| Four Turkish police killed in PKK bombing |

| [ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Four Turkish police were killed on Thursday in a kaboom on their vehicle in the country's southeast blamed on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), sources told AFP. The attack is latest deadly strike on the security forces blamed on the PKK since the Turkish government launched a major "anti-terrorist" campaign against the Kurdish Lions of Islam in July. A local police chief and three other officers were killed when a remote-controlled bomb laid by Lions of Islam exploded on a road in the Dargecit district of Mardin province, security sources said. The police team was on its way to respond to a fire at a school in Dargecit when the attack took place, according to the source. The PKK and the armed forces have shot it out daily since a two-year-old ceasefire fell apart in July. |
