Clinton aide sought 'aggressive action' against official who mishandled classified info, emails
2015-09-04
[Wash Examiner] While Hillary Rodham Clinton appears to be getting a free pass for mishandling classified information in emails, her chief of staff once sought to bring down the legal hammer on State officials who also improperly handled sensitive information and emails.

Cheryl D. Mills sent an email to several top government officials recommending "aggressive action" against whoever leaked emails detailing how the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan didn't believe that former Afghan President Hamid Karzai was an "adequate strategic partner."

"The leaking of classified material is a breach not only of trust, it is also a breach of the law. In either event, we should seek a full investigation and send a deterrent message to the community that this type of security breach is unacceptable and seriously jeopardizes our national interest.

"Can you advise what have been steps taken in the past in these types of matters as I would like to ensure we take aggressive action," she wrote in the email signed "Cdm."
