commanders recount violence hitherto unseen

Though it has sought to portray weeks of violent demonstrations along the Gazoo Strip’s border with Israel as popular protests, Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", has been heavily involved in planning the festivities and provided instructions to participants on desired behavior, Israel’s Hadashot TV news reported Friday.

The terror group disseminated detailed directives via social media ahead of Monday’s violent festivities at the border, the TV report said. These directives went so far as to inform protesters in which Israeli community each terrorist leader would be delivering victory speeches after the protests had achieved their stated goal of breaching the border.

US denies carrying out airstrikes that massacred over 25 civilians in eastern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The US-led Coalition denied conducting the Arclight airstrikes on Syria that killed scores of civilians in the province of al-Hasakah, Brigadier General of the coalition James Glynn told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

According to Iraqi media, the international coalition launched airstrikes against the positions of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. terrorist group (ISIS) in Syria from a military base in the Iraqi province of al-Anbar in early May.

"There are no airstrikes that would be launched by coalition forces from western Iraq," Glynn said.

The coalition led by the US regularly conducts strikes that occasionally hit civilian targets.

The coalition has recognized that at least 883 civilians have been killed since 2014 because of its airstrikes in Syria and Iraq.
