| 2 die in bombing attack (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, that nine people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast south of Baghdad. The source said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “A bomb exploded, this morning, near a popular market in Latifiya area south of Baghdad, killing two people and wounding seven others.” The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while strict measures were taken in anticipation of the presence of other bombs.” Civilian killed in armed attack east of Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a security source in the Iraqi police revealed, that a civilian was killed in an armed attack carried out by unidentified gunmen east of Baghdad. The source told reporters, “Today, unidentified gunmen driving a civil car shot a civilian while passing in Hayy Ur area east of Baghdad, killing him immediately.” The source added, “A security force cordoned off the area and transferred the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation into the incident.” 2 Iraqi militia wounded in bomb attack in southern Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source within the police force said on Thursday, that two elements of the Shia militia of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi had been injured in a bomb blast that took place in al-Yusifiyah area in southern Baghdad. The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an explosive device that was emplaced on the road side in the district of al-Yusifiyah in southern Baghdad went off while a vehicle belonging to al-Hashed al-Sha’bi was passing in the area,” pointing out that, “The blast resulted in wounding two elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi.” The source added, “A security force cordoned off the area of the incident and transferred the injured to nearby hospital for treatment.” |
